I ordered Phad Thai with steak this last Friday through door dash. Let me tell you , it was disgusting. The steak was grizzly, chewy, all clumped together and tasted weird. Tofu was overcooked and the entire dish was very dry. I really hate writing bad reviews, especially on Pei Wei because I had many delicious meals here, that's why I gave it 3 stars. I should have taken a picture to show how gross the meat was, but I couldn't even stand to look at it. Whoever was the cook that made my food, clearly could care less. So disappointed. read more

I don't understand what is so hard about following directions? I told my husband my order and told him to make sure to tell them "sweet and sour sauce" not the soy or chili sauce. He said he told them and emphasized and they lady taking the order told them as well sweet and sour sauce and yet when he got home I have sweet chili sauce? I quite like Pei Wei. It is one of my go-to places for fast takeout. I've always felt the workers were pleasant and efficient. On one or two occasions, I've received my appetizer long after my entree but no biggie. I've tried a number of things: egg rolls, crab wontons (made with REAL crab), hot and sour soup, Kung Pao chicken, Pad Thai, steak and shrimp ramen. They have all been pretty excellent. I've even had a couple of their sushi rolls and thought they were good. If you like your food spicy, get the shrimp and steak chile ramen; it was really good but almost too spicy for me. I'm sad they got rid of the Bangkok peanut noodles; that was one of my favorites. I love their green tea, which has a hint of citrus to it. The one downfall is I can spend a lot of money here, because I want an appetizer, soup, and a drink in addition to my entree. It's not unheard of for me to spend $20 on myself, but I always have leftovers. There is an option to order a smaller portion on some of the dishes, and you can also order some as a salad instead of with rice if you like. read more

We had the Pad Thai and vietnamese spring rolls. The rolls were very good. The pad thai left much to be desired. The noodles were overcooked and gummy and needed more sauce. I found 2 shrimp that were not deveined. Gross. If it hadn't been for the peanut sauce that came with the spring rolls, we would not have been able to eat it, it was that dry. read more

I remember when this place used to be really good. I mean, it's still busy enough. But not as packed as it once was. There's a reason for it. The menu's updating quite a bit lately, and they've instituted a rewards program. Those aren't things you do when the Status Quo is working. Minor things, such as moving all the plates, napkins, and chopsticks to a single location and having customers get them themselves are other signs that they're pushing towards cost control which... don't look good. The main manager has stayed the same but the staff have undergone significant turnover. Which makes sense, you employ young part-timers who are on the career upswing, but the folks who used to be there were better trained and were... I don't know, friendlier. Maybe that's personal bias. The biggest concern though over the last few years is the food. It's chain-restaurant Asian food, so I understand this is not going to knock my socks off. That's fine. But meals are inconsistent, sometimes the sauces aren't even consistent, so each meal is different from the last. The biggest concern however, is with cross contamination of food. I ordered Mongolian Chicken my last visit which had carrot in it (Which is not part of the meal), and this is a minor issue. However, I've ordered Shrimp Pad Thai which has had steak and chicken in it before. Now, I happen to LIKE the idea of a "House" combo where it's a little of everything, but that is a MAJOR problem for anyone with any sort of health concern. I could not with a straight face tell someone that a dish is (Anything)-Friendly here. Not vegetarian, gluten, what have you. If you have a dietary restriction, you absolutely must avoid this location like the plague. There's other minor things... I order appetizers that come anywhere from a minute before to five minutes after my entree. The kitchen back room smells so strongly of chemicals that the tables nearby are unusable to anyone with a sense of smell, etc. But hey, I still show up once in a while like a sucker, seeing if they figured out how to recapture what they used to have. read more

This is an especially convenient location because it's just across the street from my office. Although I usually come here at around 2 PM, I have never seen it too packed in here and there is hardly ever a line. The restaurant is clean and decently-sized (although much smaller than other Pei Wei locations I have visited). The lunch menu is affordable and both the Traditional Chicken Lettuce Wraps and the Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps (both less than $8) have always been tasty and generously portioned. read more

