Craving Chinese food and this place just wasn't what I expected. Fried rice was bland. Food was edible. Don't think I'll be back.

Came here for my sons birthday lunch. Food was good. They never brought out our egg rolls which we ordered and never got them at any point during our visit. Ca young girl brought half of our food out, and it took 10 min. For the other half to come out. Before she walked away we asked if she could bring two forks because they were completely out of forks at the condiment bar. She was short about it and gave us a "what do I look like look." When she came back with the rest of our parties food, we asked again for two forks. She said just a min and went inside. 5 min later I sent my son to go see if they had any forks at the condiment bar and it was full. The girl apparently took it personal that we had the nerve to ask her for forks. We would have gotten them ourselves if they weren't out to begin with. I didn't care too much I had planned on leaving a review one way or the other. I was just leaving it up to them to wether it would be bad or good. read more

I've been coming to this location for years but today was by far the best time. The Manager saw that we had 4 small children and immediately began helping us get settled. He made sure we had everything we needed so that myself and my husband were not tussling with the kids. He also rewarded my daughter for being on the honor roll. If you like to wait over an hour... Get served the wrong food even after waiting WAY too long you get served... This is the place for you! When we went in after 7 on a recent Sunday we should have turned around a left like so many others because of wait time. We were told maybe 35 minutes. They even ran out of some of the menu items. If I could just not give a star at all, it would be a far more appropriate rating - and not just because we walked away before we could even give an order, but because of the awful, sour, couldn't care less attitude of the counter staff. The place was overwhelmed at 7:45 on a Sunday night - largely due to inadequate staffing and aforementioned apathy of those that were working, evidently. There was a line of at least 5 angry customers waiting for their take-out orders, all of which were over 10 minutes late with no estimation of when their food might actually come out. One justifiably upset customer complained to the young man at the counter - the employee's response? To stare blankly at the customer and say "Yeah. We're busy." Didn't go over well. We got to the dine-in counter (angry customer was still reaming the take out guy). The cashier sighed and rolled her eyes when we said we'd like to order take-out. She said, "Yeah, it'll be, like, a 40 minute wait," and then just stared at us. We praised her for her charming, pleasant attitude and walked away...with another angry would-be customer storming out after us. FAIL, Pei Wei. Not even 'Nice try' - just fail. read more

No. Just no. The service is unbearably slow. We watched our completed dishes waiting for pickup for 7 minutes! Asian food is best as hot as possible but Luke warm. No. Then, our appetizers didn't arrive until we prompted the over-worked server. They arrived in time for desert. The pasta was undercooked, hard and sometimes crunchy. The pad Thai sauce was brown water; or so it seemed. No. Without a doubt a once promising chain has now been permanently scratched from our list. This is the 4th bad experience at 4 restaurants. Sad. I spoke with customer service and was offered a free meal to "try" the service again. The manager on duty was so RUDE!! I wanted to climb across the counter and slap her. The other employees looked embarrassed and the other customers were in shock!! I haD been eating at this location weekly for 8 months but NO MORE!! We travel almost every weekend between Houston and Dallas. We have stopped for dinner here before and it has been fine. This evening it was DISGUSTING! It was busy and it took over an hour to get our first dish. We ordered lo mein and the noodles were disgusting. They we so old and mushy, they stuck together. We told the server we could not eat them. 20 minutes later our "fried rice" came out. It was 1/2 white & lumpy! I asked to speak to the manager as this was not worth the wait not to mention the money. She would not come out and speak to us. We left the food on the table untouched. The bus boy asked us if we had ever been there during high volume. He said never come here during high volume time. Disgusting! We will now go find another Resturant to eat at. read more

Ordered online and paid online. Good was hot and delicious. I ordered extra lettuce for my lettuce wraps but did not receive them. My 2 complaints are that that lady employee behind the counter was smacking her gum while putting together our order, which I consider to be extremely unsanitary. The other complaint is they didn't go over the order with me, so I was crossing my fingers that everything was in there - which it wasn't. read more

Nice place to get your fix for Asian food. Quality is overall pretty good. Customer service is friendly. All I wish is that they would answer their phone so I can have my order ready upon arrival. Called them multiple times in a row and no response. When I got their The didn't seem to be that busy or packed. A little skeptical. The food is good though, wait time is usually 25-30 minutes but I always try to occupy myself or run a quick errand while waiting. read more

It was pretty quiet for lunchtime when I went in, but it still felt crowded. Food was so so. I got some Thai Siracha thing that was supposed to be spicy, but wasn't at all. I did not see any Siracha to add either / you would think they would have that here. All in all, not impressed. read more

