Ordered delivery at 3:30pm through the Panera app with the knowledge that it would get to me by 4-4:10pm based on what the app said. At 4:20 I looked at the app to check on my order as it hadn't come in, and the app said it would be another 30 minutes. Mind you this Panera is literally across the street from me, I just couldn't go in due to an injury. Decided to call the store and waited 7 minutes on the phone only to be hung up on. Called back and finally got a hold of someone and explained my situation and that I wanted to cancel if it was going to take that long to get my food. They proceeded to tell me that they couldn't cancel my order, that I placed my order on DoorDash and told me to call THEM and cancel. I had to explain to them AGAIN that I had placed it through their app, so I asked them again to cancel. And they finally agreed to cancel it. This is just a review on the terrible delivery process and how the manager handled it. The customer rep on the line seemed like she genuinely wanted to help, but the manager was the one that wanted to push me off to Doordash and didn't even try to compensate or apologize for the late delivery. 0/10 for delivery. read more

Never delivered my order. Ordered again. Have received no confrimation and the web tracking isn't working. Now I'm pretty sure Panera hasn't even prepared my order and I'm not sure they received it at all, but they were certainly able to charge me twice. Not to mention only giving me a Panera credit for the first meal, which somehow meant I had to pay delivery twice to order one meal. Was excited to try Panera out. Ordering was trying but we chalked it up to a new location with new employees. But geez, $40 for a teeny steak and cheese sandwich, half filled "large" bowl of Mac n cheese, a tuna sandwich with more mayo than tuna and a salad. $40 and no drinks. We got our food to go and when I opened the tuna sandwich at home, it was already smooshed oozing from the middle and had to be eaten with a knife and fork. Caesar salad was fine but nothing to write home about. Things tasted pretty good but definitely not worth the $$. read more

The difference today was that they tried to lecture me on how I ordered it wrong, instead of just fixing the issue. Then I tasted it, and I had to throw it away because it was so gross. I have had a run of back luck with Paneras lately. It's a shame because I am close to just writing them off completely. For this singular instance, it started with trying to order via website 3 times without it actually going through. It never came up with an error message either. It just never gave me a confirmation. I finally gave up and went to the app to order. This time it went through but it had such a short amount of characters allowed on the instructions that I couldn't actually write a full sentence (I think it allows like 15 characters). It also changed the time I wanted to order the food to 3:40pm when I wanted it 3:45 or 3:50pm. Because of this, I called the store immediately to change the time. I also asked the woman who helped me on the phone to add extra dressing on the side. She said it was no problem to change the time and to do the extra dressing. This call was made around 3:27 or 3:28pm. I called back around 3:40pm to ask if we could pick it up even later because we were very delayed from what we were coming from. The man who answered immediately said, "I just made your order, it's already done," basically making it like there were no other options. It's made. I was so befuddled by this I didn't even know what to say. First of all, clearly the woman who helped me in the first call didn't change the time. Secondly, to act as if, that's it, the order's made, you have to come pick it up, too bad-- was just out of my imagination for what someone would say where customer satisfaction is important. My husband had to come on the phone and say, "go ahead and refund us then." That's finally when the guy said, okay I can remake it when you get here... But almost sounded reluctant. We ended up keeping the order, but we're disappointed with the food. I love Greek salads in any other setting and always give them a chance here, but consistently am disappointed with what I get. I think it's partially just not a very good salad and also because the "personalizations" that I put on there are not followed. They used to come with "pickled" red onions. When we ordered the other day it just said red onions. So I made a note that I wanted to make sure they were raw red onions, and to have extra. Nope- they were pickled and the amount was so small, you couldn't even see them through the side of the plastic bowl. Following your order to a tee is supposed to be a point of pride for Paneras. So this is definitely lacking. In addition, having someone who is happy to change the time and set up of the order so we are satisfied is something I would expect Panera tries to teach its employees. I couldn't believe this person's response when we called. One final note-- the bread at Panera is really good. When it's available (they do run out of baguettes sometimes and also bread bowls), it is the one thing that saves my meal. I think if I go to Panera it should be to get bread or dessert. The just out of high school kids that work here have little to no experience with customer service, counting change, taking orders, cleaning tables, or making food. I haven't been to Panera in awhile so when my bill was unusually high I thought everything is going up in price. When I looked at the receipt I saw I was incorrectly charged. I brought it to the cashier's attention who left and came back and offered to give me a pastry or cookie. I told her I didn't want either. I ordered a salad to be health and don't eat high calorie treats. The manager was preparing my meal so when I picked up my food I explained what happened and that I would no longer patronize their restaurant due to this incident. I let him know they needed to properly train their staff. He then offered to refund the extra money charged. I told him didn't want the money at that point. I just wanted to have a nice meal after a long days work. Definitely will not be going back anytime soon. They also need to get staff who can count. The cashier couldn't count change. I had to count aloud to help her. Again, train staff to do their job. read more

