About the area and about Panera: First of all if you want to park at Panera's for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, parking can be a pain in the butt: it's a small lot with very cramped space. But it's nice because it is quite snug in between Peet's Coffee, Whole Foods, Target and Bombey Oven (if you go a little more down on Target's side, you'll reach Marina Foods, Pho Minh, and Tapioca Express). Panera is the heavens of all heavens to study. It provides a really relaxing environment and it's quite nice to be there. On a typical Panera visit, you'll usually see study groups or tutoring sessions happening. It's nice, but if you want to sit down with a large group, finding a seat during meal times may be a bit stressful. About the food: The food at Panera is warm, and gives off this home-y feeling. However, your wallet might be taking a dive: the prices may be really pricey... so if you want a super cheap meal, Panera might not be your number 1. But it's worth it! They list healthy food options and their calorie counts (even the sweets!) and if you ask the people that work at the cashiers about each of the foods, they usually give you a brief summary of what goes in and the nutritional contents. Chicken noodle soup: 190 calories per bowl. It's perfect if you want a warm soup to warm up your soul and help you ease into that winter mood. However, this soup can tend to be very salty and quite oily. Paninis: I, personally, have not tried their paninis a lot, but the last few times I've had them, they were extremely greasy and were really salty. Not the greatest experience. Overall: If you want a place to study and munch at the same time, it's a go! Be prepared to spend good moneys worth on good food and watch out on the sweets! They're killer delicious. Came here to just hang out and review some class notes on Easter Sunday (it's the few stores that are open on Easter around the area!) It's located right next to peets and whole foods down the street. Got a coffee and shared a chocolate croissant with the bf. 5 stars for the chocolate croissant and 3 stars for the overall ambiance, so 4 stars for this place. Oh my, the chocolate croissant ($2.49) was delicious!! I went to get another one after we devoured it in 3 minutes. You get a cup to get coffee for about $2, there's light roast, decaf, hazelnut, dark roast that you can fill your cup with- coffee comes in small, medium, large. I believe you can also refill your cup if you dine in. This location is probably not the best place to study since there are a lot of family and a few high school kids, so the place can be rowdy sometimes. Good place to hang out or have lunch/breakfast though. They also have free wifi (30 minute sessions) there that seemed to work fine, since the bf was able to stream youtube videos okay. If you order food, the staff will bring the plate up to you. Overall, I think the staff were very friendly and their chocolate croissant is awesome (can't stay here too long though or else I will keep buying their croissants....ugh)!! Terrible service, no food, manager does not care, cold food Today I had to wait 45 minutes and my order was not ready. I go to claim my food and she said "I am behind" I spoke with a manager who do not care at all and told me "I am short 4 people". I literally almost come here everyday. And I have always experienced a really kind and welcoming staff. The service has always been prompt and the food always more than amicable. It is what one would expect from a chain such as Panera. But honestly there is a charm to the staff here that you don't quite get at other Panera's. I've been to quite a few from CA to NY. I'm sure they have their off days but I have not experienced one yet. The only criticism I can give is that there is a lack of a tip jar for the really kind service staff. Also I can't utilize their internet to play WoW(World of Warcraft). But honestly thats just being picky at that point. All in all it is a pretty nice calming and friendly atmosphere in here. Ok it's Panera, everyone studies here, and if you're lucky you can get the coveted (or maybe not) corner booth...the one right behind the drink dispenser. Everytime I go there tends to be a good crowd...and if it sucks you can always go to Peet's (!!!) next door. Frontega Chicken is my favorite panini--shredded chicken that's not overly shredded, mayo, tomatos, mozzarella cheese--classic and yeah bet everyone's had it before but just saying. Their bagels aren't too bad...asiago toasted with their whipped butter spreads, served on a huge plate and napkins makes it feel like you're getting a huge MEAL for the price of about ~$1.30. Plus the all-you-can-eat lemons in the waters...and their choice of spreads in packets: mayo, mustard (brown, maybe dijon but it's spicy and good), classic mustard, etc. Apparently I've already reviewed this before, oops forgot, bet my update isn't much of an update. This place always bakes this delicious haliboo (sp?) bread on Fridays and I've only been able to get it once but then I went on vacation so it was no good after :( I love Panera Bread because everything tastes so good and fresh even though there is just an enormous amount of sodium for the most part and a lot of their sandwiches contain lots of fat. I think in the end if you walk into Panera Bread knowing this and not expecting it to be a healthy place but simply a place with fresh, great food, then you will have a great experience. I love the Cinnamon Raisin bread here, its my staple breakfast food for years now. and the cinnamon sugared crust on top of the loaf is the favorite part.. However, the loaf size is getting to get alarmingly tinier these days. a slice of the bread is hardly 3 inches wide when it it used to be...regular bread size a few months back! I am not even sure as to how many