First off, I love the food here. However the customer service at this location has soured me to this location. My wife and I ordered dinner to go. When we got home it was missing an appetizer we ordered. No big deal, we thought we'd just call and get it refunded. First I got put on hold for like five minutes only to be disconnected and then when I called back no one answered. Plenty of other locations to go to and I would suggest doing just that. read more

I usually order the Gluten Free Sweet and Sour Chicken and Honey Seared chicken. The only thing that kinda sucks is the Togo portion seems smaller. I dined here tonight for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised. I really wanted sushi but Hibashi is no longer doing happy hour sushi at the bar on fridays. Which we found out after ordering a drink... Anyhow, we decided to check out Pei Wei after a quick iPhone Yelping. It was in our price range and the menu on their site was appealing. I ordered a beef teriyaki bowl and my wife ordered the kung pow chicken. We also ordered the spring roll appetizer. I was pleased with how, for lack of a better term, fresh the food was. It was to chinese food what Chipotle is to mexican food. "Gringo-ized" but good unlike Chiptole. $20 fed both of us and we brought leftovers home. I will definitely be going back. read more

I need to go back. My problem was that I wasn't told my food was going to take 20 minutes. It's a sit down fast food chinese restaurant. I had a meeting and didn't have 20 minutes to wait for my food. I told the cashier and before I could even finish my sentence she refunded 100% of my money and asked me to wait a few more minutes so I can get my food. That act alone will bring me back. I'll just plan for more time. KUNG PAO CHICKEN: Very good. The chicken was tasty and the brown rice was cooked perfectly. We went here today for lunch. I've been to two other Pei Wei locations and it had quickly become our favorite "fast food" chain. This location is pretty nice. My hubby tried the Manderin Beef and I had the Dan Dan noodles. My Dan Dan noodles were amazingly good but my complaint was with my husband's dish. They made it extremely salty, it was almost inedible. We didn't get to it for a while (shared mine first) and it would seem odd to send it back 20 minutes after receiving it, so we ate it. It wasn't up to par with the usual quality we love at Pei Wei. This complaint aside, Pei Wei a good place if you want tasty, quick food on a budget. The decor is nice, the no tipping necessary policy (my favorite part of the chain) saves you a couple of bucks right there. I'm not a restaurant fanatic because I really hate having waiter/waitresses hovering around me and filling up my water. So Pei Wei is a good option for me. All dishes are 6-9 bucks and their portions are nice and big. read more

While it's cool that they do many different styles of Asian cuisine, Pei Wei should have chosen just one or two. And then done them right. I've tried the thai, Chinese, and a couple of their salads and have not been impressed by any of them. There's no way that I'll try the Japanese! The salad dressing tasted weird, the pad Thai was extra coconutty, the pork rolls were bland, and their tofu tasted/looked funny. The best thing that I've gotten from here was the fortune cookie! The spring rolls weren't bad either, but they were dripping with oil. Note: I tried to send a message through the corporate site but they only allowed for 1/4 of what I wanted to say... The Addison location has long been a favorite lunch stop for my co-workers and me. We've been on many occasions in the past 6+ years. Much to our dismay the most recent experience was not quick or good. I ordered a Poke bowl, veggie spring rolls and a water. I was given such a small cup for water that I asked for a larger cup. I was told no, that management had said they could not give out larger cups and refused a larger cup. Instead I had to ask for two smaller cups so I wouldn't have to get up every 5 minutes to get water. My friend ordered a cooked meal, crab wontons and a drink. While the appetizers and my poke bowl arrived fairly quickly, my friends meal however, did not appear to be arriving. It was clear the store was having issues. In the time we sat there, 4 other patrons asked for refunds because their food had not arrived. The man sitting next to us waited over 45 minutes for his food and then left before it arrived. After about 45 minutes of waiting ourselves for my friends dish to arrive, she also asked for a refund and we left. The manager issued a refund without so much as an apology or smile, or acknowledgement of what was happening. The restaurant was clearly in disarray. The food runner was also the food busser and tables were not being cleaned in an efficient manner. The whole feel of the Pei Wei was tense and it did not feel welcoming or feel like a place I would like to return to anytime soon. It is apparent that Pei Wei has some major management and quality control issues. Until these items are addressed I won't be returning to any Pei Wei, and ESPECIALLY the Addison location. read more

