My fiance and I had a great meeting with friends I hadn't seen in months and my fiance had never met. We decided on Pei Wei because of the variety of Asian foods there. We got 4 different dishes and every one of them was excellent. We all enjoyed ourselves and had plenty to take home. My friends we were visiting with are Asian themselves and so eat at all the more authentic Asian food places, but they were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. I come to Pei Wei in Tustin (District) about 2-3x a month, usually during lunch during some of their busiest times of the day. The staff here is always so friendly and efficient with the orders, and the food is always prepared and cooked consistently great each time. Today, in particular, I went and saw their new salad menu options. I normally get the Wok dishes but decided to try the Ahi Avocado salad. I will start by saying, if you like Ahi Tuna, please try this dish. The portion is significantly larger than I ever expected. I'm not sure if they are pricing it almost at or below the Wok entree prices because it's new & they are trying to encourage trial, but the amount of food you receive is outstanding. The tuna was so good and there was so much of it. The presentation of the entire salad looked like I went to a high end restaurant and paid twice what I paid for it. I was so impressed I had to find out who made it for me (her name is Rocio) so I could write her a review on Pei Wei's survey system. I will definitely be coming back for this salad and will have to try all their salads now. Well done Rocio and Pei Wei. Again, I am not a first timer and have never had a bad experience here. I really like their food, but customer service is not very good. I tried ordering on line which I have done before but it wasn't letting me so I came in instead, I asked the girl if I was doing something wrong when trying to order on line just for future reference and I showed her my phone, with an attitude she said I really don't know how it works I've never really been on it on line, I know we have a lot of issues with it it can be anything. We came to Pei Wei last night and the food was decent, even though the prices would've indicated something of slight better quality. When you come here don't expect authentic chinese food because you will be disappointed if that's the case! I tried the sweet and sour chicken and to me, it tasted a bit too salty. My boyfriend had some sort of noodles and he said it was pretty good but not the best he's ever had. Overall, this Pei Wei offers pretty decent food and has nice decor and is in a very nice area. I alway come to this location and the food is usually great. This time however, I came in and ordered for 5 people. As soon as I sat they gave me one of the plates--which I'm assuming was siting around due to the speed and cold nature of the plate they gave. I sent it back. When the rest of the plates came out 2/5 of the plates had burnt meat. I sent them back again. Not a single apology from the employees and the new plates were still burnt. Amazing customer service. Did a call in order here for dinner and the service was fast, fun , and friendly. Also, the cashier ended up giving me extra fortune cookies! The food quality was great too. OMG, WHERE DO I BEGIN? I have no idea this place was packed for lunch. I receive a Pei Wei gift certificate for a free project I done for a friend. Me and my wife decided to give it a try. The first impression was, this place was not quite right set, all the patrons were Whites and ABC Asian Americans. Anyhow we got on the ordering line and I decided to order the Japanese Chile Ramen with tofu. My wife ordered the Thai stir fry with also the tofu. Foods were served rather quickly. What? My ramen came without any soup???? & was a pan-fried dish?!!! OK, now the I began to worry, sweat started to pour down my forehead. My first gulp was a horrid trip all by itself, totally salty and the ramen noodle they used were more like udon instead..... Well you know the rest is just a part of my history that I so badly wanna erase.... I couldn't comment for my wife's dish, but on the look of her face she wasn't shouting for joy either. Anyhow I quickly got up and left that place in tears... of joy that I finally got out in one piece..... Last lunch I ordered the Mongolian steak and it was saturated in caramel sauce and was a very small serving - seems they include sauce weight in serving size. I've tried the fried rice and the pad thai both with shrimp here. Fried rice was tasty I liked it more than the pad thai maybe because the pad thai was a little bit too spicy for my taste. If you want fast food Chinese that is fresh and quick then Pei Wei fits the bill. The taste is not amazing and personally most of the dishes taste similar. I don't like this place. It's too expensive for the "food" they serve you. This place is similar to Pick-up Stix, where you order and pay for your food, they give you a number that you place at the table you wish to sit at, and they bring your food on plates, in bowls. Basically, this place is a fast food joint wearing a sit down restaurant's facade. The reason I gave this place 2 stars instead of the 1 I had planned is because my order of the lettuce wrap was good, fresh crisp lettuce, decent chicken fillings. My main close was the Phad Thai, and boy, I shouldn't have. I can't exactly put my finger on it, but their Phad Thai just wasn't right. It was sour, and spicy.....oh, I know. Tasty food that's a mix of Chinese, Thai, Japanese, and