We live upcountry but every time we're in Lahaina we make a stop here! The mixed greens and feta salad is so bomb,add some garlic shrimp to that and you've got an absolute winnah! The flatbreads are epic and the pastas are delicious. I've seen some reviews about it being bland,that's just them being considerate and allowing you to flavor to your own liking(you can always add salt and pepper,you can't subtract,duh!) slightly different experience than the others on here, i actually thought their pastas were pretty good! it's a quaint little restaurant with some outdoors seating, great location (only a block away from front street), and has a good variety of dishes to choose from. I tried the clam linguini, I'm a sucker for linguini, and enjoyed it alot. but then part of me don't know if it's because I was so tired and hungry from driving 13 hours to hana and back, or the food was really that great? haahaa nonetheless, all of my friends like it as well, so I'm givin' it 4 stars =) read more

Located just down the street from our hotel, Penne Pasta was one of the first places we ate at in Maui. It's a seat yourself kind of place like most of Lahaina where they tell you sit where you feel comfortable. You order at the register and sit and they bring the food out to you. We ordered a bottle of Savangon Blanc, it was very good for $20. The spaghetti sauce was a little runny and the meatballs were a little large for tm taste but still good. Also, I added chicken and was dissatisfied by the 4 or 5 "small cubes" of chicken I had in my pasta... customer service was also mediocre. I guess the salad was OK. Took my family of four here. It was a nice change from the $40 entrees that most of the restaurants on Front St charge. At under about $15 an entree, it's worth walking a couple of blocks off the main drag. Anyway, the food was great and came out quickly. The baked pasta dishes were good and once you dug in, very moist with a lot of sauce and meat. The baked chicken pasta was delicious. I had the whole wheat with eggplant pasta and it was very satisfying. The sauce was rich with tomatoes and definitely homemade. We will come here again! read more

This is not one of those fancy pasta restaurants that charge you $$ for a plate of pasta. It's no nonsense order at the counter and get a decent meal served up quickly and al dante. We ordered the pasta with marinara, the pesto linguine, the meatball sandwich, greens salad and calimari pasta. Everyone loved their dishes and the total price was under $40. I really like this place. The food was good, but it wasn't so incredibly amazing that I can give it 5 stars. They are also reasonably priced, which is tough to find on Maui. So here's the rundown. 1) You have to try their flatbread pizza. If you're a thin crust pizza guy, that is very good. 2) Their sausage pasta special is also very good, but the downside is that they overcook their pasta. It just didn't have their al dente texture that makes pasta so enjoyable. Their sauces though are quite fragrant and flavorful. It's tastier and more aromatic than most places I've gone. Two big thumbs up there. 3) Their AC is kind of broken. Only 2 of their 4 ACs from above seemed to be on and it was quite warm in there, especially in the middle of the summer. We tried to stay cool as much as possible by sitting underneath their fans. Oher than that, a great place to eat. I'd go back there when I have an inkling for Italian in the future, that's for sure. read more

What happened? We were just here Easter week 2012. We have been eating here or ordering to-go for about ten years. We all have our favorite dishes. On April 10, 2013 we called ahead to place our order for dine in. After I placed our order by phone, an older sounding lady asked how long it would be before we arrived to have our dinner. I informed her we would be at the restaurant in about 10-15 minutes. She replied "Well, hurry up." What kind of aloha was this? As we were waiting to pay, there was a young female customer at the counter with her "untouched pizza" - she'd found a hair. I began to feel we were in trouble... Our favorites soon arrived and they were dismal at best; the lady on the phone had neglected to add a grilled chicken breast to a fettuccine alfredo - not sure how that got lost in translation. The chicken picatta was swimming in oil and also mixed with bell peppers (an unlisted, unwanted, non-tastly addition). Oh, and the pours of the three separate wines were of less volume than what we swish with mouthwash. We decided to eat outside - what a mistake - there was a wandering cat that brushed up against my husband's leg; he promptly shooed it away as I am severely allergic to cats. We asked if it was the restaurants, "no just a stray we feed and water". All that and the prices are up 15%. You've been warned. read more

It is a nice place near Front rd by all the shops about 2 blocks away. The price is decent for maui and the service is very nice. When they say "flat bread pizza" they mean it but the pizza was still amazing and fettuccine Alfredo is some of the best I had. Over all a very nice place to eat. read more

If you are gluten free, this is a good choice. They have gluten free pizza and pasta. I had the gluten free pizza last night and it was delicious!! It was not like cardboard. Instead it was soft which is a nice change. It's an order at the counter restaurant. The owner was very friendly. I recommend eating outside on their patio. Visited for dinner after reading rave review on Yelp. Cheese pizza was mostly crust and Alfredo sauce was so runny even after put lots of cheese on the table. Frankly, I'm surprised that people consider this Italian. I also grew up on the East Coast. I know lots of 1st Generation Italians and have been going to true NY Italian for a long time. This was Italian that anyone can make. The sauce was OK, but could have been from a jar. The pasta was no great shakes - it tasted like anything you could buy in a supermarket and make yourself. Chicken....meh. Not a bad piece, but again, nothing special and nothing overtly Italian about it other than it was breaded. I understand this is the newest place from the guy who created Maui Tacos? If that's the case - shame on you. Even for Maui the prices were high considering the atmosphere and poor service we had from the one guy working who really didn't seem like he wanted to be there. read more

This is a wonderful place in historic Lahaina. The staff is very courteous and pleasant and the place is quite cute. The menu is simple but the food is really tasty. They are extremely fast to serve the food so that you don't have to wait very long. The prices are also quite a nice change from the very high price you pay just about everywhere else. Good pasta options, sandwiches, salads... nice variety. It's also a great place to take kids (they do have a nice kids menu). Once you're done with dinner, you can walk along the main street just a block away and be by the beach while checking out things like the huge Banyan tree, the ice cream parlors, etc. read more

My family and I ate here on a trip to Maui. Weren't expecting much. Family had the spaghetti with meat sauce. Pasta was over cooked and sauce was not flavorful. I had the spaghetti and clam sauce and it was pretty good. Clams were fresh and favorful especially after adding Parmesan cheese and pepper. Pasta was overlooked. Had the caprece salad and it was ok. The pizza crust was like a quesadilla topped with salad and two pieces of prosciutto. Not too tasty and hard. The eggplant pasta again was a small plate and very blah tasting.
