Came in for a few night caps and a snack. The view is pretty and the decor is really nice! The chairs are gorgeous but feel like a church pew, uncomfortable! The mixed drinks got good reviews from my friends, but the service was really really slow. I ordered a soda and it took twice as long as the mixed bar drinks... We shared a pizza and the cheese plate. the pizza was overly sauced with something that looked like cream cheese? we wiped it all off. But other than that, the pizza was good! The cheese plate was presented beautifully, but it was described as coming with fruit preserves and it really only had one tiny smear of a jam. It also had a solid wedge of parm, which I found really odd. Too hard in my opinion for a cheese plate. It's mostly fresh fruit on the platter. I feel almost bad giving a 2 star, but the service was so insanely slow, we asked for a few more toasted points and the server forgot and wasn't around for us to flag down. She did bring us some eventually (nice and warm too!) but it was so late. The place was only 1/3 full, I'm not sure why on a saturday night the service was so bad? Overall, it has a great view and nice bar drinks, but I would only return for a drink or two. read more

Packers is in a beautiful location, the server was very nice, and the food tasted wonderful. We had the halibut; it melted in your mouth! The peach cobbler dessert was fantastic. However, it is very over-priced. For $24 you received a tiny piece of halibut on a creamy bed of rice-ish stuff; it advertises that it comes with chantrelle mushrooms, and it did... but only three half-slices! No sides. Bread basket arrived late, after we'd eaten and while we waited for dessert. It was very good food, but not worth the price, and if you don't order dessert you might leave hungry (or get hungry very soon after). They serve breakfast, lunch, a weekend brunch, and dinner. read more

We had the steak, fish & chips, fried oysters and mussels. The steak was tender, but under seasoned. The accompanying baby potatoes (2) were also under seasoned. And on the plate was a single onion ring (?). The mussels were huge, but tasted not-so fresh. The broth was tasty, and the bread was rather good. The fries/chips were also under seasoned. Even though they were sprinkled with parm, they had very little flavor. Our server was very nice, 5 stars. The kitchen was slow, 1 star. read more

Under new ownership and the restaurant still suffers. It's over priced, service is terrible. Inattentive and slow. Appears to have plenty of staff but management is not paying attention to these servers, wait staff and or bussers. It's been this way for some time, but we go back every few months to see if it's got better and nope, still the same. read more

Heidi is the best customer service representative I have had the pleasure of dealing with. She was attentive and accommodating. I like this hotel, but the bartender at packers is what will bring me back all the way from the east coast! She also had a male co-worker whose name I did not have the pleasure of catching. Love the views from Packer's restaurant at Semiahmoo but not impressed with how slow they are. We waited nearly 40 mins for our dinner on Friday and the waitress was almost abrasive at how much she was trying to upsell us in buying more drinks. She said it was slow because they are busier than usual. But I have been there during multiple slower times when the restaurant was less than 20% occupied and still waited over 30 mins. Also had food items delivered with cheese when my wife requested it without cheese and clearly explained she has dairy allergies. Seems like their kitchen and server staff need more training. read more

Amazing location, but left much wanting on quality and service. Afternoon appies and drinks on a mid-week getaway. Loved the location. Hard to find without a sign facing our room or the main approach. Greeting was generic, service quick but not friendly, and food quality was mediocre. Menu needed direction and focus: French? Greek? My husband and I stayed at the resort for three days. The food at Packer's was really good but the service was terrible! He got the lamb burger with sweet potatoes fries. I got the Bleu pizza with fig and arugula. Both were delicious, but we waited almost an hour for our food and were ignored by our waitress during that time. I've probably been to Packer's 30 times over the past 20 years. The hotel really misses the mark with what Packer's could be. Basically it is a bar that happens to serve food. The menu rarely changes and is uninspired. For the most part the service is slow (sometimes ridiculously slow) and unattentive. Food takes forever. You leave thinking, hmm, that could have been better. They need someone in there that gives a damn about real food, not just some formulaic hotel menu. They are missing the boat because there are many Semiahmoo people who would come regularly if it wasn't just a glorified coffee shop. read more

We spent a weekend at Semiahmoo and could not have been more impressed with the setting, staff or cuisine. The oysters were perfectly chilled, firm and tasty. The cheese board offered an array of stinky nutty creamy goodness paired with fresh berry compotes and delicious briny olives. Don't sleep on the flatbread pizzas or the ridiculous wagyu beef burger either. Based on the view alone we'd back, but our welcoming helpful servers secured future business by exceeding expectations and guiding our party to 4 through an amazing dining experience. read more