This place is horrible. My son always wants to go to Pei Wei and we've had some pretty bad experiences at Preston/Forest, so I said we could go but we had to go to Beltline. I've put him off for ages about going to Pei Wei because we've had such bad experiences. Well lo and behold it was worse at Beltline. They didn't have two types of sushi, well I guess they didn't have one type of sushi since they use one type for two offerings on the menu. How do they not have sushi? Ordered shrimp fried rice which I really didn't want. Son ordered chicken chow mein. We also ordered edamame. That was the only edible part of the meal. My food was bad. It wasn't hot (had to have been heated in a microwave because it was heated unevenly), it had no flavor at all even with soy sauce, the rice was too soft and didn't have a good texture, the shrimp wasn't tasty at all. My son felt the same way about his chicken chow mein. I'd echo another reviewer and say our food was pre-cooked, maybe frozen, and re-heated. Who are they kidding? We left about one-third of the way through the meal. I've never left so much food on the table and it cost $28. BTW, it was freezing in the restaurant and it was only 52 degrees outside. You could tell the staff didn't care to be there, and didn't care to be working since they were on their phones. There were no Coke products at all. The syrups for Diet Coke were next to the machine but I gather no one felt like doing their job and putting them into the machine. We've had many of the same problems as I'm seeing other people have posted with respect to calling and no one answering, long waits for picking up food, long waits in the restaurant (all at Preston/Forest). Pei Wei clearly has no desire to continue as a business since they're doing such a pathetic job with food and service, and hiring employees who don't care at all. They've closed Preston/Frankford so I would imagine that that will happen to this location and at Preston/Forest. Don't bother with the Renner/Plano Rd location either. They can't get an order correct. They deserve to close. Finally, based on the number of bad reviews and the "we're so sorry this was your experience" replies to posts from some kind of management, and the fact that this place is still horrible, they're clearly not sorry for anyone's experience. For me Pei Wei is always Expensive compared to what you are getting. I can whip up a dish similar to this at home for about $3. Pei Wei cost is about $15. My Experience today was I ordered and after 20 minute wait I told a Staff person that I had not received my food. 10 minutes later the Staff person came by again and I still didn't have my food, I asked if I could get it to go. Eventually the Staff member brought my food to me. Total time from order to receive food 45 minutes. Pei Wei is supposed to be healthy, but when it is Stressful just to get your food and get back to the office in under an hour, I think there are many, many better options in the Addison Area. read more

Me and my roommate went there just now and we were 2 of the only people in the restaurant. I ordered a regular sized sesame chicken with the new cauliflower rice to go. We took our food home and when I opened it, it was a soupy mess, and hardly full. There were probably 6 tiny strips of chicken that were way overcooked, and hardly any rice in a pool of liquid. It was disgusting. If I had been at the restaurant I would have returned it bit I wasn't about to take 15 min and drive back there so I just threw it away. I will not be going back. read more

