I do suggest making reservations since the wait time can be very long. My favorite dishes are the crawfish etoufee, catfish and oysters. It's a little on the pricey side, but the portions are big and delicious. The restaurant itself is quite large and can be loud when it's crowded. We've always received fast, friendly service here. My mom came to visit for the weekend and hadn't been to Pappadeaux's in a while, so I thought no better time than now to dine in for a late lunch. I was able to get a reservation, walked in with minutes to spare. (Did I mention you get a 15-minute grace period, WHEWWW). But we were seated right away and had the best server in the establishment. He was super sweet, patient, and personable. I ensured I left him a generous tip. All our food came out quickly, it was hot and delicious. I order the Wild Caught Grouper with the Jumbo Crab, FIREEEEE! This was my first time having this and I don't regard it. This dish is highly recommended! The fish was cooked to perfection, the shrimp were succulent, the crab was sweet. My mom got the Rainbow Trout with the Shrimp and WOW what a dish. The fish covered the entire plate. She had complaints as she devoured the dish. I also ordered my favorite classic dessert, the crème brulee. YUMMMM! I didn't know they even had it as an option, so glad I had it. Absolutely love this place. Make sure you make a reservation or you'll be waiting 1-2 hours to get a seat. You have to try the crispy alligator. I'm not big on exotic foods but you have to try this appetizer. You won't regret it. The sausage and seafood gumbo has a lot of flavor but it's very soupy. I like my gumbo a little thicker. The red snapper was perfect I'm every way. Crab cakes are also really good. Would I go back? I go back every time I'm within an hour of this place. read more

The service was excellent! We had a big group of about 18 people and the waiters that were assigned to us were very attentive. We sat in the enclosed room to the left which was private. We were able to make reservations and were told that we would be seated when our party arrived. The Cobb salad was huge and the amount of protein on it was perfect- they did not skimp! Met the family for brunch... first walked in and was greeted promptly... the music set the tone waking in .. we had a wait so a Gin and Tonic was on the menu ... Our server Tara was amazing! Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen continues to be one of my favorite places to dine on crab meat, specifically their Sautéed Crab Fingers w/dirty rice. Words just can't express how satisfying this dish is to the taste buds and the soul. I almost have an out-of-body experience nearly every time simply because they are so heavenly! But if you've read my previous reviews of Pappadeaux, then you already know this. So why am I writing today? I just need to give a shout out to the staff on duty today working just days after Thanksgiving (11/25/23), and especially Jazzy, who really took care of me when I complained about what appeared to be a small amount of crab fingers in my to-go order. I went as far as pulling up a pic of my previous order just to illustrate my point and she really surprised me with a generous addition to my order. She also explained the crab fingers that came in this week are quite a bit larger than the normal size and since they go by weight and not count, it definitely was less fingers in count, but in actuality more meat. Her overcompensation was so generous, in fact, that I felt crazy guilty and offered to pay for the additional ones, but she wouldn't accept! After getting them home and beginning to devour them one by one, the larger-than-average size really became more apparent. The meat on each equaled the length and thickness of my thumb, when normally they would be about 2/3rds the size of my pinky finger. GREAT, now I feel even more guilty for complaining, but also grateful! So grateful in fact that it prompted me to write a review I wasn't planning on writing just to: A) say thank you so much for handling me with such care and B) encourage anyone dining here while they have these large crab fingers available NOT to be to concerned about the dish appearing to have less than the usual amount, because these are so dang meaty they more than make up for it! Very terrible evening of service from staff up to management. If a waiter spills food on your satin dinner coat while you're sitting at the table, they will offer compensation of taking your drink off the tab (-$16) if you don't want to be reimbursed for dry cleaning. I took the dry cleaning option and will now have to inconvenience myself of my time and gas to bring the receipt back up there. Corporate is supposed to contact me because I was asked for my contact info. Reservations for a party of 10, we didn't get WATER until close to 7pm. Food took forever. Getting tabs closed out took forever. A member of our party had to go see why it was taking almost 15, 20mins to get our cards back. Management from the gate was lackadaisical with no help of getting the server to the table sooner. Throughout the evening I got food spilled on me, my shoe stepped on by their staff. Papadeaux is one of those restaurants where I always pass it and it always seem busy/full. That only means one thing, the food is good. I came here with family and well, I thought it was interesting. A ton of tables inside, and mostly full! So let's get onto the food and see what we ordered. Sadly, I wasn't quite as hungry when I came here so I shared a dish with the wife. We shared a salmon dish, but it was pretty great! It was a well seasoned fish and went great with the rice that we also got as a side. As far as for appetizers, I can also mention that the crab cakes were pretty delicious as well. There's plenty of seating and would say that they're always poppin'. Although it did take 2 hours and 15 mins to seat our party of 10, we enjoyed ourselves cutting up at the bar while waiting. Does any restaurant in the ATL accept reservations? The food and drinks were excellent but our waiter was beyond fantastic. He took all of our orders without a single pen or piece of paper, including two vegans with very special orders.
