I went there this morning and had the Matcha Frappe which I loved! The cashier looked a little annoyed as if she didn't want to be there. In fact, she looked like she had stayed up all night the previous night and suddenly regretted being at work. She looked so sleepy and tired! The customer service was fine and this location is popular among locals who live/work in the DTSJ area. The baked goods selections are top of the line and tasty. The banana chocolate cherry bread is a unique standout. My main and only complaint (the reason I chose to write this review) is the dark roast drip coffee I ordered. Extremely BITTER! I should have looked at what type it was on the signage first. I couldn't finish the cup. I normally drink dark roast drip, but this one was strongly off balance. Even the cream and sugar didn't mask the bitterness. It wasn't palatable. I regret that choice and should have gone with the medium roast. read more

This place is usually well stocked for breakfast items. The girl behind the counter gave a lot of attitude when I ordered an everything plant based sandwich, and then told me they were out of it, so I settled for the everything plant based flatbread. I waited a good 3-5 minutes until another guy behind the counter told me that they were out of the sandwiches. It would have been better if the girl behind the counter who responded to the order made could have told me herself instead of sending her co-worker to refund me my paid money for the order I made. Will probably come back to this place for the drinks because they know how to make coffee good here. Food not so reliable. OMG! I'm in Hawaii & we don't have a Peet's. So When I saw this Peet's while walking back to my car, I almost ran across the street without looking. I was that excited! This location seems to be very central to the area. The movie theatre, restaurants, parking garage are all here. Awesome! When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by the baristas. The place has multiple tables for eating/drinking in. There are shelves stocked with coffee and coffee related items. But I was there for only one thing - Peet's Black Tuxedo. Peet's cold brew with chicory syrup, condensed milk, topped off with half & half. If you haven't tried it, do it! While the barista was making my order, I asked if they had the Baridi beans that they use to make their AMAZING cold brew coffee. They did! As I mentioned, we don't have a Peet's, so I ordered up two pounds of the stuff to take back home to Hawaii. Went to this Pete's for a meeting. Ended up having lunch there. The little chorizo sandwiches were delicious. The coffee was nice and strong. The place was not crowded and it was a terrific place for my meeting. Parking was not a problem which surprised me. This spot closes at 5:30, however they clean early, so they don't offer any of their food past 4:00 says their team members. I've tried multiple times now to try their new breakfast sandwich, to no avail. I guess there's a reason why Starbucks continues to be more successful. read more

Decided to try Peet's after walking my dog really early this morning. I was greeted with friendly faces and was immediately asked if I have any questions, which I did. I wanted something hot, tea, and something comforting because I was under the weather. The employee helped me out thoroughly and suggested this tea with peppermint and it was great! The atmosphere was comfortable. The lighting matched the weather outside which made it cozy. The people in Peet's were friendly as well and wanted to pet my puppy. Peet's have outside seating as well so if you're a pet owner and would like to sit with your pet outside, it's possible. It's also nice that they have a dog bowl outside filled with water! read more

I used to go this Peets back in my early college years since they had plenty of seating. I recently went and was glad to see that the service and drinks are still good. Pros Service: the workers here are super friendly and always get your order done right. Seasonal drinks: Peet's offers good seasonal drinks such as the peppermint mocha and pumpkin latte. It's better when they offer a $1 off when you check in on yelp or you can always google some promotions from Peet's to get discounted drink. Seating: there's plenty of seating inside the cafe so it's good if you need a place to chill or do some work. Cons Wifi: the only dislike I had about this Peet's was their wifi connection, it becomes problematic only if your relying on their wifi to get work done. read more

This location is the "Cheers" of coffee. As a regular, the staff makes a valiant effort to remember your name and order. Everyone is always friendly, drinks are made well, establishment is clean and they make sure to give you their undivided attention. This place is a second home to me. This location has a mom and pop feel, even though it is a chain coffee shop. I love seeing Sheila, Diego, Desmond, Jamie, Andrew and Jonathan whenever I get a chance to come in. Don't forget to check in on yelp to receive $1 off any drink! (currently, at least). That's one benefit to going to Peet's versus Starbucks... the promotional offers simply from checking in! I'll have to say, their seasonal Gingerbread Cinnamon latte is sooo delicious. I always add more cinnamon on top because I like it to be spicier. It isn't overly sweet. The peppermint hot chocolate is also a must try-- very sweet, rich, CREAMY, and yes they do swirl the chocolate beautifully into the steamed milk. YUM. I recently noticed that sometimes drinks taste better when you drink them without a plastic lid, ex: a nicely made latte with perfect foam--- it seriously tastes better and richer when you just drink it straight! Peet's has its own private parking lot, shared with a few other businesses. So don't worry about trying to find a metered spot. I always get the Black Tie with less condensed milk. I've tried the coconut version as well as a couple other drinks but the Black Tie is my favorite. The area is pretty nice, in the plaza with Mod Pizza, the Habit, Sprouts, and Target. Inside there's seating and I've always found a place to sit and study. Definitely my favorite Peet's location. I have visited the Peet's in Stockton, CA and further down from this location on El Camino. There's just something about this location that I like! The atmosphere, size and staff combined make it great! I would do homework here on my days off from work and although it may be busy, usually there is a table available. My go to drink is the ice white mocha - creamy, enough sweetness and refreshing! I got the coconut crème javiva today and it tasted perfect! They ran out of coconut whipped cream and offer to either make me a new one or top it off w/regular whipped cream. I love the coconut whip cream so I just said it was okay with how much the guy had put. Asking for reassurance and I confirmed, he then gave me a next time medium drink is on them card!! Wow! Great coffee and terrific nice setting here. I am a long time Starbuck's fan and was about to go to the Starbucks (across the street) and this is MUCH better. Smooth coffee, good service.But what set this place apart was the great setting - comfy chairs, big, wifi, a basket of newspaper to dig through and the crowd was nice, friendly, cute and trendy. I have been going to this location for about a year and it has been consistently hit and miss. More miss of late. Here are my two main issues. One, my mochas have little to no chocolate in them. Milky espresso is pretty vile in my book. And two, which is my biggest pet peeve! They will fill my cup is less than 3/4 full. This is pure laziness from the barista. You're rushing my drink and I end paying for foam. On a mocha. For these two reasons I have been avoiding this location of late. Makes me sad cause when they do it right the coffee there is superior to most places. I'm just sick of rolling the dice every morning. Three months later... I went back this morning, because let's be honest their coffee is delicious! Ordered a small mocha, got to work only 3/4 full. There is no excuse for that kind of laziness, the barista did not even have the excuse of it being busy. And with that I'm officially done. read more

Smug and rude! I walked in and immediately got in line with only one person ahead of me. I was pulling up my Peetnik app so I would be ready to check in and pay right away. Dylan was behind the counter and called the guy behind me forward. I asked what that was all about and he smugly said that he would help the next guest out since I was busy texting on my phone. Sometimes, when I want to find a place to relax and revise my study, hot latte will definitely be my go-to coffee afternoon.
