My last review was 2 stars but let's elevate to 3. The service was the most positive thing, right behind the fact that they do fund raisers for local non-profits. We had a "new" caprese sandwich which was good but could have been warmer to better melt the cheese. The seasonal southwest corn chowder was tasty. We tried the Dubai chocolate cookie, a lil dry. We've Doordashed 11 times from this Panera, always the same thing - 2 Fuji Apple Chicken Salads and one Turkey Bravo sandwich. We never know how much salad chicken we're going to get (usually skimpy) and last night's order was the last straw. For yuks I measured when our order arrived- 1.5 ozs on one, 8/10 of one oz on the other. And as usual, at least a third of the cherry tomatoes were overripe/sour/inedible. We're done with Panera. First time placing an on-line order at the Penfield location. Ordered the Green Goddess Chicken Cobb Salad. Generally a fan of Panera salads. Not sure if it was a factor, but I did not tip and received the worst fastfood salad ever - one strip of chicken, 1/2 hard boiled egg, 1/2 avocado slice, a sparce amount of lettue, and no dressing. It was supposed to be a full portion and looked like less than a half. Checked the no utensils box and got plasticware. Checked the baguette box and received chips instead. Now, to be fair, Panera BREAD no longer makes bread in-house, so it's possible that the weekly bread delivery hadn't arrived, yet. Very disappointing. I'm hoping this was just a one-time incident, but I'm worried that profits and cost cutting are going to impact quality. read more

Yesterday morning I met with friends at this Paneras. We like this place because the food is very good, the atmosphere is great , and the lady who is behind the counter is wonderful. She is engaging and friendly. We sat for over an hour over our breakfast food and coffee chatting as though we were home. This will always be a go to spot for my friends for our catch up time. Don't get me wrong- I love Panera! But this location, while conveniently located just doesn't match the standards that some of the other Panera's I've been to does (Perinton, Webster...). The staffs friendliness is hit-or-miss and the food is subpar. I recently ordered a seasonal Strawberry Salad with Chicken and soup meals with a baguette. The chicken on the salad didn't appear or taste very fresh at all, along with the wilted lettuces and my soup was luke-warm at best. For a little over $14 I would have rather gone somewhere- which is disappointing if you've ever had a prior good experience at Panera before. Convenient location is about all this Panera has to offer- and that it's better then the other two fast food restaurants in the same location. read more

Went to the register and asked about their turkey sandwiches. The guy looked me in the face and walked away. A woman stepped to the register and acknowledged me. When I told her the guy ignored me she said "oh he doesn't work the register." Does that excuse his behavior to a customer? Maybe I'm crazy but the common decency to say "oh I don't take orders, someone will be with you in one moment" wouldn't have cost alot and shouldn't require special training. I've worked in food service and know it's sucks but back of the house should stay in back of the house if they lack very basic communication skills lest they drive customers away with rude behavior. read more

I had a rather negative experience with Katie, the reported Manager at the Penfield, NY location on Mon. 6/21 around 10a. I then called Corporate to provide feedback. First - I say Katie was the "reported" Manager only because I know - from experience - that Customer Support teams in any business may pretend to be Management just to get a complaining customer off of the phone. But this may not be the case in this store. Second - Alice at Corporate's CS (?) department was wonderful. She went through the script she likely had to read but ultimately gave me a credit on the Panera app proper, which was better than the DoorDash code I was trying to use. The reason for my call to the local Panera store...and ultimately to Panera Corporate was as follows: The DoorDash (DD) code I wanted to use (25% off the next 3 orders) forced me to the DD app itself when ordering from Panera. The customizations available on the Panera app are not available on the DD app. Normally I can customize what I can on DD and then call the restaurant location and add notes which staff attach to the order. The DD app only allows "Contact Me" as an option under Special Instructions. Katie (Penfield manager) flat out refused to take any notes to attach to my order, as "they get busy and the notes could be missed." She refused multiple times as I pushed the issue. While certainly it is true that the notes could possibly be missed, that was not an appropriate response nor a customer-centric one representing the brand well. I've been able to manage the DD app limitations with calls to other restaurants with no issue prior. Clearly this is a "Katie" issue - not a DD app issue. In short - she was a poor representation of Panera and the Penfield, NY location. Perhaps she was simply having a bad day. We all have them. But she - and you - can do better. Perhaps this is a coaching opportunity; a reminder of sorts of how integral she is to the overall customer experience? Which is EVERYTHING in your industry! Still love you. And still ordered from the store using the credit obtained from Corporate. No harm/no foul. But fix the people-issue. Other reviews hint at a larger problem....... read more

