    So delicious inside
    Michael S.

The sweet square croissant was on my list of things to eat on this trip to NYC and this was a great place to experience it. I would like to offer the suggestion of cutting the pastry in half through the middle and eating like an open faced sandwich as cutting into pieces was very difficult and didn't give the full experience in each bite. Once I knew how it was on the inside I cut it and picked up and was way easier to eat. This is a big pastry and is very filling, goes excellent with an espresso! The Dubai chocolate cupcake thing is really good and very rich and delicious. Creamy and dense the flavors of pistachios and chocolate are very pleasing and the crunchy chocolate cookie on the bottom and crunchy noodles inside make for a texture treat! Served with a smile and information about the items available was pleasantly offered so we could make sure we made the right decisions. The chocolate lobster tail was delicious but needed more filling but the texture was amazing!

I was looking for a place in Midtown to chat with a friend. Without going to Starbucks. Food & Drink: 2/5 I only ordered a juice and was surprised it rang up over $5. It tasted fine--just sweeter than I like--but in NYC you almost expect to pay a premium if you want to sit for a while. Vibes: 1/5 Unfortunately, the vibe took a turn when a homeless person came in and stole someone's bag. Staff stayed calm (clearly not the customers) and the bag was eventually recovered, but it was unsettling. There's no Wi-Fi either, which was disappointing since it looks like a place you could work from. All in all, convenient seating and decent drinks, but the high price and that jarring incident soured the experience. I probably wouldn't go back unless I needed an emergency spot to sit for a quick chat.

Discovered Pan d'oro on social media. We probably didn't order the right things; wasn't too impressed with this place. If you're used to lattes being kind of sweet, do NOT order the pistachio latte. I have a feeling it's a traditional Italian latte; adding sugar didn't help much and there barely any pistachio flavor. Got the lobster tail. The pistachio cream was good, but didn't expect the pastry to be too crunchy (thought it would be croissant texture). Caprese foccacia was ok, nothing special. Had better foccacia elsewhere before. Also no bathroom at this cafe. Would not come back.

One of the best things about the city are the numerous amounts of coffee shops and eateries. Passed by this spot and just had to pop in! Had a small cappuccino with oat milk (only way the have it) and a staff member suggested the croissant with pistachio cream. Cappuccino was good, the croissant was filling, fresh, flaky and baked oh so right. The cream, however, was a bit too sweet for me. It was delish and I would totally try again! Croissant and cappuccino were $15.

Just tried this newly opened Italian café just steps away from Bryant Park--and it's a must-visit! They serve up premium fresh pastries, pizzas, Bombolones, buttery croissants, rich coffee, ice latte and more. The prosciutto is top-notch, and the bombolone? Pure heaven--so creamy inside! Whether you're on a lunch break or just craving a sweet treat, this spot is worth checking out. Highly recommend! Featuring: Croissant with pistachio chantilly cream Bombolone Filled with mascarpone Schiacciata San Daniele Prosciutto San Daniele, arugula, fresh mozzarella and fresh tomatoes Iced almond tiramisu latte Iced lavender latte

Stopped in for a quick Americano although my Sicialian heart wished I was hungry because their pastries looked amazing!! So many pistachio pasties, so little time.

The wife and I stopped in here to get a real cannoli with real cannoli cream. Holy smokes it was good. I don't understand why we can't get this cream anywhere else except New York City and New Jersey. Right now.

This thing is huge and oh so delicious!

Everything is delicious! My favorite was the square, chocolate dipped croissant filled with cream and a little chocolate cream. Heavenly!!

Croissants are good, coffee was okay no to much a fan. Team was nice too. No enough seats.

The Rolly Croissant and Espresso are AMAZING! Friendly service and cute little vibe! Will definitely be back to try more!

    Bomboloni. My favorite!

This is my new favorite cafe. The food was so good. My favorites were the thick slices of banana bread that was baked perfectly and the Bomboloni. I saw the bakery on my way to Grand Central and had to return because of how good the pastries looked in the window. After tasting the Bomboloni, I knew I had to return again. I treated myself to a visit to Pan D'oro the three days that I was in the city. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This is a delightful break in the day.

This is a slice of Zucinni and Mushroom pizza at $6.50-ish. It was very tasty.

BUT, my husband and I recently took a trip to Paris and I also love pain aux raisins. To our delight, Cafe Bilboquet has those too, so my friend and I each had a small coffee and a pain aux raisins. The pastry was as good as any that my husband and I had in Paris! I've also had lunch here with a couple of other friends in recent months. They have a good variety of pretty authentic French sandwiches and some quiches, eggs, etc. Not inexpensive, but the food is top-notch. You order at the counter, then move up to the cashier, tell them what your order is and pay for it. If you're lucky, as we were around 9:45 this morning, you'll get one of the little round tables where you can sit and chat and relax; in good weather there are some tables outside as well; a lovely boulangerie or patisserie experience!

Upon getting closer to the door, I learned it's part of Le Bilboquet restaurant on the same block. It wasn't too crowded when I visited on a Tuesday mid-afternoon. Every table except 1 was full, but most people were heading outside on such a beautiful day with their drinks and pastries. The cafe is very cute and French. They have so many pastries I couldn't decide, so I ordered a pain au chocolat and tea. They serve Harney & Sons teas. This is a lovely spot, and I'll return to try more.

We started with a bottle of the Alsace wine, which perfectly complemented our food and the Parisian vibe. I opted for the omelette with Gruyère which was delicious, although I found myself very full by the end, as it came with two sides. The fries were a must-have -- so crispy, salty & fresh. I'd recommend that at least one person at the table order them, but the portion is pretty generous. :) The service was nice, albeit a bit slow at times. However, the staff was friendly and the overall atmosphere is chill -- we weren't in a rush at all!
