Walked in and was glad to see lots of vegetarian options. I got the ginger broccoli with veggies and tofu and brown rice and boy, my dish was drenched with the sauce. It was too salty in my opinion. Typically, I'd probably send it back but being on an hour lunch, I don't have the time. I just built a wall with the rice and picked at my dish. I've been to several pei wei before and generally like it. I would come back to this one, but I just would not get this dish again. Restaurant is clean and the cashier was nice. read more

Our first time in Tuscon and we were staying at the courtyard by marriott up the street from Pei Wei, wow, we loved Pei Wei and hope they open them in Illinois, our home state. The food was very good, the people working very friendly. But What up with the BATHROOMs! Gheesh, they are gross and have the worst smell, not sure what it is but those bathrooms needs more than TLC, they need a full overhaul. I rarely dine at Pei Wei and every time I do I swear it's the last time as their food is so inconsistent. Most recently I got take out as part of my kid's fundraiser. I have to say that their community involvement is probably the only reason I will go there in the future. This was the most recent order breakdown: -honey seared tofu and vegetables: a few shards of hard tofu with bland, overcooked, frozen-style vegetables -dan dan noodles with beef: these people don't know what dan dan noodles are -Mongolian beef: so salty it was inedible with rice so hard it looked and tasted like it had come straight out of the fridge. The whole dish was an utter mess. I hate to throw away food, but this was so terrible it was unsalvageable -Teriyaki crunch roll: passable for food I admit I may go again the the future if they host a fundraiser but will try to find items that they can't mess up read more

I have never been a fan of Pei Wei. But since I hadn't been in over 10(ish) years, I decided to give it another try. It is so sad to see what has happened to this place. When we got there, I was excited to see that they had new menu items. I tried the general tso's chicken because how could that be bad?? I also ordered a drink which is don't usually do, because pei Wei used to have delicious iced teas back in the day. I regretted this. They did not have the tea they used to, which is fine because it has been so long. Instead they had green tea which I made the mistake of trying because it was spoiled rotten. After looking closer, it was clean the container holding the teas hadn't been cleaned in who knows how long. I was especially frustrated by this because I do not drink soda and those were my only other options. When my meal came I was disappointed with the presentation and the amount of sauce that was on the plate. The rice was seriously undercooked and there were lots of tiny chopped vegetables, both of which were drowned in the sauce. The chicken was good which is why I'm giving 2 stars. But that is all I was able to eat. There are lots of reviews that are similar to mine. It makes me wonder how they are able to stay open and why no one cares to make changes to improve the restaurant. read more

Chicken Pad Thai with coconut sauce and fried rice was a delicious meal and my friend had the Beef /Broccoli with fried rice we were enjoying the delicious food. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very clean and nice wooden chairs/tables to set. The silverware was clean and nice weight to use. There is plenty of napkins and straws and sauces. They have fortune cookies when you finish your meal. We had a lovely hostess that explained the business and answered our questions. Wow - I should have gotten take-out. After I ordered, I walked in the dining area and looked for a clean table\seat. Of the 25 tables in the restaurant, six were occupied and eight of them were dirty. Tables hadn't been cleared, booths hadn't been wiped and the floor looked like it hadn't been swept in days. Better yet, there were no forks or napkins. I had to ask an employee to get more napkins, and I had to get a take-out plastic fork. The food was fine, the abject lack of cleanliness left a bad taste. I won't be returning to this location. The Pei Wei at Ina and Oracle roads is much cleaner, and the employees are more friendly. read more

Thoroughly impressed with my first ever visit to a pei wei. I've heard good things about them in MI but have never got around to going to one until travelling on business to Tucson. We ordered and dined in unknowingly close to closing time but at no point did we feel rushed by any employee. The sweet n sour chicken and brown rice was freshly and quickly prepared along with my companion's chicken teriyaki bowl. We were taken aback by how fresh and real the ingredients seemed compared to other fast food options out there. The sugar snap peas in fact snapped, the pineapple was fresh not canned and the red peppers were bright and tasty. The food was a bait and switch. What they served us looked nothing like their board. There was not even the smell of food cooking in the whole place, so you know it wasn't made on site. My hubby had beef and broccoli. The broccoli was old and dry, and the beef was so tough he could not chew it. I had the General Tso's Chicken, which looked NOTHING like the picture. The chicken in my dish was so tough, it could barely be cut much less chewed. We walked out leaving food we paid $42 for untouched except for a bite or two each. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE place to eat!!! And, the smile never left the waitress's face when I complained. Went here earlier today with my daughter. She ordered the kids chicken lo mein. She always get that, and for some reason today it didn't taste the same. It tasted sweeter and salty. And seriously the portion is very poor. I had specifically asked for the veggies to be cooked softer, it was not. I decided to try the new orange chicken. The rice tasted like dried white rice. And the orange chicken was a little spicy, but definitely not a dish I will try again. It's hit or miss with Pei Wei. I feel like they don't take their time to prepare the food, and plating is messy sometimes. Sometimes we barely getting our drinks and food is already at the table, only for it to be sent back to be recooked. Today, we both were disappointed. I used to love Pei Wei but now it's terrible. They have changed the way they serve their food when they changed their menu. Now, they serve a big bowl of white rice with just a few pieces of protein and veggies. I have started paying $2 more for extra protein and even then it's barely what it used to be. When I ordered beef and broccoli with extra protein, there were 5 small chunks of beef and about 2 cups of cooked rice. I had to add my own sauce. My last take out order was for chicken pad thai with tofu. This used to be a great comfort food splurge. When I opened the container, I was not happy to find a big bowl of PLAIN noodles and chicken. No tofu. No sauce. When I tasted the noodles, it was like they sprinkled chili powder on dry noodles. Paid $13 to fill my trash can. When I submitted a request for a refund, I received an email saying they'd gift me a $10 gift card for my next meal. Cutting it short and trying to force my continued business? Much unappreciated. Good luck staying in business, Pei Wei. Seems you might be struggling if you can't afford to serve your dishes with all their ingredients.
