I love Peets and always come to other locations but today I felt extremely unwelcome by the blonde girl who had a nasty attitude about my drink being wrong and I was super polite about it. I get if you're having a bad day but don't give me an attitude when you made my drink wrong and all I asked was for what I paid for politely. Don't offer to "heat it up" that's one of the worse things to do to coffee is try and reheat it..which you should know..as a barista...anyway it's a bummer cause it's the only Location near my parents house. Okay, so I am a late bloomer....what can I say? Peet's has been at this location for several years and YES, I am just now trying them out...oh well. Came here on a date night with my husband and to be honest, I was a little intimidated because of some of the reviews I read about mean employees and their quarks...what impressed me right away was the names of the sizes of coffee...none of this venti, tall, grande nonsense but good old-American "Small, Medium, Large", words I understand! Larry took our order and then I proceeded to chat with him about their teas that they sell. He is a book of knowledge that I intend on utilizing at another time. Nope. Not my fault there's a bunch of 30 somethings working there who owe way more in student loan debt that their job could ever pay off- My Daughter and I order a good sized online order to pick up- have only ever uses the app for this location. Right after she clicked to order- the app showed for pickup in Clayton, 25 miles away.... that's weird, why the GPS pick up that store? So we're enroute to the Brentwood one, and she tries calling the Clayton one immediately to ask them to cancel it (no option on the app). ---you ever try to call a Peets? They never pick up. At all. We get to Brentwood. Now my Daughter's a teen, and she feels like she made an error- I saw the app, it was a GEO location error. We go in, and the guy in front of us had the same issue- same store misdirect in the app to the same wrong location..... he pays for his order again and walks over to wait. My Daughter explains it to the clerk. He is clueless and gets his manager. She is curt, tactless and condescending. She offers to make the order and charge again (over $20) and said we'd have to call the app support line "Monday-Friday 9-5". Nope.... I tell her that we usually go to Starbucks and that this is an easy fix- she needs to make the order and be done- we overheard the person before us and its an app problem. Nope. She decided to let us go as customers. We were enjoying going back to Peets---- I used to meet client at the Dwight Way one in Berkeley Pre Scamdemic days.... She declined. So the real pisser was the little clerk--- as we turned to leave, he decided to shout out "have a nice day".... No, they just pissed me off an the morning is gone, as is our hefty coffee spend at their stores.. We go to Starbucks. Great clerk at drive through, got our order right and generally gelled why we are going to stick full time with them and not Peets. Its coffee and pastries- Peets app sucks. Love Peet's and all the staff here. I get crazy order iced sugar free vanilla latte with 8 extra shots and oat milk! I always get jokes about my extreme amount of shots. Sometimes I'm working through the night and I need a lot of coffee and sometimes I get it to have coffee through the next few days. I try to limit going out but when I do I stop at Peet's to get my favorite. Right now during the SIP all other coffee places have lines for days and I'm loving my Peet's coffee where it takes me like 5 minutes to get a coffee unlike the others where it could be 15 plus minutes. I personally love Peet's more. The flavor of coffee is great and I'm not getting overly sweetened and mega milk flavored coffee. read more

I can't believe after all of this time I haven't written a review for this location. Walking in the door you are hit with the wonderful smell of coffee, its mesmerizing. Now, how do I narrow down what I want to order? I originally would go in and order a pot of tea and drink it while reading a book. It is nice to be able to get a pot of tea and a real teacup. My favorite hot tea is the Jasmine Downy Pearls. When it comes to cold tea nothing beats their Iced Summer Solstice. Oh, and the Green Tea Tropical is also amazing The nice thing is that no matter what tea you order they can make it iced. Any tea on their menu can be brewed and then served over ice; nice to have those options. When it comes to coffee I haven't had a lot of experience. However, I have found two that are just delicious. I am branching out into the coffee world with Peets and it has been a great experience. Last year I tried the Havana Cappuccino and I was sold on the drink. This year I fell in love with the Vanilla Cardamom Latte, unfortunately its seasonal so I will have to drink as much as possible and see if I can find out the secret as to how they make it. After reading their online menu I found that they have a sugar free mocha which Starbucks does not offer. The website also offers the capability of viewing the nutritional values for each drink, it allows you to change the size, type or milk, non dairy and etc. That way you can make informed choices about what you put in your mouth, as if that ever stopped me before. With regard to the location itself, the staff have been very nice, helpful at explaining what is in each of their offerings. Only complaint is that the parking lot is a nightmare. It is so hard to find a space that sometimes I just give up. I am not too proud to walk to the location but still, sometimes it is a long walk. read more

Went in yesterday for grounds for my espresso machine, everything went quick and smoothly. I thought. This morning I went to use them and they were ground incorrectly(looks like for a regular drip). I called the store and explained what happened. Their response was they couldn't do anything for me. I told them I was never given a recipe when i purchased and she told me that it was my fault I should have asked for one. I worked and managed at Peet's coffee and would never treat someone that way. So when I want a coffee in the morning I usually go to Starbucks. However I think Peet's coffee is much better. So I decided to see if the Peet's near me opened up by 5 am since I start work at 530 am. So according to the website my nearest location on lone tree way in Brentwood does indeed open at 5 am. So today (083122) I left early and headed over there and arrived at 510am only to find out they are closed. So off to Starbucks I went. If this location has different hours you need to update your website or at least post your hours on the door. Needless to say I won't be going here for my early morning coffee run. read more

