Well a "LITTLE" lunch after Church this afternoon! Man it was amazing food! We had appetizer of Crawfish & Shrimp Fondue, Rachel had Mardi Gra Pasta and I had the Crawfish Platter (fried crawfish, crawfish etouffee w/dirty rice). There was enough food for six of us! Cassie our server was not only attentive, she knew her product well and was incredibly happy and put together! The inside of the place could be a place for families, business meeting or date night! This has been one of my favorite spots for dinner to go during COVID19. Their online ordering system is a breeze, I can order my apps, meals, alcoholic beverages, and even dessert with ease. We order to go at least every couple weeks. The process is this: order online, pay online, receive a text confirmation with time good work be ready, drive up and park in a designated to go spot, text your spot number, and a server comes out with tour food and places it in your backseat, trunk, or wherever you desire. Tip: If you do order alcoholic beverages don't be like me during my first experience and forgot your ID at home because they do cars to ensure you are 21+. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu but a few of my favorites include: Fried Alligator, Seafood & Andouille Sausage Gumbo, Salmon Alexander, Pasta Mardi Gras, and the Key Lime Pie. Really great!!!! I was amazed at how good the crab cakes were. Net time, I will eat the crab cakes as my meal! Two big crab cakes and not too much breading. Great fried shrimp like always! Red fish ponchetrain was good too Calamari appetizer was huge, the 3 of us could not finish it. Nice big meaty chunks of calamari and just the right amount of delicious breading. I was too stuffed for the strawberry cheesecake but my friends ate it Over $200 for 3 people for lunch is not something I can do every week but once in a blue moon is ok. I really like going to Pappadeaux - the crawfish platter is one of my favorites. However, I realize tonight was Valentine's day and a bit busy but to see servers stick their hands in the bar condiment containers and eat an orange slice, etc. was disgusting. At one point in time, one of the servers grabbed a lime wedge and throw it at one of the bartenders....not what I want to see when I'm paying $50+ for a meal....clean up your act Pappadeaux! read more

It's been a while since we enjoyed Papadeaux (pre-pandemic). We always loved it, it's just a little trek from our home. We dropped in for lunch and my husband and I split the gumbo, po boy, and shrimp and grits. Everything was great. The po boy had a good crunch without the bread being hard and the fried shrimp were great. Gumbo was a tad spicy but I still enjoyed it and I loved the whole shrimp on top. The shrimp and grits were also fantastic - incredibly filling. The best part of our meal however, was the service. Thank you, Edgar! This was by far the best service we've had in months, maybe a year. He was incredibly attentive, took care of all of our requests, and was fast! My last review was 5 years ago. We had no been since before the pandemic started. On Saturday 1/28/23 it was literally a spur of the moment stop for a late lunch for me and my wife. We got there about about 4-4:30pm and asked for a booth which we got immediately with no wait. We prefer a booth as the tables are entirely too close together. We sat at the booth directly behind the host counter. That is my only complaint. The tables are just too packed in and in this day and age of Covid, RSV, Flu etc I am just not that comfortable sitting so close to someone that if I stretch my arm out a little I'm touching someone. I know why they do this. It's to get more people in which I get. Easy fix. Ask for a booth if it bothers you. If you don't care then you are good to go. Anyway a young server waited on us and he was great. Very friendly and attentive. Having not been here since n over 5 years we were happy to see the menu hadn't changed too much. However there has been a noticeable price increase all across the board. But what hasn't gone up everywhere right? (Except paychecks)The cedar plank salmon wasn't on the menu which was sad. We ordered a dozen raw oysters. Thumbs up. Wife ordered grouper and I got the Pappadeaux platter. Between all that and the bread it's a lot. But wow it's good. Not 5 Star good but very very good. But one thing you must try is the bread pudding. Not even joking. It's one of the best things on the menu. Over all it was a really nice and fun experience. Hope to go back soon. read more

