There was a bit of a dinner rush so the wait was expected but the service and quality of the food overall was just below average. We always take advantage of substituting an extra choice of vegetables instead of rice. However, they didn't have the veggie korean pancake that we like. Also, the Japchae (Long rice) banchan was extremely salty as was the meat jun sauce which tasted like pure soy sauce or aminos. With our Kalbi and Chicken combos, we got the seaweed, kimchi, chap chae, kimchi cucumber and potatoes. (Some of it we doubled on both plates). The kimchi and kimchi cucumber were disappointing but the potatoes, seaweed, and chap chae were surprisingly good. Ordered our food though Uber Eats, and we ordered the yook gae jang soup (spicy beef soup) and bi bim bap. When the order arrived.....it was only the bi bim bap with sides that consisted of kimchi potato, bean sprout, tofu, cucumber kimchi, and cabbage kimchi and missing yu gae jong. The bi bim bap was pretty good could have used the gochujang sauce on the side in a separate container instead of a dollup on the plate. Now I heard people complained that when this Ewa location opened, the portions were small, but my dad decided to give them a try and has been satisfied since. We order around 8:00pm Sunday evening. The place was empty, excluding the one couple eating in the corner. My mother order a veggie plate (so boring) and I ordered a spicy chicken/spicy pork combo. It wasn't on the menu, but they went with it. Service was "dull", very monotone... Wouldn't kill them to smile. The impression the employees give is like they're being punished to work. Found the price was reasonable for what you receive. Since it was takeout, I didn't see my food until we got home, and I was pleased. Taste? It wasn't "amazing", but it hits the spot. We ordered takeout on a Tuesday. A small pan of Kalbi. I usually like their kalbi, but it was old that night. You can tell as the meat had a green tint when we pieced it apart. The texture was very chewy. It was disgusting. I'm sad to say I spent $33 on a small pan of old kalbi. I should have known when I called an hour ahead, just because I thought it'd take a while. Nope, they said it'd take only 15 minutes. As for customer service, I'd definitely give that 1 star at the most. The 2 ladies were talking amongst themselves while I just stood at the register. The food looks presentable, but as was eating my cabbage I found MOLD on one of the cabbage pieces. My food was not burnt so it could not have been a burnt cabbage. I called the restaurant and the lady said it is a "Scratch the way they cut there vegetables because there's more pieces like that in the batch they made". Never do I get as excited about vegetables as I do when I am getting them in a Korean takeout container. They make vegetables taste so much better. (yes, by adding oils and calories but who's counting?!) We order two plates: bulgogi and fish jun and kalbi and meat jun with two medium drinks. We paid $34. Wow! That seems like a lot for two plates. The food was ok and the reason I gave the 3 star rating was because it was just ok. The meats didn't taste very fresh and the meat was sort of tough. It almost seemed like it was cooked earlier and just thrown back on the grill when it was ordered. Does that make it left overs?? Seems like for $34 it would be nice to have something fresh. Overall the vegetables didn't disappoint, but the choy sum was kind of watery. Sadly, I don't think I'll be back. Customer service is where they fail. Their door says they close at 9 but good luck to you after 8pm. We have tried calling over and over and over to put in our take out order with no one answering. I have been there in the store while other people's calls were completely ignored even though they weren't busy at all. They also like to put all the chairs up on the tables to mop the floor at around 8:30 and then turn people away saying they are closed between 8:30-9. read more

I got the kalbi/meat jun plate like I always get. I wasn't blown away. The kalbi had good flavor, but the meat jun was kind of oily. I got all veggies so I could have an extra veggie. I got 2x cucumber, potato, kim chee, and choy sum. I was disappointed with the cucumber and kim chee. The rest was ok. I also got the honeydew boba drink. The slushy part was really good, but the tapioca pearls were kind of gross. Like they cooked them too long or something. All in all, it was ok.