On Saturday I wanted take-out. Website showed they close at 10 but when I arrived at 9:15, they had already locked their doors, one of the employee looked at me and looked away trying to avoid me. Seeing that it's around the holidays, I let it slide. The next day, i called them 3 times to order takeout and they picked up the phone and hung up all 3 times. I went into the store and noticed someone called and saw they hung up on them as well. The lady taking order was overwhelmed and did not seem welcoming. Arrived today with my mother and grandmother to have a nice lunch and while the food was great the staff left much to be desired. My mother ordered a bowl of wonton soup and before she could even put her spoon down this older woman with short brown hair put her hand on the bowl and asked if she was finished, not wanting to make waves my mother said "yes I guess so now." I then put a plate to the side I was not done with and she took that plate as well. I then told her maam we were not done and her response was, "look I asked if you were finished, you said yea that is called courtesy." If you hire staff please make sure not to hire an ill mannered older woman who clearly has no customer service skills and lacks proper training! We will not be returning to this location ever again. Service is awful. I feel for the cashiers, as they seem frantic and short staffed. Bathroom is dirty and not well maintained. I went in there for some wonton soup to go, waited forever for it and realized once I opened it at home, that there were no dumplings or anything in it. I just paid $5 for a tub of broth. I called them to let them know that I was unhappy with my order and the phone literally rang for three minutes straight with no one answering. I gave up. I saw many customers get upset or annoyed, but I also saw the staff respond very professionally and courteously. I have been to this location several times and have never had issues with my order or the service. After attending a networking event in Addison, I decided to eat at a place where I have frequented before because I was tired and did not want any surprises. I was happy to see Pei Wei so close to the hotel, so I reluctantly entered the restaurant 30 minutes before closing and placed my order. I approached the counter, surveyed the menu and eventually gave my order which took over 5 minutes because they assumed that my order was taken? While waiting for at least 20 minutes along with 2 other patrons, we noticed that the cooks were cleaning up and not cooking our meals because the woks were not being used. Then, one of the other customers asked about their take-out items because he had been waiting for close to an hour. The manager addressed the gentlemen and stated that they did not receive an order, and then this conversation went back and forth. The manager should have accepted fault and expedited his order instead of explaining the ordering process. Eventually, the cooks stopped cleaning and prepared a few meals while the manager had a very loud conversation with the gentleman's wife about the phantom order. After 30 grueling minutes of listening to this botched order, all 3 to-go meals were given to each customer which were not large orders, and I was quite disappointed with the service because the dining room had 2 separate tables being used and the staff was too busy trying to close. I then went to my hotel to eat my long awaited meal. The crab rangoons were perfect, but the Korean chicken was very disappointing because the chicken was tough and it had a peculiar smell...maybe it was precooked. Finally, service was poor and the staff was more interested in closing then serving food. For the price, panda express would have been better and much quicker. read more

Came in for lunch today and I have never seen worse service. Me and my boyfriend ordered on the same ticket, and for some reason his food comes out first, and I'm wondering were mines is for a good 10 minutes. I hear this large woman in the back yelling to the kitchen that she doesn't know where to take this plate of food, and they start arguing. Next thing I know, she brings my plate over, I ask for the garnish and the appetizer we were supposed to have, and she half throws it on our table without saying anything. The attitude of this woman gets worse when she starts yelling about somebody walking out in the kitchen, not being discreet at all as she starts yelling at other employees, and people are lining up at the door wanting them to stop arguing and start taking orders. The other customers in the restaurant are just looking on at this mess. I see a woman at another table have to get up to get her own food, and everyone is just fed up with the poor system and terrible attitudes. It should be embarrassing to have an employee behave that way in front of customers, and to see other customers having to complete the duties of the employees or even offer to relay their order directly to the kitchen instead of going through a cashier ( because no one was there to take orders ). Embarrassing!!! I love the food, but this location always has something wrong with it, especially the staff. Try a different location, it'll probably be better than what I and a few others just experienced. read more

Quality seems to have gone down substantially. I ordered Spicy Chicken with broccoli for the only vegetable. The order came out incorrect, but that happens. What was worse was the portion and meat pieces. Pei Wei used to have chunks of chicken - I'd guess there were slices of chicken from a meat slicer set at 3/8 of an inch and then breaded. That means more of a "thin" chicken finger texture which overcooks easily. And meat quantity was lacking. It is notable the other Pei Weis seem to have the decline in quality. Too many other choices in Addison for me to visit this Pei Wei again. read more

This is my "go to" for Asian food when I don't have the time to drive to Jasmine's. I've never eaten here, just call in a To Go order. Parking bites and this place is packed at lunch so it's better to go really early or really late in the afternoon. The filling for the potstickers is prepared ahead of time so they are nothing to write home about. Mongolian beef is decent but the sauce is thick and sweet. The only really nice thing is that they will make it as spicy as you want. Overall, just "meh". read more

Also food seemed burnt and cold. Customer service was Terrible!!!!!! They also forgot to give me my large tea and I was so frustrated by the time I left I forgot to ask for it.
