Mango sticky rice for dessert! Very delicious and enough t for two to share.

First time dining here and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, freshly made to your liking, the service was excellent, our server was not overbearing, she was kind and genuine. The place was clean, plenty of space to dine inside and out comfortably . They also have their own parking . Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of our meal, but they are generous portions, as you can see, dessert pic is attached. I will be back to dine here again.

The food was good. There was only one server at the time I went and it took a long time for my table to be attended and the kitchen was talking a while to cook the food and bring things out. The beef in the fried rice was very soft and delicious! The crispy chicken was not crispy as it should've been but I was soggy and chewy. The fried calamari was delicious. The pad see ew was delicious and taste great! This place serves large portions, so if you're trying to get your moneys worth, I'd recommend this place.

The food here is always exceptional as is the service . The waitress is super attentive to the smallest details. There is ample parking and the walk is level from your car to the restaurant entrance. Which is quite important for some of us seniors. Also, they offer indoor and outdoor seating. I drive one hour to eat at this restaurant. It's quite a gem. I am confident, that if you give them a try you will like it.

Came for dinner here with friends on a cold night and it's a small cozy place tucked away in Montclair. There is street parking as well as a private lot which connects to the upper level of the Safeway parking lot so you should have no problem finding a parking space. Service was attentive and we ordered the Garlic Pepper Pork, Pad Woon Sen, Spicy Wide Noodles with Chicken, and Pad See Ew with Pork. Portions were hearty and I enjoyed my Pad Woon Sen, which I never had before. I'm not much of a bean sprout person but it tasted good with the glass noodles!

A neighborhood staple. The nicest people and some of the best curry anywhere--especially the duck curry.

Honestly, just incredible! I got to Pagarung just before closing and the staff were so graceful. They took my to-go order and gave me water while I waited. The service was excellent, everyone was nice. The restaurant was immaculate, very well decorated. When I got home I couldn't wait to eat. The Spring Rolls were perfect. Soft rice paper wrapper, crunchy veggies, and perfectly cooked prawns. The peanut sauce was flavorful, there was a spice that I could not detect, it added great value. The curry was just delicious. The sauce, the pumpkin, the chicken, and all the veggies were flavorful. I would love to give more details but not sure what to say other than I was extremely satisfied. The meal was everything needed and more. I'd been here prior to the pandemic and remember it being good, but my experience this time was literally perfect. My only regret was not ordering mango with sticky rice. Next time!

My mom and I decided to try this place years after seeing it. Located in the upper parking lot area behind Starbucks/Safeway in Montclair there is ample parking. We arrived at opening time so we were first inside. The menu has multiple options. We tried the veggie fried rolls -they were great! Then we both got an entree - I had the Tom Kha soup. It was salty making it unenjoyable. My mom had a special- cashew prawns and veggies. Which she said lacked depth of flavor and was also salty. So we are thinking maybe we ordered the wrong items because this place has many great reviews. The staff are nice and friendly. The ambiance is great - very clean and spacious. I would try this place again with hopes of getting some of what others are raving about.

So happy when Pagarung reopened after remodeling. They are truly a gem in Montclair. The food is consistently tasty, the ambience is cozy and inviting, the restaurant's well kept, and the staff is always kind and accomodating. We usually order Red Chili Eggplant, a noodle dish, and fresh rolls. I also like that they are connected to the upper Safeway lot so parking is almost never an issue.

When you have the sauce but the meat doesn't cut it and one can't chew it...nobody wins. It's tough no matter how you cut it.
    Chris O.

