The great thing about this location is the people. They greet me with a warm welcome early mornings when I pick up dozens of bagels for the office. They get right to it and keep my waiting time minimal. I know they work very hard, but they are always kind and courteous. This matters. The Panera bagels are loved by everyone I work with. The packaging is thoughtful and easy to transport. The pricing is good. I can't give 5 stars for two reasons: 1) because the other baked products are fresh and tasty but not the best in their class and, 2) the Panera club card asks for too much information and promises to share it with any third parties of their choice ...that's too steep a price to pay for the discounts and freebies one gets for registering for a card with Panera. read more

today i headed out to check out the st. patty's festival in dublin. i couldn't believe how much traffic this event caused. parking was of course scarce so it was a long walk to and from the civic center where it was being held. you see one craft fair you have pretty much seen them all so i was out of there within 15 minutes. i did however spend most of my time browsing the food tents looking for something for lunch. nothing too healthy but i did find a booth bbqing some smoked turkey legs. these are my weakness but they were $10. i couldn't believe this! these things are cheaper at disneyland even and are 100 times better. i passed on the leg and left driving around for ideas. it was getting late so i stopped off at panera for a quick sandwich. let me just say i would have been better off with the $10 turkey leg. so i order the frontega chicken panini which has pulled white meat chicken, mozzarella, tomatoes, red onions, chopped basil & and chipotle mayonnaise on grilled focaccia. i asked the guy at the counter for extra sauce and basil and he tells me he can't do it because all of the sandwiches are pre-made. WHAT? that is the last thing you want to tell the customer. oh well! i took a seat outside and by the time i got settled in my sandwich was delivered to me. talk about pre-made. that was almost too fast. the sandwich looked really good but that's where it ended. when i took the first bite it almost came apart on me and the bread was so dry. i know it's a hot sandwich and it's grilled but i'm talking dry as in old. it's has so dry and hard it cut up the roof of my mouth. it had pretty good flavor but i felt as if i was eating a really dry pizza. honestly it tasted like those stouffers french bread pizzas. i used to like those growing up but this was a sandwich gone bad. darn you $10 turkey leg! it's all your fault! read more

I would almost give five stars, but this place still seemed a bit disorganized. I'm thinking maybe they're still training new employees and/or working out the kinks? Anyway, no major problems. The employee taking my order had a problem with the cash register and had to retake the order and I think I said/was asked about five times if I wanted mustard on my tuna sandwich. No. Fuck mustard. But she was totally nice and friendly so it wasn't a big deal. Prices really aren't that bad. It's still hard to find a cheap lunch in the Valley, but at least you get a lot of food and a lot of quality for your money here. I got a half tuna sandwich (not huge but very good, am totally going back for a whole one sometime) and a cup of the creamy tomoto soup with cheesy croutons (which they give you in a separate to-go baggy so they don't get soggy, except I like soggy croutons). With your lunch you also get a choice of bread, apple or chips. I opted for the apple but it was so sad -- when I set it on my desk back at the office, it rolled straight into the garbage can! Sad! So I cannot comment on the tastiness of the apple (though the cashier swore they were really good and commended me on my choice). I also shared a chocolate chip cookie (only 99 cents with purchase of lunch!) and it was very tasty and soft and boy do I wish I didn't share it. Heh heh. I am pretty pumped to have a Panera closer to work/home and plan to come back again sometime. We didn't eat in, and although it was kind of crowded/crazy/noisy, I'm sure it would be OK once you sat down. There were still tables available. read more

The runners have no clue where any tables are, and bring me the wrong food at least once a month, only for me to return it, and watch them give it to someone else when it's been in front of me. Mathew is amazing and needs praising. He's always so nice and calls me by my first name whether I dine in or take out. i like their soups (especially the turkey chili i think it was -- some kind of chili). i recently tried one of their salads and found the lettuce to be wilted and not fresh, and i wasn't impressed by the flavor either. now i stick to the "u pick 2" with soup and a sandwich, with a baguette side. the chipotle chicken sandwich is delicious! oh and don't say "combo" if you want the "u pick 2" deal because there's a sandwich named the combo and things can get confusing, as i learned the hard way. :P read more

