We've been coming for many years and always had a delicious meal and exceptional hospitality. Today I was extremely disappointed after ordering a grilled veal chop with vinegar peppers and potatoes. Although very tasty and cooked correctly the veal chop was extremely small (half the size of the palm of my hand) and not worth $29.00!! The dish was over loaded with peppers and potatoes and I actually thought they forgot to plate the chop!! My wife had veal Parm which she said was very good. Again service and hospitality excellent! But for $29.00 put a chop on the plate worth the money! I will not order this dish again. read more

We were on a business trip. Whole discovering. The downtown area, we were introduced to the owners here by a local man. There were both very nic. We returned two days later to retry out the food. While we were at the desk to check in to get a table we almost left as 4-5 people scurried by us and then finally someone asked if we needed a table. And food was okay at best. We visited here as a party of four for lunch on Saturday, September 17th at about 1:15PM. We were seated promptly. It is a cute little Italian restaurant right in the heart of the North End. The service was very friendly and our server was honestly so sweet and so full of heart. I found the food to be just "ok". I personally ordered the Veal Braciolittini and don't get me wrong -- it was good; however, just good. I guess in a place like the North End, with so many Italian restaurants, I would expect excellent to deem a return visit. I was also very surprised that packaged butter was supplied with the bread and not olive oil. That was quite surprising. Would I return again? I am actually physically sad that we chose to waste our Saturday night dinner here while visiting Boston last weekend. FOR TOURISTS LIKE ME, here's some advice: If you are going to dinner on a Saturday night in Boston, you absolutely need a reservation. Like, absolutely, no doubt about it. It was 8:30 (which to me is hardly dinner time anyway. I can't wait to be a senior citizen and have dinner at 4:30 every day lol) there were crowds wrapped around the building just to get into any decent restaurant. The lines were 20 people deep, just to get INTO the restaurant to put your name down. Ain't nobody got time for dat! Alas, we didn't have a dinner rez anywhere so after exhausting my yelp list and finding every recommended restaurant wouldn't be able to sit us until around 10 pm, we decided to walk around the North End until we found something. Pagliucas was the only one we saw without a line, and we got seated right away. In retrospect, this maybe should have been a warning? Strike ONE: the service was awful. My water glass was almost always empty and it took forever to get the bread starter. Strike TWO: I ordered a seafood pasta dish. For $25, the pasta texture was weird and the sauce was SO bland. I barely ate 1/3 of my plate and God only knows the last time I haven't finished my entrée. Strike THREE: I got a $10 glass of wine which tasted like Boones Farm. Don't ask me how I know what Boone's Farm tastes like. Three strikes you're out! Lol...There wasn't a line here on Saturday night for good reason. Make sure to make a reservation at one of the amazing surrounding restaurants to truly enjoy the food the North End has to offer. read more

This was some of the worst service I have ever received. We had reservations at 8pm, but were only seated at 9pm, without so much as an apology. Once seated, they brought out loaves of bread without any plates or olive oil. About ten minutes later they brought out the olive oil, but still no plates. Only after asking them for plates did they realize that people were buttering their bread while awkwardly holding it in their hands. We ordered our food and it took yet another half an hour to arrive. Except for my seafood ravioli. I asked the waitress and she said that she would check on it. About ten minutes later she came back with ravioli, but after biting into it I realized that it wasn't the right kind. I asked again, and she said she'd correct the mistake. Not sure how there are only 3 stars on Yelp. Luckily Pagliucas was recommended by a friend who had dined here recently and we trusted his advice. Funny enough the couple next to us were also there on a friend's recommendation. They need to fix their web site though - I was unable to see a menu before we went. Suffice it to say they have all the dishes you would expect at an Italian restaurant. It was moderately busy for a Wednesday night. They take reservations for parties of 4 or more. We had the shrimp fra diavolo from the regular menu and the cioppino from the specials list. Both were crazy good. The sea food, as expected in Boston, was as fresh as could be. The spicy sauce (used in both dishes) was tasty without being too hot. The pasta was cooked just right and was fresh made as well. The cioppino was crammed with tender calamari, more muscles than I could count, a few large clams and shrimp. It was served in two plates (pictured). No... I didn't finish my dinner! To make the evening even more fun a street musician came in and played his accordion - a different song at each table. On the way out, while waiting for the Uber car, the owner and chef appeared at the door. "How was your dinner?" He also introduced his college age daughter. This place was so good we ate here twice during our stay in Boston. The food was delicious, ordered chicken Parmesan and spaghetti both days. One of those times when why try another restaurant or dish even when what you've already had is perfect and normally we don't like eating the same food two days in a row. The staff was extremely friendly and down to earth. We ordered a lemon drop and it was perfection, strong and tart and ice cold. Frustration sets in while driving around the North End looking for parking. Once we found the only spot for blocks it was just a stones through from Pagliuca's. What a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed the Veal Parm while my wife had the Eggplant Parm. Couldn't ask for a better meal. It started with an Italian bread the was piping hot crispy crust and so soft and warm the butter melted instantly. We will be back. read more

