Well, it started well, but ended beyond unacceptable. I booked an appt online for an estimate to service my reverse osmosis system. The website clearly indicates that that the estimates are free, which is industry standard, unless its for an HVAC visit. The process was easy and I booked for a 12-4pm timeframe the same day. At around 1pm, "Austin" arrives at my front door. This is how it started.( I should have asked him to leave, but I was being patient). Austin enters and we confirmed my request for an estimate which he acknowledged. I asked him how his day going. His response? "I just fix what other people break". Really? That's how you talk to a customer? He continued to perform his "estimate" and explains the issue is the membrane. Now, keep in mind the membrane is a $30 part with 3 quick connects. Takes about 10 minutes to change. He then quotes me $187 to change it! I told him that I asked for an estimate on a complete service but based upon that ludicrous quote, we wont be doing business. He then informs me that there is an $84 service fee!! I kindly reminded him of the websites statement concerning estimates. He stepped out to make a call, then promptly decided to depart. I then found and called Pentair, formerly Aquascience. There charge for a complete system service including the membrane? $89 for the service, $34 for the membrane!! Buyer beware when dealing with Austin & Parker and Sons! Oh, a funny side note: I went to our local Frys an hour or so later and lo and behold whom do I see alseep in his company truck? Called for what I expected to be a warranty repair on a hot water heater. They wouldn't give an answer as to whether it was covered, over the phone, and instead said they could have a guy at my house this same morning. He showed up in less than 10 min. and proceeded to tell me he needed to replace the 2 heating elements and a valve, but he wouldn't charge for the valve. Watch for these sales tactics, kiddies. I still thought it was covered at this point, until he tried to give me something for free. Long story short, they are ridiculously priced. They charged me $440. I found the same parts at HD that were replaced by them, for $35. I could have purchased an entirely new hot water heater for what they charged doing a 5 min job. Now for the lesson for you all, save $400 and buy the parts at HD and watch a 5 min youtube video on how to do it. Since that's what I did when these so called "better" parts needed replaced again by me, less than 2 years later. read more

Oh boy. This was probably the worst experience yet as a new homeowner. I have a much older Trane unit. I hired P&S to come out just for maintenance. Just let me know how it's doing. First team comes out and says "wow it was so old I was practically scared to touch it haha" this was....odd. Like, you didn't want to touch base with the customer? As you can assume, after their "maintenance", they left, and 2 hours later we realized that we just weren't cooking all of a sudden. Keep in mind, unit was old, but fine. Worked. Blew nice and cool. Didn't have issues. Another team is dispatched next day, and they spend 2 hours further messing with the unit. They tell me what I've already realized: they broke my unit. The sheer number of times (literally over 20, not joking) that the second team said "listen this isn't our fault or responsibility) was just pathetic and insulting. Even low-end garages for cars will tell you "hey man, this thing is an '89, we can't touch it." Might be frustrating, but basic knowledge means they'd know "oh man, I'll probably break this no matter what." By the end they're quoting me for a 10k new unit setup with $500 off as an "apology." Oh, and did I mention that literally every single person, phone and otherwise, kept trying to push me into their "family plan?" Y'all, you BROKE MY UNIT. STOP SELLING ME NONSENSE. Ugh. Awful. Like I've worked commission jobs before but this took "slimy pressure tactics" to a new level. Again. Legit worst actual experience I've had as a homeowner since getting my place. Do not call this company. They will break your things and then sell you more expensive items, and the whole time they'll pressure you into a dumb "family plan" while barely apologizing for their damage. read more

Like to say so far, this was a good experience. This is the first time that I've had a call to get my AC fixed. I purchased my AC and purchased the service plan through Parkers and Sons. They also did a service on my AC maybe two months ago and it was good so I called today, June 7 2024 because my AC wasn't working scheduled between 10 and 2 Pm. At 1 o'clock I was told that the technician is going to be late but no estimated time he will be at my house. It is now 3:15 PM no call from the technician or when he will arrive. We live in Arizona one the hottest states in the US when someone open a ticket with the service company to fix the AC the expectation is it will be done during the schedule time. read more

