Papa Urb's was on my to-do list and I had to get it done! After visiting a relative in Stockton, my cousin and I decide to head to Papa Urb's for a late dinner before heading back to the East Bay. When we arrived, the restaurant wasn't busy for a Saturday night before an hour closing. With the help of of the Yelp app, I was able to distinguish what I wanted to order. We decided to order the following items: - Adobo Quesadilla - Longanisa Wrap - Sisig Fries All the items we ordered were very delicious and reasonably priced. The sisig fries were crispy and not soggy. The meats were savory and tender. The cabbage, tomatoes, and onions were fresh. I enjoyed the Adobo Quesadilla. Filipino fusion food at it's best. I had this years ago, and wanted to retry it to see if it was as good as I remember. Spoilers, IT DEFINITELY WAS. I ordered to go and gave them the time I would be arriving, and they had it ready by the time I was there! The cashier was really friendly and made great conversation which is always a plus! Adobo Quesadilla: WOW, I loved this so much! They cut the quesadilla into strips which makes it easy to dip into their sauce, and DONT get me started about how good that sauce is. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. First time having it, and I do enjoy quesadillas a lot so I'd highly recommend. Great mixture of cheese and meat and is proportioned our well! Came here to get takeout a few weeks back. It's tiny little place near the freeway 205, located in the same parking lot as IN & Out & Starbucks. We ordered sisig fries which were excellent, pancit, a adobo quesadilla, lumpia shanghai, and the pork belly. All items were really good. They have their own green sauce they put with most of the items, probably some type of cilantro or avocado ranch, it's really tasty. Most of the items come with rice standard, and a couple came with a tasty little salad I just put the green ranch on and ate up. I will be back for more takeout for sure. When these guys get more popular they need to expand and get a bigger place so their in house dining will expand. read more

Service is ok we ordered to go. I'm not sure about the food. It's not quite the Filipino food I'm expecting. It doesn't taste the same Filipino food you know and tasted from the Philippines. It doesn't look freshly cooked. If you have time and craving Filipino food I think what you make will taste the same as theirs or better if you're good at cooking. The place is kinda dark inside. Maybe because of the lighting and the interior color. If I'm craving Filipino food I might just go to Union City, San Bruno or San Mateo. They have a lot of Filipino restaurants on those cities. 8 mo pregnant, craving turon. Decided to call since yelp said they have turon.. paid a visit, ordered turon and banana qt and beef/veg lumpia. I almost settled for Thai fried bananas somewhere but glad I came here. Photo doesn't do it justice since I tore it up hella fast but if gotta say, this did not disappoint. Banana was lightly fried in batter, and came with scoop of Ube and mango(?) ice cream. Love that it wasn't too sweet. Same with the turon, nice, crispy, not too sweet. Craving has been satisfied as far as the beef/veg lumpia, nicely fried but it lacked the beef, it was mostly your frozen veggie medley filling. Other than that, I will be back for dessert read more

This place in a nutshell is freakin fantastic! It's so good I love it. Whenever I went back to college in Merced or went back home, this place would be a stop I would go to if I wanted Filipino food on the way there. It's a very very small shop so you can assume its a family-oriented base restaurant. Seating is also very limited in there as well. Parking in there might be a little tight, just cause the place is essentially right next to In-n-Out as well. And an all time must have for sure is their Sisig Fries! It's honestly the best thing and the most popular dish to get if you're ever around this area in Tracy. The fries generally taste like regular fries, but in the combination of their charbroiled pork, in-house aioli, lemon, cilantro, onions, and crispy sweet potato chips, it felt like such a well-orchestrated platter that worked so well together. Their rice dishes are also on point as well! Their BBQ pork was really good, but their B-steak in my opinion was a little salty and you really need the rice to balance that out or it might be quite overpowering. Overall, this place is highly recommended... and I really really recommend it!! When I come back, I definitely want to try out their Halo-Halo in the future as well. Did somebody say Sisig? Oh yeah, you know I'm there! Papa Urb's has the BEST Sisig ever! I've been looking far and wide to find a place