I was visiting Long Beach last weekend and at Parkers Lighthouse restaurant. The restaurant has a view of the harbor. Many tables are right next to a window. There is also a patio seating area, but it was a cloudy, chilly day when I ate there so I didn't sit outdoors even though it would have been so nice on a warm sunny day. I ordered a clam chowder, which was nice and warm and delicious with lots of clams. For my lunch, I ordered a seafood linguine, which was loaded with clams, fish, and shrimp with a pesto sauce that was absolutely delicious. Service was wonderful. My waiter brought bread and waiter right away. He took my order quickly and the food came out quickly. He was friendly, attentive, but not overly talkative. read more

The view is always enjoyable and the food, always finger licking food, love their chilean sea bass but this day, I only had an appetizer and dessert. I had their lobster and shrimp taquitos and their warm butter cake... The taquitos were ehh ok, they were better years ago, maybe because the price point was different I enjoyed them more lol and as for the butter cake, it was also just ok, I'm comparing it to my fave from CPK, strawberries on butter cake was a good touch. Managers and service here are poor for a restaurant that is supposed to be a bit nicer. Came here on new years eve to grab some drinks and apps with friends visiting from out of state. It was busy and we understood that. It was raining pretty steadily all through that night. They take us to be seated and put us outside on the covered patio, but right on the edge, where the patio cover stops. They were using a table umbrella to cover the other half of our table that was not under the fixed patio cover. This would be fine, however due to the constant rain the umbrella was constantly shedding water onto our table and us. This was ok.. we knew it was raining and all had rain jackets on. We tried to adjust the umbrella and scoot in more but continued to be doused in water. After we were there for 20 minutes, a party next to us left that was fully under the patio cover. A manager, middle aged woman with black hair. was coming over to help bus the table, so we took the oppurtunity to politely ask if it was possible to switch tables explaining how the umbrella is constantly shedding water onto our us, where we were pretty soaked at this point. She glanced at us after we asked, turned her back and said "No" in a rude voice and continued working on her table. We asked about the other two tables at the other end of the patio that were open, and this time she didnt even acknowledge us at all and kept her back turned completely ignoring us. She 100% heard us as well. We couldnt believe how rude she was so of course we left shortly after. Just a forewarning if you are looking for a place for a nice dinner or drinks, dont pay for a higher price tag here to be treated extremely poorly by the staff. read more

I've been coming to Parker's Lighthouse since I was a kid and I haven't been in years. Today I decided to come with my godmother and catch up. We had the pleasure of having Travis as our server on the patio and he was a Libra's delight! He did such a great job customizing a salad for my godmom(she's picky) lol. His energy was 10 out of 10 the entire time and I can't wait to come back and sit in his section!The hostess also did a great job lowering the umbrellas so we had as much sun as possible, loved the view. read more

I just love this place. The location is great with a beautiful view of the harbor. We have dined inside and outside. The wife prefers inside and I prefer outside. The difference being that there are begging stray cats outside that I find cute but she finds annoying. The service is always good and the servers are competent and friendly. We have always enjoyed our time at Parker's Lighthouse. Good solid seafood fare with solid accompaniments. The sea scallops and the grilled salmon are some of our favorites. I tried the roasted cauliflower steak and was pleasantly surprised. Also, give the lobster and shrimp taquitos a try. This is truly one of our go to places when in the Long Beach area and we go out of our way to make this a destination. read more

I've been to Parker's a few times through the years and I wanna say there's a certain charm to the place. When you walk into the place you are surrounded by history of Long Beach coast. Everywhere you look is is decorated with photographs of what Long Beach used to look like. The restaurant itself is situated right by the shore so there is views no matter if you are sitting inside or outside. The building is in the shape of a lighthouse surrounded by large windows letting natural light stream through the interior. You really come here for the view and for the service. The food is just alright. It's not good that it jumps out at you but it's not bad either. It's priced a little on the high side but I think it's because of the location it's at. read more

