We had a very young and inexperienced server, who was a nice kid, but not knowledgeable. I ordered grilled red snapper with jumbo lump crab, lemon herb butter, toasted almonds, sautéed spinach and was given seared redfish with jumbo lump crab, toasted chile harissa sauce, sautéed spinach. I can see the confusion, but I'm allergic to both cilantro and paprika (coriander seeds are cilantro) and I don't eat spicy food. Plus, I just REALLY wanted that red snapper dish!! My husband ordered trout and shrimp with truffle potatoes. The server didn't offer to fix my order and said that they had menu changed recently regarding the harissa. No; he put the wrong order in the computer. So, to avoid a big hassle and scene, and not delay our dinner with our friends, my husband switched plates with me. My truffle potatoes were just potato wedges and they were completely raw without any seasoning! I told the server and asked him to please replace them with some other vegetables or potato, He took them back and returned with them on a little plate about 3 minutes later. They microwaved them and they were still raw....and unseasoned. If I had been the server, I would have told the manager and as manager I would have talked to me as the customer. The meal was over $100, so it might have been nice to have not only the correct order, but they have properly prepared food. He was young and inexperienced but no one was really doing any kitchen QC at all. I've never been disappointed with Pappadeaux, but this was not a good situation. We also had to ask multiple times to have all the extra empty plates removed from our table to fit our coffee and dessert. I'm not one of "those people", but when you spend that amount of money, you really should get what you order, and if you don't get what you order, it should get fixed at the very least. Last week I visited one of my new favorite happy hour spots: pappadaddies. My roommate and I took down two pappadocious' (a frozen hurricane with a delicious pineapple snack), while our other friends enjoyed a glass of wine and a soda water. Chris said the soda water was a boom! Super carbonated and the lime was a fresh touch. We started with the happy hour fondue. As someone with incredibly low standards I thought it was absolutely delicious. Anything with cheese is going to get a 100/10 from me. My friends are certified big backs and they loved it too. The star of the show was the seafood cobb salad! We each split one and the portion was still huge! The ratio of toppings to lettuce was perfect and the salad was not too lettucey. We eat at Pappadeux pretty often. We made reservations for Christmas Eve to have a nice, relaxing family dinner. Food was fair, my daughters Sea Bass was not cooked all the way, my filet with lump crab was just warm and I got maybe one small piece of crab on my steak, my husband's grouper was just warm said it seemed like it had been sitting out for a while and my son said his French fries were gross. Had to wait a long time for food to come out. Now with all of this said no, they were not busy it was 2:00 pm in the afternoon. Disappointing Christmas Eve dinner. I think we'll save a lot of money next year and stay home to cook posole. read more

We went for my husband's birthday. There's a whole page of lunch special available till 3pm(serve while day for elderly) We didn't get anything from the lunch special tho. Our entrees were texas redfish and crawfish platter. Texas redfish is topped with crab meats and 4 shrimps. The crab meat is very buttery and flavorful. Redfish is much bigger than expected. For almost $50, this is great on both quality and cost. The portion of crawfish platters was also very generous. This is by far the best restaurant in New Mexico that I've ever visited. The quality and consistency of the food are unquestionable. My first time. I was in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to celebrate my friend's birthday. It was the first time I'd ever had salmon in a salad, and it was fantastic. A perfectly cooked aged beef ribeye with the nicest flavor I've had in a long time. In addition to that, I had the lobster tail, which was cooked wonderfully. The lobster tail was served with a lemon butter sauce, which was out of this world. The waiter's attention to detail was amazing; he returned again to check on us and replenished our water glasses. Definitely worth a stop for a bite to eat. However, because it took us a long time to get a table at dinnertime, I recommend making a reservation or getting on the wait list in advance. read more

