This is one of the worst ran places I've ever seen and the fact that Panera corporate doesn't come in and do something is crazy. First let me say I've been going here for years. But in the last couple months you show up and there's a sign on the door that they're closed in the dining room. The restaurant overall was very clean and we were helped right away. I hadn't been there before so that was kind of a nice way to kick things off. They were out of the bread bowls (which I feel like is probably something they serve in a limited quantity? Who knows.) The food is priced OK. I received an entire bowl of soup which I wasn't able to finish. Their bread is not as soft as some other places; I'd consider it very tough. Their tea and lemonade are both very good. On this visit, I received dirty silverware and my plate that my bread was served on had food particles on it. It's not a huge deal but definitely bumped the grade down a couple of stars. Cleanliness is pretty important in food service and there are ways to avoid those situations. I would probably return to this location and just request plasticware to save myself the trouble. read more

Today my boss and other colleagues had travelled to our Indy location but they stayed downtown and as is customary they brought bagels in for their visit with our staff. Another Panera location had shorted our order and provided no napkins or utensils. I called and spoke to our Raceway Panera and the Manager there bent over backwards to make it right. Downtown the phone wasn't picking up so the Raceway Manager personally drove over our shorted order items and extra supplies. Way to save the day!! read more

I usually don't have a problem when coming here. I usually get great customer service. But when I came in today, they had a hard time getting my order right. All I wanted was a turkey and lettuce sandwich. The lady said "that's not on my menu". And I asked if they could make it because I come to get it quite often. She said they didn't have the right lettuce. But how could you not have the "right" lettuce when you make salads all day. So, I am a frequent flyer at Panera and travel a lot for work. This also means I visit s lot of different locations. This one however happens to be my home location that I visit the most. My last couple visits have been better than ever and tonight while I came through the drive thru for my dinner order, James assisted me. After a very long day I was even grumpy and he was very pleasant from the minute I pulled up, answered all my questions and just provided great customer service!! My wife and I dined in today at Panera bread in Avon. Normally the food at this location is pretty good but today is an exception. We both ordered the choose two with the Thai chicken salad which is always good and a half a sandwich both of which were awful. I got the chipotle bacon melt sandwich, Which was nothing more than a grilled cheese on white bread with two strips of bacon, no chipotle, nothing that even resemble chipotle and nothing that even resembled spice. My wife ordered a teriyaki chicken sandwich that looked delicious in the picture but was completely disappointing. It was made with chopped up chicken pieces, no sauce, very very dry. The kitchen appeared confused and they were very slow in producing our lunches. Hopefully this is the one and only bad experience will have at Panera bread. Oh and I almost forgot to mention showing two dollar signs for the value of this establishment is a gift to them. It should be more like three or four. We spent nearly $30 for lunch and Went away very disappointed. read more

We have had excellent service in the past. Tonight not so much. I had a gift card purchased and a local grocery. I had used this card recently in Carmel. The cashier incorrectly ran it and told me it was refused and I could not use it. I told him I had recently and if he couldn't do it he needed to get a manager who could. He threw up his hands saying, "ok, ok.", as if I were being irate. The manager asked me where I had used the card then replied this card wasn't good in IN. I assured her again it was purchased locally and I had already used it locally. She then asked me if the cashier had ran it as credit. How would I know. The back of the card said, right at the top that it should be ran as credit not gift. She ran it as credit and guess what? It worked!!! I resent being treated as if I were doing something wrong. I also didn't receive an apology. After dealing with the manager I know why the cashier's attitude was to blame the customer. It starts at the top. Teach your employees to treat the customers with respect! The food was excellent, as always. read more

I've really enjoyed this Panera location since it opened. However, it seems as though the staff is beginning to slack-off quite a bit. About 1-2 times per week I'll grab a cup of coffee on my way into work. There are a few friendly staff members, but there is one girl who isn't very warm and fuzzy. Otherwise the coffee is generally stocked & fresh (within the hour). I've noticed food wait times becoming longer and the order accuracy becoming weaker. This being said, the staff is pretty nice when mistakes happen and quick to fix the problem. On the other hand, I've been quite a few times recently when it's been moderately busy, but nobody cleans tables. This happened to me yesterday: I ended up having to sit at a not-so-clean table by the back door and was pretty cold the entire time. Although this review highlights some of the more negative things, I genuinely do prefer this location over most others. ---- Update: It seems as though they've got their act together & hired newer staff members who are genuinely friendly - HUGE plus! My previous review rated this location a 3, but I'm definitely bumping it up to a 4. The dining room is clean much more regularly as of late & the staff is much more attentive to dishes at the yeah areas. What a hot mess. We used the drive thru. The coffees came "assembly required." They gave us a bag of sugars and creamers and no stir sticks. We ordered a bagel with butter... no butter. We ordered a power sandwich... the avocado was in a pouch, with the avocado piled on the side, glued to the paper pouch because the cheese was crooked and the bread was so over toasted it was inedible. My new shirt was ruined by the dripping. We threw most of our breakfast away. Don't waste your time. read more