that is comparable in the bay area, but unfortunately I have not succeeded. I used to come here weekly when I worked in Tracy because it was just so addicting! Their pork is juicy and marinated with green onions, siracha sauce, and spices that will make your mouth melt. They also have some yummy crispy lumpia that tastes wonderful with their spicy sweet and sour sauce. If you go, you NEED to get the Sisig fries! They will give you a massive portion that will be filling all by its' self. You could probably split it between two people if you'd like and still be satisfied. The parking is just a disaster here... between the In-n-out burger and the Starbucks, you'll be lucky to even get into this parking lot at times. To top it off, Papa Urb's always has a revolving line around lunch time and right around 5ish when people are getting off of work. The inside is super small with less than 10 tables inside, and I think I've only ever been able to actually sit at a table one time since I've been there. This is more of a get your food and go type of place unless you come during their slower hours. There is also a location in Stockton that is more roomy and less popular if you don't mind driving a little further. If you're looking for some awesome Sisig and are in the Stockton/Tracy area, you DEF need to hit up Papa Urb's! Popped in here while we were in the area based on the rave reviews . We ordered 3 things and this how I'd rate them from fave to least fave: 1) Tocino Sliders $7 - tocino w/ cabbage together in a Filipino roll . You get two sliders. Very good and surprisingly this was our fave. 2) Adobo Quesadilla $7 - Flour tortilla stuffed w/ cheese, chicken adobo, tomatoes, & onions & topped w/ Urb sauce. While this was good it wasn't the amazing revelation that I was hoping that it would be since I'm a big fan of Chicken Adobo in general and can eat Adobo sauce over white rice any day of the week and call it a meal. 3) Sisig Tacos $6.50 - Sisig, cabbage, tomatoes, & jalapeno in corn tortillas & drizzled w/ Urb sauce. Two tacos are served. This was our odds on favorite to be our most favorite dish but I'm sad to report it was the only dish of the 3 that we would not order again. Which is why kids it pays to hedge your bets and order multiple things at most restaurants. Why disappointment? I've had sisig tacos at restaurants and pop-up stands that were much more flavorful than the ones sold here. Not terrible, but definitely not as good as the other two dishes. Swung by after dropping my brother and friend off at Stockton Airport. I've had the food at the Stockton location before so I decided to try this location as I was on my way back to Milpitas. I had the Calamansi juice, Kare Kare, and sisig fries. The juice was really good and just the right amount of sweetness. The sisig fries were decent but nothing memorable. Flavor was a little bland sometimes. Kare Kare is one of my favorite dishes so I was really looking forward to it. The amount of rice served was pretty good for the dish but the kare kare itself was a little too soupy. I like kare kare that's a little thicker broth and more peanut buttery, but that could just be my preference. The meat was also not as tender in some parts. The food never disappoints! I found this on a whim driving through the area looking for something other than fast food. We don't live close, but when we're on the road passing by during business hours we stop! We've been here close to 10 times now & always get lumpia, fries, a sandwich, tacos & occasionally try a different app or something. Only ordered plates a couple times, like I said, because we're picking up & usually not trying to stop & sit in to eat. But they were delicious too! Service has always been good, friendly and the place is small but always clean. I try to grab the ube bread if they have it & the mango ring was super yummy too! Popular for sisig fries. I got the sinigang instead. Broth tasted homemade. Traditionally made w/tamarind. Slightly sour which compliments the fat in the pork rib. Very well composed for fast food. Beats an in n out burger. Sinigang had fresh cabbage, green beans and tomato. The sour is layered between the tamarind and tomato. Very delicate. not like sour from lemon or vinegar. Just a simple order today. We got 2x lumpia, pancit, sisig, and halo halo. The service was decent but the wait time was ok. The sisig tasted good and wasn't too salty same goes for the pancit. Unfortunately my lumpia only contained 8 pieces but I ordered 2x so it should've been 12 pieces. Otherwise the pork lumpia tasted great with their green sauce. The halo halo could've had more toppings at the bottom, it was mostly the shaved ice, but it was also not too sweet and just