If it would have allowed, I would have put a negative rating for this site on Sunset. Today I called and was told by a pleasant person that yes they could replace the lenses on my already purchased glasses as long as I had the new prescription. Which I did. She said no appointment necessary. I arrived there at 5:01 pm when their closing time is 6 pm and was told I would have to come back on another day since they "don't take new orders" that late. It took another similar provider 15 minutes, including a thank you for choosing them, to take care of the order for me but obviously this location has no interest in actually providing service with the customer in mind. I would never consider doing business with them. Certainly would not have ever considered taking off another day of work to do it at their convenience, and would not recommend that anyone else go there either. read more

This place made me feel like I was at the DMV! I was waiting for over two hours while witnessing employees all chatting amongst themselves, laughing and having a good ole time. Doctors would come out of their offices and allow other customers to cut ahead of me. Finally, one girl had to be told to assist me and I was finally helped. They take their sweet time with their costumers sitting behind their desk. They don't even have a big selection to choose from! Their prices? Well let me tell you! They are in my network and the frames, lenses and other upgrades are overpriced. When I went to LensCrafters at the Galleria mall, which was out-of-network, their frames, lenses, and upgrades all came out cheaper! Don't believe me? Go to LensCrafters and ask them about their discounts for out-of-network purchases and get an estimate. Then go to Pearl Vision to compare the cost. read more

Avoid this location. Apparently they are too busy to honor appointments set prior. I received a postcard telling me to call an confirm an appointment. The postcard had a date and time but when I called, they told me it was a tentative appointment that they were all booked up and had nothing available at all. No alternatives were offered, just that they were booked up. I will be finding another place to get my eye exam. read more

Beware!! My two kids and I just left this place without being seen after we were asked to sign a form stating that I would be liable for payment after 120 days REGARDLESS of the reason insurance denied. I refused, of course, because it is never appropriate to expect a patient to be liable for non-payment if the provider is at fault. They also will expect you to sign a blanket ABN (Advance Beneficiary Notice) which is another no-no. I have never signed either form before and today was told if I didn't then neither I, nor my children, would be seen. Ok, no problem. I left. I will find another provider that understands the billing process and all its legalities a little better than Pearle. read more

I will leave you with this analogy instead: I've walked in to this store front location on two different occasions, months apart from each other and both times I've felt as though I could feel the unwelcomed feeling Julia Robert's might have felt when she walked into the snobby boutique on Rodeo Drive. Clerk: "That's VERY expensive" Julia: "I didn't ask how much it was, I just asked if I could try it on" Clerk: "I don't think we have anything for you here, please leave". Ok, so they didn't ask me to leave but I felt a similar level of discomfort as all eyes were pointed in my direction as I tried on their frames. Glasses and contacts are a major purchase in my world and in terms of the frames they tend to be with me for a while. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK. My insurance covers a standard exam, including dilation. When I got there, the attendant gave me paperwork to sign which included an agreement to have an electronic scan instead of dilation for an extra $39.00. Both her and the paperwork made it sound like it was basically mandatory. I had to fill out a form declining it and tell two attendants that I did not want to pay extra. When I went to the doctor, she told me my eyes were "healthy" and I didn't need that portion of the exam, even though I've had it every other time I've been to an optometrist. Finally, they REFUSED to tell my inter-pupilary distance. I asked the doctor and she said that the eyeware people would not let her tell me. I asked the eyeware people and they said the doctor wouldn't let them tell me. Finally, after making a few fake excuses, the doctor told me that they didn't want people to know because they didn't want them to be able to order online. read more