Way overpriced for what we had. $30 for a 3 oz piece of cod and three asparagus spears. It would cost you nothing to double the asparagus and throw some potatoes on the plate and make it a nice dinner - instead of an appetizer- or better yet - increase the fish portion. We pay that much for dinners regularly and have never seen a skimpy plate. Salmon wasn't much better. 2 lbs of cabbage salad on the plate with 3 oz over cooked salmon tail. The cabbage salad was delicious though - with pistachios on top. We saw an order of fish n chips come out as well as a cheese burger and a pizza- all of those between $15-20, looked "worth it". We didn't want fried food but I think that is going to be the best bet there- truly is a sports bar. read more

Sorry. I REALLY want to like this place given the beautiful location but time after (several) time the food is marginal at best, the service is SLOW and the prices are extremely high. I get that you pay a little extra for the location but still not worth the price. Today I tried the seafood chowder which had a weird flavor... couldn't quite identify it...and it was basically salmon chowder which seemed like leftovers from the night before. The waiter said it contains cod, halibut, clams and shrimp, none of which seemed to be present. This place could do so much better. read more

My wife and I were excited to be returning to Packers for an evening out. It is one of our favorite places to escape to. Unfortunately things did not go well. After being seated we waited twenty minutes for water and a menu which never came. The people next to us were also experiencing the same treatment. A man at the bar waiting to pay his bill was very frustrated. Packers was only about half full but no waiters in site. Only the gal that showed us to our table. We finally gave up and left. We went to Bob's Burgers in Birch Bay and had a good meal with excellent service. No customer care of any kind was going on at Packers. Hope this was a one time thing. Went to Packers yesterday for the 4th of July "clambake". It was a nicely set up venue outside with a buffet of ribs, chicken, clams, corn. Always fun to be outside with red checkered tables, music, and a gorgeous sunset. Price: $35.00. Say what? Okay, then only one will do the buffet and I shall order off menu. Husband said the corn was soggy and had a lard taste rather than butter. The chicken was fairly good. The ribs were dry. The dessert: - usually a very nice treat on a buffet - was store bought cookies. Yep! Even Oreos! What?! The crab tartine off the menu was very good at $16.00 and filling. The waitresses were fun and friendly. We live in Semiahmoo and looked forward to the Friday BBQ's this summer. The price has gone up to $30.00 and we will not go now because of the very mediocre buffet on the 4th. The price increased yesterday because of the 4th and the clams. So, then serve us better food Packers. How difficult can corn and dessert be? We much prefer our special meals at Tulio's in Seattle. At least the chefs are superb and they have always delivered fantastic food. We shall enjoy our own picnics on the Semiahmoo property with the gorgeous view the rest of this summer. Too bad, as we were planning on taking visiting family to Packers this coming Friday. Our neighbors in Semiahmoo agree with us about overpriced Packers. We still cannot get over the Oreos! My wife and I have dined here twice and the food was very good both times. The biggest negative here is the service. Specifically from a server named Adrian. He was our server the previous time and served us again on 7/3/18. His attitude was that of someone who couldn't be bothered by simple questions such as "how is the lamb shank prepared?" His response was, "isn't it described on the menu?" He didn't seem happy at all and certainly made out dining experience a negative one. My recommendation is that he should leave the service industry for something that might interest him more. It's unfortunate that the lasting image we have of this restaurant is of the negative service and not the good food. read more

Okay...we love the Semiahmoo Resort. We spend a weekend a year here usually to celebrate an anniversary. And here we are again and the resort and spa staff are by and large really good; accommodating, attentive, pleasant, etc. The resort is under new ownership and has been undergoing an overhaul. They need to overhaul the hostess in the Packer's Oyster Bar. We arrived at the reception desk - she ignored us. We asked if there was a table for two; she didn't look at us while she responded that we'd have to wait 5 minutes; so we sat ourselves at the bar and ordered coffee in full view of 3 empty tables. She sat others; we asked if we could take one of the empty tables; she said it was reserved for 11 a.m. (30 minutes from then). Another staff overheard and came over to seat us - in the exact table we'd requested. We ordered and ate while the hostess continued seat and serve others. By 11 a.m. there were at least 4 empty tables available. The whole experience has left us with a bitter taste in our mouths and seriously thinking about not coming back. I am an HR executive and have some obvious advice to impart: Hire someone in the position that knows something about customer service, and can look people in the eye and smile. Picturesque location stationed on a spit looking toward Canada and Western most point in the Continental USA, Point Roberts Washington lies Packers Oyster Bar. For fans of quintessential northwest fare this is the spot north of Seattle. The setting, ambiance and the food are the absolute best. The thing that kills this place is the spotty service. I don't know if they skimp on wait staff, don't pay well or don't hire the right people but it is always hit and miss. It can be downright aggravating because you want this place to be good to have one of those special nights out and then some crazy off the wall service issue pops up and you end up leaving with a free meal but angry because it wasn't right or some other service issue. The fact is anyplace else I'd stop going but the food is so damn good I have to go back. Spin the wheel of dining fortune and try your luck. If you hit it just right it's a winner! read more