Panera is not vegan friendly and just about every single time I've ordered something without meat, it ends up with meat on it. If I've asked for no meat but please add some extra toppings (on their salads) they nickel and dime every item so they charge me 16.00 for a salad with no meat! They don't subtract from price for no meat (though most places don't) but they're sure happy to charge you extra for everything. I've ordered their corn chowder online for pickup only to be told they were out. (As an aside I sure wish they offered their corn chowder year round). Anyway, if you come in during "rush hour" to this store, be prepared for a long claustrophobic line and long waits in very tight quarters. read more

Horrible service in general. I ordered from them from DoorDash once- they put the wrong food in there and I could even eat it bc I am allergic to one of the ingredients. Ordered food to be picked up and they forgot to put in several items. Ordered again through DoorDash and my food bag arrived open. Fine not their fault but then I spent the next ten to twenty minutes trying to call them. No answer. And when I told them my issue, you know when they answered the phone FINALLY, All I got was a half hearted apology each time and an excuse that the phone doesn't work each time. Not acceptable. Have always like Panera and frequent the other Concord and Walnut Creek locations. This location opened about a month ago and I wanted to wait for them to get organized. I guess I can't wait long enough! It was a horrible experience from beginning to end. Filthy floor and tables that had not been bussed, silverware that was still filthy (with the prior users fingerprints on it still!), dirty dishes stacked at the garbage areas, lack of inventory, crowded and overall unhygienic. Forgot to mention it took 30 minutes for a salad and a sandwich to be prepared and that while there seemed to be plenty of staff, most were standing around looking at their phones. I had 3 separate orders and at first the worker only took payment for the first 2 and not the last one, i was waiting for him to come back to take my card but he shut the window on me. I'm giving 3 stars for the food because it was good however they forgot 2 things from my order and this is not the first time. The other thing I noticed was that is was busy but the employees were just moving at their own pace which wasn't very fast when you have a line. My kid even commented how slow the service was. I was really looking forward to trying out the new location, as I really enjoy the one in Countrywood shopping center. I guess I was expecting too much. The food was not what I expected, and the service sucked. The young lady that took my order was fine, but after waiting for twenty minutes for soup and a sandwich I went and asked for a status and was told it had been sitting on the pickup counter for a while. The kid that was at the counter looked up and said " I called your name" and walked away. Nobody thought to check out when it wasn't picked up. I'll try at another time of day, but there were only 2 or 3 other customers in the restaurant. The grilled cheese sandwich with bacon and tomato had no tomato, barely cooked bacon and was barely warmed and certainly not grilled. I placed an online order for 10:05 am pickup. I ordered a hot breakfast sandwich, hot soup and smoothies. When I got there at 10:07 I was told the soup wouldn't be ready until 10:30 but they had made the hot sandwich and frozen smoothies. The employee Janell said I could take all that and wait outside until the soup was ready. As I was outside waiting I'm realizing the hot sandwich is now 20 mins old and cold. When I went in to get the soups I asked if they could make a fresh sandwich due to the error of making it when the other items weren't available/ready. Janelle starts on about how she isn't making another sandwich because I took that one outside already so I asked the manager and was explaining to her and janelle keeps going on 'I'm not doing, I already made one and she took it out - now she just be asking for free food - I'm not'. I did curse in the heat of the moment and said 'are you Effing kidding me? I never asked for anything for free - you made the hot sandwich and frozen drinks and told me to take them and wait outside until the soup was done'. So the manager had her take her break and cool off while she made me a new sandwich. To make it clear the computers at the front are if you are paying with a card but this isn't made clear so we went through all that hassle to go to the cashier and actually order there. So we did... quick and easy as we knew what we wants but the customer service was meh. It wasn't overly busy either so I'm not sure about that. She did offer a cookie for 99c but there was no alternatives for sides which we didn't know about because we ended up with bread as a side when we had sandwiches... the seating needs working on. It's very close proximity as you have people passing though you as you are eating as they are grabbing your food and leaving. I just love to be elbowed in the back of the head... seems alright for the latest teenage hang out, no highchairs... bummer because most of her food ended up on the floor.