Stoped in for dinner. Was greeted by a nice hostess, she took me to my table, she was very pleasant, and told me I would have Jordan as my server. He stopped by asked for my drink order and was back shortly with my drinks. He took my order and a young lady brought my soup, again another friendly employee. The Gumbo was good as usual. My Flounder entree was also very good. Dining area was clean and had plenty of staff clearing tables and keeping dining room clean. Every employee I saw either said hello, asked if I was ok or something. Whoever is doing the hiring and training here is doing a good job. I appreciate a good staff and comfortable restaurant. Very bad experience!!!! Chose to come here for my birthday dinner.... We got seated and waited 15 minutes with no acknowledgment. I always enjoy any Papa restaurant! They appear well organized with great recipes and hard working employees. I stopped by this location which is near the DFW airport. It was great. The service was wonderful as was the meal. I started with gumbo, it was tasty but a little simple. I like it real spiced but still enjoyed it. My dinner was toasted hazelnut tilapia. Enjoyed it. This place is long overdue for a review! My fiancé and I travel often cause of his work. He is an electric engineer for Panasonic, so Texas is one of his main places to go to every year. We come here so often, that I forget to write a review. The food is so enjoyable that I eat everything before I can even take pictures. LOL! This place is known for its seafood with amazing pasta. We always come here when we land in Texas. This is one of our main hitting spots!!! The food melts in your mouth like ice melts in your mouth so smoothly and sensually. You can immediately get a mouth and food orgasm. Better than ever! I have to say, every time I come here, I leave with an immediate food coma. The food is just so tasty! Best thing on top of getting a food orgasm, is also getting big portions! We never leave empty handed. Enough food for the next day! You won't regret coming here!!! Best seafood in town!!!! We came in on a Saturday last minute decision, so no reservation. We put our name on the list, and got a table in about 30 minutes. Our server Shad was great! He was friendly, and took great care of us. The food was really good, too. We started with the mozzarella cheese bites, and they were great, as always. I ordered the Mahi-mahi and subbed a baked potato for the side. The baked potatoes are always terrific, and the fish was seasoned and cooked perfectly. We stooped in for a quick bite to eat before our flight. Not knowing we needed a reservation, so we had to wait for a bit for the manager to scramble to seat an unexpected party of six. Once seated, we were waited on almost immediately, which was great since our flight was in 3 hours at that point. Food was delicious! I had the shrimp etoufee, and a cute drink the waiter recommended to me. I hate that I can not remember his name. Cons: Atmosphere was open tables, not cozy, like a higher end restaurant. More like a Lubys cafeteria. Service was just ok. No Manager stopped by to greet us. My tea glass went empty a couple of times. Wife ordered Key Lime Pie for dessert. Looked kind of an off color brown, instead of normal green. She passed on eating it. We both thought the prices were high, but I guess you could figure that for Grapevine. Our opinion, overly priced for the atmosphere, and service. I have frequented Pappadeaux's Seafood Kitchen dozens of times over the past 28 years and have always enjoyed my meals. The prices have been steadily climbing over the years, nearly doubling over the past five years or so, but because we liked the food, we went regardless of cost. Last night my husband made reservations to celebrate our tenth anniversary and we ordered nearly identical meals. We both ordered seafood gumbo, though his was supposed to be seafood with andouille sausage and mine was supposed to be exclusively seafood. It wasn't. We both had large chunks of andouille sausage though mine had been served with a couple of extra shrimp on top. I did not care for the andouille sausage which was why I ordered mine (allegedly) without it. The cost was $13.00 and $14.00 per CUP and unlike other cajun restaurants that serve their gumbo and rice separately, this came combined and was chock full of rice, so we paid thirteen dollars for about 1 or 2 tablespoons of soup, each. We also both ordered Red Fish with Pontchartrain sauce, which was a huge disappointment. I had really sold my husband hard on how delicious the sauce for the dish is, as I have had Pontchartrain sauce before, but this dish was nothing like it is supposed to be. Instead of being prepared with shrimp stock, a roux and then mixed with madeira wine, shrimp and crab to create a sauce, it was merely melted butter with some cajun seasoning poured over the fish, then finished with a sprinkling of crab and a few shrimp. VERY bland. No wine, no garlic, no onion, carrot or celery, no roux. Being exhausted by terrible food and service pretty much everywhere of late, we didn't complain, but have decided that we will never return and so will quietly slip away as many disappointed consumers often do. Our server was delightful and stayed on top of our needs which is the only reason this review is two and not a single star. For the cost of our meals, the food should have been stellar, not sub par. read more

