Personally, I'm no Panera lover. I'm a vegetarian who often foregos cheesy options so the menu leaves a lot to be desired for me. However, I use Panera for catering at my office and everyone loves it - people have asked if we can order from Panera every day. The lunches all come as box lunches, well marked with names (this can be pretty hard to come by) and always neatly packaged and on time. The catering team let me know what days were their lightest and worked with me on figuring out when would be the best time to order as well as an easy process that accommodates our office. There is always the occasional hiccup - but they work hard to ensure our orders are correct. read more

I called in a to-go order and when I arrived at the location they said they had never received an order over the phone. The manager Austin Westfall immediately put the order in and also covered the payment, getting the food out to us in under 5 minutes. He was so professional, kind, and efficient. In front of their cash register is a tip jar looking jar, but it isn't to tip the kids I learned after much tipping, it goes into the company somehow. I was VERY unhappy to be deceived this way. I've tipped kids over and again, and they never got a cent. I think this is terrible, misleading. read more

Ugh Panera. The food is good, I really like their salads (the only thing I can eat from their unfortunately being gluten free) but we also get their catering here at work and OMG, WAAAAAAAAAY too much packaging. Seriously, I spent 20 minutes breaking down cardboard and folding bags and trying to get through the piles and piles of extra packaging they gave us. I swear there were cardboard boxes given to us just for display or something as they had nothing in them. I truly do not need a salad in a plastic container, within a cardboard container with a bunch of little other plastic containers. It's wasteful and annoying and I hope someone from there will chill on the excessiveness of their catering packaging. I want food, not a ton of crap that has PANERA all over it just so I can battle with it to recycle it since I refuse to throw that much stuff in the garbage. read more

Very inconsistent. Customer service isn't very cohesive. The bread seems too mass-produced, tastes maybe two notches better than what you get from the bakery at Randall's. If you like that kind of bread, you'll love it here. For me, that's just a waste of bad carbs. My main complaint is the espresso. The first time I went there, ordered a double espresso, and got decent customer service. The quality of the espresso was nothing special, about what you'd get at Starbucks. The next time I got about a third of the amount of espresso, and the person helping me seemed to be the manager, and was acting surly. I've heard some people praise Panera, but I can't see any reason to go there--I generally shun chains anyway. There's nothing there worth having, and to add insult to injury, I was treated almost like I wasn't welcome (same with my friend I was with that day). read more

I must say I was pretty disappointed today. I love Panera. I eat here quite a bit. I have my favorites as do most people. One of my favorites is the Greek salad with chicken. I ordered it as part of a you pick two to go. When I got to my office I realized that I had not gotten the Greek salad but the classic salad. Such a disappointment. Not my favorite, not even top ten. Without opening the box and digging around, it is difficult to tell the difference and by the time I realized it, it was too late. The last time I tried to order this salad, they gave me the new Greek salad with quinoa. Not bad but not what I was expecting. I'm hoping these were flukes and next time I get a to go order it is correct. read more

Stopped in this AM for a quick breakfast sandwich. It was not quick and not much of a sandwich either. Ordered two sandwiches and gave them my name per their request. After a 15 minute wait I enquirer about the food at which point they advised they accidentally gave it to another customer ( note that there were only 5 customers in the restaurant- including me) - I mentioned too that I gave my name. They also advised the last of the brioche bread was used. We advised please use toasted whole wheat and we'll wait for another. The other Sanwiches were delivered quickly with plain whole wheat bread ( not toasted) with cold unmelted slices of cheese. Nonetheses I wolfed mine down (I'd give it a 2 out of 10) . . . my wife tossed hers out. Coffee was not labeled correctly either- ugh! Pretty decent food, the macaroni is good, but I really dislike the customer service here. A couple of the employees are very sweet and good with customers, but many of them look miserable and make you feel like a burden to be served. I've talked to the manager Joe before and he was very rude to me, I don't understand why Panera allowed him to run this location, especially with all of the negative reviews that mention him. I have also seen Instagram stories from the employees of them eating the macaroni that is supposed to be served to customers out of the bag, and I'm not sure if they threw it away after messing around with it, but it disgusts me that they were licking the food in an area that is supposed to be clean and meant for preparing food. My favorite thing about Panera is the menu, but this Panera is a disappointment. They're probably past due for a renovation. The place always seems damp and sticky. The staff is a mixed bag of smiling people and people who don't seem to really want to be there. After my last visit, I'm done. Tables always dirty but food is pretty good. More crowded than the average Panera Bread so finding a seat is pretty difficult. Tomato soup and bread bowl is pretty good though, so if you can stand the crowd, try this. Parking can be a bit difficult as well. read more