First off, the view is awesome - it's right on the water and you can see everything! I went for happy hour and dinner and the reason I'm giving four stars is that the happy hour menu was a lot smaller at the restaurant than the one they had online, so that was a bit of a surprise and disappointing. I had the calamari off the happy hour menu and it was pretty good, especially with the aioli it came with. For dinner, I had the crab mac 'n cheese and it was so good! I also ordered the maple bacon strips and they were to die for! Both things were amazing and I would highly recommend both! read more

It's sad to me when a manager not only treats his employees in a condescending manner but his customers. I would like to thank the manager (Andrew maybe was his name) for making us feel like we were idiots for sitting down at a table that we thought was in the bar. The dividing line between the bar & dining area is hard to ascertain. His tone of voice & condescending manner made me promptly smile & say OK, we'll go somewhere else then because I wasn't spending a dime there to endorse his behavior. I let the hostess know how rude he was & all she could do was smile & give me the eyes of I'm really sorry but I know how you feel kinda thing with his behavior. Made me realize how poorly he treats his employees too.I could care less usually about rude people & let karma take over but this guy got under my skin so I needed to write this to make a point. read more

So, we looked on line and found a crab and shrimp louie offered in the menu at the restaurant at the resort. That was exactly what we wanted so off we went. That menu item is no longer available and there is nothing to replace it; no apologies just not available. Anyhow, we ordered from both menus - food was good but very meager in quantity. We really enjoyed the beautiful water & sunset views. Service was excellent. My Duck Comfit Poutine, with locally sourced smoked cheddar chunks, was delicious as was my husband's Bison Burger with Candied Bacon & Pepper Jam. Our friend thought her Kobi Burger was delicious too. Both the Bison & the Kobi meats were juicy & flavorful. Our sides of a garden salad offered crisp greens & a colorful selection of thinly sliced watermelon radishes & carrots. The salad dressing was filled with large chunks of Blue Cheese. Packers has a broad selection of wines & micro-brews. Some of which we three enjoyed with our meal. It's nice to see that this now remodeled venue, with what I understand is new(ish) management, has such imaginative & delicious offerings. Terrible. Took 40 minutes to get seated, another 10 before a waitperson stopped by, another 10 before they took our order. After 15 minutes, I went to the bar to ask for water and saw our (now watered down) drinks sitting there. Took 20 more minutes to get food. My poor daughter was starving and nearly in tears. The manager stopped by, offered nothing but excuses. I was shocked by the level of service at a nice resort. We avoided it the rest of our stay and had to eat off site. read more

The staff was welcoming and super informative of the menu...and the cocktail menu...THE COCKTAIL MENU! it's amazing! D.J. Riemer is the beverage supervisor and he's working on classic cocktails there. I was surprised to see at least 5 types of bitters (not just your classic but fennel and others!) and simple syrups (ginger caught my eye right away), all of the signature cocktails looked balanced and classic but with a twist of creativity. I'm excited to go back and try some other of their drinks! The bartender was happy to allow me to be a little creative with my choice and the fennel bitters were the highlight of that drink! We also tried the cheese and charcuterie and were pleasantly surprised with the quality and value of the appetizer. We were in pretty late and the night view is great but I can only imagine how gorgeous that would be at sunset. Can't wait to come back up and experience that! Thanks for taking great care of us! My wife and I popped in for a mid- week lunch. First time visit to Semiahmoo. Being off season the place was nearly empty. We were quickly seated at a table by the window overlooking the bay. What a wonderful view. Our hostess was amazing not leaving anything undone. We told here we wanted to share a fish and chips and a bowl of clam chowder thinking she would bring a plate of the fish and a bowl of the chowder. Rather she brought us each a plate with an amazingly large fillet of fried cod and some of the best fries we have ever had. The chowder was fresh made and above average but the cup was large. Suffice to say we could not eat all she brought us. I fail to mention the wonderful salad that came with the meal. We knew the meal would be pricey but for the money, the view, outstanding service and portions made it well worth it. read more

The newly opened Packers Restaurant ay Semiahmoo is defiantly a work in progress. We as a party of five had reservations on a Tuesday for 6:45. They had no table for us and the wait was 30 minutes. Although it was relatively early when we ordered they were out of oysters, several entrées and some deserts. Understaffed, inexperienced and overwhelmed they did their best to struggle through. The food was above average (actually very good by this areas standards) although old timers who remember the original Packers will lament the absence of standard Packer fare such as prime rib and the lack of outdoor seating. The menu is somewhat limited and focused on local and fresh. However there is a wide range of choices from traditional fish and chips (very good, light batter and not greasy) to duck confit , all well prepared. Once they acquired their "sea legs" they will be a welcome addition to the dining experience in Northern Whatcom County. read more