Dear Pagarung Thai, You have some amazing sauces and marinades, the flavors are bold and bodacious. However, that said, the cuts of meat need to be on that same level. I've ordered the curry chicken, it's chicken breast, it's been dry and chewy in a few occasions. Last night the trout was over fried and the texture was of chicken, but at least more tender than the chicken in the curry. I loved the sauce on the trout, we bypassed the trout and had the sauce with rice. We ordered the garlic pepper pork and the eggplant pork. Again, the marinade and the sauces are GREAT. But the pork in both dishes were either cut with the grain or just a bad choice of meat. What my family had last night was rice and awesome sauce, all the protein was wasted. Once you put the pork in your mouth, immediately the taste buds are on "YUMMY" mode and then you're chewing, everyone is chewing and chewing that one bite of pork...and i can best describe the texture as wet cardboard. I know it's a tough piece meat when you can feel the meat going down45 minutes later. I want you all to survive and succeed and I want a place close by with GOOD FOOD! My advice, don't use chicken breast, unless you can pound it and make it tender and don't over cook it, the best alternative would to use dark meat, it's hard to overcook that. I also recommend using ground pork in the eggplant, because again, it's hard to F ground pork. I cook often, and once in awhile I want to have a great meal out...and after spending $80 for great sauce over rice, I'm still hungry, my family is still hungry. So now we're all sitting here hangry and I'll have to make scrambled eggs in a few hours. Anyhow, you have great sauces, now work on the protein, you can turn this around! TODAY! Yes, You Can! Because you have THE SAUCE, The sauce needs to be paired with protein that's on the same level, slice your meat against it the grain, we want tender...if you do this, you'll be money. Your sauce is MONEY. I'll come again and give it one more try in a bit in hopes that you see this.

We all split all the specialty cocktails and I got the Khao Pad Kang Kiew (rice with eggplant and chicken topped with a fried egg). Dishes are $20-23 ish each. We were seated at the 6 person table in the back of the restaurant near the bathroom. My favorite drinks were their take on a hard thai iced tea, the lavender mojito, a take on an espresso martini. There was also this spicy drink that had thai chilis in it that is VERY spicy lol. Pros: - the rice dish was DELICIOUS and also huge haha. Came with cucumbers to cut the peppery flavor if needed. - All the cocktails were pretty different and it was fun to try all of them. They were all beautiful to look at and tasty (lots of coconut and Thai inspiration). - Service was pretty good - Has "typical" thai dishes like pad thai and pad see ew, and also more rare ones that are hard to find - Close to many bars and other establishments, so perfect if you want to eat here as a first, second, or third location of your outing haha Cons: - The air flow in the back wasn't amazing so I did feel like it got stuffy/hot - Parking can be tough in this area so I recommend BARTing Another reason to love Oakland!

Unfortunately it was too spicy for my liking and some of the white rice was burnt from the being at the bottom of the pot. There was only 8 eggplant pieces in the entire dish and surprisingly a lot more chicken. So depending on your preference this may be a good thing! I was really craving the sweet, earthy flavor of eggplant so while lots of protein was greatly appreciated I did wish there was more eggplant in the dish. Either way it was a good portion of food so they don't skimp here for sure! The service was friendly and super attentive the moment you walk in. I'd be willing to try another non spicy dish here.

But it was not full throughout the time we were at the restaurants. Experience: Food came out pretty fast and it was hot(!). Overall, service was good and they checked in on us a few times to make sure all is good. Food: - Nam Khao was fantastic. Crispy rice, the mixed minced vegetables, and the cooked sausage. Together with the lime that you can squeeze to preference, it was delicious! Haven't had Nam Khao this delicious in a while! - Pad See Ew with pork was alright. It was cooked well and a little on the sweeter side rather than savory, but missing the smoky flavor "wok hei" that would take this to the next level that I love. - Fried Sweet Fish was alright too. Fish is fried with a very thin batter but it had black pepper which my kids doesn't want as they're sensitive to anything spicy. The fish had a light fishy taste to it (fresh water fish) which would be better if they even use a little ginger to cut the fishy taste for a better taste. - Guay Tiew is very similar to Pad See Ew with the exception that it had a fried egg on the top and had seafood (shrimp and squid). - Vientiane Crispy Roll is different from regular egg rolls. Made with rice paper roll so it was crispy but also chewy, which is different and may not be what everyone is used to. Will return to try out other dishes.