Loved this place for Thanksgiving. Great help from entry staff in seat selection for 5 adults plus a 1 year old. Outside overlooking water with nice shade from umbrella. Flawless and friendly service from Ben. Great setting on water with Queen Mary across the channel. Very solid turkey stuffing green beans cranberry gravy for 2. My sister who isn't even a big sushi person loved it. Rib eye - Cooked to perfection. Juicy and tender. The asparagus and mashed potatoes were a perfect pairing. Salmon - This was my favorite. The salmon was hearty yet still melted in your mouth. I did not want to share. We ordered both the butter cake and tart. Butter cake was very good but the tart was hands down the winner. Our server, Henry P was very attentive and went above and beyond his job responsibilities when he noticed an open area on my arm and returned with a cleanser and band aid. My boyfriend has taken me here on my bday and recently for Valentine's Day and both times I had an AMAZING time. The food is always on point , and service is amazing ! The view is pretty too. Especially on the top floor which is the Queen's View . On Valentines's Day, they had a set menu for $97 per person and let me tell you , it was ALOT of food . I was a little disappointed that the regular menu wasn't available because I wanted to order the seafood tower, but I guess I'll have to come back another time. Your faithful Yelp correspondent and his gorgeous bride visited Long Beach's scenic Shoreline Village and, being a big fan of Guy Fieri and his Triple D's and Triple G's franchise shows on the Food Network, decided to visit Parker's Lighthouse, where the goateed chef worked in the nineties. For views and ambience, we accord Parker's Lighthouse five stars. We were seated in a booth on the second (mid) level and could easily bask in sapphire as the ocean and beautiful Southern California summer day gleamed in 360 degrees all around us. The service that our server Georgia delivered was excellent- She kept our drinks refilled and patiently answered our questions regarding the available tap beers and seafood selections. She clearly earned the nice tip we left for her. I have to deduct a couple stars, though, because the taste of the food does not warrant Parker's Lighthouse sky high prices and the Scrooge-sized portions wouldn't satiate a Lilliputian, let alone adults with healthy but not outsized appetites. We started with Escorpion Negro Dark Ale, a chocolaty, malty tap beer whose pleasureful drinking experience belies its downright intimidating ("Escorpion" means -you guessed it- scorpion in English) name. Would've gladly kicked off our meal with a starter or perhaps a duo of Caesar Salads with grilled chicken but didn't feel like forking over a Grant ($50) for two underwhelming salads. My bride is far more adventurous than I am when it comes to eating seafood- So she happily ordered the Mixed Grill, featuring a mesquite-grilled "Catch of the Day" (swordfish), accompanied by a skewer of shrimp and scallops and a crab cake along with a small side of steamed veggies and fingerling potatoes. While I secretly cringed when she bathed her entire plate in generous squirts of "Cholulo" hot sauce, she pronounced the food "good but I'm still hungry" after she'd polished off the 11 or 12 bites of grilled fish and vegetables. I'd customarily order a steak at an establishment like this but blanched at the notion of paying $62 for a 16oz bone-in Rib Eye that you just know is two-thirds weight bone! A 7 oz Filet Mignon that's slightly smaller than a half-pound burger was equally off-putting. So-- Not in the mood for chicken, I reluctantly ordered the 1/2 pound Cheese Bread Burger for $24, cooked medium rare and accompanied by Kennebec French Fries. My burger was unevenly cooked- Parts of it bloody red, parts medium. But my chief complaint was that it's served on two hulking leviathans of cheesebread. The bread to meat ratio is at least 2:1 (and possibly 3:1!) and the greasy, garlicky taste of the cheese bread completely dominates both the mouth feel and taste profile of your burger! My fries? Arrived lukewarm and cooled to room temperature in under five minutes. I ended up boxing it up for takeout after my third or fourth bite, grossly underwhelmed and frankly annoyed by my expensive brush with a Four Seasons priced burger with AM PM caliber taste!! $108 including tax and tip for one beer, a smallish plate of fish and veggies and three bites of a poorly cooked burger swimming in massive pieces of cheese bread is a little too much for a mid-day lunch. For OUR money and dining experience, the similarly themed Fog Harbor Seafood restaurant in San Francisco's Pier 41 is a much more satisfying dining experience. Alas, the date wasn't a complete loss! Leti and I walked the charming Shoreline Village after our meal, amassing nearly 8,000 steps as we took in all of the majestic sights and salty, marine air. read more

I see mixed reviews but I thought this was a pretty nice restaurant. My only complaint was about small portion sizes. The Salmon dish I ordered only had four or five tiny pieces of link potatoes on a side with the protein. I ended up stealing french fries from my friends' kids plates and still left hungry afterwards. This is the kind of place you want to invite friends to, order a tasty cuisine and sit outside on the beautiful patio while enjoying fine wine while observing beautiful sunset, amazing harbor with Queen Mary in the distance. I was a little apprehensive about trying it given the reviews. It ended up being solid, likely due in part to knowing what to order given all the reviews I read. I really enjoyed the 21 seed cucumber spicy margarita and the one cold junmei sake they have by the glass. The clam pot appetizer was great but should have come with bread and spoons, the lobster and shrimp taquitos were pretty good, and the calamari was nicely fried. I enjoyed my ahi tuna steak seared on the outside with a sesame crust though it was weirdly cut and a bit hacked frankly and the mushroom bok Choy that came with the dish was a bit bland I did like the pickled cucumber seaweed and carrot salad side though. Service was fine. The outside deck is great for a fall evening and there are high glass walls and heat lamps to keep it toasty. My main complaint about this place is the price point. Everything is 25 to 33 percent higher than it should be, not surprising given the location and sort of tourist trap vibe. read more

For appetizers we got the calm chowder-nice chunks of clams, diced potatoes, and clams however it could ease up on the cilantro toppings. Can't go wrong with the calamari-crispy and just enough balance if the batter and meat. I shared the sirloin steak with my mom and it was the perfect meal size for us. The steak was worth waiting for! Grilled to perfection, juicy, seasoned well. It also comes with potatoes and asparagus. Staff was great and attentive! He was very nice to take photos of us eating as well. I take one star off just because we waited about over 20-30 mins after our apps. All together we were at the restaurant for 2 hours.
