I tried Golden Dragon and was disappointed. Panda House is, in my opinion, decidedly better. Not much on ambience, but prices are fair and their food is good. The white meat chicken used in a lot of dishes really IS white meat chicken and not a processed mess. The sesame chicken and lemon chicken (and fried chicken) were all very good. I tried the buffet this first time, but will go back and order a combo meal: a generous entree served with 2 crabrangoons, 1 eggroll, fried or steamed rice, and a drink for $5.59. Food serving trays were kept filled with hot food...which was not the case when I tried the Golden Dragon. There are lots of sauces from which to choose, and fresh shrimp to peel and eat. Great little Chinese buffet.. Extremely clean wonderful service. The food was way above average hot kept the buffet stock at all times nice variety. Always a good sign when you see there are a lot of local you can tell they've all been there many times,they all know each other..in a tourist environment it's very refreshing... We found ourselves in Branson, hungry, on the way home from an all day journey. Felt like Chinese so got out Yelp for some help. First two places had 2 stars. Not worthy stopping. Very good. My friend and I had the dinner buffet. With tax the buffet (only water to drink) was $10.49. Nice salad bar. Peel n eat shrimp. Decent buffet of main dishes. There are not a lot of Chinese options in Branson but after trying the others and the Panda House tonight I have a new favorite. The food was really good and lots of options offered. The staff was attentive and judging by the crowd it is well known. I recommend this for anyone who enjoys a good basic Chinese buffet. They also do carry out and I think a drive through. read more

The food was good, although I normally don't care for buffets, since they are usually filthy and attract all kinds of slobs, moochers, and other assorted riff-raff. I was a little put off by the none-Chinese employees, though. I think I did see one guy come out of the kitchen with a load of food. When I go to a Chinese restaurant, I want to see Chinese waiters/waitresses, with Chinese music and decorations and such. This place has Americanized Chinese food and Mexicans working there. No, I am not against Mexicans. But I don't expect to see Chinese people working in a Mexican restaurant. read more

These people refuse to alter ur order. Example...i wanted my meal spicy...wouldn't do it. Charged me extra for hot sauce on the side. Wanted extra veggies. Had to order a separate meal and ask to hold the chicken. Overall food selection is poor. Inside is dirty. Bathrooms smell about like a gas station you find in the middle of nowhere. Horrible!! Server was very rude, we placed our drink order didn't get our drinks till our second plate, had to ask for them twice. There was only two other tables with customers. The food was cold and tasteless except for sugar lots of sugar! Only one beef dish on the buffet the rest was sugar chicken. There were plenty of empty pans on the buffet that had dried sauce and asked if they were going to fill the emptied spaces and we where given a eyeroll and told no. This is by far the worst chinese buffet I have been to in my life, the food was awful and not much to select from. Staff tried to charge us an extra buffet, but did remove it from the ticket. The cashier (I assume the owner, older caucasian male) has to be the rudest person I have encountered in a restaurant. When paying, he kept putting the card in backwards (the end without the chip) and of course it would decline. When I politely asked him to turn it around and insert the chip, I was yelled at disrespectfully told "THIS IS NOT HOW OPERATIONS WORK HERE!". So I bit my tongue as he tried three more failed attempts. Once again, I asked him to insert the chip and he finally obliged after yelling again "OK, BUT THIS WON'T WORK!". Of course it worked this time, and all he said was ok.... No apology for screaming or speaking to me disrespectfully. Unless you are in the mood for terrible chinese food, terrible service, and the biggest a-hole owner I have ever met, do not go here. Panda House is about the most 5 star Chinese buffet you will find in Branson. The food is better than the other buffets on Highway 76. They have real Springfield cashew chicken and multiple choices on the buffet. Service is generally good and the place is one of the cleaner Chinese buffets you'll see. Price is decent too. I love Chinese food but this was not typical Chinese food. It was American food drenched in semi Chinese tasting sauces. The chicken was breaded chicken finger pieces and the Lo mein noodles were fettuccine noodles over cooked. The egg rolls taste like they do when I buy them in a box from the grocery store freezer section. To be fair I have never tried any other Chinese restaurants in Branson but I would not eat at this place again. We always order extra so we can eat it again but this time we threw it away. The only reason I'm giving this 1 star is because I can't give it any rating lower than this. All of the fried food was mushy and drenched in sauce. The only 2 slightly redeeming dishes were the sausages and fried cheese which aren't even Chinese. The food wasn't just terrible, but it also caused me and my friend to both get severe food poisoning. If you know what any resemblance of Chinese, or even GOOD food is then DO NOT GO HERE. read more

I have eaten here several times, the food is okay, but the service has a lot to be desired. The prices are on par for a tourist town,but a little pricey for a buffet. You have to ask for your drinks to be refilled, because the fountains are behind the cash counter and protected by the group of servers that are loitering there. I've only ordered drive thru from this unassuming Chinese spot in Branson, but it pleasantly surprised me with its delicious taste so I am going on with a 5 star review I'd normally reserve for places I've visited a bit more in depth. We took this several miles to our hotel and it was still piping hot and tasted truly fresh. I do believe they dished our food out in the kitchen at least, instead of getting it from their standing buffet...that is a make or break move in my book and it seems that Panda House did it "right" by me. The lemon chicken combo meal was an extraordinary value - I planned to toss the eggroll and didn't really "need" the soft drink, but wound up actually enjoying both as well as the crab rangoon and rice - which were plenty for me to share. The crowning jewel though was the entree, lemon chicken that took me back to the 1990s and my favorite lemon chicken from Joplin's House of Yen. That alone was fantastic - big white chunks of chicken dredged in a thick, sweet, and VERY lemony sauce. Everything was better than we expected. My husband opted for the vegetable lo mein and even he approved...this is the guy who shuns Chinese buffet and insisted on takeout since he originally did not want to eat Panda House at all. I have gone to panda house for years! I always go through the drive thru and there is always a young sweet girl working there that always gets my order right! However, the last few times I have gone, the "boss" that has been working the drive thru obviously doesn't know how to do her job because she will ask me what I want, i tell her chicken fried rice and she always some how manages to give me the wrong item everytime! When I call to complain they are so ignorant that they can't even fix a simple problem, but to tell me to drive back to get the right food item!!! NEVER GOING BACK! I DO NOT RECOMMEND!! read more

We went to panda last night surprised to see it full only a few empty tables , satdown then noticed the look on peoples faces when they were eating, lets just say it was one of the worst meals we have ever eaten.and we are not that picky .