I missed photos of the main entrees enjoying our time and honestly not sure what we ordered as we paid with a kiosk and didn't get a printed receipt even thought I typed in my email.. so that's frustrating with technology. If you want a receipt have it printed before you leave. My friend had a spicy eggplant dish and I had a tofu dish with rice and no fish sauce. Wish I could be more descriptive but can't say without an itemized receipt.. doesn't matter though, was all amazing flavors for both my friend (who travels and has worldly palette, and my self with a broad pallet only within the US) Flavors were amazing and service was on par. I did have an issue at first with the first server saying Pad Thai could be done with tofu and no fish sauce so I was excited, but then the next server said it was already mixed and not able to accommodate, but did find me an alternative I found flavorful with veggies, though missed having the peanuts in my dish. I had Pad See You instead without meat or fish sauce. Service overall was wonderful, attentive and didn't have to wait for anything. They did close and allowed us to stay on the patio visiting long after. Would be happy to return again.. I didn't ask about validating my parking and then they closed, so that was a bummer but my bad.. do check when you arrive and see if they can validate to help with a hefty parking cost $20 for us but hung out longer than most..

The Thai iced coffee was delicious and strong! As it should be. It did give me the jitters though because I'm a weak sauce. We were a party of ten and I was able to make rezzies via phone for a Friday evening at 6:30pm no problem about a week beforehand. The kiddos ordered à la carte, and five of us adults had the following: - BMV ultimate papaya platter with Lao sausage, angel wings and crispy pork. Crispy pork was legit, papaya salad definitely had that extra funk. The angel wings were crispy and meaty and my friends loved the Lao sausage. One even said "it's like tom yum soup in a sausage". It was very lemongrass forward which is not my thing, but that's my problem. I feel we could have ordered à la carte and that would have been a better deal than $75 for the platter. Some of it was fluff like the cabbage, rice and pork rinds. - Khao soy soup: Fiancé thought it would be creamy and coconut-y like the Thai version but it wasn't. I did enjoy the flat noodles but they were all stuck together. - Pia pla ka pow (fish with basil): Good one. The fish was moist and flavorful. The veggies were al dente and delicious too. - Sakoo: Unique! I enjoyed the chewy mochi exterior and the savory ground pork filling. It needed a sauce. I just used the chili sauce that was on the party platter. - Laab Gai: This fell flat for me. I'm not a huge fan of organs though. - Nam khao fried rice: One of our favorites! The crispy pieces really made this dish. Would definitely order this again. - Mango sticky rice: Served warm. Very sweet mango! - Purple rice with egg custard: Also served warm. This was ok. - Side of rice: HUGE serving! Unfortunately it was clumpy and hard, which means old. Street parking only. Get the nam khao and mango sticky rice!

This is our go-to Restaurant, this year for Thanksgiving & Christmas both. Friends who joined us were impressed with the food & were very interested to know the name & location of this restaurant. Now my In-Laws like to order Take Out more often, and they always want to order Thai food! It used to be they wanted Indian food, which we love but truly had not found satisfactory in the past. I'm so glad because Thai Taste Kitchen doesn't disappoint! They have been impeccable about marking the containers & even packaging meat vs vegetarian items in separate bags, and they allow specifics like "no shrimp paste" or whatever, more of "this" or none of "that". White Rice included free with entrees thst are not noodle or rice based, and if you prefer individual instead of family style, you can add an appetizer to each entree individually for about $5-$6, which is about the same as splitting an appetizer order in half, but sometimes people prefer a different appetizer. I like to avoid fried foods, for example, but others love egg rolls or fried chicken (was that an appetizer or an entree?) Thai Iced Tea comes in one size only, and it's small, but consider the calories. This is probably best in small size & I was thoroughly satisfied, I had not indulged for many, many years and it was so delicious. If possible, get it with no ice so it doesn't melt on the way to your destination, you can add your own ice once you get there. Tbh, I started drinking it immediately & finished it in about 10 min, since my husband was driving. Treat yourselves & I think you'll be really glad you found this place. One caveat, they are short staffed so keep that in mind if you eat in the restaurant, I believe only one person is serving tables and may also handle the register, so it may require patience. The beauty of Take Out is we can set out a buffet, everyone grabs a plate & chooses ehat they like, and we can reheat warm items in the microwave in about a minute, and it tastes it's best hot.

Definitely one of my favorite meals I've had in 2026 -- I can't wait to stop by again.
