Had a tech here for electrical issue. He could not find the problem, charged us for his service and gave us a quote to rewire the whole house rather than find the real issue. Scheduled twice for another tech to come out and both times they were a no show. The third time they wanted to schedule I said it had to be first in the morning, they agreed. Later the morning of that appt I got a call that they were running late. I thought we were supposed to be first. I thanked them for calling and told them not to reschedule. Wish I never wasted my time on these guys. I called them to come do a check up on my AC before I turned it on for the season. Understandably, by early April they were already getting busy ahead of the summer season and I had to wait 3 weeks for the earliest appointment. The day of the appointment comes and after waiting 3 weeks and moving my schedule around to make sure I'd be home for when the technician came by, just an hour into the service window I get a text that says due to a high number of emergency calls they'll need to cancel and reschedule my appointment. Having an appointment scheduled 3 weeks in advance get canceled isn't ideal, but I understand things come up. When I called the provided number to reschedule, the tone at first was apologetic, as the rep offered to make my membership (that I regretfully paid $153 for) free. Things got a little less apologetic when she told me the soonest availability for a rescheduled appointment was another 3 weeks out. You'd think when you fail to honor an appointment made 3 weeks in advance you'd move some things around so the customer doesn't have to wait another 3 weeks due to your poor planning. I asked if there was anything sooner than 3 weeks out and after a brief hold she told me they could move stuff around and come 4 days later. Still not ideal, as I'd made the original appointment 3 weeks in advance, but figuring this was the best I was going to get I agreed to the new timeframe. Before getting off the phone I asked about the details of the free membership that was mentioned earlier. I was shocked to hear the rep tell me the because I was accommodated 4 days after the canceled appointment, the free membership was off the table. So basically I schedule service 3 weeks in advance, you fail to honor that service, you reschedule for 4 days later (which also may or may not have been honored as I'm willing to bet this isn't their first time failing to live up to their commitments) and my consolation is nothing. The lack of customer service was pretty appalling so I opted to cancel my service altogether and the rep said she would initiate a refund. I've come to find out refunds at this company aren't like Costco returns where you'll see the pending refund in your bank account as you walk out of the store. Not seeing anything pending I called back the next day and was told it would take 7-10 business days to process and receive my refund. 7-10 business days come and go without even a pending refund showing up. I call back and was told the refund had just been approved and would take 7-10 business days to process and receive my return. Fortunately, one of the previous customer service reps offered to send me a nonstandard email confirmation of my refund and the timeframe in which I should receive it, and after the second "check's in the mail" excuse I used that email to send over to my bank to dispute the charge on my card. That email will make it an easy case and I'll get my money back right away instead of having to babysit these guys incase they hope I just forget about it. Word to the wise, avoid Parker and Sons altogether. There are enough AC service providers in the valley (with better than 3 stars on Yelp) that we don't need to be giving our business to companies that don't value their customers. read more

Called for what I expected to be a warranty repair on a hot water heater. They wouldn't give an answer as to whether it was covered, over the phone, and instead said they could have a guy at my house this same morning. He showed up in less than 10 min. and proceeded to tell me he needed to replace the 2 heating elements and a valve, but he wouldn't charge for the valve. Watch for these sales tactics, kiddies. I still thought it was covered at this point, until he tried to give me something for free. Long story short, they are ridiculously priced. They charged me $440. I found the same parts at HD that were replaced by them, for $35. I could have purchased an entirely new hot water heater for what they charged doing a 5 min job. Now for the lesson for you all, save $400 and buy the parts at HD and watch a 5 min youtube video on how to do it. Right now, my review is: NO. DONT USE THEM. That can however change if they actually finish the work that I'm paying a $24k loan for. We are paying for a complete HVAC overhaul. The loan and services documents were signed in April. We were told that the AC was priority back in April, but the rest of the work would have to be scheduled out to August do to "supply-chain" issues. We were (relunctantly) fine with that. Charges me $1300 for a fan moter on one of my units on one of my units. Air did not flow as it should to tech. said I need to replace the fan blades. Got an OEM fan blade and it did not make a bit of difference. Tech came out and replaced with a lesser quality fan OEM unit. Still not flowing air correctly. In July 2013, Parker & Sons replaced my air conditioner with a 5 ton day and night unit, removed & capped off the old evap cooler, added a return air handler in an add-on room, and blew 14 inches of insulation into my attic. My utility bill was cut in half!! I am still using their semi yearly check up plan. I like the confidence knowing they've checked it out and they have found a couple small problems that were repaired before they were evident to me. They are always prompt, professional and courteous. We're new to AZ and decided to get a quote for whole-house water softening and filtering, as well as an RO system. Parker and Sons gave us the most expensive quote by far, out of 3 companies we chose - $6,800, versus around $2,500 for both of the other 2 companies that quoted us! Not to mention that the models they install, which the installer tried to convince us were somehow higher quality and unique to Parker and Sons, are the same units which are used by almost every water softener company in the valley! Talk about a scam - paying nearly 3x the price for basically the same equipment. Parker and Sons also massively over-quoted family members or ours, for some basic electrical work (fortunately they didn't accept the quote). The other two companies which quoted us, when they heard about Parker and Sons, basically rolled their eyes and said "Oh, THOSE guys....". They seem to have that reputation in the industry. Whatever you do, make sure you get SEVERAL quotes and don't just accept what Parker and Sons tell you! Chances are, if you go with them, you'll be massively overcharged for any work they do. read more

STAY AWAY! We got suckered into joining their "membership" at $10 a month - which great, we needed work done and utilized them. Then we found that their prices were WAY above other companies. We have tried to cancel our membership and here we are 3 months later - we are still getting charged monthly after routinely calling to cancel our membership. How hard can it be to cancel a membership? We are now going to have to file a compliant with the Attorney General and BBB for being routinely charged for a service we have tried to cancel numerous times. read more

I've got to share my experience, Even if Parker and Sons were the last company on the PLANET , I still wouldn't call them. I had an electrical problem at my meter box that was causing the Power in my home to keep shutting down power about 1/2 of my home and then come back on , The power company came out and advised that I needed an electrician to fix it. I was advised to be careful, some company's will gauge you. I called Parker and Sons, ....attn: spoiler alert ‼ "worst company I've ever encountered". I was told that they would need to tear up my patio, which just had new pavers and grass, dig up the old electrical panel and replace it. I had An approved credit app to pay the amount over time. Why a credit app? They quoted me me over $12,000 dollars. I completed the app for about $15,500 to include (optional) changing out a breaker inside the home because it didn't trip any breakers when the electrical was going crazy. they were to start the next day and be done in about 10-11 hours. I goggled the new parts as best I could and saw the parts ran approx $800, they said 3 guys would be doing the work...even paying $100 an hour labor x 3...that's only $3,000 for 10 hours. Where's the $15,000?? I cancelled the 7am start late the nite before. They called the next morning and I told them it was crazy after my gooogle searches. They tried to negotialye, I countered with $7,000, in hindsight, still ripoff, the boss relayed, the new electrical panel alone cost them $4,000....LIE!! End of story....I called another electrician who was highly recommended, I didn't get an immediate response initially, which is why I called Parker and sons. That electricIan had me send him a could pics, came out a fixed it a day later. The repair he made was the same repair I asked Parker and Sons if it could be done. They said they searched heaven and earth (para phrase) and couldn't find the parts. For the record. It was a clip that got scraped annd cleaned and put back. It took about 30 minutes and I was billed $185. That was just for the outside panel. Isn't that crazy!! $12,000 vs $185. Didn't tear up my patio or be totally gouged. Wouldn't accept the stupid $7,000 negotiation I offered. Beware..Beware. I cringe each time I see their commercial stating how wonderful they are. Ive been so careful not to lie or embellish so I'm not sued for defamation. My account is correct and true. This occurred last month, first part of March 2023. Thank you. I can let this go know, that I've posted this. I was having such a tough time letting it go, too many vulnerable people. I'm an Air Force vet, not naive, alert to scams. I