I usually love panera, but this Dublin location is very dirty. I was there on a Saturday afternoon for my first & last time. The carpets were dirty (needed sweeping and vacuuming), the tables were not clean (needed to be wiped down), the garbage and tubs for dirty dishes were over flowing, and the staff was not attentive. But the worst part was finding poop (with flies swarming) on the floor in the bathroom. It's safe to say I lost my appetite. Go to the San Ramon location instead, because this Dublin one was not sanitary. read more

I have decided to boycott this place after two bad experiences. I am a huge fan of the honey walnut cream cheese on a bagel, and I usually go there specifically for this. Last week I went there for the aforementioned walnut cream cheese on a bagel, and I also got a cup of the mushroom soup. The soup was so bad that I couldn't eat more than 10 bites of it! Today I went there again for the walnut cream cheese and a bagel to go. When I got home I opened the bag to find that they had forgotten to give me the cream cheese, and the bagel was stale. For a place known for their bread to have stale bagels is unacceptable. And no cream cheese, which I paid for! I will no longer waste my time and money going here. read more

This review is for Jason, a manager at Panera. Today I took my girlfriend who is in the last stages of a rare form of altzheimers and can barely walk. Jason was leaving for a break but when he saw us approaching Panera ,with her leaning heavily on my arm, he came back, held the door open and helped my friend to a table. He then offered to sit with her so's I could order sandwiches; he treated her to a complimentary coke. When we were eating he came back to see if we needed anything. This guy was AWESOME - extremely kind and compassionate. The food at this Panera is always good but this manager.... he is something else. Thank you. read more

Came in this place today mid afternoon for a late lunch with my hubby. We were both shocked to see the line of people waiting to order food even that time of day. We decided to go on and waited in line. As we made our order, we noticed about 20 customers were waiting for their food. What was disturbing was out of all the people waiting for their food not including the ones still waiting in line to order, there was only 2 person making the food. Our wait turned out to be 45 minutes. Once we got our food , I was completely shocked and baffled to see just half a sandwich that cost me $8 . I just couldn't believe that it was NEVER inform by cashier. What sit down restaurant sells half a sandwich and charges you so much? Not only that Panera Bread is very stingy with their stuff. Couldn't believed my husband ask to have a piece of bread with his salad and the attendant took his chips because he says he couldn't have both. Is he INSANE? That's absolutely PATHETIC!!! Had we known it was going to be this terrible place , we would have been much better off going to Mr Pickles in San Ramon and got much cheaper sandwich but completely satisfied. Singlehandedly, the dirtiest Panera probably in all of North America, and definitely in the Bay Area. The food associates do not know how to cook food. Our sandwiches, which we asked to be toasted, were completely burned. My daughter's sandwich was also inedible. Table was dirty, I asked for it to be cleaned. They came by with a soaking wet towel (God knows from where) and proceeded to clean the table and the bench seats and walked away. I called dude back and said, "Do you expect me to sit on the wet seat?" He responded, "Oh yeah, let me get something to dry it." This is the second time we've had a terrible experience here. Suffice it to say, there will NOT be a third time. My wife and I also had stomach aches right after eating our lunch here, although I can't confirm it was caused by the food from Panera. Just came in for dinner on a Thursday night around 9. Nobody was waiting to take orders so I ordered at the kiosk. When it came time to pay, the touch screen told me to take a pager and input a pager number. The pager unit was empty. There was noo one in the front to assist, so I looked around until I found one at one of other kiosks on the other side of the lobby. After I ordered, it took over 15 mins to get my order (chicken Ceasar salad). It was a change from the usual wait I experience at panera (5-10 mins at most). For a non-busy night, I was surprised and a little frustrated. Other customers were frustrated as well. The staff was nice, but seemed tired and disgruntled. It seemed there were a dozen people in the dining area but nobody behind the register or in the kitchen making the food. read more

