Crushed, smashed and very small bagels
    Jason C.

First time visiting their new location since they moved and the experience wasn't worth it. Yeah, I won't be back at this location. Shrinkflation must have hit Panera, I ordered 30 bagels, sliced and toasted, half of my bagels were mini bagels, all placed at the bottom of the bag, regular size on the top. Additionally, they packed all the bagels in one bag, they should have divided them into 3+ separate bags. Due to their packaging, the bottom bagels were all smashed/crushed. Also didn't appreciate them over toasting the bagels. They need to have some common sense when it comes to packaging!

I'm still not over Panera changing their bagel recipe several years ago and getting rid of the strawberry cream cheese but I'll let it slide because the soups are still so solid. As we move into the colder months, my cravings for them grow (particularly the chicken wild rice and the broccoli cheddar) and I appreciate that you can order online and pick up curbside. It's a safe, low contact option during pandemic times. Last time I ordered from here, a couple of weeks ago, my pick up was right on schedule and the order was right on target. Panera in general can be be hit or miss on accuracy but this location gets it right most of the time. I just wish my beloved bagels were back to how they used to be! Pro tip: put the chocolate chipper cookie in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds. You won't regret it!

While I am not generally an enthusiastic fan of national chains, the proximity of this Panera to our home made it a no-brainer for a quick dinner tonight. Panera's soups are the one menu item that I have enjoyed in the past so I was excited to see Vegetarian Autumn Squash Soup on their online menu. It was rich and flavorful and was the high point of our order. My wife also enjoyed the Green Goddess Cobb Salad w/ chicken while I chowed down their rather bland Chipotle Chicken & Bacon Flatbread. One disappointing aspect of this carryout order was their excessive delay in bringing it to my car despite leaving a very generous "COVID-style" tip when ordering online. After parking in Panera's designated carryout parking slot, I had to call them twice before my order was finally carried out at least 10 minutes later. Come on Panera...you can do better than that! Once home, thanks to 45 seconds in the microwave, I consumed a bowl of delicious and highly recommended Veggie Autumn Squash Soup.

Oh Panera, you didn't disappoint me. I tried a new item yesterday the spinach bacon souffle. It was flaky, delicious and a wonderful flavor combination. It was filling without feeling heavy and was great for breakfast or brunch. I also had the iced coffee. I really liked the packaging it came in as I ate it 1 hour after ordering and it was still warm.I used the touch screen ordering as I was undecided what I wanted to eat and could easily browse thru pictures of items. My order arrived quickly and I was on my way again. It was a wonderful perk to a rough morning.

My spot to enjoy a coffee or two while I work. Love the set up of this Panera and all the different seating options available. I'll pick this place over a Starbucks any day.

Egg yoke all over me and my care. This is typical. This is exactly how they served this.

The grilled cheese with sausage (pistachio inside) was creamy and innovative. Masala chai with a black jam and pistachio was my morning's order. The space is bright, fresh. clean. Multiple families munched away and played the little wooden games available for guests. Plenty of seating upstairs too. The manager checked in with us for a quick, pleasant exchange.

This is a review for the White Lotus cafe on Zeeb road (not the farms on Liberty)…read more This place is now my go-to for West Side hang-out. Anytime I have a family member visit me we go here. (I'm thinking of holding my office hours here in the fall, IN PERSON, over real coffee! this coffee is yummmmmmmy) From the moment I walk in the door I am greeted with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Who all know me by my first name! (and I have a difficult Spanish name). They greet me with a smile, never rush me, and take my order all the while answering any questions I might have. Since their menu is always evolving and changing, it's great that they take the time to walk through my options. So they have their standard amazing pizzas (which i first had at the farm) and their shockingly authentic pastries (even better croissants than I have had in Paris). But last week I tried their new breakfast food, and MAN! It was GOOD! the quiche, the omelet....and although I am convinced their chai is the best in Ann Arbor (it's not a premade mix of sugar and chemicals, it's the real deal) ...they now have this new line of matcha, so so good. Sarah and Kat make baristas run for cover, they are that good. And even with all that goodness, I was SHOCKED out of my mind when I had their eggplant sandwich. That thing is fire. FIRE. My family and I are big meat eaters, so when this one hit the scene, we couldn't believe how tasty it was. Even writing this review right now makes me want to go there and eat one. (I'll still keep trying their amazing ever-new menu, but this eggplant sandwich has become a standard) Also, there is this very cute small little market attached where I stop by at the end of the day to pick up freshly made bread for dinner. We love the sesame bread, but geez louise, the baguettes are addictive. Their head baker is INSANELY talented. Remember that scene in Ratatouille when the food critic gets transported to a core memory? That happens to me when I eat that bread. I have purchased goat milk soap there (its handmade by the baker's wife), hot chocolate mix, a kabocha squash, this no sugar added mango puree (which I made a no-sugar added mango torte with). They have these really cool unique products, and it really is a treat to stop by. The place is beautiful, and it is a gem to have such a high quality place to eat on this side of town. The passion that these people have comes through in their food, the products they sell, and the way they treat their community. I love Ann Arbor, and I love this cafe. (okay now i really am going to go and get that eggplant sandwich)

I have a long list of dietary needs for the family, and Sam Hill handles them all. The deep fried vegan Brussels sprouts are prepared so lightly that we had to order more. I'm sure others like it though I'm not sure why or how. Monday night. Two adults and one kid. Service was very sweet. Husband ordered an Old Fashioned with Markers Mark instead of their well. What he got was a super sweet cocktail. Almost too sweet to drink. He said it was fine. He didn't want to fuss. Let's just move on to the food. We both were feeling like a patty melt. I asked to add mushrooms and leave off the special sauce (thousand island type stuff). What we got was a plate with soggy sourdough stuffed with salty saucy pot roast covered in cheese and onions. That is not a patty melt. I looked up the description on the menu online and it doesn't say pot roast but braised beef. I get it after seeing what was on the plate and wouldn't have ordered it if there was a picture or if it said it was saucy POT ROAST. The side salad I ordered for a $4 up charge was great. Beautiful and fresh. Even their ranch is really good. I tried to eat the sandwich but it was too salty and disappointing. I wanted a patty melt. Pot roast isn't a frickin patty. My husband powered through his. He was too hungry. The waitress offered to talk to the manager and came back to offer one of their smash burgers. I asked if it can be a patty melt on grilled bread instead of a bun. She was clueless. I ordered a burger and said just put it on the bread. It came out after my husband and little was well finished with their food. Her talking to the manager took way too long. The burger wasn't a smash burger either, it was two tiny over cooked patties. Smash burgers are thin and with crispy edges. This was not. The caramelized onion fondue cheese sauce was the highlight but at this point I was just eating to fill my belly and get out of there. Husband and little ordered the strawberry shortcake dessert just so they weren't sitting there waiting for me to finish. Idk what that rock hard shortcake was made out of but it took muscle to get thru it. It wasn't dry just very dense and tasteless. There was too much biscuit to macerated strawberries. It needed to be dunked in the syrup to get some flavor. It's was stout enough to handle it. When the bill was brought out, I had to ask for an iced tea refill. No refills were offered or given the whole visit. Total was ~$73 before tip. This is it for us. They have a nice private dining room that I would have loved to consider for our company holiday party but only if the food was better. They are consistently poor in either the execution or description of their menu items.