have mixed feelings. Starting with the good, I had a shower handle that needed a new cartridge. I had googled how to do it, looked simple, but I generally fail when I try so I opted to call Parker and sons. I called at 10:30-11 am and they were here by 2:30. Good. The bad, they would not quote pricing until they arrived and for a 15 minute job they charged me $527. Bad. Also, when I set the appointment the girl on the phone said they respected covid and cleanliness policies and would show up with a mask as well as shoe coverings. I want to thank Parker & Sons for inspiring me to learn HVAC for myself - I found a free online course that teaches HVAC and even provides 608 certification to handle refrigerant. I was quoted $409 for a "Level 2" cleaning of my condenser coil. Nope. I bought a $20 can of professional strength HVAC coil cleaner from Amazon, emptied the can onto the inside of my condenser coils, rinsed it off, and now the coils look brand new. Also, charging your customers $191 per LB for R410A refrigerant should be illegal. I had work done with another HVAC service a couple of years ago and they charged me a little more than that amount for FIVE LBs of refrigerant. We are doing some kitchen remodeling which included new countertops and a new sink. I hired Parker & Sons to disconnect the old sink and reconnect the new one. Josh came and did the disconnect. He was professional, communicative and explained the process and the pricing. Since he wasn't going to be able to do the reconnect a couple days later, he made sure to tell Kevin, the guy who put it all back together, what to expect and what was needed. Kevin did great work too. He needed to stop and go get some parts since my new sink drain was offset, and he did this in a very timely manner. He was also very professional, nice to talk to and helped me understand some intricacies on my new faucets. All in all, a great experience all around. I'm not one to write reviews, but people need to beware of this company. We had a water softener unit put in by them. The were nice enough and seemed to know what they were talking about, but it's just a sales act. Since they installed the unit, we've had extremely low water pressure. They've sent 4 technicians out to "fix" it by cranking up our water pressure regulator to 90 psi (shouldn't be above 65 for safety of the pipes). When I asked about why they kept doing it they said the regulator must be broken and quoted us $699 to fix it. We had another company out that not only fixed the regulator for $150 but notified us that Parker and Sons didn't program our softener correctly and it wasn't even working! Not only that, but they plumbed the softener before our landscaping, meaning when the water softener were watering our plants with salt water! Great way to kill a yard. On top of this, they put some very unnecessary piping through our patio to drain the softener which multiple plumbing companies have told us was not needed at all. We also had them look at our HVAC unit as it was making a lot of noise and our master doesn't get great airflow. Their technician did not go into the he attic to look at anything, quoted us $6700 for new insulation and duct work and left. Another company took the time to figure out the issue and went into the attic, explained what was wrong and is going to fix it for $2k. What I've learned is that this company has unqualified technicians who look to up charge their crappy service. Don't go with them, please. We're 1 month into having them work with us and we're still dealing with the issues they caused. read more

I'll start with: I would give 5-stars if I weren't charged the service fee 2x for a call, then a re-call. The first "service" was to tell me that my A/C was iced-over and he couldn't do anything, the 2nd service was completed, and I'm a happy customer. Tips from 1st repairman, Bill, that can save you a spare service fee / diagnostic charge: If your filter is too dirty, or you are low on freon, it can cause your coils and/or compressor line to ice-over. Nobody can help you until you shut off your unit (you can leave the fan running) - and the ice completely thaws. - We took the filter completely out and it still iced-over. My filter was dirty and needed to be changed, no doubt about it, but with no filter, and it still iced-up, needed more freon. Bill was nice on Saturday night around 10:30-ish - Emergency call with A/C out - baby in-house. Unfortunately my attic-unit coils were iced over and the line to the compressor was also iced over so much he couldn't do anything. Luckily that was the night the storm rolled through, and the temperature dropped pretty significantly. The ice melted around 3:00 am or so, and I was able to get a little cool air in the house. Sunday I had to toggle the unit on and off because the ice kept returning. Sean came over on Sunday night, around 9:30-ish, he too was awesome. Says he found a reading of "low Superheat" - TBH I'm not sure exactly what that means - I think he explained it to me, but I had my hands full of other chores. Sean found the blower wheel (likely