Some of the staff here seemed a bit short with simple things like "you're out of water cups." They also have a 30 minute wifi policy. If you are going to be a place people come to get work done, this seems unreasonable. Very nice, very casual place to get a nice meal at a good price. The bread is very good. I had the Italian sandwich. It was very tasty and the muffaletta on it added to the flavor profile. I also had a half Caesar salad t that was very good. very good dressing and came with fresh bread. I also have to say that the young lady that greeted us at the register was a treasure. Her smile was warm and genuine ( Selena ). So we got off to a good start. Picked up some scones and pastries for later which were very good also. My first time here was not very pleasant. Whenever I decided on a sandwich I wanted, they told me that I couldn't modify it. For example, no mustard please? Not possible! I'm not sure if it was just that once or an every day type deal but it definitely turned me off. My second time dining there was better but only because I was able to choose a selection that didn't need to be altered in any way.. First off. Panera is super good, usually... My and my buddy got Mac and cheese and I immediately noticed that is was less creamy and a little dry. But still fine. I wish I could have some good things to say about the food here. Unfortunately, I don't. I tried the Bacon Turkey Bravo sandwich and the Chopped Chicken Cobb salad. The sandwich was something just plopped together. Meat, lettuce, cheese, and some dressing between bread. The salad looked like it came from those cheap pre-packaged salad bags you can buy at the grocery store, just this one had avocados, eggs, and bacon to spruce it up. Also over drenched in dressing. I have been going to Panera for a long time and they can never get my order right. It's simple.. Fuji Apple chicken salad no onions or tomatoes and extra dressing on the side. What did I end up getting was onions on my salad and no extra dressing. I realize you are hiring older adults(which is great) but they need to know how to take an order and your preparers how to make the order correct. The restaraunt is messy and there isn't anyone to assist you once you sit down. As much as I enjoy their food I do not recommend this place if you want your order done correctly. read more

Came on my lunch break, in the mood for one of their great salads. Ordered at 12:30. They were busy, but made mention of a long wait. FORTY minutes later, still no food. I asked at the prep counter, and they could not tell me how much longer it would be. So I demanded my money back, as I was due back at work. Blew my whole lunch hour waiting, and ended up having to rush back to work and finish my workday without any food. To top it off, they deducted my fountain drink from the refund--they didn't even have the courtesy to comp the drink as an apology for the wait. In fact, there was no apology at all. When I asked why they weren't warning customers of the long wait times, they replied, "we had no of knowing it would take long". Um...you can see how many orders are in the que, you can see how many people are in line, and you know roughly how long it takes to prepare the average order. DO NOT GO HERE if you are on a schedule, or simply expect to be served in a reasonable timeframe. I was SO temped to get the attention of everyone in line, and warn them of the long wait! read more

Well, Panera Bread is pretty much like any other deli/bakery in terms of what to expect - sandwiches and paninis! The ambience is what makes it a whole lot different from your at the corner Subay or Quiznos or Toasty. Their menu is rather different. The sandwiches come pre-made, meaning you can't choose your veggies. But, if you ask them politely to not include something you want, they oblige you. A vast array of signature salads, soups, sandwiches and paninis is a delight. But if you are vegetarian, then your options are limited. Which kind of put me off. I liked whatever I chose from the sandwich menu. Their Mediterranean sandwich and tomato mozzarella panini are yum. However, here comes the reason for reduction in stars.Their soups. Their soups are something I'd consume only if I were attempting to lose weight or I am extremely calorie conscious or have a really nasty cold, and therefore don't care about the taste. Bland, saltless oh and, tasteless. Atleast the two soups I had. I had to pour a nice lump of salt and pepper to be able to finish my soups off. (My husband associates Panera with their soup, which was his stable diet when he was sick this one time and was rather hesistant to go along with me here. LOL.) Price-wise, they are pretty reasonable. Around the $8 for the "You pick 2" option, which enables you to choose 2 of the 3 - salad, soup and sandwich. Free wifi and comfortable seating is appealing. They have happy helpers around who bring your food to you. Would I go back? Maybe for the panini. Haven't tried their salads yet. So maybe that'd change my opinion and I'd care two hoots about their soup. read more