right. I rate the food 4 stars. I do not like the ambience. From a customer's perspective, it's hard to find Papa Urb's if the customer is outside the store. When at inside, the ambience is off. Well whaddayaknow, Tracy does have some great non chain restaurants! It took me almost 2 years to finally come here but now that I have it's becoming a regular spot to get some great food. Keeping this short and sweet.. The restaurant is on the small side but there is some extra seating out the back, not a huge amount so expect to have to wait for a table if you come at the weekend. I made it point to stop in Papa Urb's a few days ago and I'm really glad I did. The place is located in a tiny strip mall to the west of In & Out Burger. It's small, only about four tables to seat maybe twelve folks. So don't go and invite all your football or baseball buddies to lunch or dinner. The food here is INCREDIBLE. They don't have the typical Filipino dishes you would except at a Filipino restaurant, but what they do have makes up for what they don't. I tried both of their Lumpia's and also tried their Taco's. Now, I'm normally not a huge fan of the big Lumpia's (peas, carrots, etc.) but after trying Papa Urb's, I'm a fan now. As for their Taco's. They were loaded with cabbage, a really good and well seasoned beef and a light garlic sauce that really brought out the flavors of everything then blended them all together. The place is a a bit on the pricey side but since I think the folks here at Papa Urb's are onto something great, I'm willing to pay a bit more. This place combined with M & J Bistro and I can honestly say, the city of Tracy has moved up a few notches on the ritzy scale when it comes to fine dinning in this small town city. I also read one of the reviews where the Chef was called out for being compassionate and really caring about his food and it's preparation. Well I'm here to tell you It's all true. He really loves his food and even with putting his food in to-go boxes, his loves shines though. Came here because of a friend's recommendation and I recall the first time I had the SISIG FRIES they were really good, this time not so much. They lacked in flavor and barely had enough sisig topping and sauce. Once you get past the first layer of fries the rest are completely regular, no SISIG, no sauce, no nothing. They ask you if you want extra and of course they charge you extra for it. TURRON was a HUGE disappointment. Very greasy to the point where it caused the outside shell to be soft. Lechon kaweli dinner plate ($8): definitely enjoyed it! I love Lechon, especially with the mang tomas sauce, mmmm. Only thing about this dish is that you feel like you're mostly eating fat. This place has been bookmarked for a while I'm glad to finally try it . Ordered Shanghai lumpia's and sisig fries . The lumpia's were to die for! Loved them and the sauce it came with. Fries were just ok . My daughter hated them . They are different tasting. Wouldn't order them again. Price are kind of high . Payed over $15 for 1 soda 1 order of fries and 8 lumpia's. But now I know that I want to make it a pit stop everytime we head down to the Bay Area! Their menu is simple...and for those that aren't familiar with Filipino food, there are descriptions underneath the names! Their first menu board is for authentic Filipino food...lechon, sinigang, dinuguan. The next board is for rice plates... adobo, tocino, pork belly, etc, and something "different" including a sisig tostada, tocino wrap, and noodles. These plates come with salad, fried egg, and rice. The next board is for appetizers...YUM! I want to try all of them, they all seem popular here from all the reviews I've read. And finally, they have lots of dessert and drink options!! Turon, halo-halo, mango or calamansi juice... I could come here everyday.. For my first visit, I went for the sisig fries (obviously! You can't come to Papa Urb's Yelp page without reading sisig fries at least 100 times) and tocino sliders. We planned to stop at multiple places throughout the day and wanted to share something small. But turns out the portion of sisig fries is huge! We took home leftovers. The sliders were perfect, one for each of us. I love that the fries are still a little bit crunchy when they come out. Most specialty fries are soggy (which I don't mind either) after all the toppings are put on. I guess my only complaint would be to put more sauce over the fries but who cares...it was still good. The sliders weren't dry at all. It was basically tocino, Hawaiian bread, and what looks like the mixed lettuce from the bags you can buy at a grocery store. Most of it falls out when you start eating your sandwich but oh well, I'm here for the tocino, not lettuce.
