Unfortunately, this is a one and done! We drove from Bowie to pick up an order for $82.00 on 7/30/23 which included a pizza, house salad, meatballs, chicken marsala, baked ziti and lasagna. Pizza was ok, however, we ordered black olives and they put kalamata olives on instead as that is what they consider black olives. Quite a difference. Salad was good and fresh. Meatballs were ok. The lasagna had a bad smell from the meat. Chicken "supposed" marsala was disgusting. Chicken was NAKED AND AFRAID... boiled or microwaved with no coating nor seared. The sauce was a pale yellow like cream of chicken soup. Both entrees were thrown out. You could tell the ziti was frozen. On a good note, the rolls were fresh and seemed homemade. I called and asked for the manager or owner. The guy who answered told me the manager would be in the next day. I told him the main concern was to check their portions of lasagna to avoid anyone getting sick. I called the next day and the owner had already left for the day at 2 p.m. I called again on the third day and finally spoke to the owner. After explaining SOME of the concerns, he stated all product is fresh and confirmed there was no way the meat could be bad in the lasagna. After cutting me off to say he was busy and not letting me say the good things about the salad and rolls, he offered free chicken marsala and lasagna for "Next time." Sorry sir, there won't be a next time. I did see another bad Google review (after the fact) about the chicken marsala. We started with the Crab Arancini which is homemade rice balls stuffed with crabmeat which came out hot and tasted amazing, they definitely did not last long at the table! We also ordered two Buffalo chicken pizza slices, one margherita, and the Pasticcio special. These slices are huge but did not even last between myself and my kids because they tasted amazing! I thought I would give this new restaurant a try. I was so hoping it would remind me of the Mama Lucia's that used to be in the same Shopping Center. We ordered an eggplant parmesan a veal parmesan and chicken saltimbocca. My daughter gave the saltimbocca an A+ for flavor and tenderness. It's a shame the rest of the food didn't come close. The eggplant was still greasy from having been deep-fried and not properly drained. It was stringy and tough, and tasted like it had no seasoning not even salt. The veal parmesan was no better. I've eaten here 4or 5 times. I can recommend the cheesesteak Stromboli. I modify it with a little bit of onions and I add provolone to it. Very very good. Not Philly but better than most MD joints. The pizza was a nice crispy chewy crust. Sauce was very good and so were all the toppings. My food at pick up was hot and I could tell it had just been cooked. Service was excellent as well. Seriously some of the best pizza I've ever had. I always get slices, and make sure to go for the slices as opposed to a whole pie. A whole pie is just fine, but when you get just a slice, the way the crust reheats in the oven, it gets so crispy and delicious. I love their buffalo chicken pizza and their arugula pizza that you can get by the slice. Also just plain cheese or pepperoni is excellent. The only reason I do not give a 5 star review is because I have heard from several people that the owner keeps all the tips for himself! Not just credit card tips, but the cash tips and change in the big jar in front of the register! I was appalled when I heard this, I was told this by several people and still couldn't believe it. However I once saw the guy at the register, who I was told was the owner, take the money out of the tip jar and put it directly into the register!!! That is stealing from your employees!!! If that "tip jar" is for you and not the employees, it should be clearly labeled "not for employees". I would be willing to bet nobody would even put their pocket change in there if they knew this was occurring. All in all, it's a great establishment with delicious food. Everyone should absolutely give it a try, you will not be disappointed. However, whatever you do, do not tip!!!! I am in LOVE with this place. This gluten free pizza is scrumptious. They also have gluten free pasta (penne) AND ravioli! Gf ravioli is a rare find in a restaurant! First time @ Pasticcio. Worst experience ever! Upon entering the restaurant my mother and I found it to be quaint and clean. But that's where it stopped! We were handed menus and you ordered at the counter. I was interested in the eggplant Parmesan and I asked one of the guys, Who had a yellow shirt on, if the eggplant was fried and he told me yes so I ordered it. When I got the plate all I could see was cheese and sauce so I started to eat it and the eggplant did not taste fried to me. I tried to eat it but I just couldn't finish it so I took it up to the counter. This time I spoke with a heavy set guy wearing a white shirt, he was probably the manager. I told him what my concern was and he got very offended which made me feel bad because I had approached him in a sensitive way. I told him I am sorry if I offended you and he said well you did. He then said that they spend the whole day frying the eggplant and again I told him I am sorry if I offended you but I cannot eat this. He then said to me again I am offended and he then threw the dish in the trashcan. He then asked me what else would I like to order and I said that's OK I'm fine. He then said no go ahead and order something so I ordered the Baked Ziti. When I got the dish I could not believe what I saw.There is nothing baked about it! It looked like it was just ziti pasta mixed with sauce and cheese and cooked on the stove. I took a few bites because I was hungry and could not finish it. So as to not offend the restaurant again I just asked for a box and took it home. I have felt sick all afternoon and the thought of it makes me want to puke! I did take a picture of it which I hope it posts. If I could give this review a -10 I would do so. I called some family members and told them my experience and not to eat there.