We had originally planned to go to a nearby restaurant, but it had a nearly 2-hour wait. After exploring the other options in that area, we ended up at Pagliuca's where we were very pleased with our pasta dinners - linguini with red clam sauce and ziti with chicken and broccoli. It didn't take too long for the two of us to be seated and we felt we had plenty of time to look over the menu. Unfortunately, we were seated in a back corner next to a table of 8 guests. We managed with the tighter space, but we felt a little forgotten by our server. We didn't receive our bread like the other tables did even after we flagged someone over to ask for it. Wow...this dining experience was like a trip to Italy no passport required. Nestled nicely in "little Italy" I elected to get dropped off by Uber (parking is impossible). The front of the restaurant opens to the street allowing you to enjoy the breeze and passer byers. I had the mussels over linguine. Perfectly seasoned and fresh! Eggplant Parmigiana- decent serving size with lots of flavor. Ravioli- delicious and creamy. The biggest disappointment was the bill. The restaurant was accommodating to make my fussy son a bowl of ziti with butter. It was good but $17.95 was a bit steep.. The Pinot noir and sangria were full of flavor. The service was fantastic. I completely loved this restaurant! Right from the moment we entered, the staff was kind and ready to help. We were seated almost immediately after we entered and had our drink orders taken. I was dining with my parents. My dad ordered a shirley temple (cherry juice and sprite) and when it came, it was heavy on the cherry juice, which is something most dining establishments fail to do. My mom however, ordered a draft beer and was informed that they were out. Our waitress offered her a bottled beer though, and when it arrived it turned out to be a bud light, which she isn't particularly fond of. I stuck with water and was pleasantly surprised when they returned to fill my water glass all of the times I needed which turned out to be about six. I guess you can say I like water! The man who was filling water was VERY nice and funny which I greatly appreciated. As for the food, I will address the items in order of arrival. First, my mom ordered a garden salad with creamy Italian dressing. She and my dad seemed to enjoy it quite a bit. I myself am not a salad person so I cannot personally say how it was. Then, the (complimentary) bread arrived. The crust was incredibly tough but the inside of the bread was very good. Then, our main courses came. I ordered the fresh pasta with marinara. It was AMAZING!! I loved it. Although, it was very traditional Italian, so if you like very American-italian food this probably isn't for you. My mom ordered lobster ravioli in a pink sauce ( Alfredo and marinara), it was very good as well. My dad ordered some kind of seafood with linguine. I enjoyed that too. All in all the food was amazing! However there were a few negatives in my dining experience. The people eating there were very loud and made it very hard to hear the people sitting right next to me. The food service wasn't very fast. I would say it took a reasonable amount of time which was fine with me, but don't go there if you're in a hurry! Also, like I said before, the food was very traditional Italian. So, I loved it! However, if you are someone who likes a thick, heavy marinara sauce or fries as a side to your spaghetti, this place probably isn't for you. Service here was terrible. I went with a few friends and we are all Asian and the waitress talked to us like we did not know English. She was very blunt, disrespectful, and unfriendly to only our table. Seemed annoyed we were in the restaurant and did not want to wait on us. When looking around she was smiling, laughing, and kind to all other tables. At the end of the night when going to leave she actually stopped us from leaving and asked us if we knew how tips worked. Told us the tip left was not even 10% when it was then continued to pull out a calculator to show us we owed her at least 18-22% tip. I felt very disrespected and discriminated against here. This was the first authentic Italian restaurant I had tried in the North End and from my observations, it was some pretty good sh*t. Italian is my favorite food to cook at home for dinners so I decided to give the carbonara a try. It was so thiccccq (yes with 4 c's and a q). Better than anything I could have made at my house. Definitely a good spot to go to when you want a simple nice place to go out and eat. Ooh! I almost forgot. They even give you the fresh bread with the olive oil and seasonings and stuff with is so friggin good. It was not super crowded and loud on a Friday night which was very pleasant.
