I love the pizza here, especially the sauce, but the service always sucks and they've screwed me for the last time. I called for delivery at 6:30, the girl quoted me an hour and fifteen. An hour and a half later I called to check on the pizza and she tells me that it just went in the oven, it has fifteen minutes left and then he'll need time to deliver. That puts an hour and fifteen pizza to two hours!!! I have a starving three year old and she wants to send me a two hour pizza? Pizza Hut has given me my pizza free when they were only fifteen minutes late and Paisans offered nothing, just expected me to be okay with a pizza that's 45 minutes late. Horrible customer service. Worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant, retailer, etc. ever. The manager is terrible with a horrible attitude. I was charged incorrectly and they would not refund my account. I had the option of keeping a credit. I explained that this wouldn't be necessary as I almost never eat here. I have been ordering pizza here for a very long time...it's usually my go to place but after tonight I am done with paisans!!! I had a very simple order...half cheese half veggie...when the pizza got here.. They gave me half cheese half Pepperoni olive and mushroom! I'm a vegetarian ...soooo pepperoni is not an option!!!! When I called to let them know that they made a mistake...my only option was for them to send another pizza...now keep in mind this was at almost 9:00 at night...my 5 year old son was waiting for the cheese pizza so he can eat and go to bed!!! Now their solution to their problem was to Inconvience me and wait another hour?!?!!! My husband got on the phone to find out what was going on because I was so annoyed...he talked to the manager who was NOT willing to do anything except send another pizza...and they needed 75% of it back..so my son couldn't eat the cheese either! Sooo messed up! Nothing makes me more mad as when you pay money for something...a business messes up your order..and then makes you feel like you are doing something wrong by complaining about it. I'm sorry but pizza is not cheap..and I want my order right! and if it isn't right..by a mistake that they made..they should be willing to bend over backwards to make sure their regular customers are happy!!! We were presented this extravagant new menu from the Brookfield location over 6 months ago. Their other locations already serve it. Ask peeps on Phone and delivery folks....everytime they answer the question with 'A few weeks more's. Now months later, we send an email from their website asking about new menu...no replies after several attempts. Apparently Brookfield is not important. We have been loyal Paisans customers for several years. That being said, today we ordered a pizza that was not our "normal" choice, and while it was delivered EXACTLY as we ordered it, we called because we thought somehow the wrong ingredients were put on by mistake. The staff were extremely polite and offered to bring us the correct pizza via delivery at no charge. To my surprise, Val brought the pizza and while talking about our order with him it was confirmed that I indeed ordered the incorrect topping. So at this point I have 2 pizzas in my possession with the same topping which I wasn't crazy about, but knowing it was my fault I was hesitant to accept the 2nd pizza. As I was typing this review, I noticed another delivery man approach my house, and I answered to let him know that we had already received the replacement pizza that we called about. I was absolutely blown away when the delivery man said that they made a 3rd pizza which was one Val knew we meant to order in the 1st place. I can not put into words how I am grateful for such great customer service. Yes this is a review of a local pizza place, and maybe I am being over dramatic but the fact that they went through such work to make a single customer happy absolutely made my night! I wish I could give it a half star. This place has ok food. The pizza sauce is a bit on the sweet side. The real down side to this place is the staff. They hire young girls who have no service skills. We ordered a pizza and was told 45 mins. Got there 50 mins just as a good practice to make sure it would be ready. Was told it would be five more mins. Waited 15 mins, then inquired, was told a few more mins. I asked to speak to a manager, was told there was no manager there. Please who is running the place? Finally got my pizza. Was very irritated called the next day, no manager. Left my name and number no call back. We decided we will not do business there anymore. Lou Malnati's is now our fav. They don't honor their promotions. My son likes their pizza. I find the sauce to sweet. I saved about 30 tickets for my free cheese pizza and when I went to order they said that promotion stopped. I lived and have been a customer there for over 10 years. Order a pizza at least 2 times a month. You think they would let the customer know that a promotion is expiring and to use your tickets. The customer service has always been questionable. And the person who answered the phone didn't honestly care that I would no longer be back. When we arrived I tried to tell the lady behind the counter that their menu online thru the yelp smart phone app was not working and that I was surprised to see such a selection on the menu hanging on the wall when I walked into the place. I ordered a pizza tonight with NO CHEESE. When I picked it up, it was covered in parmigiana. When I went to return said pizza, the owner argued with me the parmigiana is not cheese. I hate to break it to you, but yes it is. They also make their sauce with cheese. When someone orders an item with no cheese, don't you think that would mean all cheese? Why not call the customer and say "there is cheese in the sauce". But no, it is obviously better customer service to argue about what they consider cheese. Poor service all the way around. read more

