I asked for a quote to replace my house water shut-off valve. They showed up that day and on time which was refreshing. The quote was less than refreshing.....$1790. Ridiculous!!! The valve itself costs $30 or so at Home Depot. I get it that you are paying for the convenience and professionalism but really??? I asked the tech how long it would take and he said 45 minutes to 2 hours ($850/hr....really??) so this was not a huge undertaking. I can do this sort of work myself, but thought if I could have a pro do it for around $500, it would be worth it. Nope. P&S seems to have a big and thriving business so good for them. Eighteen months ago we had an AC put in. Went well, they did a good job. Gave them 5 stars. Unfortunately everything they have come out after that they want to charge $1500.00 for anything, plumbing, electrical and AC maintenance. Had some plumbing done and it cost over $2000.00. I called to have new wiring and a breaker installed for a new appliance. The service tech. Patrick was very pleasant, kind and professional. He showed up when he was supposed to very communicative. They will call 1/2 hour before and they have a live location Update text to let you know their exact ETA. They do not charge a service fee for coming out to give an estimate, FYI they are a little more expensive, so do not be shocked when getting the estimate! This one job $1,672.00 a little steep for a one income household, so will not be able to get the other electrical work I need done. Also on a sidenote, they do not repair any drywall holes that need to be cut for the job, but again Patrick was very communicative with every step of the installation. read more

I have been a customer with Parker and Sons and have had great service at decent prices. Recently I asked for a quote to hook up my gas Bbq to the stub that was pre-existing and had been installed by my pool contractor. I was told the technician would have to quote me. When he arrived, he quoted 480$ and I was shocked! He was here 1 hr and 15 min and in between, left to get a part! I called to complain and was given a 100$ reduction in the price. Let me first say that I am really shocked at the varying levels of service I am reading here in the reviews. I first reviewed Parker and Sons back in 2022. I have had nothing but outstanding and timely customer service from Parker & Sons since I bought a home here back in 2019. I first became acquainted with them when I had them service my HVAC units. I have since had them do some electrical work for me, as well as quoting some future planned jobs. They are not the cheapest, so if you need cheap, they wont be the ones, but as far as quality service and thorough, thoughtful, best long-term value for your projects, I certainly feel they are at the top of the list. A great example from a recent project quote was as they were preparing the quote they noticed an urgent issue in the electrical panel. A circuit breaker had been replaced by the previous owner improperly based on the wiring. They had put a 20 amp breaker where a 15 amp belonged. Definitely a fire hazard! Of course I had him correct this and while doing so he noticed that the irrigation system had been piggy-backed off of another circuit, so he put in a double breaker, with one side for the improper bathroom CB and the other side for the irrigation. All for just the cost of a breaker replacement. If that is not great customer service, I don't know what is. These are the little things the lowest bidder is not as likely to give you. read more

He said he worked the kink out and charged more than $2000. Now a week later, the outside unit began to emit noises. I called this organization to have the wax seal and cut-off valve replaced on my toilet They sent somebody out, and he arrived on time, but was wary about giving me the price--and once he showed me that it cost $900, I can see why. I said that was too high, so he got me $50 in discounts and dropped the price to $850. Still not good enough. I asked him how long it would take to do it, and he said one hour. So, a one hour repair job with less than $20 in parts ends up costing $850 dollars?! No thanks. I'm going to the next on my list. That's beyond unreasonable. The only reason they got two stars was because they did show up on time, and everything did go well, other than the fact that the price is ridiculously expensive and certainly not something that I would be amenable to doing. I saw that another user here had the same problem and called Mustang Plumbers and had a significantly better deal. I did the same, and was quoted $130 for the same job. Our AC unit is leaking Freon and dying a slow death after nearly 19 years of service, so no complaints considering the average life expectancy is only 15 years. What isn't great is the fact that AC units are far more expensive now than they were prior to 2020, along with everything else. The only thing you can really hope is that you can feel comfortable with your decision on who to choose when it's time. Here's why I chose Parker and Sons: 1. The people I've encountered: It started with Henry in Home Depot. He got a tech out to inspect the unit and do maintenance by giving me a great coupon. The tech who came out, Jordan, was very nice and made me feel like he wasn't pushing me into something I wasn't ready to do. Nate came out today, and I really felt like he did a great job of answering my questions, and I felt like he was doing all he could to make sure I would be satisfied and comfortable with my decision. 