On our way out, we met the manager, Jose, who I had to compliment about the condition of the store. He said he has been there 1.5 months and had focused on cleanliness. We hadn't been to Pei Wei in quite a while, so after a long, hot day at the baseball fields, we decided to grab takeout. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The edamame was served cold and had no salt at all, and the pot stickers were also cold, doughy, and seemed undercooked. We expected a much better experience, especially from the Woodlands, TX location. Hopefully this was just an off day, because we'd like to give them another chance. read more

Some of my favorite childhood memories was coming to this pei Wei and getting teriyaki chicken kids meal (no vegetables) and using the kids chopstick helpers. Coming back 10 years later, I am devastated to see this place has lost all originality, charm, and deliciousness. Please, go look through the first photos of this location posted on Yelp, and use that as inspiration for your next renovation. Also, this was the first place I had ever used a freestyle Coke machine, it was the most fun thing 10 years ago!! Now they just have regular ones... I will say, the family meals are a good value for how much food you get. Taste is eh though. But please please please revert your teriyaki chicken recipe back to the old one. Your stars are dropping I walked in and the remodel looks like a glorified fast food joint if I wanted to go to panda I would've gone there not impressed with the food at all. Prices are the same and the quality is less probably better at panda for the money at this point not sure I'll be back to this location here in Houston But may try another one while I'm on the road not happy with the new concept. I've been wanting Chinease food for a few weeks now. I've actually been having a hard time finding one I really like. I heard about Pei Wei so I decided to try it eventhough it's a chain. They also have added wings to their menu. Unfortunately. I only got pictures of one thing I ordered and that was the chicken lettuce wrap. I REALLLLLLLLLLLY LIKED IT. it was a little sweet and filling without feeling bad afterwards. We also ordered the orange chicken and general tso chicken with fried rice. I like those as well. My only suggestion to you is if you can, eat it while it's fresh as possible. If it has too long to sit, it gets kind of soggy-like. But if you like that, then great. Lastly we got the wings. They were all good BUT if I get them again, I will ask them to make them almost well done. They weren't cooked well. Some of them had raw parts inside. It made me sad because the flavors were good. Ambiance was good. It was clean and the customer service was nice. I ordered online, so it was a grab and go. Next time. I will sit inside. read more

I love Pei Wei, but this location stunned me to my core since every experience I've ever had at Pei Wei was phenomenal. When we first walked in, we weren't greeted or felt welcome. The cashier/expeditor only said "cash or card" and pointed to a register. I started to order after he typed some stuff in, he interrupted me and said "here or to go". We were stunned. I noticed while ordering he had AirPods in and that he couldn't HEAR ME!!! AND WAS SINGING ALONG WHILE IM ORDERING!!! I had to repeat myself a couple of times because he didn't hear my order. We got the food very promptly but the portion sizes definitely seemed smaller than other locations. We barely got any fried rice in the dish and the chicken was very dry. Once he dropped off our food, we noticed he was just playing on his phone sitting on the floor near the register area. If you want to go to a closer and better Pei Wei, we suggest going to Cypress' location. Decided to visit Pei Wei again after many years. I was apprehensive- because i couldn't exactly pen point why I hadn't visited in such a long time but I once I received my order- all the thoughts of why I stayed away- came back! Even though the packaging with good- I proceeded with caution- once i got home. I was hopeful - but knew I made a terrible mistake. I ordered the lettuce wraps, pork egg roll, and the chicken noodle (lo mein), with added shrimp. The egg roll was edible, the lettuce rolls are decent- but the lo mein - goodness - it was so bad! I should have settled for top ramen - it literally had no flavor , the chicken was oddly cut and there was a milky substance at the bottom- I tried to eat it but I ended up Throwing it away. Puzzled by the low reviews here. If you like pf changs, you will love going here. Same food, but served faster and cheaper. There are some items that are different and equally delicious, like the tofu options and the thai donuts. They do have beer and wine that are reasonably priced, unlike pf changs, which is getting too expensive. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of food that came on the entree. I also like that the restaurant posts the calories, that in itself narrows the choices. For example, I would have expected the tofu to be lower calorie, but it was one of the highest. I ordered the chicken and broccoli, and couldn't finish it. Mind you, it was great, but there was a lot of food. The shrimp appetizer was very tasty. On the other hand, the pot stickers were served cold, not even warm. I preordered my food online the previous day and still had to wait outside the restaurant for ten minutes. There were several people waiting ahead of me and behind me, as well. The general tso's chicken tasted artificial and I felt like I was chewing on deep fried plastic. The beef from the beef and broccoli plate tasted like burnt jerky. The chicken lettuce wraps were saltier than the Galveston bay water. The fried rice was dryer than a Popeyes biscuit. This joint should be rated number one in the worst "Chinese food" take outs.