Some of the best pizza I've ever tasted. I prefer a sweeter sauce since most pizza places use canned sauces that add a lot of citric acid and chemicals I can't even pronounce. Paisans' sauce is thick and doesn't taste like it comes from a jar or can. You can tell they make their sauce in-house as it has a unique taste, which is indicative of the type of local water they use. This taste is prevalent in the dough as well. My boyfriend and I always order the thin crust pizza with three toppings: mushrooms, sausage and bacon. They have the best toppings! The sausage is delicious; tastes home made. The bacon is divine and I swear they put more than 5 lbs of cheese on each pizza! I highly recommend them if you live in the area. Unfortunately, we no longer live in Riverside, but if we're ever back in Chicagoland you bet we'll grab a slice of heaven! read more

The staff offered to cancel my order from the other location, fill my order while I waited so I wouldn't have to waste time and drive to the other site. 'Down to the wire'..... ...would be a clever title to this review... Let me start with a caveat of sorts... Most of the time when I ordered food from Paisans, it was late night delivery. Late night delivery from ANY restaurant is going to be questionable at times. Be it - tired workers that want to go party, closing duties taking away focus, trying to get several orders out for one last delivery run..whatever. I'm not making excuses for them, I'm just saying....your expectation has to be less than if you walked in during standard dinner hours. The other note is - more often than not, there were no problems, but there WERE a few -- as I will get to later on. I must make clear that given my overall frequency of late night delivery orders, I experienced relatively few issues. But for some people, one issue is all that it takes. THIS review is for you people. Paisans is one of the few restaurants in the area that delivers late...which is really nice. There is a fairly unserviced market for late night munchies, and Paisans delivers (pun intended). But that doesn't give them free reign to serve us poor hungry late night partiers crap. And luckily, they usually don't...otherwise I'd have a lot worse things to say. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly..... Let's start with the good... Great big menu - a lot of different options including all of your standard favorites 'Panzerotti' - (Paisans version of the P'zone) - if you have a taste for pizza but don't require an entire pizza, this is a good, relatively cheap alternative option. Very cheesy... Probably their best stuff can be found in their 'hot sandwiches' options... - I have tried most all of it, but let me point out a few great choices... -Veal Parmigiana sandwich - for less than $4, how can you go wrong? I have ordered it several times, and found it consistently great. -Patty Melt - really delicious and inexpensive -Gyros - there are other places nearby that compete, but I'll admit that Paisans does a pretty good job -Burgers - you really cant go wrong...how hard is a burger? They are good though. Mexican Food - You'd be surprised. I was frightened to try their Mexican options at first. The burritos are huge, but I could do without the mound of raw onions...and I like onions... takes a lot to make me say "easy does it on the onions..." The Bad... I make some allowances for delivery...but overall, I would grade their ability to deliver hot fresh food about a C (understanding that these are late, right before closing deliveries). They might be much better during relatively normal eating hours -- I cant say. Stay away from things that likely wont be the same delivered as they might be right out of the kitchen - for example - no potato skins, fries will get cold, no shrimp or fish, nachos, and so on. The Ugly.... It was a dark gloomy Saturday night when some friends and I became hungry. There were no delivery places left open, aside from Paisans. Despite my reluctance, due to previous cold delivery incidents, we decided to give them one more shot...and ordered a FEAST...almost everything on the menu (exaggeration). An hour later, the food came. Everything seemed up to par...maybe the fries were a tad cold...but you have to expect that. A friend of mine had heard about my late night delivery meals, and was excited to get a taste of the infamous and unpredictable Paisans -- ever conflicting reports...sometimes unbelievable (good), sometimes nightmarish. I recommended the Italian Beef....not