This gem is worth the trip if you're not close. Patagonia has some of the most fresh and delicious empanadas. You get a fresh flaky dough with a healthy amount of filling. I ordered the beef, chicken, Arab, sweet beef, and spinach and cheese. I tried the Patagonia salad, which is similar to a Waldorf salad but has stuffed green olives and a delicious vinaigrette. To end I enjoyed an espresso and bread pudding. I wanted to try various desserts: bread pudding, cannoli, and apple tart. The bread pudding is my favorite! It's very moist and had golden raisins. It has a dollop of dulce de Leche and a cherry. They have a variety of cookies filled with dulce de Leche too. If you're unfamiliar with some of the dishes, chances are you will enjoy it. They serve large portions and fresh ingredients. There is patio and indoor seating for groups of 2-4 people. It's a small cafe with big flavor. You can smell the food from the parking lot. read more

This is my favorite Argentinean empanada spot. They've been around for a decade and offer mate, breakfast, homemade pastas, milanesas, pizzas, sandwiches, over 16 types of empanadas, coffee, wine, and deserts. They share family recipes passed down from many generations and use imported Argentinean spices. The empanadas are baked fresh to order with a flaky, buttery crust, and portioned well with a rich and savory filling. We had the corn, spinach and cheese, and onion and cheese. This place is expensive, they charge a credit card fee and extra for chimichurri (which is pretty bland here), but I crave these empanadas from time to time. read more

We came back today (a few days later from our first visit) and ordered a lomito sandwich (again), fries, drink and a pastry. We noticed that we didn't get a small side of chimichurri sauce with our sandwich (we received it last time with our sandwich order and empanadas) so we asked for a side. To our surprise the lady behind the counter charged us $1 for the very small side. We understand times are hard now but c"mon. The size of the sauce is more like a sample size, for sure not worth $1 especially if we received 3 sauces at no cost last time. We know they sell a larger side of sauce but at this point we were put off by their stinginess and smug attitude and didn't want to bother. read more

A nice little Argentinian cafe with empanadas and a really nice section with baked items. I honestly didn't know empanadas were a part of the Argentinian cuisine as well. They had a good selection of stuffings to pick from but I tried the spinach, chicken and beef. The sauce that came with it was really nice as it added a good flavor to it. The empanadas themselves were really nice, hot and soft. The seasoning for the chicken and beef were really good as well. For the desserts or the baked goods I had to try the lemon tart and the canoli. The canoli was filled with chocolate instead of cream cheese the Italian style so it was a little too chocolate-y and sweet but the lemon tart had a nice fresh tartness from the lemon to it. Overall a nice little place with inside and outside seating. Probably great for lunch if you're working or living in the area. read more

We love to come here for an easy and filling meal! The empanadas are handmade and made to order. We like to get the chipotle chicken, regular chicken, and the Arab. They will each have a little number pressed into them so you can tell which one is which. They also have a wide selection of desserts. I tried the chocolate mousse, and I thought the topping was going to be whipped cream, but instead it was like a powdered sugar/marshmallow topping. The texture was strange and was way too sweet. I am giving 4 stars simply because the bathroom was out of soap, and I think that's something that should be regularly checked. They brought out a little hand pump for me, but it was full of Dawn dish soap, not hand soap. We will keep coming here! Like I said, it's delicious. The prices are great, too. read more

Wow! Incredible! Was in the area and pull up my usual Yelp reviews and every star is well deserved! Made fresh and so full of flavors. They also have an Italian menu so it's a double duo of cultural choices here. Best empanadas I've ever had! I ordered: Jalapeño, cheese, onion Shrimp Arab I now have empanada dreams bahaha! Closest thing to my grandma's in orange. I don't go anywhere else for any Arg food/treats. Service is a hit or miss, we order to-go a lot so we have minimal interaction. One thing though, the to-go menu is not the same as in person. It's a small sitting area inside and a couple more outside. Don't plan to bring a big group here. Regardless, we'll continue to return here because the food great! read more

I saw this place multiple times when I'm going to work and I decided to finally try it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of outdoor seating with plenty of indoor spots as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a traditional dine in menus but you go up to the counter to order dine in or take out. They also have a dessert display which isn't listed on the menu. There were so many choices of empanadas, sandwiches, pasta, pizzas, and other dishes. I ordered the chicken, cordobesa, and chipotle chicken empanadas and the Patagonia Lomito Sandwich. The empanadas were filling and all of them tasted excellent. You can really distinguish which flavor was which when you start eating them. The dough was crispy and fluffy. The sandwich was just as good as the meat was juicy and cooked perfectly, the vegetables were refreshing, and the fried egg just made it more filling. The bread did not fall apart as you kept eating the sandwich. I would definitely come back here and try something else! read more