The best combo, "healthy" food and a quiet place. I love to go their for lunch, and get the two halfs; salad/soup and a sandwitch. I usually add bakery item for a dollar and have it as to-go. I highly suggest getting theor card, because you can get points and rewards if you spend couple of times eating their Nice to study, and clear your brain when you need a rest from your place. During cold weather I recommend getting the Chai Tea Latte. This is my favorite of all time. read more

Drive thru was closed. had to go in store. Got bagel toasted and croissant to go. Got home and bagel wasn't just toasted, it was burned. Croissants are supposed to be flaky but this one had been cooked to the point that the ends were also burnt and it was hard. Could crumble it. I had attended a business meeting nearby and we wanted to find a spot to grab some lunch close to the highway. Panera was it. The service was fast and the lunch met Panera standards. I was pleased to find iced coffee at the beverage bar and it was nice and strong. I can always count on Panera for even quality and good value. read more

As most everyoneknows, the food is always delicious at Panera. I went into the Avon Panera this morning to study a little before I went into class. Was happy with the coffee and bagel I had, but the restaurant itself was a little disheveled. It looked as if no one had been around to wipe the tables or pick up the eating area. Coffee cups and dishes were just sitting out and the tables themselves were dirty. The people behind the counter were friendly enough, nothing out of the ordinary. I have recently started ordering delivery from this location recently. I would say around 2-3 times a week. My order is always correct and the food is awesome. Only slight problem is their delivery tracking. By the time my phone says the order is on the way the delivery guy gas already dropped it off to me. I also can do without the early delivery. When I set my delivery for 9am-9:15 I expect it between those times not 8:45, that defeats the point. read more

By far the worst Panera location I have visited. When we got inside, we waited in a long line well the sole cashier slowly sliced bagels for some large order. When we were able to place our order, the cashier was not listening and repeatedly asked us the same questions. She apparently didn't understand my husbands name, and made up a random name (who does that?). When we opened up our to go order, I found that my Arugula Chicken salad didn't have any chicken in it at all. Lastly, there is currently only one bathroom due to construction. That would be fine, except it was filthy - there was trash all over the floor and it reeked of urine. Usually I enjoy Panera but this location seems to be having issues! read more

I had the Chipotle chicken melt today with an iced tea. It was delicious. I got $1 off my drink with My Panera Rewards. We used the drive thru. It was a tight fit, I think some mirrors would help as you pull up to the window it's hard to see that you don't hit your rims on the curb. I almost always forget to stop at Panera because they are walk in and not a drive thru, and I usually like the convenience in the morning. Let me tell you, this location is worth parking the car and going in. Service outstanding, selection outstanding! If you love fresh bagels and pastries this is a great place to stop for breakfast. Their menu is extensive, but I like to keep it simple with a signature bagel, a nice spread, and a good robust coffee. Each time I've been, I have been in and out within 5 minutes. This is pretty standard panera. The food is always good but I give this location a 3 for the service and cleanliness. This is the closest location to my house so I usually go here a couple of times a month. Every single time, however, I cannot find a clean table. At first I chalked this up to going during busy times. BUT the last time I went was after the lunch rush and before dinner. There were only a few patrons in the restaurant but every table was dirty! The kicker was that there were 6 employees INCLUDING the manager and they were all standing around talking! They definitely don't seem to be short staffed but no one was cleaning! I've also had a lot of trouble with this location forgetting part of my order. The manager is always nice and fixes it herself but it seems to be a repeat problem not being addressed. read more

For some reason they like to only have one person making all the food/drinks and having that one person put out the orders as well, at certain points of the day...not really sure why that's acceptable for one person to be running around doing everything, when another coworker or even a manager could come out and help the poor workers that go through that. As for the food goes, it's overpriced for such a small amount of it and is very bland. Seriously no flavor in anything really, like why is there "chipotle mayo" if all u taste is mayo with a drop of something that's supposed to be the "chipotle" factor? One of the trainees, Sebastian did a fantastic job taking our orders during his first week on the job he was even so kind as to bring another gentlemans food to him during a slow point in our dining experience. My husband and I just got 2 of the Baja Mac and Chz and my husband got the French onion soup delivered. Both of our Baja Mac n cheese had stems in it and what was like little pieces of plastic or really hard pieces of onion not real sure. My husbands french onion soup had no cheese and no bread in it. Today, I placed an online order to be picked up 1 hour later. When I arrived 15 minutes after the scheduled pick up time and already running late they hadn't even started the order. It was for a meeting for 10 people and why I placed it ahead of time with plenty of time. The manager was pretty unapologetic. The solution was get started on it now or cancel the order.