easy to screw up...and overall, a fairly consistent sandwich from Paisans. As my friend drew up the sandwich for a bite, the two of us that had experienced Paisans previously, looked on in anticipation of his 1st bite. He took a huge bite...chewed a couple of times....and then suddenly, his face changed....and he stopped chewing. He reached into his mouth and slowly pulled out what appeared to be some sort of metal wire. He examined it for several more moments...then immediately spit out his food. Obviously, my friend was EXTREMELY unhappy at the result of his virgin taste of the Paisan Italian Beef. Upon closer examination, best I can tell, the wire may have belonged to one of those grill brushes....not too sure. In any event...a lot of food was wasted, due to the sudden lack of appetite by those that had ordered. I will admit, however, that after my friend left (the one that received the wire-laden beef), I DID finish MY meal. I was hungry!...and damnit! nothing seemed to be wrong with MY food. I was go for launch... I was concerned for my friend, but the way I eat, I've probably swallowed five or six wires already in my lifetime...among other things. We had a hankering for pizza and decided to try Paisan's because every time we drive pass it the place seems pretty busy. We live in town but wanted delivery. After reading the reviews I was a big hesitant but threw caution to the proverbial wind and made the call. The lady who answered was fine. No issues there. We had an early order; 530pm and I specifically asked how long it would be and she said less than an hour. 35 minutes later the pie arrived! I was relieved because after all the complaints on Yelp I was worried. Then I opened the box and everything looked fine. Unfortunately we just didn't care for the overly sweet sauce and giant onion chunks. The customer service and delivery were awesome. Too bad we didn't care for the pizza. I have been a Paisan's customer for many years - pretty much since they opened. I travel 16 miles to get there because they have the best pizza on the planet - love the sweet sauce. I admit the place could have used a "sprucing up" before the big remodel but they have really blown it. Eating there is like eating in the basement of a factory in the Soviet Union. Cold! Ugly! It has been transformed from a cozy family place to one where you may be afraid to enter without a hard hat. This is one of my local Pizza places and for the most part it's OK pizza. I go there maybe once every couple of months, last time I was at the park and called ahead to place an order, they told me 30 minutes and I showed up 30 minutes later, when I showed up the first thing the cashier tells me is that I am early, no I was not, but fine I let it slide, I ended up waiting for 40 extra minutes for that pie, something tells me they forgot to make it and did not have the decency to apologize and be honest about what had happened, if I hadn't paid already I would have left, there is no reason for a pie to take one hour and 10 minutes to be ready, specially when there were only two more customers over there. I think this is the last time I will go to that location. In the end the pizza isn't even that good. read more

I've lived in Brookfield for over a decade and had never tried Paisans until yesterday. I was sorely disappointed. We ordered mozzarella sticks as an appeitizer along with out meal and ten minutes later we had to ask where they were. The waitress said she would check and they would be out shortly. The meal came out and I had the chicken fettuccine. The plate looked like someone had finished boiling the pasta, put it in the bowl, and then squirted some tomato sause on it. There was no fettuccine sauce at all and I had to dig to the bottom to find 4 very small pieces of chicken. It was bland and tasteless. The mozzarella sticks arrived during the meal which cluttered the table. My daughter had mac and cheese and a chocolate milk. She loves mac and cheese. She barely touched her bowl though, saying it tasted funny and that she also didn't want her chocolate milk. I checked her cup and it didn't look like chocolate milk, it looked like soy milk. It tasted like milky water. If that's what was used in the mac and cheese I understand why she didn't touch her meal. The overall experience was not worth the +$65 tab for a family of four. Paisans' is okay for pizza in the Brookfield area. Their sauce is unique; it's very sweet. The crust is a little thick and if you don't eat it right away, it becomes chewy. I rarely eat their pizza; however, I've eaten there on many occasions...mostly fresh salads. They are pretty good for the size and price of the greens. The antipasto salad is my favorite. We're new to the area and ordered a pizza from here tonight because we had a coupon. We were very impressed by the pizza. Sauce was tasty with tons of cheese. The atmosphere is really cool. I'm a sucker for exposed brick. The drinks are pretty overpriced but the Mustang Sally was kinda tasty. The bruschetta wasn't good at all. The pizza tasted like you would get at Chuck E. Cheese. I guess if you're into that kinda thing definitely come here! We had the lava cake for dessert, and that was delicious and moist.
