So I'm starving & I see this pizza place . I go in & order two pepperoni slices & a drink . I'm watching the activity behind the counter . Maybe 7 or 8 minutes go by & the kid still hasn't put the slices in the oven . I finally asked how long it would take . He answered 2 minutes. I said , oh that's seems a short amount of time , but ok . I'll be outside in my car . I get my drink & go outside . Literally 2 minutes later the kid came out with a box . Now , it takes more than 2 minutes to melt cheese on a slice that's been sitting in a plastic box on display . The slices were not cut apart . So I had to go back in a ask them to separate the Siamese twins so I could actually eat the slices . The cheese was just warm & greasy . Not hot & melted . Now each slice is $5.00 each + the drink . The soda selection is good , but the syrup is turned way down , so it's more like seltzer . I ate the food anyway. I was hungry & after all the waiting & heat & frustration of being hungry & the food preparation & spending $13.00 for this greasy cold pizza & flat soda , I felt ill . I understand that having a business especially a food business is hard work however there are so many pizza places in Walnut Creek and nearby and the competition I am sure is intense. The way I see things Pancoast pizza has been in business for quite sometime. I am a reasonable customer. In this situation, I used the online order APP, the time I put in from ordering to actually walking out the door was almost 3 hours. In my first review I left out the time I ordered the pizza. I have ordered pizzas from just about all of Walnut Creek and cities nearby. I don't mean to rub it in but close to three hours is a bit much. I didn't ask to speak to a manager because the ambiance was not welcoming and slightly friendly. When I arrived to pick up my pizza the restaurant had a few customers and to my surprise didn't appear to be busy. I didn't see customers picking up pizzas. I had inspired to be a restaurant owner many years ago and I thought, if food didn't get to my customers at a decent time then I would do my best to salvage that one customer by offering an incentive to make up for my customers time because everyone's time is valuable. I left a tip at the time I placed my order and in doing this I believe motivates employees to deliver good service. I wasn't even offered plates or napkins to say the least. Just saying the pizza business competition in Walnut Creek is booming. I am simply disappointed that my business didn't mean much to Pancoast pizza. Yelp allowed me to vent but at the same time point out to the owners/management that customer service needs improvement. read more

Good.. Not great and certainly not New York pizza. It's kinda like every restaurant in the bay that says they have New England clam chowder... they don't! Both close but any true east coast person knows that the crust should never be crispy! It should always bend and grease should be flowing! Here the crust is always crispy sometimes it's greasy other times the cheese just comes off in a chunk. My original intent was to purchase pizza dough. Was told that they sold just the dough and since we recently purchased a Traeger bbq, well...but I digress. While waiting I noticed the big slices and was drawn to the veggie slice. Ordered a slice and it was worth it. Nice crust, good flavor and I really liked the pesto sauce. On the subject of the dough, you have two size choices and it was very good and it was a great price. It is a tiny spot in a busy road, but timing is key. Overall, we really like this place but just a warning that if you order chicken on a salad, it is smoked chicken. It looks uncooked, is slimy, and smells a bit like ham/pancetta. I found it really gross and it ruined my meal but others may enjoy it. Would have liked to have know the preparation before ordering, as I was expecting grilled chicken. Pizza, however, is great and best we've had in the area. Definitely reminds us more of east coast pizza since the owner is originally from there. read more

