Paris Baguette is a chain in New York City that serves up great coffees, teas, breakfast sandwich's and pastries. This particular location is in Chinatown. It's clean, efficient and nicely decorated. The display cases are full of tantalizing pastries and from my experience they taste every bit as good as they look. I asked for a soy latte. That was great too. The wait was not long at all. I also like the fact that this branch paid homage to the neighborhood with wallpaper depicting local landmarks and Chinese New Year celebrations. The pastries aren't awful, here -- but they are far from the quality you would find at a Dominique Ansel establishment, a Mille-Feuille, Red Hen, King Arthur, or Maison Kayser. I suspect pastries are not baked on site -- or if they are, they are left in the case for long enough that laminated pastries lose their crisp and become a bit rubbery. Croissants and all spinoffs thereof lack the delicate lamination and high quality fillings of a top-tier bakery. Filled items are not generously filled. Items that have a longer shelf life (e.g. cream cakes or maybe mochi donuts) may compare more favorably, but we've had poor luck with the laminated pastries at this location and other locations we've been to in the city (in the K-town, UWS, UES, and midtown locations). TLDR: If I'm going to feed my family sugar and saturated fat, I'd rather do so more enjoyably with pastries from a truly top tier establishment! I stopped into this shop to get one of my pastries and see what else they have. I picked up a croissant donut with citrus icing, except I felt like this donut had orange zest instead of lemon zest like the others I've tasted. It was different but also a little bitter. I think they might have added a little too much zest. Otherwise, the store was nice. The pastries were arranged really nicely. They had a few small tables and chairs in the back of the store as well. But this post is not about bad taste or pricing but an incompetent employee who I believe is a manager because he dresses differently. This happed on Friday 5/1/26. This is a very nice Paris Baguette that is relatively new in Chinatown. Just next to the B and D train stations on Grand Street. So it's convenient to the train for me. The place got nice floors! I love the black and white pattern the floor got going on. They also got nice, clean working bathroom and a good adequate amount of tables and chairs in the back for dining. Very peaceful and quiet atmosphere. No music playing. They got lots of coffees, teas, and special drinks on their menu including matcha latte and lavender Frappuccino, which I tried but it's kind of sweet in my opinion. I love their milk bread and soft cream bread. It's very fluffy and silky smooth. The slices are thick and neatly packed in the plastic bag. Nice bag design and very appealing to buy. I did not realize Paris Baguette got sourdough bread until I stepped in. A cool feature. I saw their new cake today, which was the strawberry pistachio cake! The whole cake is green and very pistachio with strawberry slices in between layers. Very temping but decided to get next time because I had to go somewhere. Just got the milk bread, which was neatly packed and got a nice long skinny thick papered shopping tote bag. Good place to get coffee next to Chinatown, they have nice danishes and coffee. Paris Baguette definitely has great coffee. I usually get it black; it is always freshly brewed, and it has a nice taste. Service was good, and the store is very clean. I would definitely return if I am in the area again. I'm a fan of Paris Baguette chain! I think they do pastry and cakes better than TLJ and other Asian bakeries. However their prices are slightly steeper... but quality is better tho. Happened to be around Grand St and saw they opened a PB here! Excited so I can grab breakfast before my hair appointments from now on. Hehe My fav is always their coffee bun! Never not hit. For my daughter's birthday we ordered the 6" rainbow cake ($45). The cake was beautifully decorated, wasn't too sweet, and had a nice citrusy flavor. I appreciated that the cream was very light and airy--not at all like the stodgy buttercream found in a lot of American cakes. Because of its length, the happy birthday message was written in chocolate syrup on the plate as opposed to the top of the cake. Placing a pre-order was quick and easy in-person, as was pickup. The staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the cakes all come in only one size. For a full cake, the 6" size is the smallest Paris Baguette offers. This was too large for our needs. A few days later, we returned to Paris Bagueette for the berry tart. I found the crust too hard, but the cream was good and again not too sweet. My kids really just wanted the berries, which were lightly covered in a syrupy glaze. In the past I'd purchased a chocolate mochi donut, which was good and nicely chewy, but ultimately pretty forgettable. I would definitely return to Paris Baguette for some of their novelty creations, including their Lafayette Bakery-like chocolate surpreme croissant (at a fraction of the price), as well as their seasonal cake slices (including a mini white chocolate and raspberry buche de noel). read more

For what it is, a mid-level cafe chain, this Paris Baguette location is fantastic. The service is always friendly and efficient, food is displayed well and is updated frequently, the bathroom is clean, and the location is conveniently near the subway station. I was pleased to discover their coconut mochi donut, which I have not seen at other locations. On my way out, I noticed a mango & cream brioche that looks amazing; I know what I'm getting next time. Pros: Quick, efficient, and high quality for the price! Honestly a better chain than Dunkin or Starbucks. Like any cafe, there are certain times where it tends to get a bit busy, but overall it's a pretty relaxing and relatively quiet place. My go-to's are the Iced Chai Latte and the Iced Hazelnut Latte. The chai latte tastes like horchata, which I like, but is just a little too sweet for me--not that much of a deterrent though! The Iced Hazelnut Latte is pretty much perfect. The more milk-based drinks always taste nice and creamy, unlike watered down Starbucks and Dunkin, lol. Cons: I wish it had more seating! For ex., from the times I've visited, the seating is always full. They have a leaning area in the store's front area, but oddly no chairs there--perhaps to prevent foot traffic? Not sure, but there's 1 seat by the left side window and it would benefit from another one, lol. There is a display case of breads and pastries nicely laid out for your own taking. I've tried a bit of their selections and noticed that their wrapped/bagged individual filled buns (creme, beans, custard) are not freshly baked at the location itself, which may be why it tasted stale. Oddly a sticker indicates they've traveled from a different facilty...so I would stick with their opened tray items. But, if you want to ensure the freshes, there are some items like their tray donuts that do have a little postcard noted with a date/time stamp for freshness. Also, after a while all the breads and pastries are pretty much the same daily rotation, which leaves little to desire. Changing the menu more would give more appeal. read more

The quality is top-notch, with a perfect crust and soft, flavorful interiors. They also offer delightful pastries and a few gluten-free options, which is a big plus.