A year ago the food and service was okay. Present day food and service is some of the worst out there! The place was dirty and it just tasted like leftovers someone in the kitchen saved from their previous nights dinner from chef chans. Not exactly sure what happened but once they started changing the menu a year or so ago it was clearly the beginning of the end for this already mediocre eating establishment. Sad. read more

First let me say that I love Pei Wei and I eat at this location at least 3 times a week for lunch and always order the same thing. Today I was very unhappy with my food and service . I ordered online and arrived at the time my food was scheduled to be ready for pick up. Once I walked in I waited about 10 minutes to get my to go order and once I finally received it the order was wrong . They had loaded my salad with dressing to the point it was drenched and it had nothing in it except chicken and lettuce (all other veggies were missing). They acted as if I should accept that salad until I said no, then the re made it, which meant I had to wait even longer. Finally, the guy sat my bag on the counter and helped other people as I waited to pay for my food. He looked up and ask can I help you with something else? I said yes I still need to pay for my food! I think this place needs some help at the cashier and ordering station, they are always so busy and running around like crazy. I know this location is busy so maybe consider a few extra employees during the lunch rush? read more

Ordered online for pickup. When I got there, it was not ready. I was asked to check my email. I showed the guy at the register my email where it said order received. He went over to a computer where he printed out several online orders and then came back to tell me it was just received. That was because nobody checked the online orders. I told him I would wait in the car. 15 minutes later he brought my order to the car. 2 pork egg rolls and lettuce wraps. Sorry to say the egg rolls had no flavor. It was like they had no seasoning in them. They were crispy and the vegetables were good, but just tasted bland. The lettuce wraps had way too much lettuce, tiny amount of rice sticks and they we're soggy since there was way too much lettuce. In the entree it was 3x's lettuce to 1 portion meat. In all honesty, most of the entree was lettuce. I know things are difficult now, but I can go to the store and buy a head of iceberg lettuce to eat, if that is all I wanted. Whatever manager worked lunch shift on 3/18/19 was great. I was calling in UPSET because I ordered lettuce wraps from doordash and received the core of the lettuce. The manager handled the situation so appropriately that I am not even mad anymore. He even offered to bring me some lettuce to my place of business. read more

I'm very disappointed in the size of lettuce for the lettuce wraps it was no more than 3 inches long also i had comformation that I had paid for the order online and when I went to pick it up and was told I did not pay online but I did so I paid again to not be difficult but since it was with a credit card I have to wait for my statement to see if I need a refund. read more

When I want a quick, delicious meal, I think Pei Wei. I can order and expect a hot bowl to arrive at my table within minutes. However, after visiting this location, my opinion has forever changed. My experience here was so terrible that I know I will never go to Pei Wei again. The tables were piled with dirty dishes and when I finally flagged someone down to wipe off of a table for me, he acted like he'd never done the job before and took my drink with him. There was only one server bringing dishes to tables every ten minutes or so, but he acted like he couldn't read the number signs. Time after time, this idiot circled the restaurant asking "who has the sushi? Where is number thirty five?" After an HOUR of sitting waiting for my meal, I went to the counter and the shitty excuse of a host said "he didn't know" how much longer it would be and that they were "eight tables behind." How is that possible at a glorified Panda Express? At least I got a refund, but I'm very upset that over an hour of my day was wasted waiting for subpar Asian fusion cuisine. Never again, Pei Wei. Your food isn't even that great and now I see what a terrible chain this really is. read more

We tried to call for an order and they never answered. When we went to the restaurant the cashier was very rude and insisted that they were busy so they couldn't answer the phone, yet the phone was ringing as we came in the restaurant, there was another man waiting for a to-go order that they didn't even acknowledge, and there was a long wait line because of the such slow-pace the cashier was working at. This location does not have the necessary amount of staff to function properly, and there is clearly minimal training. read more

They're too interested in a fast turn around to make any quality food. Just got served VERY undercooked chicken. Luckily they gave me a full refund, but they are going to kill someone unless they learn how to prepare poultry. read more

The "management" of this place is horrible ! Placed an online order 20 min before I needed it, got there and paid and waited another 30 min and FINALLY asked the cashier how much longer - he said 20 min and I asked for my money back. The "manager" was not apologetic at all. Tried them one more time a week later as a walk in and the food was cold, but plate was warm. The crab wontons were not a good quality. The cashier at that time said the manger had quite and most of the staff had given 2 weeks notice too ! Horrible ! read more

This PeiWei has gone downhill. My beef broccoli had tiny pieces of mushed broccoli, which the manager agree to exchange for another dish. Presentation and portion size have diminished considerably. read more

Very dirty, incredibly slow service and not very friendly. The taste was not up to par to other pei Wei locations.

