This last visit (October 2020) all servers wore masks, required customers to wear masks and kept the tables separated. Things I recommend Fish and Chips - the fires are sooo crispy and flavorful Woodfire Pizza- Fig&Blue- if u love that sweet and savory vibe- this is it! Great views. Good service. Average food but Large portions. Expensive and usually a long wait. One of the few restaurants open a little later in the area. You're paying for the views and less for the food. Usually very busy so would recommend calling ahead or making a reservation. Salmon - decent size salmon. Slightly over cooked but well seasoned. Broccoli was light and scalloped potatoes were good. Chowder - creamy and very filling. Generous with their chunks of seafood. Not too overwhelming fishy Garlic fries - huge portion. The Salmon was overcook, we sent it back and the server left the sides with us and didn't return for a long time with the Salmon that was over cooked even more! Five adults and two kids We paid a gratuity for almost self service! The waitress complained about everything; blamed the cooks, the bar etc..... everyone but herself! She would not walk around the table ..... just passed everything; same for taking things away! Everything took forever to come and some got good and others did not....... So we ate before it got cold ; the other half came as we were more than halfway through our food!! So overall not a good experience for a very expensive meal!! read more

Worst pizza ever! Burnt, no taste - described as blue cheese, mushrooms, Alfredo sauce, pretty much zero ingredients and dried up. So salty, ate a couple of slices (not enamel cracking crust) with ingredients sparse and only on 1/2 of each slice, could not figure out what kind of pizza I was eating. Very few people in restaurant and after 30 minutes had to flag down waitress to ask where is our order. Wife and I went to this place by recommendation from our hotel (Worldmark). We did not have a reservation but were seated in relatively short time. We ordered the Heirloom Tomato & Summer Vegetable Salad, Spicy Fried Calamari and the Salish Sea Cioppino. Here is my breakdown: Atmosphere and views - 5 stars, more if possible Service - 5 stars also. I regret that I cant recall our waitress's name but she was stellar. Food - 3 stars. The Cioppino was sooo salty; it had potential but it was as if they took the entire bottle of salt and poured it all into the pot. The calamari and salad were quiet tasty. The view is excellent. The bar was good. My companion ordered fish chowder, which was delicious, and a salad. I had the fish and chips. The fish was good and I prefer beer batter but the batter didn't adhere to the fish and most of it ended up in an oily pile uneaten on the side of the plate. We haven't been there in 27 years and the resort is looking a bit worse for wear, with peeling paint and dry rot in the siding and signs of wear and tear in the interior. read more

What a joke. Unfortunately we are staying at the resort so kinda forced to come here.We came in for drinks and appetizers, one hour wait for bar seating . Went into the bar to order a drink and wait, four tables are open. The waitress sat a party of three with no reservations out of the blue. What about us? 30 minutes later same three tables are open, still waiting! Food is below average,drinks are OK but prices are way over what they should be. Worst worst worrrrrst place we could've gone! From bad service to bad food!!! This is kitchen nightmare status... We had to literally got our own waters, then waitress came to ask if we needed drinks 30 minutes after being seated (1 st acknowledgement) took forever for the food, they closed as we were still waiting, my 8 year old being the last one served cuz they put cheese on her plain burger and she had to wait to eat after all of us cuz they kept bringing out our dishes like it was a five course meal... I.e. no bread with a bowl of seafood soup.... Caesar salad with no Cesar, (then bringing me MAYO AS THE CESAR DRESSING AFTER NO DRESSING ON MY SALAD!! , fries but no burger etc just so bad. This was our first visit; I had feared it might be a snooty place. No pretension here - only very friendly staff, extraordinary food, a great bar and incredible views. We purposely arrived early to enjoy a beer before dinner, with lots of options on the water, including rocking chairs, chaise lounges, teak benches - all meticulously maintained, and even driftwood. Best bartender. The staff were all delightful. We ordered an appetizer of calamari. Maybe the best I've ever had - small and tender, just enough breading, not at all greasy, with a sauce that perfectly complemented the dish. We both ordered the cioppino - a whopping amount of shellfish, salmon, cod and andouille sausage in a rich broth. The andouille provided just the right amount of spice. The crusty bread was the perfect accompaniment. The ambience of the converted fish canning facility was excellent. Gigantic beams, high ceilings, good lighting, an architecturally respectful conversion. And did I mention the views? Windows lining the walls, overlooking the Puget Sound and Canada. I have an attitude about rotating restaurants and those with incredible views, resting on that instead of the food. Not so here. And no, I'm not one of those Amazon-like reviewers paid for their high ratings. This was a memorable experience. We'll be back. A special call out to our server Susan, who had a lot on her hands, and still made us feel like we were special guests. An all-around great experience. read more