This place was amazing! Inside seating is limited but there is outdoor seating under cover. I tried the sun dried tomato empanada and the chipotle chicken. Both very good. Brought home an assortment of other flavors including the Arab. My coworkers ordered the Arab as well as the spinach and cheese. Everyone really liked what they had. Some people tried the pasta. Lobster ravioli and gnocchi. They said it was tasty. I also brought home a giant Dulce de leche sandwich cookie. Would for sure get again but would love to try the thousand layers dessert. My husband has become really picky about choosing Argentine restaurants since he is with me (an Argentine) But when we came to this restaurant he loved every food, he actually said the choripan was the best one he has ever tried! (And he had tried so many) Also the owner seems really nice, it's nice to hear other people speaking with your own accent when you're so far away from home! The place in general seems really nice and clean. The AC was working perfectly too. I loved all the desserts, specially the "volcano". I've driven past this little cute Italian bakery numerous times and was always curious but didn't have much of a sweet tooth until I met my BF who has thee biggest sweet tooth lol. My all time favorite dessert is tiramisu and when I looked up this place on Yelp to see what they had. I needed to finally stop by. The shop itself is family own and super cute inside also very clean and bright. Desserts! We came in just about an hour before closing and luckily they had 3 slices of tiramisu left. I bought all 3. A bit pricey I also got a iced mocha total was $25. Got home took a bite and it was heaven very well balanced like the other reviews had mentioned. I thought it was delicious!! My BF loves dolce de Leche so will be back to pickup their dolce de leche canoli for him. They have also have cakes, empanadas, wines and other coffee drinks available. Stop in if you're like us and have a sweet tooth you won't be disappointed!!! Plenty of parking and it's located across from the Orange Village Mall. read more

This place was so good. I got the spicy beef, chicken, and the regular beef after a day at the driving range. Definitely eat the empanada with the sauce (the green one) it's a bit spicy but so tasty! The best empanadas ever. They also have dessert which are to die for, we got the tiramisu and it was amazing. read more

What a disappointment... this place has sooo many great reviews, and we drove out of our way to give it a try. The service was awful-- we waited almost 25 minutes for them to heat up 3 empanadas, and when they finally came, they said they were still waiting on the third. Now, I wouldn't minded that super long wait if they were like the greatest of all time... but I took a bite, and wondered where the flavor was!! The beef was SO basic and that's an Argentine staple. I even opened the salt packet to help the cause. All in all, the two stars are for the very cute decor, but I would recommend looking for authentic flavors elsewhere. read more

What can I say other than it was delicious! We had the cheese and onion - which had a lot of onions - make sure you dip it in the oil herb dip they give you along with some of the red vinegar available by the drink machine. We then had the beef lemon empanada which had a bright lemon note to cut through the decadent beef flavor. The difference with these empanadas is that the dough feels more like phyllo dough as it appears to be baked rather then completely deep fried. We love this place and will likely be back. Also bonus - the tikiyakj teriyaki joint next to here is fantastic for the affordable price! read more

I was wrecked that this place has been here for like 7 years and this is the first time I've tried it. It's a small place in a strip mall in Orange. A 'hole in the wall' in a great way. I honestly felt like I was sitting among Argentinian ex-pats. The vibe was cool and friendly. A place where knowing locals swing by for a coffee and pastry, or a few empanadas. We ordered 7 different empanadas and all were excellent. My favorite was definitely the spicy beef ...or maybe the spicy pork... or maybe the sweet beef. I had high hopes for the Arab but wasn't as much on that as the others. But zero complaints on the empanadas. They are each stamped with a number so you know which you're about to eat. The pastries were also great. Maybe a little pricy but worth it. The staff was friendly and no-lingual. I'll be back with certainty. read more