We used to go to Peiwei all the time and loved it, but they started slacking on the sauce and not wanting to put it in the dishes so we quit going 3 years ago. We thought we'd try it again tonight and I'm sad to say it hasn't changed. It was so dry without that sauce. We will not be going back. We will stick to our Chinese restaurant on Rayford Rd, Hunan Jade. It is sooo good and fresh and the pricing is very reasonable. read more

We ordered online to pick up at store and when arrived at store, waited 20 minutes for the order to be concluded, was not even offered to have the late item not charged (por customer service). Got home, and order was missing one entree, we called to get item refunded to the card, since we would not drive back there to pick it up! This was not the first time we had a wrong order or item missing at this location. We also went there for lunch one weekend and food was taking long time since cooker arrived late. I really like this place. Clean, friendly service and nice atmosphere. Especially liked the prices. The food is similar in quality to PF Changs (same owners). I like that you do not have a wait service, it makes it a little more casual. You can sit where you like and aren't bothered. The only complaint I have is lack of non- meat options. I'm not a vegetarian, but occasionally like to skip meat. The fried rice didn't have the flavor you would get at PF changs, and a little dry. Also, no salt/ pepper on tables. The mongolian beef tasted as good as PF changs. Overall- love this place, and it is kid friendly which is a bonus!! read more

Good food. I always order the original lettuce wraps or the tofu with mixed veggies. The noodles are super greasy and unappetizing, wontons and edamame are super delicious. Staff could be a little more courteous. It's a good Asian fix. read more

we went in for a quick bite with the kiddos. The egg rolls came out first and were dripping with grease. I rolled mine in a napkin to try and absorb for the most part, no such luck, bit into the egg roll and grease poured out. Needless to say we did not eat them. Then our food came out, my kids got the honey chicken which was pretty good, my kung pao chicken was ok and my husband ordered the brocolli and ginger beef. It tasted like it was just recooked from yesterday's batch and doused in sauce. My husband never sends food back but he did this time and asked for a new batch, same thing. The best fast Asian food in town. The spring rolls are always fresh, crispy, hot and delicious.

The food here is really good and the staff is pleasant. However, this place is run very poorly. When I call, i wait on hold for a long time. So, I started ordering online. Because of this, I get coupons through email but they don't always work online. When I ask for the coupon to be applied in store, the manager rolls their eyes and says I need to put it in online and begrudgingly applies a discount. If your order takeout from here, make sure you check your order. I have received other people's food, and often things are missing from my order. Today, I got to the store at the time my online order was estimated to be ready only for the staff to then inform me that they do not have integral ingredients to complete my order. Why didn't they call so I wouldn't have to wait? I gave my new order verbally directly to the chef and it was still wrong (asked for broccoli but they gave me snap peas, which I detest). Oh, and my sauce on the side was missing so I'm expected to eat dry rice and snap peas. I love the food here but I will not be returning. read more

We've been fans of Pei Wei for years but this location is quickly changing that. Several months ago we waited 40 minutes for our food that came out tasting all the same. After that we steered clear for awhile. Today we went with family. The edemame and one entre salad came out very quickly and then we waited for 30 minutes to get food for the other 7 diners. When I asked the manager what was the problem he gave us 2 gift cards for $10 each. We weren't interested in getting free food.....just timely food. I wonder what has happened to the great management we got used to in the beginning. read more

We went to Pei Wei last week after a very long day. My brain was fried. I had looked at the gluten free menu on my phone, so when I ordered sweet and sour chicken for my daughter, in my very fried mind I was ordering gluten free. Duh. I also assumed, my fault, that when I ordered for my children that I was ordering children's portions. When I got the total, I was a little surprised to see $40 for 4 meals, 2 adults and 2 kids, but didn't process it. When we got our food, I realized I had ordered full portions. My husband said something and the waitress that delivered our food graciously offered to exchange it for a kid's portion. We said no since this was my fault. I was really nice of them to offer. Then we realized that my daughter's chicken was breaded. While she will not get deathly ill from eating wheat, my daughter has environmental allergies that are made much worse when she eats wheat. I went up to the counter to ask about switching it out for gluten free and they said no problem and even rushed the order. They didn't have to fix my mistake, but they did. Love Pei Wei. Always order the Mongolian Beef, but always forget to hold the 5 lbs of mushrooms! The Lo Mein is an excellent substitute for rice. The wonton soup is just okay. They overdue the green onions in it. I think it's a little on the expensive side but it's close and has a unique taste that I have acquired so......... read more

Not so good. Had the Teriyaki chicken owl for lunch. 5 small dry slices of chicken drowned in too much sauce. Topped off with the butt of every vegetable. The opinions were old and the cabbage was as hard as a rock. Advice to management: make the cooks eat what they make. read more