I'm so glad this place is able to operate during COVID . I did see some Lower rating , i wasn't what that was about . I decided to give it a shot and I was pleasantly surprised. COVID precautions are strictly applied . There are some seating areas in front of the bar and the set up is in a way to respect social distancing . staff is helpful and nice ; they made some spot on recommendations. It's not hard to make gd calamari , but it's tough to make a good one . Probably the best calamari I've had in this area. Clam chowder was good and definitely compares to other places that are known for that . Fish tacos are also delicious . Spectacular views . My wife and I stayed at the Semiahmoo Resort while on a trip of the Pacific Northwest. We arrived to Semiahmoo pretty late in the evening, but heard that Packers was still open, and we were hungry. Needless to say, we were not disappointed. I ordered a bowl of steamers and my wife had their wings from the appetizer menu. Both items were cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. You know steamers are good when you can put them in a tasteful, but not invasive, broth. They still tasted a bit like the sea, but were succulent and filled me right up. We also had this delicious peach and ice cream dessert thing that was to die for. I'm fairly certain it was a seasonal dessert, but it was unique and very well-done. The view here is something special as well, it's right on the waterfront, and it may hold the record for being the closest restaurant to the western Canadian border in the US. You can look across the bay and see White Rock, BC and it provides such a peaceful atmosphere and ambience. The decor is modern and upscale. It's a good place to come and grab a drink at the bar and hang out to watch the game, or it fits as a nice little romantic dinner on the water. Either way, you're more than likely going to be staying at the resort in order to visit this place, but it is off the hook!! read more

