I respect Peet's Coffee but today I had the Sumatra drip coffee & it was definitely inferior to the Sumatra coffee I had at Temple Coffee Roasterie on S St 2 days earlier. Peet's Sumatra had a sharpness to it that made it not smooth and unpleasant.There was also a bitterness that I detected that was a bad characteristic.Some bitterness in coffee is part of coffee's character but this bitterness was improper.Lastly,why does'nt Peet's carry the pink packet of artificial sugar Sweet N Low.That is my pet peeve with so-called refined or higher-end coffee houses.They have a problem with saccharin because it may have a link to cancer???Please offer it w/o prejudice & let the customer choose what they want. BTW, I do prefer Peet's over Starbucks,but Starbucks does offer Sweet N Low,go figure. read more

Great coffee, great service, great location! I refuse to go to Starbucks now that I've discovered how much stronger and more flavorful the coffee at Peet's is (yes, I'm a Peet's snob). No sugary syrups to disguise the coffee. Just pure, bold flavors that are more enhanced with anything added to it. read more

This is an updated review from my first review of this shop 9 months ago. The matcha latte with almond milk is my beverage choice and it is always on point and customized in every way to my liking. It's a very quiet location, always full of individuals with their laptops and business meetings. Nice quaint little gem to come for a great latte! The baristas have never let me down in terms of quality and customer service. A few times they had run out of almond milk which was very inconvenient, but I have been advised that they're doing their best to keep up with the demand. I give them credit for that! The quality of their espresso is also way better than what I have ordered at a famous unmentioned competitive chain with the green mermaid... This place definitely continues to get my full 5 stars!! read more

This is one of my favorite Peet's location. The drinks are consistently good and the staff is always cheerful and helpful. They have a large lounge area with reasonably comfy chairs and and hour of free Internet access with each purchase. read more

This Peet's is the best. The tables and toilet are clean, the cashiers are friendly, and the coffee is great. I come so often for coffee and study. It's at a convenient location where food and malls locate. It's only a mile from the freeway exit. There are plenty of parking spaces. read more

Customer service was great. Coffee is fantastic! (Mayan Mocha is worth a try!) HOWEVER....my Yelp discount couldnt be used because of some long excuse that the Peets inside isn't franchused, but Raleys is??? A dollar is still a dollar. And instead of saving a dollar, I spent it. So much for that Yelp offer. Coffee is great, people are nice, but you probably won't get to use your discounts. read more

I really enjoy the coffee at Peets, however they need to teach their employees good customer service. I walked into this Peets on a Friday night with my 2 daughters it was empty besides one customer at the table. My girls used the bathroom so i waited for them to come out. When i was finally ready to order the girl at the register didn't even greet us. She had a very irritated look on her face. When i asked her the cup sizes she looked really annoyed. When we were done ordering and she handed me my change she didn't make eye contact or say thank you. I thought those were the basics of customer service. With so many starbucks in Elk Grove why would i come to this Peets if this is how their employees treat their customers. I would rather drive a little further to get good customer service read more

Many times I have gone here not only to order the best coffee around, but to hear recommendations on different types of coffee to try. The barista's here are very knowledgable on their coffee and don't mind asking you a few questions to try and figure out what you might like. read more

I went in at 6:57pm on Wednesday with 4 other customers behind me, the girl at the counter walked away, I asked if they were closed and she said, "yeah we're closing, sorry.".. her friend was one of the 4 people behind me and said, "are you serious (name of worker) its 2 minutes till", the other 3 people followed behind, and maybe I should have too but I didnt want bad customer service and an employee, who was so eager to go home, to make me a coffee. I too like to go home when I'm scheduled to be off but it wasnt even 7 and she was willing to watch all of us walk away. I love Peets but despise lazy service employees as I am one as well. read more

The Barista topped off my delicious drink with some fabulous coffee art. This location is clean and the customer service is great. This place is absolutely horrible when it comes to keeping track of coffee. Ordered two coffees and scones. The scones came out right away. They forgot about the coffee and served other customers. They didn't give us a receipt either. What a terrible experience! read more

I work nearby and this is my go to place whenever I need some caffeine or a food snack! Some of my favorite snacks are the rice crispy treats or the pumpkin bread! I am giving this location two stars because I always order a earl grey latte extra hot and literally taste like I'm drinking hot water with no flavor. I came here from time to time but I'm more disappointment then please with my drink. I really don't want to bother the employees just because they do work very hard during the rushes. I work in the food industry myself, I know the importance of upholding the quality and taste to everything. read more

Yum! This is one of the only delicious coffee spots in all of Elk Grove. Mostly Elk Grove is overrun with Starbucks, but Peets coffee (although it is a chain) is absolutely tasty and brews good coffee. I have tried a triple shot nonfat latte as well as a red eye coffee. Both were made to perfection and tasted smooth, not burnt at all. The employees were quite friendly and the service was quick. I took my order to-go on both occasions, but I did enjoy the casual, laid back atmosphere of the lounge area. The only downside about this particular location is the difficulty of getting there! There is only one entrance/exit to this small shopping center, so it can be a challenge to visit at times. Overall, it is worth the effort for a decent cup of coffee. read more

Okay so since I wrote the last update, they have stopped doing their free drinks card so it is more pricier than Starbucks. I think I will be going to Starbucks from now on. I will say that the baristas are really awesome and friendly. One time this lady got my drink wrong and I said it was okay and I will take whatever she made. She gave me a free drink card. Horrible customer service with usually one or two baristas working in the AM time. You'd expect them to have more baristas in the morning due to people usually drinking coffee in the AM more than any other time in the day, but not at this location. Plus one cashier in particular is super rude (forgot her name) has no people skills what so ever. read more

The customer service is excellent. They're very friendly. Most of the time, they have made my white mocha perfectly, where its not too sweet or too bitter. There are times where the girls make my drink and its too sweet but I love coffee so either way, I'll drink it. The white mocha is my #1 favorite iced or hot, its delicious. read more

This place is the best Peet's Coffee & Tea I have ever been too, and my favorite coffee place in Elk Grove. Customer service is great! Everyone(especially Raul) is friendly and talkative, which freaks me out since I'm an introvert, but it's totally cool. I love their Green Matcha Latte with almond milk(and peppermint shots...thanks Raul). Their seasonal drinks are amazing too. Never fails, except for Eggnog, but that's cause I'm lactose. Everyone who brews anything there is amazing.(Especially Pete, Pete makes bomb lattes. The Irony.) I think one girl messed up my order once with real milk which got me sick for a few days, but I mean it was my fault too because I was in a rush and I didn't bother to check...then again I forgot what real milk taste like. :P Other than that. Fantastic customer service! I came here few months ago and it was my first time. I'm not a coffee person but i love tea, green tea especially! I'm not sure what to order but this one friendly barista helped me with what I really want. I'm not a picky person, all I want is a refreshing cup of ice cold semi-sweet green tea. She made a speciality for me and I LOVE IT!