never cleaned in 20 years) to be restricted due to the dirt. Also found a bad capacitor reading at less than half capacity (half-power?). We feel our A/C is blowing air harder than ever before, the system hasn't iced-over since. It was pricey, luckily covered with my home warranty. PM me if you would like to know more. Edit: Parker & Sons reached out to me to confirm that the 1st service fee should have been returned since I did have a service completed on a re-call (they may have other stipulations - please confirm with Parker & Sons for their requirements). The employees at Parker & Sons have been amazing to work with. Timing has been impeccable and the quality of work perfect. I had some pretty major work completed at the end of 2020 which started off with a water main break, UGH, bad luck; however, Parker & Sons quickly identified the problem and fixed it - now I am set for 25 years with my warranty. Since the water main work went so well I decided to call them back to install a new water heater. Dave rocked that job. Dave had a few recommendations to help me maintain my heater and all water valves in my house. Once I figured out that most valves were stuck shut I decided for the sake of me and my wife's health, as well as the health of our plumbing system that we would get a water softener and R.O. system. WOW! Our water is the best. I have only used this fine organization for plumbing related issues/upgrades, but as a result of my experience they will now get my AC business too. They came out in the dark to get it temporarily running so we didn't have to go to a hotel, and then got us a new unit installed the very next day! They were great to work with, gave options for different priced units and offered a payment plan as well. I felt very well taken care of and since then they have made seasonal maintenance visits to make sure all is running smoothly. Recently our water heater flooded the garage- so again I called Parker and sons and they were there within an hour, the tech worked into the night to get a new water heater installed. My A/C worked fine but started making a slight noise which had me worried. I had Parker & Sons come out and I was immediately told MOLD was found and a new unit was suggested at 14-20k. I was not ready to move forward with such a big expense without more research. Six months later the noise became louder so I had a different company out. They took one look and said you need the motor replaced and a good cleaning and you have an otherwise great unit that should last you several more years....so that's what they did. 2 hrs later it was working and sounding like new. The "black mold" that the Parker & Sons tech supposedly saw was just black dog hair from our Rottweiler. When you pay over 100 bucks for a service call, it would be nice for them to actually make an effort to find out what the problem is. He didn't even get close enough to the unit to see what he thought was mold was not....unless it was just a scare word? Anyway, the new company said to come to them in the future whenever we're ready for a new unit and they'd get us the exact same model we have (which we love) for 7k. But they wanted to charge over $2,400 for a water heater replacement with a 10 year warranty that u could get at hone depot for $500 to self instal. We called another plumber not confident to do it ourselves and they quoted $700 for the same job. There is no reasonable reason their prices are so high. And looking at the reviews it seems they price gouge a lot hoping your desperate to do it that day and pay thousands to much. We had our entire breaker panel replaced. All 3 electricians we dealt with were very nice and pleasant to deal with, very respectful. I liked them a lot. The work of the electrician who did the breaker box replacement was overall very good. The wiring of the panel looks great, very clean and overall well done. However, when he was finished, our air conditioning unit would not turn on. He took a few measurements from the breaker panel, said that it was getting the voltage it needed, and more or less implied that it must be a problem with the air conditioning unit. Now, mind you, I told him the unit was 2 1/2 years old, had never had any problems, and had been working perfectly up to the point when my power was switched off earlier in the day to replace the breaker box. He said he didn't know anything about AC units, called the Parker and Sons office to have an AC repairman come out, and left. Four hours later, at about 6pm, an AC repairman arrived, climbed on the roof, said the power applied to the unit was incorrect (I believe the neutral leg was hot), and called the office to send out an electrician. Mind you, the high temperature was 109° and by 6 PM, the temperature in my home was 94°. Around 8:30 PM, an electrician arrived, looked at the panel, took a couple measurements, swapped two cables, and the AC unit kicked on immediately. It took him literally about five minutes. In total, I went 13+ hours during the daytime without air conditioning in peak summer heat. Now, everyone makes mistakes. The problem