Parker and Sons gave me a proposal which was very price competitive, has a great warranty, and experienced installation and service. The proposal was the best we got. In July 2013, Parker & Sons replaced my air conditioner with a 5 ton day and night unit, removed & capped off the old evap cooler, added a return air handler in an add-on room, and blew 14 inches of insulation into my attic. My utility bill was cut in half!! I am still using their semi yearly check up plan. I like the confidence knowing they've checked it out and they have found a couple small problems that were repaired before they were evident to me. They are always prompt, professional and courteous. However I'm writing this review because I tried to get a $11 credit back from them for 30 days, and as right now I have still not got the credit. It was for some VIP service that I paid for. I don't know how good their service is but if it's anything like their accounting department. I would stay very clear of giving them a credit card until you get a service. I'm not sure I want to post my review on social media, the job requested was completed and we did pay for it but the cost was absolutely ridiculous. The request for a hot water recirculating pump was made on line so there was no mention of the outrageous fee you charged. The cost of the pump was less than $500 so we were charged around $1,000 for 15 minutes of labor, that is about $66 a minute, a little excessive. If you charge a flat rate for everything you do regardless of the ease or complexity there are certainly some winners and some even bigger losers, apparently we fall into the major loser category. We are doing some kitchen remodeling which included new countertops and a new sink. I hired Parker & Sons to disconnect the old sink and reconnect the new one. Josh came and did the disconnect. He was professional, communicative and explained the process and the pricing. Since he wasn't going to be able to do the reconnect a couple days later, he made sure to tell Kevin, the guy who put it all back together, what to expect and what was needed. Kevin did great work too. He needed to stop and go get some parts since my new sink drain was offset, and he did this in a very timely manner. He was also very professional, nice to talk to and helped me understand some intricacies on my new faucets. All in all, a great experience all around. We emailed Parker and Sons and set an appointment for an air conditioner repair. The drip pan was overflowing in the attic and dripping into laundry room. We attempted to find and unplug the drip pan drain but couldn't find it. We went on line to make appointment. Parker and Sons set an appointment between 10am to 2pm. I thought this was very responsive considering how important AC is in Arizona. there were several emails confirming the appointment. Around 2:30 x 3ish they telephoned me and said the technician was running late. I said no problem as I was home. They also left a phone message saying they'd be delayed. I returned call and said the technician could come when ready. A little later the technician left a phone message......I didn't hear the message until 20 minutes later. The short of it is that even though I spoke on the phone to a dispatcher confirming that I was home and ready for the service call, the technician CANCELLED the appointment because I only confirmed appointment with dispatcher, not the technician (they allow only 10 minutes to reconfirm your original confirmation). Parker and Sons cancelled appointment because I didn't follow their convoluted appointment policy. I called Parker and Sons about 4:45 pm about my appointment and was informed it was cancelled (because of the above company policy). no effort on the company part to reschedule.....just "you're cancelled" and no effort to reschedule. read more

Beware of this company-they SAY they are 24 hours. They actually mean they have an answering service to schedule you 24 hours. I purchased an ac unit from them because they were backed by Costco. I have never had such an awful experience. It hasn't even been a year, and the unit has broken twice. The thermostats they provided completely lose power and just go blank. A technician came last week, claimed to have fixed it and left. 5 days later it does the same thing. Now, I am waiting again for over 18 hours for someone to call back during their ACTUAL business hours. I'm not one to write reviews, but people need to beware of this company. We had a water softener unit put in by them. The were nice enough and seemed to know what they were talking about, but it's just a sales act. Since they installed the unit, we've had extremely low water pressure. They've sent 4 technicians out to "fix" it by cranking up our water pressure regulator to 90 psi (shouldn't be above 65 for safety of the pipes). When I asked about why they kept doing it they said the regulator must be broken and quoted us $699 to fix it. We had another company out that not only fixed the regulator for $150 but notified us that Parker and Sons didn't program our softener correctly and it wasn't even working! Not only that, but they plumbed the softener before our landscaping, meaning when the water softener were watering our plants with salt water! Great way to kill a yard. On top of this, they put some very unnecessary piping through our patio to drain the softener which multiple plumbing companies have told us was not needed at all. We also had them look at our HVAC unit as it was making a lot of noise and our master doesn't get great airflow. Their technician did not go into the he attic to look at anything, quoted us $6700 for new insulation and duct work and left. Another company took the time to figure out the issue and went into the attic, explained what was wrong and is going to fix it for $2k. What I've learned is that this company has unqualified technicians who look to up charge their crappy service. Don't go with them, please. We're 1 month into having them work with us and we're still dealing with the issues they caused. read more