2. The reputation and quality: I learned that Parker is one of the few companies in the valley that participates with the pearl certification program which indicates that their service is outstanding, and it means once the unit is installed, I'll be able to transfer the warranty and the home will appraise higher if I end up selling. Also, I have a 15 year parts and labor warranty which is above and beyond what other companies offer. 3. Value: Buying an AC unit is expensive no matter where you go, unfortunately. What I've learned from Nate is you get what you pay for, and I don't want the hassles anymore of dealing with AC issues every year or two and wondering when the unit will need to be replaced in the middle of summer and what that will mean to our family. When comparing this to a lower priced competitor, they lower priced competitor offers less in every way and nickel and dime you to where you haven't saved as much as you thought you would. While I haven't had the work done yet, I've been impressed so far with Nate and the rest of the crew, and look forward to having a new, more efficient and quieter unit to work reliably for many years to come. read more

Decided to have our a/c tuned up for the summer. Albert was sent to perform the task. He was very professional and courteous. Albert was also very knowledgeable and informative. Because we hadn't kept up with our maintenance the motor was burning itself out. However, Albert wasn't pushy about replacing, just brought it to our attention and even said it still would perform but wasn't sure how long motor would last. Albert also did a chemical cleaning of outside coils at no cost, he made sure to come inside and cleaned the inside portion too. He didn't leave until our unit was performing as best it could. In this day and age, being able to trust your repairman is huge and I'm so happy I called Parker and Sons! Their commercials are a little hokey but their people are top notch, especially Albert! We've used Parker & Sons for years, no issues, they always did a great job. However, the deal breaker was when a team member, Michael, came to my house to show me new A/C options. This is my experience of what happened. I had no idea it would be such a hard sell, very intense. Like a car salesman. After seeing two options one at $16K and the other at $23K, he said he'd run a credit check to see if I qualified for a loan. He assured me it would be one hit on my credit report for a hard pull to see financing options. He processed my info and told me Wells Fargo approved me. After going over the numbers, I explained I needed to research other companies for different price quotes. I had no idea how much A/C units cost and I wanted to do my research before agreeing to anything. He became a bit snippy and left. Days later - I received a credit card from Well Fargo for $26,900! He literally opened a credit card without my consent. It took me a week (time away from work!) talking with the bank and credit agencies to close the card/to have it removed from my credit report. They both let me know that what he did was absolutely wrong and illegal according to the Truth in Lending Act. When I called to let a P&S manager, Austin, know, he replied, "I'm so sorry that happened, I'll have to do some coaching with him." And then... tried to offer me a discount on a new unit or a free year of membership. I explained I was absolutely not interested, I was still so upset and he made it worse by trying to sell me products. THEN the next day another salesperson, Rebecca, called and emailed me to try to sell me an A/C unit as well. Needless to say, we won't be hiring them again. read more

This company took complete advantage of me, an elderly lady regarding an air conditioning service and an electrical repair of 2 breakers. After servicing, the air conditioner worked for about 2 weeks. Then, it blew hot air. Under warranty, that department sent out a technician who insisted it needed a capacitor and another small report which cost $315.00. After putting those on, he started the Unit and I heard a loud noise. He said the compressor and blown up. On the electrical, after replacing the 2 breakers half of my electrical did not work on one side of my house and my new sub pump. My back porch is now sitting in 6 inches of water from the rain. I called there for a full refund which they claim they paid. I called on 5/14 for a replacement check which I was told would take 14 days. I never received it. I vetted this company before I used them. I have had no further communication. They are in my opinion, incompetent. Service 0, Quality 0 and Value 0. They charge a high price but are not worth it. We had a GFI failure and, without researching (due to time constraints), I called Parker and Sons. The tech fixed the outlet and soft-sold us on a whole electrical circuit breaker replacement. Less than 3 hours later, the job was done and we were charged $6200! I've investigated what other electricians charge and, max, the job would have been $4000 if we actually needed the work done at all. Parker and Son I needed a plumber and all I got was ghosted. Made an appointment online, got my automated email confirmation and that was it. I never heard from them again. I called when I was at the end of my appointment time slot to ask if someone was still