We had Marcy as our server, and she brings exactly the kind of care to a great menu and restaurant that every owner should cherish. Mardi Gras pasta for 3 of us, and since I'm not able to eat mushrooms, she noted my allergy and her manager came to seek clarification on what I needed. I'm also not an andouille sausage fan, so she offered to pop in a few more shrimp in place of the sausage. Happy Camper right here! The 4th in our party got the fried shrimp lunch and it was well presented, and my friend said it was perfectly done. And can I sing praises for the bread and butter - what a treat! Long, long overdue review, from our October 2019 trip. DH spent some time in the South, so was familiar with this chain of restaurants. Everyone working here was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is huge and loud inside. The fried alligator ($25.95) was surprisingly delicious. It tasted like chicken. We got the large size because our server said it had a lot more food than the smaller size. It is a little spicy, but not too bad for us spicy wimps. House salad ($6.95) was just a basic salad. It was like the package mixes you could get at the grocery store with iceberg and shreds of carrot. The dressings were really good though. Stuffed Rainbow Trout ($31.95) was the start of the meal. It came with a rice that was seasoned with pecans. Trout was perfectly cooked and nicely seasoned. We would recommend this dish. Green beans ($5.95) honestly don't remember this dish too much. I think it was OK but perhaps a little undercooked. Praline Cheesecake ($7.95) was really delicious. Had a lot of flavor and it was very dense, just the way I liked it. We actually got the desert comped because it was my first visit to the restaurant. A very nice touch Overall, a really nice experience. Yum crawfish and other creole dishes! This place is always fabulous and I finally discovered their outdoor patio which was just great! It's a nice enclosed space with some shade and a water feature and some very clever birds that like to steal pieces of bread. I was there for lunch and was a bit surprised at how much prices have gone up. The food was still excellent and the staff was friendly though service was rather slow likely due to staffing issues. We went for a family dinner with my brother and sister in law and the experience was fantastic and the food was phenomenal! I personally have never been here and I can't believe it took me this long to try it! The restaurant brings me right back to New Orleans decor and you can't beat it! They also have live lobster you can purchase and they will cook it up for you at current market price if you are brave enough! The "King Of The Tank" was going for $181 and the "Queen Of The Tank" was $141. They also had others that cost less but the idea of picking your lobster was pretty unique for Albuquerque! If it wasn't for the fact that I love the food here and been here several times, I probably would've gave them a 3 instead of a 4. For the first time I made a reservation tho I always sit at the bar but wasn't sure if it was going to be extremely busy or packed so I said why not make a reservation which I had did early morning for the evening. I arrive at the location and they ask me where I want to sit, I was confused thinking that would've been set up already since I made a reservation. I said well where I sit doesn't matter at all since it doesn't even look busy at all. They said ok so would you rather sit at the bar? I said sure why not. But at the same time I was looking for to the reservation experience. I never sat at any of the tables any time I dined in. I always sat at the bar so I was looking forward to a different experience. I had them laugh and say something as I walked to the bar , I'm sure the remarks were well no point in making a reservation if you're going to sit at the bar. Made me wonder if they thought I was on a budget. Sike not this guy right here. I spent $95 with a smile on my face and could've spent more but I was a bit annoyed. While I sat at the bar , the service was a bit slow but I'm very patient. But they attended another customer before I was attended. I could've been the rude customer to make a comment but I'm not the guy to make others feel some type of way. But any way, besides my experience the food was excellent as always. I ordered a Louisiana gumbo along with the American red snapper and shrimp with dirty rice. I also tried the grand Hennessy for the first time. It was good but wasn't sure if it had enough liquor for the price of $16.50 I believe it was. I thought it was going to make me want another one, definitely not. But the food was great. After we finished eating, I went to talk with the hostess about it and two waitresses came up to the podium and interrupted me. I told them that they were rude and they glared at me. We'e been here several times and since it was Father's Day I selected Panadeaux for dinner. Sorry, I don't usually take pictures of my dinner, as that just doesn't do it for me. We had reservations for 6:30 PM, and at 6:32 we were seated on the patio, as was our choice. Great table, no wind, pleasantly spaced and listening to the water feature. We were fortunate to get a GREAT waiter named Emilio and he was one of the best servers we have come across in the past couple of years. He was attentive but not overbearing, very pleasant, a good personality and most importantly he didn't assume anything, but always asked if there was a choice to be made. His recommendations on the evening's dishes were excellent and he was very accommodating to all of our needs. There were four in our party and we were all highly pleased with the quality of the food and all items were prepared excellently. We had alligator appetizers, salads and main courses (all different) and desserts which were GIANT. Every dessert was huge and delicious. We left there full, and highly satisfied with our experience. What made the whole meal highly enjoyable was Emilio, however, who was helpful, gregarious and provided spot-on service. This place was fabulous, even as busy as it was on Father's Day, and I highly recommend it. When you go, be sure to ask for Emilio's section and you won't be disappointed. read more

I'm currently writing this with a full belly of shrimp and lobster! My family went for dinner for my mother in law birthday! She was so happy with her live lobster we picked. I hadn't been to a Pappadeaux in over 10 years and wasn't sure what to expect. I was very happy to hear our server tell me that all of their seafood was fresh and never frozen. I ordered the gumbo and switched my order from a safe shrimp and grits to the salmon, shrimp, scallops and crawfish with dirty rice. The gumbo was just ok. It had plenty of seafood, but the flavor was lacking depth. My main course, however, was very good and full of flavor. All of my seafood was cooked perfectly and the sauce it came with looked heavy, but it was surprisingly light and well balanced. The dirty rice was also cooked well and tasty. What treat! We don't have a Pappadeaux close, so whenever we head towards Texas, we stop to enjoy! Menu has changed since last visit but the staples are the same. We start with oysters Pappadeaux, plump juicy oysters smothered with crabmeat, spinach & hollandaise sauce. The crab meat is generous and there is enough juice to soak up with the sourdough bread they serve. Our entries are both great choices, my husband gets Grilled Shrimp & Andouille Sausage with red beans & rice. Shrimp are a good size, seasoned well and remains juicy. The andouille sausage is also moist. Casing a bit crunchy but the meat is really spiced well with very little grease that some sausage may produce when cook. I get the stuffed rainbow trout. Two halves of trout stuffed with crab meat, spinach, capers, pecans, squash and smothered in brown butter sauce. It's so yummy! Melts in my mouth, fish is cooked perfectly and the combination of flavors is excellent. We didn't want to skip dessert but we where fairly full. At the last moment we choice the key lime pie. It was thick, creamy and so rich. Just enough tartness. Had fresh berries and raspberry sauce. Our server was busy but we had decent service. Our past experience has always been excellent for service, this time our server was a little busy so we waited a bit for tea refills our cocktail and our bill. Overall, not a bad revisit. This is a great place for quality seafood. The calamari was spot on with added artichokes as a super welcome surprise. I could have been more happy with the shrimp not being split, but they were tasty. The broccolini was really good with a kick that I liked. We have been coming to Pappadeaux for years (PDX 25). My husband and I had our first date here years ago! Also the first time our son ever ate at a restaurant was here. We have a great experience every time. Our favorite dish is the alligator bites. Tonight we unfortunately found out that they changed their original alligator bite recipe to a version with hot honey glaze and peanuts. We tried them and I really can't say that I like them. They also substituted the delicious fries (potato sticks) with pickles :( I'm really really hoping that they bring the original ones back! Not only are they more meaty and delicious but they're nostalgic for us as well. That being said, Julia Webb was the manager tonight that helped up out and she was so understanding and professional. We both have allergies and she went out of her way to ensure that we enjoyed our time and that the food came out appropriately. She was so attentive and sweet - we wanted to tip her!