With just under an hour for lunch, this is just the place if you are craving Asian food a step up (taste and price) from Panda Express. This is one of those reviews that I'm really hoping someone at management will read and deal with. I'm not someone who is obsessed with Pei Wei, but I have been there many times in many locations and its essentially a good, quick, fairly inexpensive Americanized pan-asian meal in a modern and inviting atmosphere. In just about every location Ive been, there are some nights that this place is just bustling--line out the door, all hands on deck. I've never really understood the mass appeal in that sense, but I agree there are some things this place does quite well. As a chain, I would give Pei Wei like 4-4.5 stars because they do what they do quite well, and its consistent and good. This location, however, has quite a bit of work that needs to be done with regards to the staff. I've been twice now: once during the busy hours of a Friday night around 8PM for a pickup order, and the other for a more calm Wednesday lunch. Ironically, the seemingly easier to handle lunch date was more difficult for the Pei Wei staff to handle. Everyone seemed to be in a bad mood, it took a long time for the order to come out, and when it did, I found hair in it. Gross. Further, the hedgehog-like server brought both my soup and my meal to me by dropping them onto my table and then quickly shuffling away without so much as a "here you go". It was rude, to say the least. I had never before tried their hot and sour soup, so I did. Don't bother. It tastes like beef broth and not much else. It was lacking in flavor and texture from the dearth of bamboo shoots, mushrooms and other veggies one would expect in HSS. Further, HSS should not have an overwhelming beef flavor. If anything, pork is the meat of choice...anyway, I could go on and on here because I love good HSS, but this is not that and that's all you need to know. The thing is, though, that Pei Wei makes a really fantastic Pad Thai. I will continue to come back for that, but my orders will probably stay in the take-out category. I want to emphasize that some restaffing needs to be done, or more staff training or something, because I normally enjoy Pei Wei. At this point, however, I wouldn't even remotely consider eating in again at this location. read more

Menu kind of mimics the PF Chang's chain to some degree. At the counter I ordered the Mongolian Beef with white rice and got a six count order of the eggrolls. The cashier tilted her head to the side as to look and see if there was somebody standing behind me. Not seeing anyone she gave me a once over to sized me up, looked at the register, provided my dinner total (which was about $16), and gave me a table stand with my order number. When the server arrived I realized why the cashier had that strange look on her face. The eggrolls are not the dumpling size you get at PF Chang's. They were the size of a roll of fifty cent pieces and I had six of em. Well I didn't finish them and had to get a carry out box. The Mongolian Beef portion was pretty healthy and very flavorful. I once liked Pei Wei. The Innovative modular menu and the Americanized Chinese food which was not in anyway authentic but which was appealing. Unfortunately they've gone down the road of pop culture far too much. The last time I went I had Dan Dan noodles which I've had in many restaurants all over the world. Basically it's a slightly spicy ground beef and noodle dish. Pei Wei's version is made with chicken I know that I've had it there before. Only, in its latest iteration it's sweet. This dish is never sweet. And in fact that's the case with their whole menu everything has been sweetened and more sauce been put on it. There are some other touch I don't like for instance if you want water they give you a very small glass. And then there are your fellow diners at the self-service setup station many of which will stand there for a long time hogging the entire setup completely unaware that there's anyone else trying to get in any of the condiments or beverages. All in all the food is no longer good and the dining experience is not pleasant. read more

As a vegetarian I'm always looking for places with good vegetarian food and this place was great! The girl who took my order was very sweet and friendly, and the food was ready quickly as well. My tofu was perfectly seasoned and had a wonderful texture (something that's hard to come by!) and overall the food was great! It even reheated well, which is nice since portions are large enough that one bowl could last for two meals, which for a college student on a budget is a nice thing. Pei Wei, I'd have given you five stars myself but I thought I'd just quote my kids this time (ages 6, 8, 10). "We LOVE the Coke machine!" (144 flavor combinations.) "I want more of Dad's Dynomite chicken!" (Thai Dynomite is one of my favs.) "Look at ALL those fortune cookies!" (Then I slap hands, informing them one-apiece) "What's IN this rice that makes it so yummy?!" (That's the magic, I say, straight faced. They hire elves from Santa - that's why Pei Wei is closed on Christmas Day.) "Can I have some of yours?!" (Our table looks like a dorm room disaster, with plates everywhere, each with a sampling of rice and meats, sauces and leftover bits of egg rolls. Hands are reaching between plates to try whatever suits their fancy - and everything suits their fancy. I just like saying suits and fancy. Fancy suits. See?) "Show me how to use the chapstick again." (They mean chop stix, but I love hearing them say it so I rarely correct them.) So yeah... fantastic food, always hot and fresh, with good options for lighter cooking styles (rubbish, I say - bring on the original!) and great sides. Pei wei is a HUGE favorite at my work - and that's saying something for a picky crowd that loves to eat out for lunch, considering there are a LOT of great choices nearby. The meats are always tender - never a gristly bit. The rice is always perfect - never clumped or mushy. The food is always hot, even the egg rolls, which some places tend to have laying around on a warmer til someone orders them (but not here).