Stopped by this location for quick snack today and I was very disappointed. Now I always love the idea of Panera, but at least half the time I feel like I've just been totally ripped off. That would definitely be the case today. I ordered two bagels with a light amount of cream cheese on each and an iced coffee with cream and sugar. I received one bagel, one weird flat thing and two cups of cream cheese. If I'm paying you $3 for a bagel I think you can put the cream cheese on it, this is completely unacceptable. Bruegger's puts their cream cheese on their bagels and so does Tim Hortons. Why on Earth does the super overpriced \ super trendy place not do it? It's just a rip off. My iced coffee mostly resembles coffee flavored water. In a large 20 some ounce beverage the "barista" put one packet of sugar which she did not stir into the drink at all and a splash of milk, not the cream I ordered. When McDonald's can make a better product for half the price you know that you have a failing restaurant. All in all, it was a very negative experience from the time it took which was approximately 10 minutes, to the sub-par standards, to the poor products, to the poor service, to the order not being correct. Pretty big fan of this Panera. I often need a break from my home office, and find sitting here to be really comfortable and productive. Unlike other sites, the staff do not shout to one another over the sound of the kitchen, and the music is kept to a regular volume. There's a fireplace, though I never see it on, and they've been doing a nice job keeping to COVID protocol. Would highly recommend, if they'd keep the interior a couple of degrees warmer. read more

I stopped in for a quick lunch at the Penfield location and ordered a soup and half salad. The restaurant wasn't particularly full during my visit and the service was relatively quick. The thing that I didn't love was that everyone working there seemed super frustrated with the folks in the food delivery window sometimes shouting. The most troublesome was that the restaurant wasn't particularly clean. The tables and the floors were both a bit dirty. Also, totally unrelated to the business itself, there was a guy definitely running a scam in the booth next to me who literally backed up appointments in the Panera booth to scam the elderly- it was uncomfortable. From a food perspective, I enjoyed the soup which was a very tasty squash bisque. The half Cesar salad was a bit lack luster with some chunks of inedible lettuce. It would have taken an extra two second to dig out the funky bits and make for a much better salad. I'll be back for the soup for sure, and will definitely consider take out on my next visit! read more

Totally unacceptable!!! I take a 15 minute drive in the freezing cold to get bagels and there is a sign on the door that they are not opening until 11 AM. Many others were coming and leaving while I was there. The website said they were open when I looked to see when I should go. This post is just so I can rave about Paneras Catering! My daughter graduated from high school during Covid-19. This made graduation parties difficult! In order to stay safe I held three separate parties, in one day, so we could safely social distance. I needed individually wrapped food as well!!! Nothing seemed easy... HOWEVER- Paneras to the rescue!!!! They were amazing- not only did the individually wrap each half sandwich, each salad serving, and every cookie- they drove to my house THREE TIMES to keep the food fresh! It was an AMAZING job and they brought everything I needed- silverware, napkins, condiment packets... They made this event so easy and helped make a stressful time enjoyable. read more

