    Moldy bananas
    Ashley G.

No no no and NO. Mold on the vegetables. The bananas and tumeric had mold, the onions smelled really off too. Not sure of the turn around on the products if there was mold on that stuff. It didnt have the fishy smell of a typical asian market either, just a dank smell. Also not much groceries, mostly snacks and sauces.Go to Hmart, or the Filipino store instead. The cashier was friendly though.

My husband gets C2 (Basil Chicken) every time. This time he said he could have drunk the leftover broth. Well, he got the chance when he ordered a C2 to go! LOL! I ordered the chili lamb for my to go order and it was unbelievably delicious and seasoned perfectly. This restaurant is absolutely spic and span EVERY time we are here. Clean throughout and clean restrooms. This is a family owned restaurant and whoever takes your order is probably one of the owner's children. Such neat people and a dining experience.

We noticed on the Yelp! map that there was a Burmese restaurant that we have never tried. We love Burmese food and thought, why not? What a gem of a place this was! From the moment we walked in to this immaculately clean restaurant, we had a feeling we had made a good choice. I ordered the Kyay Oh stew with pork meatballs and offal because I wanted something really authentic. My husband ordered beef flat noodles with added veggie stir fry. I have to say, my soup was so clean and fresh tasting. I took a gamble because not everyone can prepare the offal without an off flavor or scent. The flavor of this soup is something I will never forget and I loved the greens and quail eggs as well. My husband's noodle dish had an incredible flavor without being too heavily dressed or seasoned. Our waiter was very helpful in answering our questions. He was very friendly. I would love to return to this restaurant and try some more of the authentic Burmese items.

I could not recommend this place enough.

While the bahn mi isn't exactly traditional, it is still very good -- I'd highly suggest getting it with the pate. The sampler appetizer has a little bit of everything and is great for sharing. Pineapple fried rice was delicious. Pad Thai also great! If you're a spicy eater like me, just go for very spicy. They have 4 spice levels (mild, medium, spicy, very spicy) and this is a reminder to myself to get very spicy next time. Thanks for the delicious meals!

Malai Kitchen in Clearfork is a welcome detour from a shopping afternoon, Thai and Vietnamese…read morecuisine in a bright, airy space that makes you want to settle in for longer than your credit card probably intended. A quick note on seating: the patio is lovely in theory, with the optional open windows and a breezy feel, but the chairs are not winning any comfort awards. Inside booths are the move. Also worth noting, this is Fort Worth, and once the thermometer hits triple digits, the patio conversation ends itself if the windows are open. Plan accordingly. Malai starts every table with steamed sticky rice and an eggplant dip, which is a charming little ritual and a genuinely good one. We also kicked things off with the Edamame, a heads up on the heat level there, and the Fried Imperial Rolls, filled with ground pork and shrimp and served with a sesame soy sauce. Fair warning: these do not photograph well and arrive at the table looking a little shy. Don't be fooled. They're flavorful, subtly spicy, and well worth ordering. For entrees, we tried the Basil Vegetable Fried Rice two ways, one vegan and one with chicken. The vegan version was a genuine surprise, with vegetables cooked just right and a flavor that didn't need the chicken to make its case. The mushrooms, however, had the texture of something you'd find in a hardware store. Chew at your own risk. The Green Curry, meanwhile, was a case of too much of a good thing. The curry was so heavy-handed it drowned everything underneath it. Sometimes restraint is a virtue. Save room for the Banana Pot de Crème. It's creamy, subtly sweet, and a graceful finish to the meal. The service at Malai is enthusiastic, and I do mean enthusiastic. The staff works as a team, all smiles, attentive, always nearby. Occasionally a little too nearby. More than once a plate nearly disappeared before we were done with it. It's a small complaint, and honestly a far better problem than the alternative. They're warm, cheerful, and clearly enjoy what they do, which goes a long way. Portions are generous, so order a few dishes and share the wealth. For a lunch stop between shops, Malai Kitchen punches well above its weight.

You can tell they brew it and it doesn't come from a syrup. When I sat down, I was instantly greeted, and there were like four different people serving my table, I think that they all work as a team to make sure everything is covered. The service was just amazing. Restaurant is beautiful, the booths were , small and intimate and you feeling that you in place with privacy and yet part of the group ....kind of interesting how they've done that. But the food! The food was outstanding, first they gave me a complementary appetizer of Jasmine sticky rice with this eggplant chutney, that was very tasty, a teeny bit spicy, but really good depth with flavor. Then my beef Samosas arrived. There were four, wrapped in like a triangle rapper, smaller than the Indian version of the same, and the flavor was very tasty, and corn and small chopped potatoes, yum! The two chutneys that came with it one was a cool cucumber, and the other was this sweet and spicy plum sauce. They made samosas!!! They could be soft and cool, or they could be delicious and spicy, depending on chutney you had them with and you had a third option.... There was a bed of pickled radish and carrot that really sit off the samosas as well and we're just delicious on their own. I devoured the entire thing. Then get the entrée. I had drunken noodles and I added the shredded pork... It was devastatingly tasty!!! the noodles were obviously done it a wok that's been seasoned to perfection. The wide noodles picked up all that deliciousness from the wok and then combined with the pork... heaven ! They had large pieces of bell pepper and tomatoes. very fresh onions... Just deliciousness. I was too full this time to get dessert, but I'm definitely coming back and I will definitely try it next time