The employees at Parker & Sons have been amazing to work with. Timing has been impeccable and the quality of work perfect. I had some pretty major work completed at the end of 2020 which started off with a water main break, UGH, bad luck; however, Parker & Sons quickly identified the problem and fixed it - now I am set for 25 years with my warranty. Since the water main work went so well I decided to call them back to install a new water heater. Dave rocked that job. Dave had a few recommendations to help me maintain my heater and all water valves in my house. Once I figured out that most valves were stuck shut I decided for the sake of me and my wife's health, as well as the health of our plumbing system that we would get a water softener and R.O. system. WOW! Our water is the best. I have only used this fine organization for plumbing related issues/upgrades, but as a result of my experience they will now get my AC business too. Thank you to everyone who came to my home to make it a better place. Parker & Sons is not the cheapest service out there, but always keep in mind - "you get what you pay for". I'll start with: I would give 5-stars if I weren't charged the service fee 2x for a call, then a re-call. The first "service" was to tell me that my A/C was iced-over and he couldn't do anything, the 2nd service was completed, and I'm a happy customer. Tips from 1st repairman, Bill, that can save you a spare service fee / diagnostic charge: If your filter is too dirty, or you are low on freon, it can cause your coils and/or compressor line to ice-over. Nobody can help you until you shut off your unit (you can leave the fan running) - and the ice completely thaws. - We took the filter completely out and it still iced-over. My filter was dirty and needed to be changed, no doubt about it, but with no filter, and it still iced-up, needed more freon. Bill was nice on Saturday night around 10:30-ish - Emergency call with A/C out - baby in-house. Unfortunately my attic-unit coils were iced over and the line to the compressor was also iced over so much he couldn't do anything. Luckily that was the night the storm rolled through, and the temperature dropped pretty significantly. The ice melted around 3:00 am or so, and I was able to get a little cool air in the house. Sunday I had to toggle the unit on and off because the ice kept returning. Sean came over on Sunday night, around 9:30-ish, he too was awesome. Says he found a reading of "low Superheat" - TBH I'm not sure exactly what that means - I think he explained it to me, but I had my hands full of other chores. Sean found the blower wheel (likely never cleaned in 20 years) to be restricted due to the dirt. Also found a bad capacitor reading at less than half capacity (half-power?). We feel our A/C is blowing air harder than ever before, the system hasn't iced-over since. It was pricey, luckily covered with my home warranty. PM me if you would like to know more. Edit: Parker & Sons reached out to me to confirm that the 1st service fee should have been returned since I did have a service completed on a re-call (they may have other stipulations - please confirm with Parker & Sons for their requirements). We love Parker & Sons, first crisis out A/C broke in the middle of a very hot summer! They came out in the dark to get it temporarily running so we didn't have to go to a hotel, and then got us a new unit installed the very next day! They were great to work with, gave options for different priced units and offered a payment plan as well. I felt very well taken care of and since then they have made seasonal maintenance visits to make sure all is running smoothly. Recently our water heater flooded the garage- so again I called Parker and sons and they were there within an hour, the tech worked into the night to get a new water heater installed. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for quality service in a timely manner, everyone I spoke to or was in contact with for both issues (A/C and Water heater) were professional and courteous. My home was built in 1950 and after some water damage due to the old plumbing, I had to have my whole house re-piped and the drains/sewer replaced. It was a wild experience and I appreciate that Parker & Sons had the expertise to do the repairs. The guys were great! I learned so much! I am very happy with the work performed by Parker & Sons. After going through the process, I have some feedback: I wish I had been advised to remove or cover any remaining items inside my home before the work was performed. I figured the drain line replacement would be a dirty job, but I didn't realize how severely dirty it would become. Perhaps this is naive, but these specific plumbing repairs were a new experience for me. Because I left items inside my home uncovered, I had to do a lot of cleaning after the drains were replaced. This could have been avoided if I had been educated / cautioned before the job was performed. (Also, if you are a home owner and have fur babies - I was paranoid about dogs & humans being exposed to Valley Fever spores so we really deep cleaned all the remaining dirt left on the floor, under appliances, and in crevices before moving back in to the home. Valley Fever spores can be killed using 10% bleach solution.) Crews can do a better job of cleaning up after themselves around the perimeter of the home. Outside I discovered cigarette butts, orange peels, half-eaten produce discarded in the yard, and fragments of 1-inch PVC. If this is what the owner sees when they arrive home, it leaves a lasting impression which undermines the hard work and expertise of skilled plumbers. Offer a complementary post-repair video of the drain to demonstrate to customers how round, scale-free pipes appear in a video. A pre and post repair video will really show the customer what they paid for. (I'm a hydrogeologist and this is performed for clients when rehabilitating old wells. It really makes an impact.) Overall, I am really happy with the repairs performed by Parker & Sons. I would recommend Parker & Sons to friends and family and would definitely use them again. read more