Vietnamese. The veggie spring rolls and the blazing noodles (so spicy and good) are awesome! Only criticism is that everything was a bit too salty. The service is really fast - you stand in line and order, and the waiters bring the food to your seat. I have to give Pei Wei two stars because I really have experienced better. The sweet and sour chicken was good. Just good. Nothing exciting, nothing bad, just good. What is really good is the chicken/lettuce wrap appetizer, but this is really Americanized Chinese food. You feel like you're eating at Epcot Center or Disneyworld, Florida. All of the ethnic food there is Americanized, and made kind of a scaled-down, blander, tang of what it should be. I'm not saying I had a poor meal, or bad service. It's just not really Asian. I'd rather spend my money at a small, hole-in-the-wall dive of a place, that at least has a chef who know how to wok, and season. But who knows, maybe you like generic, corporate-scale food joints. The people working there is what makes a difference. This location is clean, efficient and friendly. Crab wontons were crispy and not greasy. Orange shrimp was fresh, but a tad oversauced. We received a gift card for pei Wei so we decided to try it for the first time. It was a disappointment. Their food is worse than Panda Express. I ordered the sweet & sour chicken, took one bite, and almost threw up. It tasted like there was detergent or cleaning solution in the sweet & sour sauce. My brown rice was extremely dry. I knew it would be busy and that it would take a little longer to get my food items, but I was in the area and showed up about 10 minutes before my pick up time. They messed up my order and I didn't receive my food until 15 minutes past my pick up time since they had to remake it, yet they provided me with a $10 gift card for my wait. I came here for dinner on Friday night and my experience was really great because of the service provided by Brandon. He went out of his way to keep me comfortable and provide excellent customer service - he went above and beyond to get me an additional order from the front and I thought I was going to be able to sign the receipt and leave him a tip, but there was no place for it on the receipt so this was my only recourse! It def didn't feel like I was in a chain restaurant -although i go to pei wei because it makes counting calories easy and the food is always healthy and good - but this great service made my night and made me feel as if I was dining at one of the upscale restaurants at the district! Kindly remind pretty girl I asked for rice on the side- hoping my food doesn't get spat on. While i'm waiting, i glance at receipt and notice i'm being charged for rice. Err? So i ask fatter girl w/ glasses "um any reason i am being charged for rice when i just asked for it on the side"? Says it's an extra charge for rice and steps away. I think Pei Wei is a sinking ship. I ordered take out tonight and when I got to the restaurant they hadn't even started cooking it. UGH!!!! The girl in charge of take out had to run to the back when I got there because the order before mine was incorrect and she needed to step away. Seven minutes later, she comes back and finally starts packing my order. So when I get home, the orange chicken is so AWFUL and tastes very very bitter. The spicy tuna rolls weren't any better either and looked terrible too. I had to throw them out because my husband and daughter refused to eat them The tuna is by far from fresh because the coloring is so off. The fish looked like it had been sitting out and they quickly made it into a roll. I was so disappointed! The chicken in the chow mein also tasted waterlogged. Came in for a quick dinner with my husband. The lady at the register got my order incorrect (which can happen). The food was more expensive than what I had ordered and contained carrots which I'm allergic to. When we brought it to the attention of the food runner who passed by us a few times, we mentioned we didn't catch it on the receipt but noticed it is the wrong dish when it was brought out. My husband asked if it could be switched out for what I had originally ordered, the guy just stood there without offering any options or solutions. At that point I decided I didn't want to hassle with another meal coming out so I said I'll just hold onto the meal. I instead just asked at the very least for the guy to bring me a small plate so I could move the carrots and other stuff off my plate so I could eat the main part of my food. However, he had the audacity to tell me plates are by the drinks and I could get up and get it myself. Wow! That was very rude! Both my husband and I were shocked by the lack of customer service. The problems, however, didn't stop there. The rice in my husband's plate was cold; and some of chicken in my food tasted undercooked. I ended up not eating over half of my food (chicken/veggies). I know it was New Years Eve...but we got there way before closing and there were many other people who came in later than us. This quality of customer service is unacceptable under any circumstance...be it NYE or any other night of the year. In 2016, I'll be sure not to return to this Pei Wei. read more

Fast, made to order, my kids will eat it, and excellent service. It's fast food Asian, so it's not gourmet but better than the other fast food Asian chains. Best of all the service is always quick, friendly and the manager, who is always working behind th counter runs this location like a well oiled machine.