This chain is like "chilis for breakfast". Its a prep shop. Try and ask for a simple egg "over easy". You wont like what hits your table. Some staff didnt even know what it was supposed to be. One of the cleaning staff raised her hand and cooked it. She should have been the manager. read more

I have been to Panera more times than I can count and by far this was the worst one that I have been to. I ordered the smoked turkey panini with mac and cheese. I also asked that bread be sliced in half and toasted because I like to scoop up my mac and cheese with it. The turkey on my sandwich was cold like it had been pulled out of the fridge. My bread was also neither slice or toasted. I told them that my sandwich was cold and my bread was not prepared like I had asked. They did fix the bread, but my sandwich came back the exact opposite as before. It was extremely crunchy and tasted burnt. I will not be eating at this Panera again, which is sad since its close to where I work. read more

Only problem is the last two times they have been out of the tomato basil bread which is delicious. Overall really healthy food and good vibes. I just had to leave work early because I got sick, so I decided to go to Panera to get food that would be easy on an upset stomach. I ordered a pick two, plus a cup of soup so I could save half of my meal for later. I placed a to-go order and waited a decent amount of time. Once I got home, one of my items and sides were not there. I called the store and was presented with a bunch of extensions. I could barely make out what was being said. I tried the cafe/manager extension about four times before giving up. I finally called another time, but chose the catering extension and finally talked to an employee. They then had to transfer me to a manager, by then I was furious. I finally got a refund for my item but it was such a bad experience so I don't think I'll be going back. read more

I've been to the Panera Bread near Lake Creek Shopping Center, and it is always clean and good vibe, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food, especially the pastries, are delicious. I'm a sucker for souffle - and everything else Panera. Dang you for being on my way to work. You suck me into your parking lot with temptations of fresh baked souffles - Spinach and Artichoke, Turkey Sausage, Four Cheese - have mercy on my soul. I love them all equally. Same for the bagels. Cinnamon Crunch, French Toast, Everything - I've tried them all, with a side of low fat cream cheese -(who am I kidding? Me. It's a mind game. Don't judge.) I'm not a coffee drinker, but that doesn't matter. You serve delicious hot chocolate - not too sweet, not too hot. How about lunch? Why the heck not? Frontega Chicken and Turkey Artichoke are all I've ever had. I love them too much to want to try anything else. The chipotle mayo on the frontega chicken is delish - granted, the sandwiches can be a bit large, but no problem, I save the rest for later. Finally, the Mango Smoothie. I had my first Mango Smoothie in Japan, at Starbucks, while visiting my sister. I came home to my local Starbucks, in search of continuing this new love affair, but nope, not as "exotic" as overseas. Happy dance, Happy dance when I saw it on YOUR menu. You didn't disappoint, just as I knew you wouldn't. Good size, good flavor. Just enough to keep me satisfied. I love you, Panera. I love you even more when I am using Gift Cards given to me by others who know our little secret love affair. Congrats Panera. I thought long and hard about your 5 star rating. I literally downloaded this app so I could make a review about how terrible this store is. There was only one person ahead of me in line and I waited for 15 minutes while the cashier did God knows what. When I ordered I was told "we're out of baguettes" so I opted for just another roll. I ordered my food to-go and they gave me the bottom half of a sandwich bread...seriously...Panera BREAD and you're out of the main bread you sell there, pathetic. And the replacement they gave me was THE BOTTOM HALF OF SANDWICH BREAD. My large macaroni and cheese came in a small container and when I asked if it was a large the guy was rude, so apparently adding 5 extra noodles makes a small into a large. Family-friendly. Staff seems great, but the jury's still out. While a friend and I were enjoying lunch, we noticed how the staff offers to clean up after some of the customers. When we finished, we weren't offered that. And there was staff nearby. We can clean up after ourselves, thank you very much, but it would have been nice to have been offered. Nothing is fresh anymore (except maybe the bread..maybe). The soups all taste like they've been frozen. They've changed the menu for the worse. It's just not good anymore. Chicken salad sandwich had almost no chicken salad on it...it was basically a bread sandwich. Ham and Swiss came with no Swiss, just ham and a gross plop of mayonnaise on the bread that wasn't even spread on the bread. Tomato soup tastes like pizza sauce. read more