We're new to AZ and decided to get a quote for whole-house water softening and filtering, as well as an RO system. Parker and Sons gave us the most expensive quote by far, out of 3 companies we chose - $6,800, versus around $2,500 for both of the other 2 companies that quoted us! Not to mention that the models they install, which the installer tried to convince us were somehow higher quality and unique to Parker and Sons, are the same units which are used by almost every water softener company in the valley! Talk about a scam - paying nearly 3x the price for basically the same equipment. Parker and Sons also massively over-quoted family members or ours, for some basic electrical work (fortunately they didn't accept the quote). The other two companies which quoted us, when they heard about Parker and Sons, basically rolled their eyes and said "Oh, THOSE guys....". They seem to have that reputation in the industry. Whatever you do, make sure you get SEVERAL quotes and don't just accept what Parker and Sons tell you! Chances are, if you go with them, you'll be massively overcharged for any work they do. read more

First, let me say that the P&S techs have always been friendly, professional, and thorough in determining the problem. In fact, all the techs have been great, and Gerardo was no exception when he responded to a call for service when my AC/heat pump began making clunking noises. Gerardo not only put up with me asking a lot of questions, he practically took the unit apart trying to figure out what was making the noise until the problem was resolved. I do have an issue with the P&S office staff, however. There have been a few times when I've been given a window of time to expect a service call and no one has shown up. I understand that service calls can run longer than expected, especially in the Arizona summers, and if service has to be rescheduled that's not usually a problem. But the incident on May 19th was just ridiculous. I began hearing the noises on May 18th, and called P&S (I have a service contract with them). The gentleman I spoke to said that it would be the next day between 8 am and 7 pm. That was fine. I didn't expect anyone to come out on such short notice. I waited all day in the heat on the 19th, right up until about 6:30 pm, and when I had not heard anything from the office or the AC tech, I called the office and spoke to a young woman. She informed me that no one would be coming to my house that night because they didn't have a 32 ft. ladder to get to the AC unit on the roof of my two story house. I told her that I did not own a two story house, that it was a one story with a heat pump in a hallway closet. I confirmed my address, but she didn't believed me and continued to insist I owned a two story house. Finally she said she was going to check and put me on hold. At that point I knew she was going to Google my address to see if I was telling the truth. When she came back on the line she said yes, she did look up my property and I did indeed own a one story house at that address. I found the whole exchange very insulting, given that I know what type of house I own. Also, if she really thought I had a two story house and they couldn't service the AC on the roof that day, was someone even going to call me about it? Since I have been a customer P&S for more than a decade, she or someone in the office should have been able to find out what kind of house I have. Yet somehow someone completely screwed up my information, which she finally admitted. Again, I understand that the person who answers the phone must confirm that the address hasn't changed and ask the questions they need answered, but this incident just annoyed me. read more

