Wife and I ordered the new buffalo chicken melt sandwich and it turns out it's nothing more than Costco rotisserie chicken and Kraft singles. Unfortunately, half the chicken was cold and the cheese only semi-melted. Employees forgot to add the buffalo sauce. Terrible and absolutely no flavor. Between this and my kids lunches, we paid over $80. I get it that things cost more these days, but if families are going to plunk down what it essentially costs to go to a sit down restaurant (no, Panera isn't a restaurant...), then at least make the food correctly and serve it warm. This is clearly the best Panera I've ever been to. The employees and manager are polite, attentive, and effective! My order was taken accurately and carefully. My salad was absolutely beautiful! The manager came to my table to see if I was satisfied, which I was :) This store has kiosks for ordering as an option to standing in line. They also have GPS at the table assigned to the order so the food is brought straight out without the server walking around looking for a number . The restaurant is clean and pleasant. There is outside seating also. They have fresh baked bread and pastries. They have a Panera app so free food can be earned and food can be ordered in advance or from the table. Not only do the bagels apparently or supposedly don't come with a cream cheese but when you ask for the cream cheese, they charge you 2.69 which is just as much as the bagel. LOCATION & PARKING // The inside looks like your standard Panera. The parking here sucks. Although it's located in a larger plaza, the large crowds make it so difficult to get in and out of here. It's always packed with students coming and going. For me, I deal with these but I still come here because the location is convenient. It's right off the 57 freeway. FOOD // I like the You Pick 2 options here. My favorites are the CHIPOTLE AVOCADO FLATBREAD and either a soup (I'm not picky) or, recently, the ASIAN CHICKEN SALAD. It fills you up for a lunch meal. It comes with a side and you can pick either a French baguette, fruit, or a bag of chips. I choose the chips, obviously. If you would like, you can order a drink cup (refillable) and they have numerous options of sodas or even healthier teas and lemonades. I like to mix the AGAVE LEMONADE with the PEAR HIBISCUS. SERVICE // It's pretty easy as you order at the front and take your number to your table. A server will bring you your food. Nothing to complain about here. Customer Service here sucks. Everyone has a really bad attitude. I was the second person in line and I see an elderly couple in front. They had questions about the food items and they were hard of hearing, the girl working in the front was so impatient with them and was giving them attitude I felt bad for the couple. I finally order my food and while I'm waiting the manager is having a personal conversation with the employees that you can hear clear as day talking badly about other employees. July 2019 Located in a shopping center with shared private parking (Office Depot, Dollar Tree, Burger King, Phil's Coffee, etc) Theirs two areas to pay (Cashier, Self Serving Kiosk). Both are located at the main entrance of walk in. The self servicing kiosk machine is simple to use but the order can not be customized unless it's included ingredients of the meal (Less/more). The only issue with the machine is the card swipe device sucks!! I had to swipe 3-4x. The pager and drink cups will be behind each of the iPad devices. Drink stations are located at the far back corner closer to the pickup window station. Drinks offered are Coke Products, Coffee, Tea, Lemonades. The location has plenty of seating areas with electrical outlets available closer to the section in front of the main entrance. Perfect to grab a bite to eat and work on assignments. read more

To enter the Panera franchise bonanza, one must purchase a "market area" (probably more than 1 strip mall), the owner group has to be well capitalized with high net worth ($7.5MM and $3MM liquid), and already successful in real estate and multi-unit restaurant operations. Every time I go inside the store, the pastries are amazing. Makes me want to buy them all. But of course I always hold back. I love coming here because the atmosphere is soothing and relaxing. This was one of the worst dining experiences. I've had in a very, very long time. It was almost as if though, they were going out of their way to be rude, slow and unprofessional. I ordered a chipotle chicken sandwich that honestly had about three pieces of chicken in it that were dry and old. I waited at least 20 minutes for my sandwich to be ready and there was hardly anyone in the place when I questioned how much longer it might take for my sandwich And asked why it takes so long to make a sandwich I was told that the employees behind the counter were busy making sandwiches for DoorDash and such. You were moving slower than molasses to make anything at all. I got my sandwich and asked how much longer it might be for my soup and I was told that someone would get it for me. I finished my sandwich. The soup never came so I asked for my money back. I was made to feel as though I was the one who had done something wrong. I was credited back to my card the money for my soup that I never got and was told that it might take up to 10 days or so to receive that credit. I will not be returning back to this place. We ordered a blood orange lemonade (something I've had multiple times) and it wastes like the citrus had turned. I will never return to this Panera. I'm starting to really not like Panera bread. A few years ago I use to be all about this place and rave about how great this place is. Now I feel like they really have no idea how to make customers wanting to return back. This location