I have a serious opposition to anything that resembles a serious errand. Dentist appointments, flu shots, faxing documents - I detest it all, usually opting to delay it for as long as possible. After years of coming to Pearle Vision, I can positively say that this is my favorite "serious errand". The Optometry office, which is located in the rear, is always my favorite part. Dianne, the receptionist, is ridiculously sweet! She always preps clients prior to their consultation with Dr. Burt, and her friendliness actually makes the puff of air to the eye enjoyable. Dr. Burt is downright awesome - dry sense of humor and incredibly intelligent. Never have I been held up by a condescending lecture or dull conversation. In the front end of things, Nancy, the licensed optician, handles all things I don't even want to touch with a five-foot pole. She's always willing to duke it out with my parents' insurance companies, finding the best deals, and ensuring that I am set for the next year. Hell, if all of my errands could be effortless as this eye exam, I might actually do them. read more

I was always addressed politely and due to the staff I actually had fun the whole time, especially while learning how to use contacts (time consuming and frustrating). I went here to get fitted for contacts. I have been going here for about two years. The initial girl who was tall with dark brown hair was very pleasant and welcoming to the pre tests. Then I was asked to go to a room and wait for the doctor. I didn't wait very long and it seemed steady with clients. The doctor was knowledgeable and answered my questions thoroughly. I was satisfied. Then I was directed to the one who would be ordering glasses if I decided to get them. This girl had long blonde hair and gave me a feeling like she didn't have a lot of time for. Which I cannot stand. She had no emotion or a welcoming disposition. She needs more training with the public because she looked as though I was supposed to be entertaining her and that would be difficult. The questions I did ask her were met with disappointment and impatience. This is not how I wanna feel when I could have my choice to go here or not. I left very disappointed with her non service demeanor. If people do not have skills working with the public they should not be in business where they have to be pleasant and kind to customers. All of the girls working the front and store are attentive and professional. They communicate with you your wait time. Dr. Jean Sugimoto the optometrist scheduled for that day handled my consultation with ease and professionalism. She went through the examination with complete explanation that you feel at ease that you are in good hands. Went there with a Groupon. What a mistake. Waste of time and money. The "doctor" seemed to be preoccupied with something else. She did not listen to my concerns. She did not provide the service that I requested. She needs to go back to school and take a few customer service courses. This is all my opinion, of course, based on one visit. I have not had an exam in 2 years, I feel they were extremely helpful and i was the last appointment and never felt rushed. I am very pleased with the care i received. My sister is crazy to say that the puff to the eye is enjoyable, but she is not off about how friendly the staff is. It has been two years since my last eye appointment and even longer since I have been to see Dr. Burt. Between Dianne and him, I was able get in and out without much issues. That was until I decided to get contacts. Having Dianne around to reassure me that it is difficult to get use poking yourself in the eye at first helped. At first I cringed in retrospect from my first foray into hard lenses. Since then I had resigned to just putting on a pair of glasses everyday. I still love my thick black frames but contacts are the way to go for my active lifestyle. I have my trial pair to test out and will be going back in a week to have Dr. Burt check my eyes. read more

