So I ended up being the coworker that had to find a Friday night dinner reservation for 7 to maybe 10 people .... but it needs cocktails, can't be too far from the convention center, have good food - preferably meat, and be more south than north for the coworker driving up from San Diego. And I had less than 20 hours to figure this out. I feel like I need to apologize to all the other patrons dining that evening - luckily we were outside in the cozy patio under several heat lamps. The martinis were made to order, as was all our entrees and I think almost everyone was happy with their food. I certainly was with my petite filet mignon. It was a boisterous meal - as I met several coworkers for the first time and we talked story about past misadventures with this motley crew. I love patttys place. Kind of an old school vibe, with a contemporary twists. I love martinis there they do a great job with both food and booze. This place is special. Unbelievable wine list. We had the Oublie from Booker which I loved. They decanted it with care and first class service. The wine program here is excellent. It's a local place where you could go to the bar and just relax with a burger, you could sit on the patio for a nice date but not too fancy, or you can be in the dining room and have one of the best steakhouse experiences of your life. We had two appetizers - the lamb chop lollipops and the crab cakes. Both were exceptional. The crab cakes were huge lump fresh crab. Wonderful. Then I had the snake River wagyu ribeye and it was one of the best steaks I've ever had. My friend had lobster and we shared a bit for a little surf and turf. Closed the night with their baked apple dessert - I forget the name of it. But it was a perfect ending to a delicious meal. This my first time at Patty's Place and I thought it would be good but I had no idea it would be spectacular. The staff and service were amazing. I have not criticisms. As soon as you walk in you notice the quaint homey feel. We sat outside where the weather was just perfect. They're wine list is extensive so be prepared. I recently had my Birthday dinner at Patty's Place. We have eaten here over the years and have had good experiences. The recent Birthday dinner was outstanding. I had the filet mignon stroganoff, onion soup, and crab cakes for an appetizer. We enjoyed a bottle of My Favorite Neighbor Cabernet. Our guests had salmon. Service and food were outstanding. What a great place to eat and enjoy family. Came here with our son, girlfriend and his future in-laws. We sat in the back and not only had great service, but the food was great. My son and I had the Prime New York, no fat whatsoever and the flavor was a 10/10. Wife had the sea bass, others had the Stroganoff and everybody was raving about their dishes. Appetizers were Buffalo Cauliflower and Bruschetta tomatoes with 25 year old Balsamic vinegar to die for. Desert Creme brûlée unbelievable. Have been coming here forever and loving it... Everything is fantastic ... the ambiance, the food, the menu, the staff...with one exception. There is a staff member, Jamieson, who we just dread having be our server. The rest of the staff is personable and professional, and attentive and engaging. This other gal has ruined more than a few dining experiences. Don't ask any questions about the menu items. She does not know and will tell you that. Not, I will go and find out. Do not ask for anything that you need to complete your meal...you won't get it or if you do, it will be too late to use it. She won't care either. On more than one occasion, she has had to be reminded to bring something and never an expression of regret for her lack of professionalism. She walks through her day with no emotion, no glimmer of recognition, and it seems like she really can care less about your presence. She must be related to someone who is in charge, as she is completely inadequate, and not an asset to this fine dining establishment. read more