Right now, my review is: NO. DONT USE THEM. That can however change if they actually finish the work that I'm paying a $24k loan for. We are paying for a complete HVAC overhaul. The loan and services documents were signed in April. We were told that the AC was priority back in April, but the rest of the work would have to be scheduled out to August do to "supply-chain" issues. We were (relunctantly) fine with that. However it's been 5 weeks and every other day contacting them to have NO ONE call myself or my husband back. I'm currently seaking legal counsel to further this to a lawsuit if need be. read more

Tried to scam me into buying a new unit and warranty for 15k. They had a technician come in and say he had a few ideas on what could be wrong with the unit, but I'd have to sign off on having the cost to part it out could go up to 10k. After I declined he tried to sell me a 15k warranty. My air handler was only 4 years old and the unit outside was only 7 years. After getting a new company to come in, they said someone previously put things in backwards and left all the wires unplugged. It ended up being a fuse that was blown, which was not a lot of money to fix. I tried calling Parker's and Sons many times to let them know their technician left my unit completely taken apart, and have yet to hear back. This company is such a scam. read more

The price to change 2 valves was $715, way too much! They turned our water off, so my husband felt like he had to pay this price to get our water back on; My husband was home, otherwise I would have used someone else with a Reasonable price, they charged us $600 in labor and $100 for the two valves. That's like half a mortgage payment, very overpriced, even if they would've charge me $100 for labor and the cost of two valves, this would've been more reasonable. I hope the company sees my post and gives me a partial refund, if they do, I will write another review otherwise, who has $715, to change two valves. I am giving two stars because they came out same day, and I appreciate that. But they wanted to charge over $2,400 for a water heater replacement with a 10 year warranty that u could get at hone depot for $500 to self instal. We called another plumber not confident to do it ourselves and they quoted $700 for the same job. There is no reasonable reason their prices are so high. And looking at the reviews it seems they price gouge a lot hoping your desperate to do it that day and pay thousands to much. If you gonna have them out, they can diagnose the problem but do your research before spending unneeded money. read more

Been using Parker and Sons for several years now for my rental home in Mesa. They have been great to deal with. I definitely recommend them.

My husband and I have been with Parker and Sons since 2018 when we purchased our home. We knew they were a little more pricey, but we wanted to continue with the line of the unit. If that is why you are waiting, go ahead and make the switch. We had our original scheduled maintenance check moved because the tech could not make it. Understandable, but not the best. so the date is changed and two techs come out, one by the name of Omar, and the other was a trainee. Very quickly it was confirmed that we needed 2 pound of refrigerant and was also recommended a surge protector and a compressor assistant? I apologize, I may have the name wrong. We have two pieces to our unit (outside and attic), and we had some Christmas stuff blocking our attic. That was totally our fault. my husband asked how long it would take to add the refrigerant and Omar told him 45 minutes, but there was need to come home, they just wouldn't check that part of the unit. Well, we did not want to face problems in the future so my husband came home. It was 25 minutes later and they were quickly out the door, beating my husband by 5 minutes. My husband called twice and wanted to speak to a manager, we were given the names of Dave and Alice, no one contacted him. He called back later in the evening and was able to get a reschedule for Monday. Awesome. Yesterday, Alfred came and redid the whole inspection, great right? Not so much, our coil in the upstairs unit had corrosion and needed to be replaced. He also told me that Lennox had a lawsuit for our model and we should go join the lawsuit. Meanwhile he would charge us almost 4k for the new coil. Feeling hot about the whole thing, I called Lennox and asked for more information. The lawsuits were concluded in 2015, my part was under a 10 year warranty, AND if I had yearly maintenance, this wouldn't be a problem. Well, guess what, I did! I called back P&S and Heather S informed us that coil cleaning was a separate charge. oh really? Was it ever suggested to us? Suggestions are supposed to be put in the notes. Well there was one rinsing in 2021 and that was it. No suggestions or anything and we have been with them since 2018. I asked Heather why the corrosion happened if this is being maintained? She said I would have to ask Alfred when he came to replace it! No thanks, let's call Alfred now. He let me know it just happens. I try to call Heather S back, no response at all. Dan lets me know someone will get back to me. In the meantime, I call Lennox back, get the owner's manual and care and maintenance manual. Corrosion does not just happen. In the meantime, I call back again after not talking to anyone for a few hours and was told again, a manager would contact me. Nope. My husband comes home, he calls while on speaker and speaks to the same people I do. We speak to Heather S again who told me I actually spoke to Heather N. We finally ask to speak to a manager and we are given three different times that we might have a manager call us. Those times came and went. We called another company (Semper Fi) who quick, effiecient, polite, and so much more affordable. I then found out they called my husband while I was calling, we both canceled, let the other company buy us out, and was still promised to speak to a manager, which has yet to happen. TLDR; their prices stink, customer service is awful, and techs are very incosistent. read more