I've got to give this location props. My mom sent me her "you get a free bagel every day this week" email and since this location is right near where I had a doctor appointment this morning, I thought it would be a good idea. Of course, the free bagel is just the bagel (not the toasted with cream cheese part), but they don't have to do anything (especially during this time) and $1.40 (plus tip and tax) for a convenient, delicious breakfast isn't bad. I submitted the order a half hour before my appointment and drove over. I wasn't sure if I should go through the drive thru, so I went to the Rapid Pick-Up parking spaces, where another car was parked. Shortly after, an associate came out and asked me if the bag she was holding was mine. It wasn't, I told her my name, and she went back in. Three different associates came out five times in the span of 15 minutes, I told all of them my name (I wasn't asked), and none of them came out with my food. I tried calling twice, but the phone message is LONG (press 5!) and I had to go. I finally got through to someone (I think his name was Tom), explained the situation (he confirmed my food was ready), and asked if I could come back after my appointment. He apologized and said sure. When I was leaving my appointment, I called and a different associate answered but said it would be ready when I was there. Someone came out quickly (holding another person's bag, too - maybe they should ask for license plates or something so they make sure food goes to the right person?) and the bag contained my bagel (still warm!), cream cheese, and two cookies. AND my mom said they refunded the order as well. Above and beyond. I will be back (with less of a time crunch) this week and will tip double this time! read more

My family eats at Panera pretty frequently and have never had a bad experience until we visited this location. My wife and I order the bacon turkey bravo just about every time we go. We were out of town and this was the first visit to this location but we were expecting it to taste the same as it always does back home. We each took one bite and couldn't believe how salty it was. We took the bread off for a moment and there was so much salt and pepper on the sandwich that the salt was easily visible. Not sure why the chef added so much salt and pepper. If we didn't go through the drive through on our way home we would have definitely went in to complain. Will never be going to this location again. read more

i never really was the biggest fan of panera but i was really sick and bed ridden this past week with a misdiagnosed throat infection and all i could eat was warm liquids. i got a $50 gift card for my birthday that came into great use as the delivery was only $1 and was always on time and worth it. and i was able to order it twice. panera was the only thing i could eat and kept me alive and comfortable when i needed it with actual good tasting food too. i am on meds now and doing much better and the smoothies have really helped boost my immune system. thank you panera! read more

Overall a very pleasant panera lunch experience here! The food is consistent, hot, and delicious as always - I LOVE the autumn squash soup that is here for fall! Definitely one of my panera all-time faves. This location is very clean and the people working were particularly pleasant. I can't say I have had an unpleasant service experience at panera, but everyone here was very nice. They also have outdoor seating which is a bonus My one note is that it gets very busy at lunchtime, and as a result there seems to be quite a lot of yelling behind the counter and where the food is being prepared. Not so much in the kitchen, but actually in the front of the house and where order pick up is, which seems inappropriate. Otherwise we had a great lunch and I'd definitely return! read more

Overall, pretty good, but I had one experience which has left me disappointed. I contacted customer service about it and only received a generic response. They don't care. I had a large order, close to $100, and my Panera Card would not work for some reason. So, the cashier ran her card through and took the credit. When I called her out on it she said that she was just checking to see if she had anything free on her card that she could give me but she didn't. She couldn't reverse her order and I didn't have the time to wait for her to reenter the entire order. Her card was conveniently right next to the register. How often is she doing this? read more

BUT - if there is a long line, they have these kiosks where you can order and your food takes minutes afterwards! Very nice service. The problem is the pastry. Sure isn't the European quality more like Fastrac. I really don't know how to describe the dough; more like a sweet dry bread. Been eating at this location for some time now. Always good value and good food. Recently while checking out, I was asked to read the message on the card swipe. It asked if I'd like to leave a tip? This seems pretty tacky , I walk up and place the order, pay, get my beverage, sit, get up when my led unit tells me my meals ready, I eat it, I throw my trash away. I'm missing the service for a tip? I feel I should be tipped for all my efforts. Since minimum wage has gone up two times, eating out is getting more creative with tipping ideas. read more