Absolutely glad I finally got to try this spot. I went on Sunday around 11 & it wasn't too busy. We had to wait a bit for our empanadas but they are made fresh so definitely worth the wait. The cashier was friendly and helpful. My boyfriend and I bought several different flavors to try out. This was our ranking: 1. Arab - the best one. 10/10 hands down. Do yourself a favor and get this one. The lemon flavor is absolute perfection 2. Spicy shrimp - we were hesitant about this one but ended up being pleasantly surprised. Such good flavor. 8/10 3. Sweet beef - 8/10 solid choice. Really good flavor. 4. Spicy chicken - 8/10 but only if eaten with the sauce they provide. Has good flavor and a hint of spice, not too spicy. 5. Chicken - 7.5/10. He gave it a 7, I gave it a 8. Still good flavor and you can taste the seasoning they use. 6. Beef - 5/10. The meat was just kinda bland for us. Just get the sweet beef instead. 7. Ham & cheese - 2/10 just because it was too much cheese and not enough ham for our liking but if you love cheese then you'll probably like it. 8. Onion & cheese - 6/10 if you love caramelized onions, this one is for you. It's good and not too cheesy. It's just lower on the list because I almost forgot about it. Great empanadas I've tried about every flavor now and they are all delicious as well as the chimichurri sauce that comes with it. Their Argentinian breakfast is also really good. Larger-than-expected empanadas (some creative flavors, some very traditional ones); I enjoyed my meal but waited a long time because not everything was ready at the same time. Given the size of these very-generously-portioned empanadas, it's a worthy stop. Not a meal to remember, but definitely a good meal nonetheless. We tried so much and we're still so excited to finish trying the rest of the menu! Great experience here so we came back for dessert in the same day lol. At lunch we got the chicken Milanesa sandwich with the ham and egg: 10/10 We also tried their empanadas Beef Chicken Chipotle chicken Spicy beef Our favorite was the spicy beef and the chipotle chicken but all of them are good! I just recommend asking for more of the green sauce. Definitely going to be a staple, glad we tried this place out. Great prices for the quality of food. Came back two hours later and got a tray of desserts! While the food was ok, the service was terrible. The service alone is a reason not to go back. There was a friendly young lady who took my phone order and greeted me upon pick. However, during pick up there was an older woman who attended me.... She was extremely rude, short, and condescending as if she was doing me a favor. It was an awful experience as a paying customer. Absolutely love this place! Have frequented many times. I saw an ad for their Father's Day Dinner Show for Saturday night so came in to reserve my spots. Great place, only have had the empanadas and they are phenomenal! Service is quick. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is cause they are stingy on the chimichurri sauce. They give the tiniest sides. I asked for one more side sauce for my 8 empanadas (2 sauces were free) and with my hands full, the owner says it'll be $0.85..., . We eat dinner here 3-4 times a month. Empanadas are delicious. My daughter loves the short beef ravioli. My hubbie always enjoys his steak with chimichuri. I've heard that almost every country has their own version of an empanada. And Argentina is a heavy weight when it comes to these hand pies. I was very happy to visit here at least three times, to try their speciality. And the empanadas are great, a good size for the price point. Not too crusty, never dry and I enjoyed all of them. I particularly enjoyed the chicken, sweet beef and spinach with cheese. Of course the Arab's unique shape makes it fun to eat. I would order extra chimichurri sauce, it really adds flavor to each and every bite. I had a relative bring frozen ones and by the time it got to me here in Skokie, the empanadas were like in one big ball. I ate them even though they were all stuck together. So if you are transporting frozen ones, try to separate it with wax paper. There's seemingly no AC in this shop but it's bearable. They also serve Argentinian wine and beer. Our business started 2 years ago and after serving our original family recipes to our clients we increase the Empanadas' flavors by adding 7 more to the list. Today we are proud to serve 16 empanada flavors and the full Argentinean Menu. Besides our delicious Empanadas we also served pastas, hot sandwiches, appetizers, pastries, coffee and cakes.

No way they sold 166 beers in an hour with one person working the bar and shop empty in an hour. They could have posted on their instagram or socials that they sold out but failed to do so. Saying "What I hear when I make a heavy cream latte for a customer". Unprofessional and unacceptable. I will not patronize any business that humiliates paying customers online. Sadly enough.. I was planning on ordering the drink the barista was implying was disgusting. I always get heavy cream lattes because they remind me of how my Grandma used to make milkshakes when I was a kid.. this just made me really upset. Please reconsider participating in judgmental & rather juvenile Tiktok's on a business page. You just lost a potential reoccurring customer.

This morning after running errands we decided to visit Patagonia Empanadas; we got to the restaurnat it around 1:30pm so our tummies needed FOOD (WHEN I SAW THE BILL) I figured everyone was hungry because after placing the order our bill was $141.46 (including tip) **PLEASE NOTE at this establishment you pay at the same time the order is placed** We decided to sit outside in the covered patio area, the weather was nice and it is a comfortable patio area. We waited for the food and enjoyed a little FIFA while waiting for our meal. And because it had been a while since my last visit I had forgotten how BIG and delicious the EMPANADAS are. So needless to say we ordered way too much food but the BEST thing about having leftovers is not having to cook. As mentioned the empanadas are delicious and big, so FYI if you go there leave room for dessert because the pastry is OUT OF THIS WORLD! read more

