I feel silly adding a review to an already 5 star profile, but I have to give recognition where it is due. We were on a super tight close schedule and I called 3 termite companies trying to schedule an inspection. Two of the companies never returned my call, the 3rd gave me an appointment two weeks down the road. My hubby found a tag where Palomar had come out to our home previously. When I called and explained what I needed, they made it happen. They were out the next day doing an inspection. The cost was reasonable for the repairs, and they walked us through what was needed and why. I can't express just how easy they made a very difficult time. I would highly recommend! read more

We highly recommend using Palomar Termite & Pest Control. We had an outstanding experience with Mike Jr. and Rhonda. We originally received a referral from a friend , who received a referral from a neighbor , and we won't use anyone else for any pest control or termite issue that should ever come up. We had Palomar Termite come out for what seemed to be subterranean termites. Rhonda was very prompt to return my call and was really patient with our questions over the phone, and reassuring of our concerns. When Mike Jr. called us , although it is a very busy time for the company, Mike Jr. squeezed us in even in the midst of a medical appointment he had. He arranged to come the very next day . On the phone , Mike was very reassuring and was educating us on a few details, even before he even was able to get there. When he came to our house, he was the consummate professional... courteous, honest, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. After a thorough examination, he determined the culprits to be not termites , but rather some sort of ant. Mike is as good as it gets. Honest, hard working and old school. He came out for a FREE second opinion termite inspection. The first guy was here 5 minutes and said you have to tent! Mike was here 30 minutes and said he couldn't find any trace of termites in the place the 1st guy reported. Hands down- we go with PALOMAR! I was very pleased with the service provided by this company. The service tech, Mark was on time and well prepared. He was careful to explain the treatment he was going to do inside and outside the house. My wife and I were very concerned about the chemicals because of our young children and pets. Mark was very reassuring that everything was safe and took the extra time to make sure my dog was out of his way. Mark also gave some additional advice on removing snails. Because of the great service that we had received, I decided to go with a monthly service. We back up to a canyon and agreed with Mark's expertise in fighting the ants and spiders. This review is just for a bid for some termite repairs. I did not have them do any work because their bid came in at over 3 times even the next highest bid, and there weren't proposing anything more than all the other companies I got bids from. The work may be good, but I doubt it was going to be 3 times as good, we're not just talking about a couple hundred dollars either. read more

broke a ton of tiles during tenting and took no responsibility. These guys tented our new home which has a concrete tile roof. My roofer went up on the roof prior to tenting to get a baseline of broken tiles before the tenting and gave me an estimate. After the tenting, when the roofer went up again to repair the broken tile, he noticed that they had broken over 300 extra tiles!!! As a result, my roof bid went up by 50%. I called my roofer and asked about what was normal breakage during tenting and he told me that ordinarily with this kind of roof - which he repairs post-tenting all the time, he expects to see an extra 30-50 tiles broken by the termite company, as one can't avoid breaking at least some tiles. And every once in a while when the tiles are in bad shape to begin with, he's seen 100 broken tiles. But he has NEVER seen 300 broken tiles in all his years doing this, and suggested this is pure negligence. When I called Marty at Palomar and told him this, all he did was apologize, and said that his guys are as careful as they can be, and that this sometimes happens, and took absolutely no responsibility and did not help us with any of the excess cost. I will never use these guys again, and recommend that you don't either if you care about your roof at all. Awful!!! Would give them zero stars if I could. read more

Can I put NO STARS!?!?! I recently sold my house and the seller requested Palomar Termite to perform the inspection and subsequent tenting. UGHHH!!! They are completely unprofessional! I had stated the tent could not go on until AFTER June 1st. Well, they scheduled it for June 1st. When I called to follow up as to the date and time, they said it was already tented, which it wasn't. They hired a subcontractor to perform the work and when the sub called, they had NO information, so I had to repeat everything yet again. The only people in the house were the subs and somehow they left the refrigerator door OPEN! Could they not hear the beeping of the frig alarm????? Also missing expensive carbon monoxide alarm! Seriously! When I called the office to find out if they possibly moved it into a cabinet, I was told "so swamped, not sure if I can get to that right now"...when I was closing on that day. read more

Marty from Palomar came out on time and asked me some questions about my attic rodent problem . He then looked around the outside of the house and the attic . I told him where I think they are climbing up the side of the house to the roof. Marty was polite and not pushy .He took the time to explain on a very hot summer day what is needed and what it would cost to control the problem. Later I checked for an estimate with another pest control company and they had similar treatment and costs. The other company made me feel pressure that I have to act now to get the deal and control the problem. I haven't decided yet on a company as some recommend contracts which are less per month . I would highly recommend Marty from Palomar Pest Control to be considered as one of your choices for an estimate. read more