Great place to grab a slice or a whole pizza for the Fam. I had seen this place and always drive by it wondering if it was legit. My colleague at work said it was worth checking out and I was glad I did. We got a Pepperoni and mushroom Stromboli and a Brooklyn pizza with Spicy sausage. I tried calling in a order, but the phone was never answered. I went in and saw they had a constant line but they were very friendly. I also had gotten a free drink with a Yelp check in. We waited for the order but it seemed pretty fast considering how busy they were. The crust was thin and the pizza was on point. We should have purchased 2 Strombolis because the one we got didn't last. The place had nice looking salads and I will definitely go again and try more of their pizzas. Aww man. I was really looking forward to this one. The pictures in advertisement looked amazing. Had it delivered today and I'm pretty disappointed. The pizzas I ordered were an absolute mess. Nearly all of the toppings fell right off my first slice as I pulled it from the box (cheese and all). The sauce seemed watered down and flavorless which made every bite a bland soggy disaster. I feel horrible because I really want restaurants and businesses to do well in these times but damn this was bad. 5 stars for excellence. My favorite was the garlic knot! I can probably keep eating them if they're in from of me, it was so soft. If they approached me and asked how was my hogey sandwich, I would have said in my gordon Ramsay accent that, it was utterly tasteless and dreadful, i looked at the dough and it was charred with little black soot, and the meatballs, fake and rubbery as it can get. Ordered online, their link on their website to order online is broken, the HTML is all messed up and if you actually want to make sense of their online ordering you have to go directly to eat24 to order. Okay, minor issue, whatever. They have a little countdown on their ordering site, after I had ordered I was thinking it was taking awhile, and I went to check. An hour and 20 minutes had passed. Thankfully a few minutes later the driver did show up. But seriously, an hour and half to get 1 pizza, and 1 meatball? WOW, they are 3 miles away. That meatball I talked about pretty lame honestly, glad I only got one for $1.25 cause it was very bland, let my dog finish it. The garlic ties were cool I guess, I ordered 2 but got 3, so either they gave me an extra one, or 1 order is 2 and the driver took 1 of them or something lol. And then there is the pizza. I got the meat one and well, the first thing I noticed was how burnt some of the crust was. Not a little burnt, but like back around the entire edge. For a $28 pizza I got burnt crust, awesome, crust is one of my favorite things, hence getting more bread sticks since I love bread. The pizza itself tastes alright, there isn't anything special about it. The cheese isn't stringy, it's the cheap kind that hardens up and falls off in chunks. Yeah, I don't think I had a very good experience, so I wouldn't recommend it from this order online, doubt I'll spend the expensive cost again to try it out. I'd rather get Roccos, heck the cheaper and much faster Mountain Mikes beats this experience for these prices, that is for sure. Talk about a greasy, New York style pizza! On the way back from the Scottish Games in Plesanton, found this spot on Yelp. Easy to get to right off the freeway, right before the main shopping area in Walnut Creek. Small building that shares a parking lot with a massage place. Walked in expecting to hear some Italian music or something Top 40, but instead we were welcomed by about 4 guys in their 20s-30s all listening to rap. It was a surprise to us! :) The husband ordered us a Meatza'zola to try and we sat down at one of the open tables inside (there are a couple outside). It took maybe 25ish minute for our pizza but it was piping hot when it was brought to our table. Definitely delivered on taste! I am more of a Chicago deep dish fan myself, but this was a great thin crust! My only gripe-the plates! Ask for extra because I'm sure the grease from your pizza will make your plate weak before you even finish the first slice. I say triple up because the plates are the flimsy, cheap paper kinds that you take out for company you're not fond of. ;) read more

This small pizza joint located in the south side of Walnut creek specializes in New York style pizza i.e. thin big slices that you usually need to fold in half in order to eat. I came here with a coworker and we both ordered the lunch combo for $8.00. The combo comes with a slice of any pizza you want, a choice of either an organic greens salad or a Caesar salad, and a small drink. The pizzas are on display but they don't just cut you off a slice and serve it to you. Instead they throw it in the oven first, guaranteeing that it's hot and bubbly for you to eat. The pizza was a little bit greasy as was expected but none the less awesome. The salad was the star of my meal though. It was a good Caesar salad anyways, but the amount of freshly shaved Parmesan that was mixed in made this good salad great. read more

Disgusting pizza :( When I opened the box I was extremely disappointed by the low quality ingredients, flavorless sauce, and the worst crust I have ever had. Last time we ordered from Pancoast Pizza the pizzas were just A-OK and they didn't omit the onions like we asked (sad face). Since I have a restaurant dot com certificate and we were too lazy to cook on a Sunday night, we decided to give it another try. We called and ordered a small Julie's pizza (vegetarian) for take out and they told us it was $18 plus tax. When we pointed out that the website it states $16 for a small pizza they informed us that they just recently increased their prices. I asked if they would still honor their website prices and they were agreeable. 30 minutes later, we arrived to pick up our pizza. It was still kept in the oven to stay warm which we appreciated. Since I just remembered we had to stop by Target afterwards and didn't want our pizza to get cold, we decided to just eat in instead. This place is casual and laidback and has that small diner feel. With only a few small tables and chairs inside, seems like most people get their pizza to go because almost all the tables were available. Turns out this was a great idea because I like my pizza HOT and cheesy (that stretchy stringy cheese when you pull a piece off, yum). Julie's is a great pizza: roasted mushrooms, spinach, garlic, 4 kinds of cheese. I wish the crust was a little crunchier because I love my thin crust pizza with a slightly crunchy crust but that's just me. The service was friendly, we were kinda full on the small but maybe another slice each would do the trick. I think a vegan option would be nice too! read more

OMG Fabulous pizza!!!! I have a lot of food restrictions and end up eating a lot of cheese-less, sauce-less pizza. I was so happy to see that panCoast offered goat cheese! I ordered a small pizza with no sauce, smoked chicken, mushroom, and goat cheese. I can't fully explain how delicious the pizza was! I ate 4 of the 6 pieces and I could have eaten the whole thing except for the fact that I wanted to save the rest for lunch the next day (I also had the organic salad, yummy)!