This Pete's Coffee has never lived up to the San Mateo, Park Place Peet's, which sets the standards for all others; however, lately there are more mistakes and "flat" drinks. The last mocha I ordered didn't have any coffee/mocha flavor nor any taste of the flavoring I added. In fact, it tasted distinctly like watered down milk. Peetes coffee is great, the bad part is the delivery option they use through Door Dash . I never received my order, and Door Dash's customer service line is horrible. Do NOT order delivery. This Peet's is a nice location. And I've had wonderful customer service from other baristas/cashiers before. However, any barista doing an online/mobile order should be more aware and attentive to the drinks he/she may be making. I specifically ordered a Javiva with soy milk AND whip -- just so my stomach could tolerate it a little better than just using whole milk. The girl who made my drink disregarded the fact that I wanted whip on it and didn't put any. She also didn't offer me a straw either but offered everyone after me a straw. My drink was made perfectly, but I just wish they would be cautious to when mobile orders are made. Small things do matter. read more

Coffee!!! I have never been a fan of Starbucks coffee but love Dunkin Donuts which is too far. Peet's is the next best thing. They have great coffee and even specials with each season. The current flavors are maple and pumpkin! They have breakfast sandwiches that are great when you need a quick on the go grab. The service is always fast and they are all friendly. The only thing I would change is the location because the parking lot there is terrible. There is never any parking. That really isn't there fault but maybe somehow adding a drive through?! I love the matcha oat latte with jelly. I've ordered 3 times now. All 3 times something was wrong, they were all ordered through DoorDash. First time I ordered a large and got medium (the ticket on the drink even says large). 2nd and 3rd times both did not have the jelly in it (again, ticket on the drink says w/j) Seems like the workers are rushing to make orders quickly and missing details in the drinks. I've always been a fan of peets coffee. Matter of fact I prefer them over Starbucks 98% of the time. With this rewards program I've been using.... I usually always get more then one item. (Most of the time 3 items) I told the cashier I want to do two separate orders because that's how you collect more points of course. Then she says customers are only allowed one check in per hour. Automatically my face became sour as hell. If I'm spending my money here why does it matter how many check ins I want to do? Yay for Peets for giving away free regular coffees on Christmas Eve! At first, I was sort of taken aback because I didn't see any signs of this said promotion. As I was watching people actually order drinks, I was beginning to doubt that they were doing the promotion. It was a good thing I asked because they were. And they were giving away any size as well, which is pretty sweet. I avoided the temptation of getting a bigger size for fears that the bigger the coffee cup, the more sugar it'll hold. And yes. "Would you like some coffee in your sugar?" I'm one of those people. The place was hustlin and bustlin with people getting their caffeine on before hitting the stores for that last minute shopping rush. I ran into lovie's uncle. Chatted it up for a little bit. I came here this morning for an iced chai tea latte and asked for heavy cream instead of milk. The girl who was taking my order told me they didn't have any heavy cream and offered half and half or plant based cream. I told her that half and half was fine. Being that I can't drink milk because it makes me super sick I didn't want it in my drink and I thought I had made myself clear. The girl who was making my drink was too busy talking about her personal life to even pay attention to what she was doing. She ended up putting milk in my drink. When I called and spoke to the girl who I know took my order, I asked why there was milk in my drink? She told me that she knows she didn't put milk in my drink because she handed the barista the heavy cream for my drink. Ummmmm I thought you didn't have any heavy cream? Then she began to tell me she didn't take my order. Someone else did. Yeah, you got caught up in your own lie. Don't waste your time coming here. They can't follow simple instructions and it's bull shit when they charge almost $7 for a drink they can't make right that's not even complicated to make. read more

I was between work meetings in the area and wanted a jasmine green tea, a snack and some wifi. Peet's it is! I got a reduced fat pumpkin ginger muffin, which was delicious. Staff were friendly and quick. Just a fellow patron observation... There was a group of people who were taking up multiple tables but didn't seem to need them all. For example, one woman had all of her things at one table but spent 99% of her time at a table with other people. Strange, especially since it was clear that there were other people who would have liked to utilize the under-utilized table. One of the simplest of drinks was a decaffeinated latte and they did everything but made it decaf so I was unable to drink it once I got home. Yes, a person that cannot have caffeine can tell when they are drinking regular coffee. We visit this particular Peet's shop almost weekly and the staff is always incredibly nice, helpful, and professional. This location is perfect for us because we can grab a coffee and then head over to do some shopping at Trader Joe's. We LOVE Peet's because they not only have good coffee but they serve vegan cookies and other vegan items as well. My all time fave is the Spicy Ginger vegan cookie but we recently tried the vegan Oatmeal Raisin (at the suggestion of our ever-so-friendly counter person) and it was very good -- I'd say a very close second to the Spicy Ginger. I recently tried their Mayan Mocha which is beyond fabulous! I'm actually not a huge hot chocolate or mocha fan but this is a step away from the traditional drinks and into a higher atmosphere of flavor. I had it with skim milk and no whip cream and the drink stood on its' own quite strongly. Our Americano's are always brewed to perfection here and the lovely patio is a great place to sit in the sun on a warm afternoon. We love our Peet's! read more

We came to this Peets coffee because it's close to our WW meeting. Went twice and both time extremely slow. It looks like they work more on the on line orders than in house orders.