was not that the original electrician made a wiring mistake (that's very easy to do), but that when there was an obvious problem, he didn't take the time to thoroughly check his work, and instead said it was a problem with the AC unit and left, despite the fact that I told him the AC unit had been fine only six hours prior. That's really, really, really bad. I know it's hot out, I'm sure he was hungry and needed a break, but that mistake can't happen the way it played out. It also set off a chain reaction of drama on my end, having to track down warranty information with someone on vacation that didn't have phone reception, lots of phone calls, etc. I'll spare you the details, but it was a major pain in the butt on my end, besides the fact that I didn't have air-conditioning when I needed it most. All that said, from a company perspective, Parker and Sons handled it well. They got the necessary people to my home to look at everything as quickly as they could, reasonably speaking. They didn't try to charge me for anything extra either. So the company handled it well, but their electrician just made a silly mistake, and I was the one that had to pay for it, figuratively. So, the quality of the work and the company service overall was very good: great communication, all the coordination with the power company and the city went off rather smoothly. I didn't have to do any of that. From that perspective, the rating is 5 stars. However, one poor and hasty decision by the electrician in response to a simple problem soured the whole experience for me in a major way (1 star). Two days later, the company reached out to me, apologized and offered to take money off the final total due to their mistake and my inconvenience. That's a proper response and says a lot about the company. In light of that, I would do business with them again. read more

Here we are at the end of April and the A/C is not working. Again!!! That's about a year since the prior required service. And keep in mind, we in AZ don't run our air conditioner all year. I can't remember EVER needing to have service done annually in order for the A/C to function normally or efficiently. WTH happened?! I can only guess the culprit is Parker & Sons. If you don't sign up and pay for their annual service maintenance program they seem to fix ya this way. Kinda ridiculous. You have officially lost our business. I have been a member of their maintenance program for a year for $11 a month, e huh is a good value. However every time they come out they recommend to sell me something. If it's broke or I need it I'll pay to have it fixed. I did find out that the technicians make commission which is why they are so eager to offer fixes or "needed" upgrades to your system. They tried to charge me $800 to add refrigerant (they told me I needed ) and install a shut off switch to prevent flooding in my attic. I got a second quote where the company doesn't go off of commission and they told me I did not need any refrigerant ( and their cost If I did was $300 less than Parker) and the shut off switch was 1/2 the price to install. Service guys seem very nice and professional. But prices are astronomical! Shop around before dealing with them. They quoted us $2800 to have a new water heater installed. We ended up buying one on our own but Parker did the install for $1000 for about 2 hours of work. They we were informed that we need a new pressure tank for the top of the heater. The guy quoted us $522 more for a part that costs between 40 and 60 bucks and maybe one hour of labor. Bottom line as you can see is that Parker is charging the equivalent of about $450 an hour for labor or really inflating the prices of parts. read more

I can't figure out why the reviews here on Parker & Sons are mixed. I've had them install systems on 4 homes, including one project with 3 zones and high end Lennox variable speed units. They were super professional and cost competitive on all the jobs. This week, they helped me put vibraitopn isolators on a unit in a condo project where the unit owner below our condenser was complaining about vibrations. The isolator unit worked great, and the Parker & Sons job superintendent was brilliant in figuring out how to do the installation and fine tuning. read more

I bought a new HVAC system from Parker & Sons in Dec 2023 and found that buying from them was the right choice. Kellie Maruska, the Support Specialist I worked with, was very helpful and worked hard to find the best system for my needs at a reasonable price, which included a one-year parts and labor warranty. Recently, a part had to be replaced due to an electrical issue and, because the repair was needed urgently and the part was on order, they took the part from a new unit still in the warehouse and fixed the issue the next day (a Saturday) at no cost for parts labor or to make a special trip from Tucson to Hereford just for my repair. I have never received such stellar service and absolutely recommend Parker and Sons for HVAC repairs and sales. I will definitely be calling on Parker & Sons for all my HVAC needs. read more
