This is not the worst Panda Express place I've ever seen. Actually, it is pretty good. Their location is on the second floor. Use an escalator to get there. The food is nice as usual. I ordered fried rice, orange chicken, shrimps and small soda for 14$ approximately. The free bonus is a fortune cookie. Now, these guys owe me a new job (check my photos)! You just have to understand this is one of many places inside the food court of the plaza. Because of the location, I can say this Panda Express is a kinda easy place for working, I mean for employes. There is no necessary to clean the tables or restrooms. All of these activities are the duties of the Stonestown Plaza staff. That's why the Panda crew is nice probably:) And you can't claim them for the dirty area inside. The noise level is very high. There are a lot of people inside the food court of the plaza. Even with no playing music, it is difficult to talk with friends sitting in front of you. You can use public restrooms and free wifi of plaza. I would say the Panda Express here is the place where you can always expect a high-quality level of food. It must have been at least five years since I last ate at a Panda Express. My girlfriend and I were getting some work done at SFSU and needed lunch first and figured we'd check out the mall offerings. I couldn't decide on what to get and went with an old favorite. I got their fried rice/chow mein combo with orange chicken and eggplant tofu. It tastes exactly how I remembered it except that the fried rice is made with brown rice, which I actually prefer. You could really taste the MSG, which in large quantities gives me a headache. However, it was decent if you don't expect a plate of authentic Chinese food. Service was quick and prices are much higher than I remember, but $8+ seems pretty normal for fast food nowadays. It's inside the mall so there's plenty of seating. We tried to escape the SF heat by walking around the Stonestown Mall and stopped by this place for a late lunch. We both ordered the same entrees, except one had half fried rice/ half chow mein. Anyway, one plate has noticeably less food than the other. I mean, yes, they were filled by two different people and I guess either one person was less generous or the other was overly generous?! I don't know but I really hate it when this happens though. Can we get on with the quality control? Honestly, this Panda Express location is really not a good representation of an average PE. Not my first choice for Chinese food, but when I come to Stonestown mall, I tend to always eat here. Why? Because it's convenient. The food is not bad and there's usually a lot of people waiting, but the line surprisingly moves very quickly... before I know it, it's my turn to order. I usually get the 2-entree combo that comes with either fried rice, chow mein or white rice for under $6. Today, I ordered both fried rice and chow mein with orange chicken. The noodles are thin and have tons of greens, I like the rice because they don't put too much peas and the orange chicken is always good -- crispy and sweet :-)! There are a lot of places to eat at in the food court, but Panda Express stands out because it's always crowded. read more

I called them on Friday at 10.08 am , she answer the phone very nicely after I asked her I would like to order catering she said you can order online and hang up on me without giving any chance to answer her. They put 4 tiny pieces of meat and I said to please add more meat and they told me that KIDS ONLY "NEED" four pieces and that all I was going to get. I have always loved Panda Express's customer experience and their food. This location is particular convenient for which is a plus point, but I have received very bad and unappreciated customer service from one employee at this location. I have recently filled out the online survey in the back of the receipt and Panda express shows their appreciation towards their customers's time and effort by giving one free side dish with every meal purchased. The employee who goes by Betty (could be the manager since she wears black attire) have showed remarkable attitude towards me when I'd like to use the survey that I filled out. She describes my survey as fake, but still let me use their survey as I'm financially struggling to pay for my meal. This particular individual also asked me to pull up my phone how did I do it in order to verify I really did the survey. I wonder if this is the protocol how Panda Express would like to proceed every time a customer would like to use the survey in back the of the receipt. i always know that their food is not healthy. I never tried theirs before, but today, i have no choice since i need some meat for my lunch. So I purchased a single side (very small box) which says on the menu $2.75. That is the Shanghai angus beef. Not mentioning about their beef, which is too sweet, the server charge me 4.75 (5.17 included tax), price for a single entry (i do not want to have their noodles, too fat). I did ask them and they said the side price is not for this beef. I need my meal, and okay, i paid $20. But after i checked my charge, i figured that she only gave me $14 bucks which made me very upset. This restaurant wants to rip off the customers that did not want to have their entry. I like their noodles (which I drown in their packets of hot sauce), and their orange chicken, mushroom chicken, spicy eggplant and tofu, and everything else they offer. Except their egg rolls and dumplings...blargh, too dry and just not appetizing. I personally keep away from their teriyaki chicken and bbq pork, as they're just not right...dry and sauce is underwhelming (or overly sweet). Prices = they've gone up in recent years... it's a bit insane to pay that much for greasy, express, chinese-american food. But sometimes, a woman's gotta eat. :-P There is almost always a line for this place, btw. read more

Blech! Panda Express, I've tried with you, I really have. I hadn't been to a Panda Express in about 4 or 5 years and I found your consistently fast moving lines promising. I mean all those people can't be wrong right? Well, I don't know who all those people and how they can eat what you call food. I attempted to eat a plate full of noodles, orange chicken and pepper chicken. The pepper chicken was the only dish with even a hint of flavor and identifiable meat. The orange chicken was just goopy covered breading (there was supposed to be chicken in there right?). The noodles were sad. My standards for "Chinese" food at a mall's food court are low, but the Stonestown location of Panda Express is the worst I've encountered thus far. All other Panda Express locations that I've been through fill up the to-go boxes and I always leave satisfied because I know I got my monies worth; however, the other day when I ordered the new honey walnut shrimp and orange chickn with a 50/50 side of chow mein and fried rice was simply unsatisfactory. The lady told me I'd be charged a dollar more for choosing the shrimp and I agreed, but when I looked at how much she put in the box, there was very little of the entree. I normally am OK with PE, but something about this location irks me. As the saying goes, "bad food and not enough of it." Your adventure starts with the elderly lady carefully scooping the minimum amount of any dish to make it look like you received something. She seems to act as though she's the owner and each piece of food she serves you is starving her son. Then when you look closer at the food, you realize it was likely cooked up around noon and now it's supper time. Vegetables at all locations are far too over salted, and this one honors that protocol in spades. Compared to the other awful restaurants in this mall it's one of the least worst so I keep giving them a chance to do right.