Rick was our server tonight (8/29) and we did apps, drinks, mains and dessert. He was funny and personable. Attentive, but clearly he knew how to serve like a pro. While staying at the Resort, we decided to have dinner here. We were asked to be put on the list and given an estimated one hour wait time. They asked for a cell number so they could text when our table was ready. It was about a half hour and we got our text. They have a nice variety and from the looks of it, they use local resources/companies. They said they had a 90 minute limit for the tables due to their busy night. That seemed like a lot of time.. no one enforced it or anything but kind of an odd thing to mention. Maybe as to not stay and linger with the tvs playing? Cute environment .. it was dark when we got there but I would assume during daylight it would be an amazing view. Staff is friendly. Kids 5 and under eat free, which was nice because my daughter is 5 and they can choose a drink, a meal (only 3 selections for the littles but they have another kids menu for 8.50), a side dish, and dessert. I tried the chowder (meh, it was ok...) and the salad with the greens, hazelnuts, and blue cheese. My husband had the fish and chips and they were delish! I had high hopes for Packers, but I was sadly disappointed. I'll start with the things we liked. Our server was very nice and the shrimp hushpuppies were really tasty. The rest of our experience was not great. We ordered the Seafood Starter Platter. It was not good. They were out of the mussels so we opted to have two more raw oysters added instead. Big mistake. I'm a huge oyster lover so I was excited to dig in. However, these oysters were awful! They 1) were not cold and 2) had a horrible taste...like what I would imagine stinky feet would taste like. Very bad. The flat bread was basically baked chewy pizza dough with a sprinkle of parmesan. It was lacking any real flavor. Last but not least, they had run out of salmon dip, but let us know they were making some fresh dip in the back. We waited, and waited, and waited. The server was very nice about it and offered to just discount the bill if we didn't want to wait. We said that would be fine, but in the next 8-10 minutes she came and said the dip would be out in just a minute. We asked for it in a to-go container. When it finally came, I sampled it and it was not great either. It had a runny consistency and was way too salty to be edible. We ended up leaving it on the table when we left. It was not worth taking home. Besides the unprepared kitchen and the poorly tasting food, the bill was WAY too high for the horrible seafood platter we received. Staying in the hotel, and we have to walk down to place a to-go order. When I call the line, the only option is to leave a voice-mail requesting a reservation and they will call you back. Not very inviting to walk down, place your order and come back 20 minutes later. Very mixed food quality. I'm a bit more suspicious of the $20 6oz Kobe beef burger I had last night (though it was pretty good), after having the $20 chicken strips today to find they were basically Tyson frozen & breaded chicken. The tomato soup that came with my grilled cheese was also way over-herbed. I don't want to dip a grilled cheese into tomato soup that tastes more of fines herbs than tomato. Wasn't thrilled paying $52 for a meal I could get at Denny's for $20. I'm not Denny's shaming, though I haven't eaten there in a decade, but at least you know what you're signing up for. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of this menu comes from Sysco. That's not terrible, but it's not great. I'd give (an honestly generous) 3 stars for the food if the service were better. View is admittedly 5+ stars. Very good brunch today. I asked for and received a blueberry cosmo since I saw they had fresh blueberries in other drinks. Very nice. I had the seafood chowder. It was excellent, with lots of salmon and chopped clams. The flavor reminded me of whiskey crab chowder. I miss the chowder from years ago which had clams in the shell but this was very enjoyable. Mom enjoyed her lemon ricotta pancakes but I found them a bit dry. Our waiter Andrew was a delight and bartender were really nice. View of course was awesome. read more

What a beautiful setting right on the water at Semiahmoo! We came for a late dinner and enjoyed the sunset while we ate our meal! The service was very friendly and quick. We ordered a few dishes and ate family style. The Fig and Blue Pizza was good. We thought that it could've had a bit more to it...maybe a drizzle of olive oil and honey would have finished the dish off nicely! The Asparagus Salad was good too but once again it could have had a bit more flavours it! I did love the fresh Burrata cheese...so yummy! We ended up topping our pizza with the ingredients from the salad. We also ordered the chefs specialty dessert...brown butter cake with an apple compote...yummy but I was expecting more flavour from the bourbon caramel icing. We sat down at Packers Restaurant at 7p. We ordered shortly after. When 7:40p rolled around, I got up and walked back to the waiter area and asked the manager what they hold up was with our food. She said, the top sirloin was overdone and they had to recook it. We didn't get our food til 7:50p!! We basically spent $100 for dinner for dinner to come out 50 minutes later! For a nice resort, I would have expected this to be handled better!!! If we would have known it would have taken this long to eat, we would have gone somewhere else. Nice view... Food was decent, but way overpriced and slow.... from the other reviews, sounds like they need to learn how to cook steak. Order your drink at the bar because they were backed up too. Food was ok. And they were not that busy. My 70% full. FYI. No where else to eat within 15 miles so enjoy. I'm not sure what to say. I've been here maybe four times. I had solid experiences, until last night. The four of us waited 30 mins for our drinks, and 1.5 hours for our entrees. There was never any explanation for the ridiculous waits, and no manager ever appeared at our table to even acknowledge there was an issue. The place was not busy. We had a cheerful server who kept saying that our orders would be "right out." Clearly, the kitchen and bar failed him. Repeatedly. When they finally came, most of our orders (drinks and food) were good. The cioppino was even great. I don't recommend the bacon brussel sprouts; there was nothing special about them, and they clearly sat for sometime before they came to our table. The long waits severely marred this night out to celebrate 35 years of marriage for two of us. I'm not sure I'd return. read more