specifically has a 30 min parking limit right in front of the parking spaces. So if you would like to stay past 30 minutes I guess you would have to move your car again. When you walk inside you get greeted with people taking your order and placing it. Once you order they will give you a number to put on your table. Well my food came out before I even was able to get my drink. I ordered a iced coffee doesn't sound to bad to do. They just have to give me a cup of ice and I fill it with the coffee. Well the coffee container was empty and they said it would only take a few minutes. It took so long that my food came out and the server was trying to find me. But of course I was just waiting, and waiting. I don't think I will be back to this one. This review is specifically for the Fullerton location on State College off Chapman. I love Panera. This was my first visit to this location. I ordered a full green goddess salad w chicken. I requested x mixed greens, x pickled onions, three dressings, and no tomato. The cashier read my order back to me, I paid, then sat down to wait for my salad to go. Before my order was complete, I happened to notice my receipt showed "no salad greens" and fortunately I was able to catch them before they sent me off with what would likely be no salad, just the toppings When I got to my truck I took a quick look in the bag to verify there were no tomatoes before I drove away. There were none. Good. But there were only two, half-filled dressing cups. And no baguette! Wth. So I went back inside to get my baguette. I decided I didn't need a third dressing; I might as well avoid the (minimal) extra calories a third dressing would have added. Wish I would've noticed the low level in the dressing cups before I chose to not ask for another! Oh well. So, let's sum things up, shall we? * no salad greens * no third dressing (and the two I received were only half filled) * no baguette! Oh, and later when I ate my salad, I noticed there were actually very few pickled onions, just a few pieces of chicken, and one sliver of avocado. It was as though the toppings were merely an afterthought. So a final summation: Initially: * no salad greens * no third dressing * no baguette! Then, to add to that: * maybe five slivers of pickled onion * one sliver of avocado * five small pieces of chicken I think their nutrition info says this salad provides 43g of protein (or thereabouts). There is no way the chicken in my salad even amounted to 20g protein. If that. No way. In conclusion, I will restate my total love of Panera and their green goddess salad. I mean, that's my favorite salad of all. I go to the location in Brea all the time (2x a week) and the only mistake they've ever made was putting extra tomatoes on it (one time), and going light on the greens (all in the same visit). Always to go, so I needed to return that particular time. Now, I take a look before driving off. The cashier that time told me that sometimes, even though they punch in 'extra', the receipt (and by extension, the order) comes out w 'no mixed greens'. This, even though the order is repeated back every time. That makes zero sense to me. So this is why I gave them a one star review. It's ridiculous how many things went wrong in one simple order! Not only do they pay zero attention to the special requests at this location, they were also very very VERY chintzy on the toppings. I'll just go to the Brea location from now on. Well... if you call it a soufflé then it doesn't sound expensive at $4.99. lol They have vegetarian options with artichoke and they meat lover soufflé with egg and bacon. The soufflés are about 4" round. I have to say that quiche/soufflé was delicious and creamy. I would've liked a little bit more flavor or seasoning. I also got the pecan braid. Fullerton Location: I've been eating the Chicken & Wild Rice soup for years now, it has always been thick and hearty, and today I had 2 servings picked up. Both of them had very little chicken or rice, and the broth was so liquidy I thought they gave the wrong soup on the order. If I weren't starving, I would take them back to the store and have them remake a new batch. It looks like they were short on ingredients and added way way too much water to "stretch" the batch of soup in the pot. VERY DISAPPOINTING! And the soup was also way too salty! read more

This store is consistently disappointing. It's not well staffed or well maintained. The dining room looks nice but is usually dirty tables, scuffed paint on walls, wet floor signs out etc. For sip club drink pickup, this store does not meet expectations. Most of the time beverages are not placed on the shelf, resulting in having to stand in line to pick up a cup, which negates the ease of ordering through the app. Additionally, the ice machine is frequently jammed and the charged lemonades are often not out. I ordered food through the app at this location for the first time today for dine in, entered my table number as requested, and waited for the food to be brought to the table as confirmed in the app. My order was not brought to my table so I finally went up and saw it sitting in the pickup window. (An employee did offer to "reheat" it, which I declined.) After eating a good portion of it, I found a hair that did not match my hair type at all. When I went to go inform the kitchen at the window, I had to speak to get the attention of the three workers who were standing there gossiping before they acknowledged me. A quiet place to do homework or catch up with friends. The parking can get a but crowded but it's a college town after all. They have kiosks on the side that make it easy and quicker to order if you have a Panera card. While it's a little pricier you do get a bit more quality. I usually come for breakfast and coffee.
