Kudos to this location! I was on the fence between giving Pei Wei's a 3 star or 4 star review. I went with four stars solely because of convenience and speed when I place my takeout orders. Other than large catering orders slowing down the kitchen. When you place your order on their app. You will always have it ready at your listed ready time or before. Food is always fresh and piping hot! Never walked into a dirty dining area. Customer Service is always top notch. They will earn my business with this winning combination.

Stopped into Pei Wei in Avondale for lunch with my coworkers, and it checked all the boxes for a solid midday escape. The food came out hot, fresh, and impressively fast, always a win when you're racing the clock before the next meeting. Service was smooth, and the portions hit that sweet spot of "satisfying" without sending you into a full-on food coma at your desk afterward (though let's be honest, the 2 p.m. nap temptation is still real). The space is casual and comfortable, and it's the kind of place where everyone in the group can find something they like without a debate that takes up half the lunch hour. We all agreed we'd come back again. Four stars for tasty food, speedy service, and making us forget about work emails for at least 30 minutes.

Stopped by for a quick lunch and was more than satisfied! Their Vegetable Lo Mein was loaded with fresh veggies and the noodles were perfectly chewy. $25 for lunch for two these days is a good deal... Combined with tasty food, Pei Wei satisfies this vegetarian!

The food here is quite good when you're looking for something quick and a bit different from the usual Panda Express. I ordered the Kung Pao and opted to upgrade to fried rice instead of white rice. The dish was flavorful and satisfying.

It was okay, just. Clean Food was plentiful but best thing was the peas, rice was dry. Chicken was gummy, not crunchy or tender. Service was good and friendly!

I haven't been to this pei wei in a while. Probably 8 years. The reason, they never really carry anything I must have. Plus there are always a bunch of other amazing places to to try every time we want to eat out. But my husband remembered really liking their food at one point and we were next door to them, grabbing some batteries. I walk in and look at the menu. Not much for me to pick from that's not seafood or that looks appealing. I go with noodles and steak. I don't think I'll try it again

This is the cup you get for small drink. Granted you can refill, but this is ridiculous

Pre Covid, we frequented this Pei Wei often. Not sure what has happened but we will not return. Used to be better than it's sister store, PF ..., but not now. Took Hot and Sour soup of menu!?!? Dirty everywhere. Slow service. Seems like servings are smaller, main course served in plastic to go plates. Another victim of, Private Equity take over? Take the profits and not reinvest in business. So disappointing, especially considering how good it used to be.

Today we ordered a large order of different types of meat for a Mother's Day lunch at our house... this is RAW. Completely unsafe and unacceptable on Pei Wei's part to be that careless. How do you not cook the steak at all??? Disgusting. You could definitely get someone seriously sick. Won't ever be going back to this location!

We've spent a lot here over the years and have always supported and recommended this location. That's why my son's recent experience was so disappointing. He stopped in to get some work done, something he's done many times during slow hours. Sometimes he buys something, sometimes he doesn't, and it has never been an issue. This has always been a welcoming place. This time, a staff member told him he couldn't sit and work unless he purchased something. What made it worse was the explanation: a table of eight older gentlemen "didn't like" that he was sitting there working, and that was the reason he needed to leave or buy something. It wasn't busy, it wasn't about space, and it wasn't about a policy. It was simply another group of customers not liking his presence, and the staff acting on that. After years of loyalty, that was incredibly disappointing. If there's a new policy, that's fine, just communicate it clearly and apply it consistently. Asking a long‑time customer to leave because another table "didn't like" them is not acceptable. This experience genuinely made us rethink continuing to support this location.

We actually followed the owners here after frequenting their previous coffee shop, En Route. When they opened New Penny, supporting them was an easy decision. The café is thoughtfully divided into two distinct spaces: a family-friendly dining area and a lounge-style bar area geared more toward adults. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and inviting. There are house-made dishes, local merchandise, a shaded patio, and plenty of charm throughout. My wife's favorites are the Breakfast Totchos and the Acai Bowl. Personally, I am also a loyal Breakfast Totchos fan. As for drinks, the Copper Coin and the legendary Cowboy Latte are both worth ordering. What truly sets New Penny apart, however, is the people. The owners and staff have created a space that feels inclusive, welcoming, and genuinely connected to the community. Support local businesses. Better yet, support local businesses that are doing things the right way. Get to know the owners. Get to know the staff. Since we are vegetarian, we have to ask extra questions about sauces, stocks, and hidden meat ingredients. Miguel was extremely helpful with navigating the menu and made sure the items with meat stock were removed or avoided. That kind of care matters a lot. The food was also pretty good. I had the South of the Border Omelette, and my wife had the burrito. Both were solid, and Miguel's service made us feel taken care of instead of like we were being difficult for asking questions. We've been coming here since Sushi Love first opened,…read moreand in the beginning this place was on top of things, the servers were friendly and attentive, and while the kitchen could be a little slow at times, it was never anywhere near as bad as what we experienced today. Here's the timeline from when we arrived to when we finally received everything: 12:10 - Seated 12:20 - Finally able to order drinks and food 12:27 - Received my single sushi roll 12:54 - Guest received his entree 1:04 - Just received our gyoza appetizer It took over 10 minutes after being seated before the waitress even got us water. I was trying to look up other restaurants in the area because we were about to leave. What made this even more confusing was that it was a Sunday right after opening, and the restaurant wasn't even busy. Because the appetizer took so long, I ended up splitting my single sushi roll with my guest so he wouldn't have to sit there hungry while waiting on his food. Even then, it still took over 30 minutes for his entree to arrive, which was ridiculous considering it was just one dish. The most frustrating part was waiting nearly 45 minutes for a single appetizer order of gyoza. We were honestly close to leaving before it ever arrived, and I would have left still hungry. If the appetizer had come out in a reasonable amount of time, I could have actually enjoyed the roll I came there for in its entirety instead of having to split it just so we could get by while waiting. The pacing of the food also made no sense. Appetizers should come out before entrees, not after everything else. Instead, one person was eating while the other sat there waiting, which made the entire experience awkward and frustrating. If the waitress paced things correctly it would have made a huge difference and likely helped prevent the kitchen from getting backed up. On top of that our waitress never apologized for the delays or acknowledged the excessive wait times, not even after we waited over 10 minutes just to get water. She did repeatedly asked if we "needed anything else" while we were still waiting on food. Like, yes, we needed the food we already ordered? Overall, the experience felt extremely disorganized and uncaring from both the service staff and the kitchen. What's especially disappointing is that this wasn't our first bad experience here. This is now the second visit in a row where we've dealt with extremely slow service and a noticeable lack of attentiveness (last time we were there they forgot some food, not only ours but also a table next to us). This place used to be good, which makes the decline even more frustrating, the kitchen needs an overhaul or something. Sushi is good and not as slow but ordering anything from the kitchen or getting drinks is like pulling teeth to get. Sushi Love isn't a huge restaurant, so it's hard to understand how things have become this disorganized. We gave the restaurant another chance hoping things would improve, but this was by far the worst experience we've had here.
