Stopped in for lunch. My set up had a dirty knife and no napkin. I thought I would order huevos rancheros which is a pretty basic brunch item at a Mexican restaurant. The restaurant had three other tables with customers. So why were my eggs not hot? The bean puree was tepid as was the ranchera sauce. This was disappointing. When I pointed it out to the gentleman who took my credit card, he just shrugged his shoulders. I don't think he had much English.

Papito's is a fun and beautifully decorated Mexican restaurant in Potrero Hill that gives you free chips and salsa and features a happy hour menu on weekdays 4-6! Highly recommend the Costilla Cortas Tacos. These are short-rib tacos that are super flavorful, soft, and well-marinated. These tacos are pricey for the size, but they do not skimp on the filling. You can mix and match taco flavors in one order. Service was attentive! Would love to swing by again for happy hour and to try their sangria.

Excellent burrito. Tried their super burrito with fried chicken. Staff was super chill and location is nice especially on a sunny day in Potrero Hill. The chicken maintained a crisp texture even after driving home 15 minutes later and the rice and beans had tons of flavor. I'd imagine eating it here would only elevate it more since they toast their tortilla pretty nicely. Definitely one of the top burritos I've had in SF.

Stopped by with coworkers for lunch. Seated quickly by our friendly server. Interior is decorated in a lively style. We ordered the tortas, quesadillas, and mole. Menu seemed psych til we saw our large serving sizes. Food was pretty tasty. Only negative was some dirty silverware for one of my coworkers. We'll be back!

If you want a plate full of fresh, high quality food, come here! I ordered carne asada enchiladas with red sauce. The pico de gallo was crunchy and fresh, the red sauce just right spicy, beans were well seasoned and the rice was fluffy and chewy at the same time. I enjoyed every bite. We sat inside because it was a bit windy and chilly but the outdoor seating looked equally comfy if you prefer fresh air dining. The service was excellent. We went around 2:30 which is an odd time for lunch but there were plenty of people in the restaurant at that time.

Came by Papito for an early and quick dinner to try their tacos. Party of 1. Walked in, got a seat right away outside on their lovely parklet. Tacos come in orders of two on either crispy or soft tortilla. All served with sour cream. Chips and three salsas also come to the table automatically. I really liked the orange salsa that had a bit of a sweeter flavor. Papitto taco - tempura shrimp, chipotle remoulade, green cabbage slaw, pico de gallo. It was hot out and this sounded like a more refreshing taco. Before the tacos came out, i was questioning the price a little bit as each taco was $8. That's a lot for a taco in my opinion. Once they came out though, I knew why. Tacos were STACKED! Like to the point I couldn't even pick it up without thing falling off. Each taco had three juicy shrimps so 6 shrimps total. Flavors on point. Shrimp was tempura fried well and slaw was crispy for that added bite. The only thing I wasn't a fan of, actually, was the size. It seemed too big and made a huge mess all over the plate that I had to go back in and eat with a fork. Delicious taco that I think could be brought down to 3 manageable sized tacos with 2 shrimps each.

One of my favorite Potrero Hill restaurants. Easy outdoor seating to take a noisy kid and food that makes everyone happy! My kid loves the fried fish tacos. We often ask for a a flour tortilla on the side too.. I personally am a sucker for their sauced up burrito. One of the better options in the city!

This place is awesome. It has one of the (imo) definitive burritos in SF, which comes out wrapped 3-ply with aluminum foil on a ceramic plate. I don't why, but it just screams SF hidden gem vibes. The place is typically very busy and for good reason: their options are vast, their fajitas hot n' steamy, and the burritos bigger than your forearm. I usually stick with steak for my meat of choice, but I also appreciate the short-rib option, as well as duck and some other lesser-seen meats in mexican cuisine. Will update this after a few more visits, but I think this stands nicely at 4.5 stars!

The steak was unbelievably tender and not chewy at all. The chimichurri added a great burst of flavor. The yuccas were super crispy, and the asparagus was perfectly seasoned. We sat at the bar, and our bartender was very friendly and attentive. The place has a vibrant atmosphere, and they play great music.

What a beautiful Mexican eatery... walls decorated with Frida Kahlo and lovely wall pictures. Went for an early dinner ordered vegetable quesadillas and wet burritos alongside house guacamole served with chips and salsa. It tasted delicious. Their habanero sauce is fire . On special request to the server the vegetables were grilled away from meat ( since it wasn't busy hour) which i think should be considered to avoid any cross contamination. Highly recommended:)

Food is always yummy. I tend to get the crunchy shrimp tacos as they are really good. You have to eat the crunchy tacos right away as taking them to-go will make them soggy. Overall the tacos are great but a little on the pricey side. The orange salsa is my favorite.

I'm always hunting for spots like this because I have a weakness for those over-the-top, Instagram-worthy desserts that look like diabetes in a dish. Like most places in this genre, A Buttercup is small, modern, and minimalist with limited seating. If you plan to go, aim for off-hours unless you enjoy waiting in line for sugar. The decor is cute and trendy, perfect for photos if that's part of your dessert ritual. As they say, "you eat with your eyes first," and when it comes to presentation, this place definitely gets an A+. The desserts look stunning and set high expectations. Unfortunately, that's where things started to crumble. It's like going to see your favorite artist live. You've watched the videos, memorized the songs, and paid for the experience. But instead of the electric performance you imagined, you get someone lip-syncing and barely connecting with the crowd. That was this place in dessert form. We ordered the Mango Bingsoo on our first visit, and when it arrived, we were surprised by how small the portion was. The guy next to us even looked over and said, "Whatever that is, I'm getting that next time." He shouldn't have. The Bingsoo looked great but was bland, and the "snow" was more chunky ice than soft shave. The Thai Tea Roti was also not what I expected. It came with Thai tea ice cream and sauce alongside a roti that was fried to a crunch. Interesting idea, just not the best execution. The sauce and ice cream needed a stronger Thai tea flavor to balance the crispy roti, and the flavors never quite came together. Overall, A Buttercup nails the aesthetics but misses the flavor. If you're here for the photos, you'll be happy. If you're here for the taste, you'll leave with a full camera roll and an unsatisfied sweet tooth.

The store is larger than it looks with some seating along the sides and back. I opted a small cup of the lychee black tea and auntie Kendra's garden. The lychee black tea was INCREDIBLE, strong, strong tea and fruit flavor, perfectly creamy, and not too sweet. The more memorable of the two, however, was definitely Auntie Kendra. It was a vanilla base with salty plum juice, passion fruit, and preserved lemon peel. The delicate vanilla, the lemon aroma without the sour tang, the floral, exotic passion fruit, and the unexpected punch of salt and earthiness from the plum juice, this is a WHOPPER of a flavor. Every bite allowed me a new appreciation of the layers of flavors in this scoop. While a bit pricy, Garden creamery is on par with the other local ice cream spots in SF and well, the flavors and my enjoyment of them speak for themselves. I will definitely be making more trips out here to try their other flavors!
