Maybe it was old cake they served me but it was hard and dry. I probably won't be back to El Sol. Too many other bakeries serving superior cakes for the same price.

Plus the flavoring is just amazing. Ginger Spice: Has a really nice ginger-tang. Reminds me of those soft ginger and sugar cookies you usually get around Christmas time. Also, super soft. Surprisingly "buttery" tasting for being vegan. Island Coconut: Even softer than the other cookies. So soft they start to fall apart if you don't fully support the whole cookie in the palm of your hand. But that's fine, the taste is awesome. So much grated coconut goodness. Chocolate Chip: This tasted a bit off. Probably because chocolate chip cookies are classic and I've formed certain expectations over the decades. I think the big issue here is that the cookie base is so nice and chewy but the chips are hard and dry, kinda powdery. I guess vegan chocolate is just not my thing. So their cookie baking is still on point, but the vegan chocolate vendor is pretty blah. Peanut Butter: If any type of cookie is a good fit for being vegan, it's peanut butter! Peanut butter is such a magical food because it is creamy and filling and satisfying and generally amazing whilst being vegan. I appreciated how in their cookie version there's lots of peanut bits in addition to the peanut butter heavy cookie, it was like some waved a magic wand and turned chunky peanut butter into a cookie!

With shipping cost and everything, each cookie costs $1.24. If you do the math, I paid good money for the cookies. It's all worth it. I got what I wanted and that's what matters. Cookies & messages are mixed together so if you need to have them sorted, there is an extra fee. Make sure you add this service to your cart. I didn't know to add this service at the time of placing my order. Luckily, Alex, one of the staff members from FCF, emailed me and asked if I needed the cookies & messages sorted. I quickly replied yes. Thank you so much for asking Alex! I needed my order by a specific date so I made sure I specified it. I got my order 2 days early. Very cool! Unfortunately, when the order arrived at my house, I was not home at the time. Someone at my household carelessly mishandled the package and mixed all the cookies together. I was so super upset. No fault of FCF of course. Alex explained to me how my order was packaged. I appreciated his special attention and care. So bummed I didn't get to see the packaging. Nevertheless, it was a lesson learned for me. All cookies were individually wrapped. They are made fresh right before shipping and are good for 4 weeks upon arrival. Cookies were light and crispy with perfect texture and taste... not super sweet nor doughy just the way I like them. My custom messages came through nicely. Our guide Jennifer was a wealth of knowledge and so very fun to lead us through the history and operations of this business. The average person just doesn't appreciate all the work that goes into the foods that we eat. We saw the warehouse where the raw goods are stored and then onto the production floor! We saw the flour coming out into the massive vats, loaves coming out of ovens, focaccia going into convection ovens and all the steps in between. We were gifted an amazing bag of products that included a sweet baguette, sour battard, a bag of granola, bag of croutons, a morning bun, bag of cinnamon bread, biscotti and a bag of cinnamon bread. Unbelievable!!! They are such a family oriented organization that values community that they regularly donate product out. Items that come back from the stores and those that have an opps are sent out to become feed for chickens! I've always loved Semifreddis and now, I love them more. There are no public tours.