coming and the operator told me yes, you're on the list. I asked if there any estimated time they would come since it was past my appointment time and they said no telling, no idea, they will contact you when they are on their way. Four hours past my appointment time had come and gone, and not one word. That is so bad on so many levels. I had a 12-year-old water heater. Rather than risking it going out and causing damage (and a mess), I purchased a new electric water heater. Most installation companies require that you purchase the new water heater through them... and then they charge you 2-3x what the water heater actually costs. To avoid that expensive debacle, I purchased mine direct from Home Depot... and then set up installation with their dedicated installer -- Parker & Sons. Parker & Sons does not have the best reviews, so I admittedly was a little concerned. Well, Chris came out handled the job with the utmost professionalism... and did a fantastic job on the install! From draining and removing the old one to bringing in and leveling the new one... to getting the plumbing lines and power secured! Really like the Quality Kris Strending and Tyler provide. I was talking to my salesman and he told me Kris had moved on and I was hoping to get him back for other upgrades to my plumbing. The good value was the peace of mind I had always having Kris on the Job. I hope Kris will go back to Parker as I trust the work he does and the warranty of the Largest Company I believe in the Valley. I think I found a good balance of small business by finding a talented Licensed Plumber and I know I trust the Parker team. I hope the team can re-recruit my favorite plumber in Az. My neighbors asked me why am I obsessed with one plumber? I always tell them the guy literally crawled through the thickest Choya that being like spiky cactus and at the time we had a real road issue and I know because I went under there, and I couldn't go an inch without getting stabbed in the belly so I don't know if you had some sort of bulletproof plumber bat suit, but it really thoroughly impressed me that he did not quit the job. My other favorite plumber Tyler actually got livid with the situation because it was such a bad maintain home, but you understood that I just took delivery of the monster. Anyway, this is my reach out and kind of wish to the universe because I got a lot of more work coming up and I don't wanna change company brands. I like my house to be a whole entity of Parker. Truth be told I would've did my whole electrical with them and Air conditioning but my budget ran out and I found out electrician that if you cross Reed, my stuff is probably the best value for the job in the valley. Also another great guy does not to say I didn't actually really like the Parker electric guy. Had a new air conditioner placed in my home three years ago. Should've only taken half a day, but it took 12 hours. They had to send a more experienced crew to complete the job. In order to not void my warranty they have to do two check ups a year. Anytime the service person comes to my house. They are always late and they are always new on the job. Employees simply don't stay with this company. Their communication is horrible. They will come to your house and ask you what they're there to fix rather than knowing beforehand, this company has simply grown too big for their britches and I definitely would not use them again. We had an emergency. Our main breaker for our house was tripped, and would not reset. Called them, and they had someone out in less than half an hour. Mitchell looked at the breaker, saw that it was broken, and offered to replace it. He told us it was a discontinued item, and very expensive, but he thought he had one on his truck. We then got to price. He showed me the item on his tablet, and I could see that the price was over a thousand dollars! He then told me the cost of the repair was $1080. My wife came out, and I told her and he confirmed that it was $1080. We said ok, and he did the repair as he did have one on his truck. After the repair, my wife went to retrieve the credit card and he looked, and saw we had a card on file. He then gave me his tablet to sign. All I could see on the tablet was the signature box. He then did some work on the tablet, and had me sign again. My wife came out with the card, and we told her they had the card on file, and had processed the payment. He then told us it was for $1880! Eight hundred dollars more than he quoted us earlier! We had never seen anything in writing on the cost, just what he had told us. He then said that he was a little hard of hearing, and thought we had confirmed the full price, even though we had repeated the $1080 price to him several times. He then offered to REMOVE the breaker if we didn't like the price, which of course we couldn't do. He left, then came back a few minutes later to get an email address for us. We called to complain about the price switching, but didn't get any help but that we would get a call from a manager the next morning. He called (the wrong cell phone) and then we called him back. He said the part cost them $900 (you can find many of them on Amazon for $350 to $400) and we asked him why did it cost them a thousand dollars to install it, he dodged the question. So, we had another expensive lesson on Never Trust a Repairman! They do good work, just expect to pay for it, out the nose! read more
