What in the world happened to this place. I lived in Montclair for 20 years and it was a go to place for us. Stopped in recently and had a few slices and it was brutal. If I had continued to try eat the crust I have no doubt I would have broken multiple teeth. Pizza was thin and almost tasteless. Very little cheese. The crust was hard as a rock. Pizza felt like it could have been made 3 days ago and left out. Won't be making a stop there again. Avoid. read more

My order was pretty tasty all told - after I had to rehear it all. The calamari was pretty good and the garlic knots were quite tasty. However I found their pizza to be lacking - and I don't think it was just from the total lack or communication between their delivery person and I, which meant I only realized food was delivered well after the delivery window had expired and it had been waiting for who knows how long outside my door because the driver couldn't follow basic instructions to call/text/knock in order to announce themselves. That one portion of the meal and the general delivery issues aside however, I found that my order was satisfactory at least. read more

What?! I am so shocked by the negative reviews. My kids and I have been going to this place for years. We absolutely love it. The service is always great and the hardworking owners are extremely nice and accommodating. We've tried many pizza places in the area but this one is definitely our favorite. Great coming back to Montclair and enjoying my favorites from when I was growing up here. And Panzano's on Walnut Street hits it right on the mark! Awesome selection of pizzas, sandwiches, entrees, and appetizers. We finished ice skating around the corner at Clary Anderson's arena, and came right to Panzano's for a variety of pizza slices: cheesesteak pizza, BBQ Chicken, chicken bacon ranch, penne vodka pizza, grandmas and a regular. I needed to test a new pizza place, so I had them deliver a large pie (half pep, half plain). I thought the pizza was not that great. I've had SO much better. Also the house salad sucked too. The olives tasted funky...gross. The dressing was just balsamic vinegar. The only reason why I'm not giving them 1 star is the delivery service was prompt and the lady working (phone call) was very pleasant. read more

Eaten Panzano a couple of times and I can't find any complaints. Got a couple slices the first time around, they were both pretty good. However, the star of the show was the panini I ordered last night. The filling of chicken cutlet, vodka sauce, and melted mozzarella was delicious, but the bread brought it all together. This isn't normal bread that the sandwich was on. This was some kind of awesome pizza dough hybrid bread that mad for a wonderful crunchy crust on both sides. We also got some fries delivered, and despite being stuck in a fully closed container (poke some holes in there to let that steam out) they remained somewhat crispy with a nice cornmeal crust. Panzano is a no frills type of place that puts some obvious thought into their dishes. read more

This a young business. I don't just mean that it's only been around a short time, but also that it is owned an operated by a young family. Just walking in, it's obvious that they want to be the old, established neighbourhood eatery that everyone talks about being made to feel welcomed and happy. And frankly, their friendly and warm customer service and treating everyone like a regular is what truly will get them there. The pizza's are decent; nice thin crust, nice balance of sauce and cheese, and not too stingy with the toppings. They are made quickly and with consistent quality. The dinner entrees are likewise consistent and well made. The sauce, for my particular taste is a bit on the sweet side, but still is tasty. Portions are generous. It can't be said enough, though, that what really makes Panzano's is how they treat their guests - like everyone is an old pal or a respected friend of the family. The atmosphere is light and friendly, and the camaraderie between the staff carries over easily to their diners. Throw a rock in any direction in Montclair and you'll hit either a pizzeria or a Chinese take-out, most of them just so-so. But Panzano's stands out as a place that has every chance of being an generational business that people come back to time and again. read more

Great restaurant!! My husband and I order/eat there about once a week since July 2012, and have never been disappointed. The two brothers who own this place are super friendly and excellent cooks. The pasta and sandwiches are all great every time, and their pizza is fantastic, and i love their garlic knots!!! They are very generous and sometimes give extra portions, and during Hurricane Sandy (our area lost power for 2 weeks) they were open the whole time and helping feed everybody who had no power. read more

Panzano's has been a family favorite since we moved to Montclair 5 years ago. The pizza is always delicious, and I always order their house salad with grilled chicken. It's a generous portion and fresh! I do wish they ventured out into more gourmet salads, as their surrounding competitors have, but I always come back to Panzano's for their amazing customer service. I can't speak for the food quality or the service here. I tried to order through Seamless earlier today and was then called by Grubhub 15 minutes later alerting me to the fact that the restaurant needed to cancel my order because I was far outside the delivery radius. I went back to double check the page on Seamless as well as the restaurant's website and they say nothing about delivery radius. I live about 5 miles away from the restaurant. I think it's poor form not to say anywhere with the delivery requirements are and then cancel. The restaurant would've had my information through Seamless, the least they could've done was cancel with me persinally. read more

I am really surprised by so many negative reviews. We have been ordering from here for the past 4 years and always love their pizza. I can't speak to other food they serve but I personally think it's the best takeout pizza around. The crust is nice and thin, the ratio of the sauce and cheese is perfect. The steak slice(may have been called the philly steak slice) was RIGHTEOUS it RULES. They top the slice with fries. Not bland French fries. French fries with a bit of a chicken flavor. After 90 minutes (delivery was supposed to be in 60) I called and was told the website had JUST THEN sent them a notification of the order. Well, the kids were hungry NOW so I had to cancel and make another choice. We were all dissapointed. Panzano should get your business, but the online ordering portal should be avoided. This place is SO disrespectful and rude! Every time I call to place an order for delivery the employee who answers (usually a young girl) is extremely rude. I live in Nutley and my house is exactly 3.5 miles away from Panzano's...a year ago I called to ask if they delivered to Nutley and the guy said 'yes!'. The food came and I enjoyed their pizza and wings a lot! The food is great here and their wings are spicy and crispy! For a year now I would get food delivered but EVERYTIME that young RUDE girl would answer my order was always messed up. I called tonight to place my order and the same young RUDE girl answered and said 'yea we don't deliver to Nutley' and I told her that they have for a year and she said 'no we don't deliver there'. I'm somewhat confused? Why for an entire year has this business who claims to have 'family friendly service' all of a sudden stops delivering food to neighboring towns? Again....I live 3.5 miles away. I am disgusted that a business treats their customers this way! Christopher and Jonathan- you own a restaurant that serves people great food! It's just a shame that you are willing to lose customers because you have a disrespectful employee who has no consideration about treating customers with 'family friendly service' that you claim Panzano's is. Hands down my favorite pizzeria in Montclair . I love this place, the decor is amazing and the food is delicious, from specialty slices to your favorite Italian dishes , just like mom use to make! I eat here at least three times a week and will not go to any other place in Montclair , that guy spencer is full of it, my advice is to go there and try it for yourself! The staff is very friendly and accommodating , and the pricing is just right. I would recommend the grandma pizza, but it's all delicious! read more
