Great service by a white male employee yesterday. He was courteous and friendly. The food was fresh despite coming at a later time too.

I was about to grab a small orange chicken just for a quick bite before class but when I got to the register a ROACH crawled on the soda machine (which is less than a foot and a half from the food)! I really wish I was joking but . I've never been so disgusted. I was already not really feeling their food but this made me completely turned off of not just Panda but even the other restaurants in the food court. I got a very good look at what the bug was, since it crawled on the machine and sat there for a FULL MINUTE before one of the managers came out of the kitchen and killed it with some dirty rag they had lying around. Even the family in line behind me saw and confirmed it was a roach. I seriously wish I had a picture but I was too grossed out to remember to take one. Seriously, what is the point of coming here. I hope people know that this is not authentic Chinese food because it's not. Just because the servers are Chinese does not make this place authentic. Now, the food is awful. The chicken tends to taste like rubber and the beef is like plastic. I try to give this place a chance every few months and they.continue to fail. They just don't work for me. I don't know why, but my quick tip registered as "How mein". -_- I like the chow mein instead of fried rice. They also have plain white rice if you ask for it! It's just not sitting there. Woke up with the WORST case of FOOD POISONING so bad I had to go to the ER. I was out of commission for a few days and due to this trauma and sickness, I avoided Chinese food for 5 years!! This place have no customer services and the way they charge you is very stupid. I ordered the "bigger plate", which should costs $9.20. When i first ate there the quantity and quality of food was great a few years back. Yesterday I bought a take out order and was surprise at how small the combination container has gotten smaller. The combo container where they put the broccoli and orange chicken in, is so small now. The prices has gone up but the food container size has shrunk. I don't know if this is the only location that has shrunk the food container size. Before you would get like 5-8 pieces of broccoli and beef and the orange chicken you would get 6-8 pieces of big chunks chicken. Now you only get 4 pieces of smaller cut of broccoli and 2 chunk of chicken and 4 smaller pieces of fried batter pieces. The beef for the brocolli was hard and also the orange chicken was even harder. The quality of the food has gone down. I would now go next door to the japanese restaurant to buy the food now. You can get a teriyaki special for the same price as panda. You get rice, salad, soup and chicken. No more panda express for me. read more

The Panda Ex here isn't great, but I don't recall going to any of them around town or outta town that serves up consistently good food. Previously, I shared the orange chicken which was really good. On another day, it was soggy and tasted like leftovers. This wk, it was much better. The 2 entree plate is now $6 and the 3 entree is $7.25. If you pay attention to the back of your receipt, they have a survey you can do online. At the end, they give you a code so that when you return again to PE and hand the receipt at the register, they'll deduct $1.25 from the 3 entree course. In essence, you pay $6 for 3 entree plate. That's a good deal, so keep your receipts and check the back. read more

I don't expect greatness from a Chinese fast food restaurant, but do expect typical Panda Express food that is better than average Chinese fast food (try eating in a mall on the East Coast or in Florida and you get the idea as to truly bad food) and reasonable portions. I eat at Panda Express in the East Bay regularly, and the portions here are far smaller than other Panda Express. Kung Pao chicken had a nice hint of spice, still slightly juicy, and the tofu egglant was good. Chow mein was dry and overcooked, and only slighly warm. However, size matters and got the distinct feeling I was not gettiing what I paid for.due to the size of the portions. As others have noted, the servers' attitude is as though giving extra food is taking food away from their family, or eating into their salary. I came back here today for lunch after not coming here for a long time. I wanted to see if things had changed for the better. The service is better than before. I ordered Rice bowl with Honey Walnut Shrimp. They gave a lot of rice but then paying extra $1.25 for the shrimp was disappointing. I know that seafood is expensive, but I was hoping that they would give a bit more in terms of entree. It wasn't even a full entry. It was about 90% rice with 10% Honey Walnut shrimp for a bit over $9 total. The portion size needs to be a bit bigger for Honey Walnut Shrimp if I am going to pay extra. Although I could have picked another alternative for a bit cheaper price and don't have to pay extra. For the quality of food, I got today wasn't as great and the shrimp looked it stayed there for a while, but I wanted shrimp. So, I didn't mind as much today. read more