slices is one serving size anymore. I simply have to give Panera 5 stars. I know that parking can be a pain, especially since it's right next to a Peet's Coffee, but it's well worth it! And there's extra parking in the back if needed. I always order a chipotle chicken panini and two-three cups of broccoli cheddar soup (which I have been addicted to for the past year or so). The best way to enjoy the soup is to dip your free piece of baguette into the soup -- try it! The cashiers are friendly, helpful, and the food is great. NOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! How could you Panera take away the ONLY sandwich you had going for you!!! It was a delicious sandwich that had some Dijon mustard infused in the meats or bread, after you took it off. I was devastated. I've tried a lot of their sandwiches and they are just alright for their price. The pepper blue steak is boring and plain. It has lots of meat but the meat can be dry and chewy. The chicken salad sandwich has way too much dressing and tends to soak up the bread. The chicken ceaser sandwich tastes like chicken salad salad and is typical tasting, sounds just like the name. The frontega chicken sandwhich is good but the bread tends to get soggy and soft. And some various other sandwiches that I don't remember much. I hate how you have to wait till 10 or 11 to get their panini sandwiches. WTF does it take like 4 hrs to get the panini machine ready or something. Also they don't serve soups till that time either. RAWR!!! Their pastries are alright. The egg souffles was mushy in the center and not well baked. The strawberry and cream pastry was also ok. Dry and broke apart too easily. I've had the foccacia bread, for some reason when I got it was pretty oily. I come here when I want to eat healthy and craving a sandwich. btw I just went to their website and DUM DUM DUM DRUMROLL!!! The lady massively underscooped my friend rice and chow mein and when I complained about it, she said one scoop per serving even though she didn't even take a full scoop. When I asked for a bit more, they said it would be my first entree and barely even gave me a scoop for that one too, she barely filed my box. This is one of the best Panera experiences I've had, not to say that other experiences at Panera's have been bad in the past but the lady that helped me out really put a smile on my face. I am addicted to Panera's Chocolate Chipper Cookie. It's really just a chocolate chip cookie but it's the perfect texture and ratio of chocolate to cookie every time. There's also something about that dough that makes it so good. I came in to get some work done but I obviously needed a cookie as a snack and one for later just in case. The cashier that helped me let me know that she had some that were just done cooling enough to serve so essentially straight from the oven. There were some older ones that had been sitting out but she made sure to give me the newer ones. She asked if I wanted them warmed up, which I declined. She also helped me input my Panera Rewards number. They always ask me for a card but I've never seen this mythical card. A phone number was good enough in this case. She let me know that I had a reward available that was only redeemable through the mobile app. She also checked how I wanted my cookies for here (on a plate) or to go (in paper bags). Typing it all out it seems like a really mundane action but she was super into it and really thorough which was just extremely satisfying to me for some reason. This Panera was a good size. The sectioning of the tables was pretty smart. There are a lot of walls that block sight lines and stop the noise from passing through from section to section. I managed to find a table that was big enough for 5 people very easily. We all had our laptops and the only downside was not seeing any outlets nearby. While we were there I noticed that almost immediately after another table left, an employee raced over to check what clean up items they needed to clear the table and started getting right to work. This Panera shares its parking lot with a Peet's and was easy enough to get in and out of. The clean tables, friendly atmosphere, and addictive cookies will get me back in here soon enough. read more

I rarely go to this one on Stevens Creek and found today that it has poor service. When one staff didn't find my free pastry and the 2nd one found it, the 2nd Staff said 'Everybody made mistake'. It tasted pretty good and the containers for takeout were nice but my husband said that his was the smallest $10 salad he's ever received with the least amount of chicken. It was about like one chicken tender. The container looked half full. PLEASE LISTEN TO OUR STORY!!! A few weeks ago my husband and I were eating at Panera. We were finishing up our meal when I heard a huge crack coming from his mouth. I will never forget the look on his face!! He immediately got up from the table, went to our local dentist to discover he had fractured two of his upper teeth on their pecan braid. He called the Hayden, Idaho Panera only to get the "I'll have someone call you", which never happened. We then called corporate and were told they could not help him but would "give him a gift card". After researching the internet, we have found that others have gone through an identical situation. Panera has tolerable coffee, great sourdough and a passable bear claw. They also have inexpensive fast food breakfasts that are tasty and filling if I'm in a hurry. Panera has a loyalty card that Sofie uses when she goes there to buy our bread, so when it is ripe she brings me a bear claw to eat with the rewards. How could you not like Panera when they favor you with a bear claw? How could you not like Sofie when she does all the leg work of getting the bread and keeping the loyalty card active? read more
