This is a super cute coffee shop right in the heart of Livermore. The decor is relaxing and transports you to a much more tropical mindset, making it a pleasant place to sit and sip. Servers are very nice and seem to enjoy their job and clients. I like their coffee but i drink everything black so at some point a fancy black coffee is a fancy black coffee. Went on a Sunday afternoon and the place had a lot of moving crowd. decided to get a mango pineapple smoothie. The staff was patient in answering my question about the smoothie. The pricing is as good as any other stores around. The smoothie was freshly made which is always prefer and it tasted good, there were some frozen fruit pieces at the bottom but i dont mind that at all. The place has one restroom and has one person waiting most times, but it's in the center of the city so everyone's using it! Will go back if i am in the area! read more

If you're in a rush... do not go here. They take forever to make your food. Always waiting longer than 20 minutes and if they don't have your bagel in stock they won't start it until you pick up.. at least call and let them know they're out of certain bagel. Quality coffee though. read more

4+ pretty fun and cool coffee spot in the hustle bustle area of downtown Livermore. My brother and I stopped here after dinner because I was about to take a long drive and I needed some caffeine. We both got some poor overs which take a little long as you would expect but they were super good. The folks here or friendly and helpful. Also, it was a Friday night and they were setting up for a trivia night. Which seems to be pretty popular as people are coming in and waiting in the area. We were invited to join as well. Nobody does blended coffee drinks better than Panama Bay Coffee! Yes, they are that good, better than any Frappuccino, Frappé or Freeze (not to call out their nationally recognized competitors by name) but at Panama Bay Coffee, they create some of the best handcrafted blended coffee drinks that I have ever had. Located on the corner of First and South K Streets in the heart of downtown Livermore, Panama Bay Coffee is a coffee shop franchise that has a tropical vibe as exemplified by the flavors that they add to their coffee drinks. With four locations throughout the Bay Area, I first became familiar with the coffee and treats being served at Panama Bay Coffee when their newest location in downtown Walnut Creek along North California Boulevard opened a year ago and when I did a little more digging a saw that Panama Bay Coffee had additional locations in addition to this new location in Walnut Creek, I made it my mission to get to all of their locations when I got the chance to. When I just happened to be in the city limits of Livermore I decided that today was the day in which I was going to get to this location. Just finding was a bit of a challenge as I am unfamiliar with the cozy confines of downtown Livermore and discovered that it is quite the happening place with a plethora of coffee shops, restaurants and stores all thriving with customers, with the only drawback being that finding a parking space even on a Sunday afternoon would be a significant challenge. Although I did have to park a few blocks away and had to walk to get here, I was so glad that I made it, as they were actually filled with a decent amount of customers both inside and outside of their café, as it was a relatively warm day to enjoy a nice chilled coffee drink. The menu at Panama Bay Coffee is so varied as it is separated into categories including Sammies, which were either served on an English Muffin or Toasted Bagel; Island Vibes which are their versions of homemade energy drinks; Coffee and Conos, which are their pour overs; Expressos; Teas and Hot Cocoas; and their Blended Drinks, which includes their Breezes, Shakes and Fruit Smoothies. They also have a not so secret Special menu, which focuses on seasonal flavored Lattes, Mochas and Lemonades. Of course, since I have been here before, I came for their White Mocha Breeze, which is their iced blended espresso drink with a white chocolate flavor, of which I ordered medium size which is sixteen ounces and my barista asked if I wanted to add beans and whipped cream to my drink and of course I said yes. Since I was going to meet a friend, I decided to order a second drink for them as the Breeze Caramel sounded right up their alley, as it was their iced blended espresso drink with a caramel flavor, as a small size, which is twelve ounces, and again topped with blended beans and whipped cream. It didn't take too long for my drinks to be handcrafted by their team as I sat at one of their high-top tables to wait for my takeout order to be made. Once I did, I could not resist drinking my White Mocha Breeze upon receiving it, and it was a sweet delicious delight! My friend really loved their handcrafted Breeze Caramel, as they remarked it was better than any place else they have had a blended coffee drink. My total bill was $11.20 before gratuity was added in, which was on the pricier side, but well worth it, once you consider how nicely crafted their drinks are. What I really wanted on this visit was to try their signature cookies as every time I visit their sister location in Walnut Creek, they have always been the best part of my experience, as they are dense without being overindulgent, but alas there was not a cookie to be found on this day, as all they had were muffins and turnovers. All of the more reasons to come back to this location of Panama Bay Coffee, as they are creating some of the most wonderful handcrafted blended drinks, with or without coffee, that is a must for any lover of shakes and smoothies to taste just once in their lives! read more

This place is pretty great. I ordered the mud dark roast, they graciously put it in a mug when I asked. It tasted very sweet for a dark roast and I realized when I finished it they had put some sort of sugar in the bottom. Not my ideal as when I drink a dark roast I want to experience the flavor. I would go back and try the mocha. Pour over took a while as it usually does. Extensive menu. If you are not in a hurry this is a good spot in a world of Starbucks and Peet's. Good music, a little loud though to enjoy inside seating. read more