As a recently let go parker and sons employee, i'd like to take the opportunity to share some insight about how the company runs their "Business" Parker and sons is not a Mom and Pop shop anymore, it's corporately owned with share holders. Meaning if you're used to the feeling and attention from a small shop parker and sons doesn't offer it. When you dial in, no matter what button you press, you get a generic queue and get a rep that's trained in all departments but not specialized in that department. For example, if you dial the number for hvac, it'll be in the same queue as someone dialing in for plumbing. Next, the reps that you speak to's sole purpose is to get a tech to your door, they get paid based on how many appointments they set for you, and get commission based off of it. They also try hard to build value in their PFP or parker family plan, which is a complete scam, 13.99/mo or 153.89 per year, gets 2 AC visits and 10% off services. All the techs do, is jack up the price 10% only to discount it for members. you don't get any actual savings. Lastly, all of their departments over charge. When i was a rep working at the call center, our number one complaint was pricing. our tech's pricing is outrageous, double even triple charging for basic things. We use a system called Service Titan, and a dialer called Dialpad, a program that scalps your number and tells us whether or not your an existing customer and or a member. Based on this information we formulate a sales pitch to offer you services you either haven't used yet or if you're brand new all of our different trades. Most notably the solar department, which isn't even an in house department, it's a 3rd party contractor and installer. Last but not least. Their #1 in Arizona for however many years is a complete lie. Yes they technically are #1 by votes but the majority of votes, come from employee's families, they hold contests every year when voting time comes around and offer cash prizes to employee's families who votes the most. It's not truly won from the customers. Overall, id find a smaller shop that does things cheaper and has a better handle on things, these guys will do everything to squeeze every last penny out of you before they give you any kind of breathing room. I can't figure out why the reviews here on Parker & Sons are mixed. I've had them install systems on 4 homes, including one project with 3 zones and high end Lennox variable speed units. They were super professional and cost competitive on all the jobs. This week, they helped me put vibraitopn isolators on a unit in a condo project where the unit owner below our condenser was complaining about vibrations. The isolator unit worked great, and the Parker & Sons job superintendent was brilliant in figuring out how to do the installation and fine tuning. read more

I went through Home Depot, and they contract with Parker and Sons. The salesperson came out on a Wednesday. Reviewed our options, got financing, and all was installed by Thursday evening (24 hours from sales meeting to completed install!) While they were slightly more expensive than other quotes, I received a lifetime warranty, and they did a phenomenal job. They even arranged to have insulation added to my attic and have a crew come out and fix the drywall they had to remove to fit the air handler into my attic. read more

AC Tech Ruben was very professional and knowledgeable. Ruben shared all information during each inspection of the air handler and condensing unit. It was great conversing mechanical knowledge with Ruben, as I was formally in the industry.