Let me first say that I really like their food. What I don't appreciate is that the last two times I have placed a take out order they have messed it up both times. It's annoying when you're excited to eat your meal only to find a couple of ingredients missing. The person is either new or doesn't know the menu. It also says they do delivery, but when we asked them to deliver to our office, which by the way is on bee cave rd, they said they didn't deliver that far away ! It's 2 miles away Update: 7/19/16 So our business ordered lunch today and had a rep go pick it up for us. We forgot to order a single drink and so we called back and added it to our order. Well once again the drink was left out. I spoke with a guy named Mike who assured me that it would be taken care of. Super frustrating that we can't seem to get our complete order. I'm not really sure why this is so hard to accomplish. I know people will probably say, "hey get your lunch from somewhere else". The food is the only thing that gets the stars - the service was terrible! I ordered online and when I arrived, I approached the 'pickup' area. The staff continued to joke amongst themselves and didn't acknowledge me. I could see a 'to-go' order on the counter and asked if it was mine. Verifying the first name should have been enough being that it was late in the afternoon and they were not busy. Instead he knowingly butchers my last night and smirks when he tells me to 'have a nice day'. read more

Date of First Visit: June 2, 2008 I noticed a Panera Bread while driving on Bee Cave Roads and made a mental note of it to return for lunch. Panera is a national chain, but I think to a certain degree, they manage to maintain a "locally-owned" flavor. Okay, maybe that's just my opinion. Although there weren't any Panera Breads right in downtown Boston where I used to live, there were several in and around the suburbs of Boston. A friend and I used to go to one in Quincy, which was a town immediately bordering Boston on the south. My favorite Panera offering is the tomato/mozzarella salad, which also includes basil, red onions, and a tangy vinaigrette. At first it was offered year-round, but then it was made into a summer-only offering, which I guess makes sense since that's when tomatoes taste their best. I usually get the "Pick Two" deal, where you get half a salad and half a sandwich. It's interesting to see how prices in general have just crept up. Back in Boston, I'd say 2-3 years ago, this combo only cost $4.90. Here in Austin, it costs around $7, and that's only certain sandwiches, salads, and soups. The price goes up a bit if you choose from their more "specialty" items. Anyway, the Westlake Panera Bread is nice enough. And they do offer free wi-fi, which I believe Panera Bread was one of the first of the really large national chains to do. read more

I love the Panera Bread Ads, so we went to the closest location. If they spent 1/10th of their advertising budget on training, we'd go back. The service was lousy, the place was not clean and well-maintained, the prices were high for the serving portions, nothing arrived in logical order, and every item had to be supplemented to be tasty. (a $9.00 bowl of "Classic French Onion soup should have melted gruyere and croutons at serving - not a 3-4 gram pinch of each added upon request). A grilled cheese sandwich on wheat should be on TOASTED bread, fullu melted, covering the toast - not sprinkle ov cheese on warmish bread, warmed slightly, and slapped together about 1 inch off of matching edges. first, i arrive to pick up my rapid pick up order. i check the bag because i have had past experiences where panera did not include items in my bag. sure enough, my bagel was missing. when i go to get my bagel, they tell me the reason it is missing is they were out of the flavor i ordered. but rather than tell me, they simply just put my bag out ready to go as if everything is OK. then i get to the office and when i open my order, my avocado has black marks everywhere (i took a photos, but couldn't find where to post it) - who serves this? i have been loyal to panera for years and dealt with past problems, but this is it - not going back. read more

I've always been impressed with how fantastic Panera sandwiches taste, but today I was blown away. I had the new roasted turkey with bacon and avocado. The roasted turkey is real roasted turkey like you get at Thanksgiving, not the pressed kind. The bread is soft and yummy. I would order it without the bacon since it's cold and limp, offering nothing to this incredible sandwich. The reason it didn't get 5 stars is because of the price. Way overpriced for a sandwich. I usually don't complain unless something is just not acceptable to me. I came here to enjoy lunch with my boyfriend and encountered the most rudest cashier, Christopher. He didn't even greet us when he came to the counter just starred at us waiting for us to start talking so he could take our order. It was obvious we were ready to order and you would think he would greet us or at the very least smile. But no. Also as he was taking out order he was very rude in the way his tone was with us. For instance, he didn't even talk to us in complete sentences. "Drinks." "swipe." When handing us out cups and asking me to swipe my card. His face was also so monotone, he showed no emotion at all. Not an ideal customer service type of employee. I also closely examined him as I was eating my meal and caught him eating bread or chips from the baskets while leaning on the counter and texting.
