Not one of the most heralded boba places in SF, Panda Boba is still a cozy spot off of San Bruno. It lacks decoration and seating, but it's a really good spot to pop in and grab a cup of boba for the road. Their service is reaaaaaally quick (mostly because there usually isn't a line), but that doesn't dampen the quality of the tea. It's flavorful, but not out of your mind sweet like some places are in Chinatown. I usually get the milk tea or the thai tea, skip on the boba, and leave quite satisfied! One knock on them is that their pricing is slightly confusing. They have different prices posted on the board from what they charge. Their mango and coconut slushie is good but they can't accomplish a decent milk tea. I ordered a large boba milk tea and it is extremely watered down and hardly has any flavor. The boba is soggy and limp. What a waste of $3.50. Update: 20 minutes later I finished the boba milk tea and I can say that it's literally the worst boba milk tea I've ever had in my life. I really wanted to like this place as I have been searching for a decent milk tea shop near by; Sharetea, while my favorite in SF, does not warrant a 20 minute drive just for boba. Unfortunately, the milk tea here is not good. I ordered the jasmine milk tea boba with pearl and the taro milk tea with egg pudding. Both came out to be $2.75 for each cup including the topping. I felt like I was drinking water with the jasmine milk tea. It lacks completely in tea flavor. The taro milk tea was a smidgen better, probably because they used more taro powder than they do "tea". So while it was not good, it was not as watery as the jasmine milk tea. I don't know why people operate a milk tea shop if they are going to dilute their tea so much that people can't even taste it. :( Is tea really that expensive? Used to be Quickly. They re-opened as Panda Boba recently. YAY!!!! The owner and storekeeper are the same people that used to be there since years ago. Boba/pear is sweet and perfect shape & consistency, although it is a bit smaller in size than Quickly's. Pricing is the same as before. $2 for milk tea with boba. I went during a rainy Saturday at noon. They had just started on orders for a family of 4 that were there before I entered. I settled on just getting a large Mango Milk Tea w/ no tapioca or ice. The wait wasn't long, the family got their drinks ~5 minutes later and I got mine really soon after. The cashier and the person who made my drink/handed it to me were both polite. The drink itself was fine and to my liking. I've got nothing negative to say about it. I've been here twice in the last 2 weeks. I ordered the Peach Green Tea with lychee jelly. That's usually my go to drink at other tea places. Theirs is one of the best. I will be going back. Don't change the recipe! Just the right amount of flavor and ice. There is a lot of competition in the neighborhood with quite a few drink places to choose from. With the crazy amount of boba places in the city, I'm disappointed that this one was mostly just okay, especially in a very asian neighborhood, you'd think it would taste more authentic, but my thai tea with egg pudding was wayyyy too sweet and the thai tea flavor was too subtle. read more

I order mango and Oreo boba tea. The mango one was very very sweet and tasted like mango powder. The Oreo tea tasted very watered down which was disappointed because I was looking forward to Oreo tea. Another thing is that they added WAY to much ice. I felt that they should have asked if I wanted ice or not and not just add it. It really took up a lot of beverage space. Personally speaking, I would not go back. Panda panda panda! when I go there we always order the fried squid it's really good! The seasoning is always flavorful and spicy! Super fire. We order honeydew milk tea with boba and taro with lychee. Parking is always a bishhhh but it's the city. You already know the deal. The staff are friendly and the service is fairly quick. This place was Quicklys before and they just changed the design of the menu. Some prices are different, but as far as the menu goes its pretty much the same as the one they had when they were Quicklys. It's always the same 3 workers whenever I go but they are all very friendly. If you are looking for a quick snack or drink this is a good place to come. The portion for the popcorn chicken specifically is bigger than quicklys and teaway. I basically only get the popcorn chicken and honey dew milk tea when I come . I have tried popcorn chicken everywhere but this place gives you the most for your dollar and it taste pretty good too! One note is that parking can be hard to find sometimes it gets really crowded down at san bruno. read more

I usually don't write bad reviews, especially for food. This was very unexpected. We decided last minute and got in. The ladies there were very unprofessional. I am not sure whether they were tired or not but they treated me like I was an inconvenience to them. I understand if it was a long day but they don't have to treat me like this. I was trying to be very polite but the lady asked me 3 times to repeat my order. I was looking around and out of nowhere she smacked a boba on the table and went away. I was not sure whether it was mine or someone else so my nephew (which btw was visiting me and was very embarrassed) asked and she never responded. I told him to take it and let's go. When we got out the strawberry was all stuck at the bottom and the boba was very hard and chewy (old probably). Horrible experience + embarrassment in front of my guests. This is a previous Quickly location, so I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. The drinks and tapioca actually taste better than Quickly. The pearls have a good consistency and the drinks were not overly sweet. The drinks are typical syrup and powder flavors. I do wish the new owners would clean the place more. I always get my Jasmine Milk Tea runs here before work. I'm so glad they now accept debit cards because I don't always carry cash but I always crave this before working. My fav here is the Jasmine Milk Tea and don't forget the coffee jelly. Best coffee jelly I've ever had. I used to get the regular size but throughout time, I started upgrading and now I get the Super size which is big but it lasts me throughout work. I've been here on over 10 occasions and each time I've received exactly what I've asked for. They readily have specialty teas like chrysanthemum and pink rose bud tea available. They know what they're doing and the customer service here is top notch. I come here every week with my friend. Don't get me wrong the drinks are amazing and it will keep you coming back for more. However, as I got my usual order of popcorn chicken to go. I took a bite out of one of the pieces and noticed that the chicken was still RAW. THEY GAVE ME RAW POPCORN CHICKEN!!! Like WTF is this shit. This spot is what used to be "Milky Way". I give Panda 3.5 stars. Their milk tea has a good balance of milk creaminess and tea flavor. I like this establishment better than other milk tea places on this block due to cleanliness and overall service. No need to wait in long lines if you go here. read more

You would think that the boba and drinks here are phenomenal considering that the location has a large Asian population. Unfortunately, I was wrong. My cousin recommended that we stopped by since she lives close by and my daughter was craving popping boba. The service was absolutely horrific! The older daughter that worked there, who must be in her mid forties, did not want to be bothered. She did not greet us and gave us a "what do you want" type of attitude. Mom must have noticed from the back because she yelled at her to have more energy. We ordered a large strawberry slushie and a large lychee slushie with strawberry popping boba. Both drinks were diabetic inducing at the first sip. It was extremely sweet to the point that we couldn't drink it and we had to toss both. Even my eight year old daughter who has a sweet tooth couldn't down it. My daughter also mentioned that it tasted 'fake' and not like the real fruit flavors she used to. We've been to hundreds of boba place throughout the US and internationally, and we would rank this the worst, both for drinks and service. read more

Pretty good little milk tea spot. The service is friendly and the drinks are much better than Quickly's. So far we've tried the coconut milk tea and the red guava milk tea. Both were good, but we liked the coconut better (and have been back for seconds). The drinks have a good tea flavor and are not watered down like other places. Also, the drinks are flavorful, but not overwhelmingly syrupy which is a plus. However, the shop itself is bit run down and could use some TLC, hence the -1 star. read more