The food and coffee are good. I have two critiques. First, they offer gluten free pastries but keep them in the same case (often touching) the gluten pastries. They use the same tongs for both. This means the pastries are absolutely not safe for anyone with allergies. Second, the bathroom is disgusting. I stopped coming because it was so gross. There is a thick coating of dust on everything, the toilet has old pee all over it, and there was blood smear on the wall for at least two weeks. Clean your bathroom! My kid pointed out the blood one weekend, I mentioned it to the Aug and two weeks later it was still there. I wiped it with a wet paper towel and it came off. That's nasty and inexcusable. If you can't keep a bathroom sanitary and advertise gluten free foods that are covered in gluten, I don't trust anything else you prepare. read more

Tried on my lunch break from work, I got a blended caramel breeze and it was fantastic! You can tell the coffee beans are high quality and strong. They blended some beans into the coffee, which I like but some might not enjoy the texture. The caffeine is strong and had me wide awake for the rest of work! The taste was not sugary at all. Made for true coffee drinkers. I suggest if you like more milk or sugar that you ask for a little more because their drinks tend to be on the stronger side. The only downside to this spot is the location. Right in the middle of downtown makes it hard to find a place to park or to get in & out quickly. But the coffee was worth spending my whole lunch break for. read more

i got a banana bread latte & it tasted disgusting. For one i tasted nothing but espresso & milk. it's supposed to have white chocolate, hazelnut & banana syrup & i tasted none of that. Food is great and lots of gluten free options. The whole 1st row is gluten free. However I do have to comment on the service and customer service. These girls that run the store are rude and not friendly. They give back handed comments to the customers and once you leave the store they like to talk their shit. My family and I ordered drinks and food. When I left to go set my things down outside and then returned back in they were talking shit about us and immediately shut up once they realized I was standing there. Panama recently has gone through a major overhaul of both their store interior and their menu and it seems they are rebranding. The new storefront is nice and has a more modern look. At first I had mixed feelings about the change in menu, since one of the things I loved about this cafe was their unique coffee drinks. However, it seems they have kept some of (such as the snickerdoodle) on their menu and there was a sign saying "ask about our 'secret menu'". From my understanding they still can make items from their old menu, it's just not heavily advertised, which is a good compromise in my opinion. Drinks: Their drinks have always been a strong pull as they all are creative combinations with amazing quality. My favorite was their Mr. Rabbit (now presumably on their secret menu?). This time I tried a new addition, the "banana bread latte" which was excellent. Food: I have had their food many times, however I haven't tried it since they have updated. It was great previously but it seems they have simplified their food menu a bit which hopefully means a same level of quality. Service: I have never been met with anything other than a smile here. The preface here is - it is Sunday on Farmer's Market day, it my first visit sitting inside. I rarely sit in coffee shops these days. So maybe things have changed. Long line to order. We wanted the last ham and cheese croissant, paid and sat down to wait and the waiting was longer than one should have to wait. The order taker was very clear there was only one left and any order for a Sammi could not be made with a croissant because they were out of croissants all together. I noticed cold drinks were being made much faster. Finally our order gets called but only to say they sold the ham and cheese croissant out from under us ! We were offered a refund or a substitute. But he could have grabbed the croissant and labeled it just like he did with our cups. When did offering a real cup end? Is it more sustainable to use real dishes? So much paper flying out of coffee shops. It's so sad that the lack of available workforce everywhere also means that we have lowered our bar on the type of service we receive. This is not a particular slam on this place..... it's are new reality but I still have hope that workers, will want to work, learn and provide excellent customer service. My Queendom for the resurgence of independent coffee/espresso bars!!! I nearly went to Peet's since I was at the comic shop, but then remembering this gem was nearby. We walked over, and I'm so happy we did. Service here is lovely, the staff is helpful in describing various drinks. This is my favorite coffee place when I visit downtown Livermore. The baristas are super sweet and friendly, and the coffee tastes like how I like my men- bold and strong! I ordered the Java breeze with a little almond flavoring and it was delicious. Not too watery or milky and a great coffee flavor came through, which is difficult to taste when ordering an ice blended coffee. Liked it so much I went twice in one day! When I needed to get some work done in Livermore, Panama Bay was the perfect place to set up shop. I started the morning with a sausage egg and cheese sandwich (~$7). It was made fresh (vs a frozen heated up sandwich) and hot. Also it was pretty decently sized for me. I didn't finish it in one go and had the rest as a snack later in the day. The line and cafe was pretty busy in the morning around 10am though so there was a small wait. Later in the afternoon I came back to get some more work done. This time I just went with their ginger cookie ($2). It was soft and chewy and pretty big. The flavor was very gingery - a little too much for me - and had a more grainy texture. I'll prob skip that one for next time and try one of their other pastries. They've got lots of seating in the cafe and outside. Also love that their windows open so there's a lot of air flow. That probably helps a lot in the summertime! I'll have to try a coffee from their secret menu next time! read more

We've been coming here for several weeks after the farmers market on Sunday in downtown Livermore. Unfortunately, they are extremely overstaffed and waiting in line about a half hour to order a drink and then another at least 15 minutes or more to get your drink. They are severely understaffed on Sunday mornings When we arrive here about a half hour ago there was one person on the register and one person making drinks with at least 12 people in online waiting to order I really want to support a local business but it's difficult. You have to wait 45 minutes to an hour to get a coffee. People working here or trying hard but they just can't work fast enough. read more