Empanadas are simply hot pockets...the Argentina cuisine is good because it is piping hot out of the oven. Depending on the filling it can be very good. The tuna has vegetable with it...tasty. The ground beef has bell peppers...very good as well. The salad is simply lettuces with tomatoes and onion with a vinegar based dressing--nothing special. For about $8 this breakfast combo with a drink is a fair deal especially in OC. This is a ok place. (P.S. Always be nice...I ordered a breakfast combo. It contains a fruit cup. The owner, George did not have time to buy fruits, so I simply ask for a salad as a substitute, and I was nice about it. He gave me two pieces of the bake good, Alfajor de Maicena. Amazing naturally arranged empanadas. They turn out steaming from the stove, so you gotta be persistent and not to attempt to wolf everything down and consume bejeezus out of your mouth. Give the reckoning a chance to develop! The Arab one had a fascinating tart kick. The chipotle ones had an ideal level of zestiness, be admonished: it would be genuinely hot for the individuals who don't ordinarily eat much zesty. The sweet corn and spinach combined well to offset the feast. Since the name of the place is about Patagonian empanadas, that is the thing that I got. Be that as it may, they offer a considerable measure of different dishes too, from servings of mixed greens to gnocchi to battered fish filets. Tsk-tsk, space for empanadas this time. My wife and I went to Patagonia Empanadas for lunch. The restaurant is in a small strip mall across from a large shopping mall. They have both inside and patio seating. The restaurant is clean and well kept and the staff is polite and helpful. We tried a variety of empanadas: beef, chicken, corn, ham and cheese and spinach. Of the group, the chicken was my favorite, although the others were not bad. I probably would not order the corn again. Prices were very reasonable. We also tried the Dulce de leche cannoli and was okay. All-in-all it was a satisfactory lunch. If you're in the mood to try empanadas, I recommend Patagonia Empanadas. read more

Great atmosphere and friendly staff , in addition to the variety of empanada flavors. My personal favorites are the sweet beef, spicy shrimp, and spinach varieties...but I still have a bunch more flavors to try. Everything is made on the spot from you ordering it, so it takes a good 10 minutes or so to receive your food...but the quality is great and you can tell it's all fresh ingredients made by this family-owned restaurant. Definitely give these guys a try and be sure to mix it up with a few flavors since the prices are extremely reasonable. read more

I found a hair in my food. No apology. No offer to comp the food. Um...I don't want your hairy beef. I want to just not pay for your hairy beef. And an apology would be nice too. Even when I asked the manager to take the beef off the bill since we couldn't eat it, he said no. We had to argue for five minutes before he finally did. Next time wear a hair net. Oh, and as an aside, there is a "manager" that is a raging lunatic b&$*% for no apparent reason. Definitely won't be coming back. read more

I've had this place bookmarked for so long, never really having tried Argentinian food. Not bad, but not great, probably won't be coming back here. I tried the beef, the "Arab", chicken, and onion & cheese empanadas all with the vinegary chimichurri sauce. They all taste very similar, and all not that strong in flavor. It doesn't look like it but it tastes like theres a high ratio of dough to filling, further making it feel like it's lacking flavor. The tiramisu was pretty good though! read more

What a great experience. I have only had empanadas from places that didn't specialize in them, and have been disappointed. Now I know what they are supposed to taste like! These are unbelievable, and the variety available makes having a meal here something you can do everyday without repeating the flavors. I tried the Chipotle Beef Empanada and the Spicy Chicken Empanada. Both were fabulous, and completely different. Bring a friend and enjoy. read more

Place was top notch as usual. The food is always prepped to order with great ingredients. The flavors meld so well with such a distinct style. Luli is one of the best customer service reps I've encountered thus far, professional, courteous, amiable. This place has the best empanadas and chimichurri sauce! This is a nice place to go have some empanadas. The reason why I am not giving 5 stars is that the veggie empanada (made of spinach) feels a bit slimy. The chicken ones are very good and they taste better if you reheat them at home. About the salsa they give you with the empanadas all i can say is...i do not understand it, it is not spicy, it is more like a salad dressing. The customer service is very good. read more

This is the go to empanada restaurant in southern california. I like the quality and freshness even more than Porto's. We had the beef, sweet beef, chicken and corn. The chimichurri sauce adds just the right amount of tartness to the light sweetness of the empanada pastry. The dessert pastries are also a must have. The dulce de Leche cannoli is a culinary masterpiece. Really good stuff. read more

This place it is a little gem. I enjoyed every time I went and every meal I got. My wife got addicted to their empanadas and the chimichurri. You can also watch your favorite soccer game in a calm environment. I know they are closed right now since they are moving to a new location. All in all, the food and service here is excellent. Empanadas are clearly homemade and taste excellent. The empanadas are very reasonably priced at less than $3 per empanada, meaning I can feed several people for no more than $20. I will certainly continue to support this restaurant with zero hesitation. read more

I tried all the flavors of empanadas that they sell here and I narrowed the list down to one empanada in my opinion. that is their chipotle beef one. its just bursting with a great ground beef flavor, zesty and spicy and hearty as well.