Over the years I have eaten at this to this location numerous times and have found certain aspects of the experience to be fairly consistent: 1. This place is very busy. Expect a wait to be seated, to be served and even to pay the bill, so plan accordingly. 2. The high volume of people yields a high volume in noise throughout the dining room. 3. Meals can be pricey, even more so once you add any salads, appetizers, desserts, etc. 4. The food and drinks are delicious enough to compensate for #1, 2 & 3 5. The portions are ample. No one is walking away hungry. The occasional inconsistency does occur though, as in my last visit in which the dirty rice was somewhat overly salty. I assumed that it must have been the whole batch because everyone at my table who had dirty rice shared that opinion. Everything else was seasoned and cooked perfectly though, as usual. read more

Had not been to pappadeaux in a long time. Then when we got our food and I took my first bite I remembered why. The food was terrible I didn't even finish my dish which was the Shrimp Etouffee. It was so pale and lack of flavor, and paying over 100 dollars for 3 people (no cocktails or appetizers) we felt robbed. I hadn't been so disappointed in a meal in a long time. We used to love coming here for the king crab legs before Covid. We recently went back for my husband's birthday dinner and the king crab legs have gone up nearly 60%. They were still delicious and the sides of pasta that they come with now are but larger portions than they were before. We will come back, just not as frequently as we have been pre-Covid. read more

This is a very large restaurant, lots of noise which you expect with it being so large. Our waitress, Montana was excellent. We had a party of 8 and she handled everything very well. We started with Oysters, they were served nice and cold and were good, we had a couple of orders of the crab dip which was very good, the toast served with it was very salty. We also had the shrimp and crawfish fondue with garlic bread, this wasn't very good at all. The shrimp and crawfish were both very chewy, almost hard. With 8 of us there were leftovers on that, not a good look. My wife ordered jumbo scallops with shrimp risotto. She enjoyed this and the risotto after I tasted it was also good. I had the Shrimp Jumbo Brochette with dirty rice. The shrimp were not jumbo, the bacon a little over done but the rice was phenomenal. I took half of mine home, warmed in microwave together with wet paper towel and it was much better the second day re-warmed. All the drinks everyone had were good and the key lime pie for desert was great. Again, service was great, food was average, tough and salty (leads me to think of poor freshness or handling) and because of that I would say over priced. read more

Reservations are recommended as we had to settle for an early bird time as they said 5:30-8 was booked solid. First time to Pappadeaux in several years as none near home for us. Ordered Manhattan drink ( $11.95). Very good but disappointing that it was served with a maraschino cherry.... Bread served before meal with soft butter delicious as we were hungry. Ordered the Paparadelle Pasta with lump crab, scallops and jumbo shrimp . Was a fantastic presentation and the flavor was exquisite! Finished off the meal with a slice of key lime pie with fresh berries. Overt- food was great, service was great up to food service then she disappeared until we ordered dessert. Once again top notch, we arrived early afternoon without realizing that today was Mardi Gras. Holy cow, this place was packed when we got here but somehow we still managed getting two tables next to each other right away. We started out with two dozen of the Bluepoint Oysters as appetizer, which went down in about 2 seconds flat between the 5 of us. Needless to say those are the bomb. As a main course I ordered the Red Snapper with Shrimps and substitute for the mash potato's instead of the steamed broccoli (in case you wonder why?, what's the difference between broccoli and booger? kids don't eat broccoli, lol). Anyway our meals arrived quickly and everyone on our table was happy and enjoyed their meals. Unfortunately my shrimps came out raw which was totally unexpected. I made our waitress Jade aware of it and the restaurant manager Maddie came quickly to our table and agreed that the shrimp came out undercooked. She apologized and got me perfectly cooked shrimps in no time and told us that my plate was on the house and apologized deeply. This was very sweet and completely unexpected but greatly appreciated and well handled by the restaurant,imho. As dessert we had the Breadpudding with vanilla ice cream and their famous Mardi Gras Cheesecake. Both are so delicious and to die for and I still feel paralyzed from all the food hours later.