This is the second time I came into this establishment to only be told that we might be able to purchase glasses with over 1.5 hours before closing. The second time only one of us could and when I Came here to buy my daughter and I some glasses. We got right in ,only to be waiting for an hour and a half to actually be done with her order. We also heard staff on the phone telling customers that they were slammed when there were a group of workers not doing anything in the corner... they also turned down customers that were walking in and on the phone when they literally had 2 desks available. The staff was friendly and a little bit of a wait. My wife and I both needed glasses so we picked our frames that we wanted. The associate said that my wife's glasses would be done In couple weeks and mine in an hour. We paid and I received mine right away. Here we are 1 month and a half later still waiting on her frames. I understand they are now in back order but there was no communication. We had to call and complain and all they said was it's on back order. No apology from the staff and the guy who answers seem to not be happy over the phone. I'm not quite sure how I feel about them.. went in for a regular eye exam and left feeling unsure. Apparently if I see shadows around objects or flashes of lights my eyeballs are detaching themselves from my eye. Huh?? Did I hear that right! So, if that happens I need to come back ASAP.. but when I asked if he saw anything he said "I have to say that". Umm okay then.. not worried at all! I went in to do whatever I needed under my co-pay even made it clear to my doctor that that's what I was there for they did a contact exam.. which was not covered. Do not come to this location. Horrible customer service and they do not fully inform their patients of what they are paying for. My elderly folks went in there to get their eyes checked and possible new glasses if need. They walked out with $800 bill. When I looked at their invoices, the itemized charges did not show that the insurance was charged and the "extras" that they convinced them to get were in a lump sum. Overall the invoice appeared inaccurate. When I called them, their manager Amber said "on their invoice everything was charged appropriately". When I asked them why they gave a completely invoice to their customers? Amber basically said "it's our protocol". So basically, it's their protocol to not completely inform patients/customers of what they are paying for. I went down to their office because I was feeling like my parents got taken advantage of. So been going here for a couple years now, so when my mom needed new glasses I thought I'd refer her here......BIG MISTAKE!!! So her insurance didn't cover alot so it was a big chunk paid for new glasses. So she had gotten new frames from my niece as a gift and she paid choose to 200$ for them.. she was waiting one week went by then two going on 3 weeks and they finally call saying they broke her frames putting in lenses and she'll have to go in and pick from 3 frames they had chosen for her. I was pretty certain they said it was taken care of .. that would've of been the normal thing to do.. so she went in today and had to pay another 80$ on top of her remaining balance? 80$ for the new frames that THEY broke?!?!? How is that on her.? So I just call and they say she signed a firm stating that they are not liable for them breaking why frames?! So basically they aren't taking any blame on breaking them. How is that my mom's fault? I'm so irritated and don't think I'll be back here or refer anyone else here... So before you go in make sure you read EVERYTHING.. and if you have expensive frames they don't care if they break and you have to pay more for frames‍ thank goodness they weren't 800$ frames.. . total scam really. I called my health insurance and got very specific information on what I am covered for. Then I called Pearle on Sunset and confirmed (again very specific) and of course they confirmed my coverage. When I arrived for my appointment, the girl presented me with a list of things I needed to pay for up front because they were not "covered". Which was not true at all. This is common practice for Pearle I hear. I did not agree or consent and as soon as I left I called my insurance back to make sure I didn't miss anything. Horrible. This is long over due. Me and my husband went in with our 4 year old and the doctor tried to say she was ""legally" blind. Waste of money. My daughter is 4 and they had her doing tests a lot of 4 year olds do not take seriously. If my daughter were legally blind she would be walking into walls and telling me she can't see anything. Then he tried to shame us as parents in his own "nice" way. Worst customer service i have ever received from a doctor we will never be going back. I never write bad reviews, but my experience with this place just left me wondering what happened? The staff is really friendly when it comes to greeting and receiving guests, but when it comes down to ordering products, they just lack in that department. Which is sad because I really enjoyed coming here, but twice they have told me one thing and then on my next visit, tell me the opposite. They never saved any of my orders, even though they told me that they did. And I understand that things happen, but not once did I get an apology. I've came here for over 5 years, but today was my last. I would recommend you go to a more professional environment where they value your time a lot more. read more

I had purchased glasses here several times for my daughter and I. The doctor was very nice and helped my daughter feel comfortable (especially with the machine that blows air in her eye). The experience has always been a positive one, but yesterday the service was exemplary. I stepped on my glasses and bent the frame beyond recognition. I was bummed out that I would probably have to buy new ones. As a long shot, I called this location and asked if there was anyway they could try to repair my frames and they said absolutely! I drove down with low expectations, but the optician went above and beyond. I didn't have to buy new glasses and the frame sat comfortably on my face. My experience have been great so far me and my kids all had to go and they treated my 3 year so kind he wasn't doing so good with the number colors and another girl came and took her time with him and was a little calmer for him to try to get it done even though he still wasn't able to cause the first girl felt annoyed by him not knowing the numbers and she didn't write anything down he did get right which kinda upset me but the doctor made my day by working with him and telling me it was ok he didn't do a lot of the vision test but he past the main one with the doctor 20/20 baby and the only reason I did give this location a 3 is because the doctors and other associates saved the day my kids was very happy read more
