The focaccia was not focaccia, it was a (tasty) flatbread with garlic and rosemary, but they used the wrong word.. the pizza was really mid and likely just the same dough as the "focaccia". Chicken parm was fine and so was gnocchi. This is very much a family restaurant with lots of kids running around which is totally fine and don't mind that! But yeah food is pretty disappointing. And while I get they were having a busy day, our waiter was literally hustling us out the door, he even said "we have other customers who need to come in" even though there were open tables. He like kept coming by asking us if we done and ready for the check even though we were clearly eating.

The food is great, service is great location is great, I'm giving it a 5 and wondering why it has been voted down to 3.5. My daughter goes to school nearby, or we wouldn't have tried it based on score!

PP reminds me of your standard Greek restaurant. Not very impressive, that is, until our food came out. Then I knew it we were in business : ) My "go to" every time I visit a new Italian restaurant is spaghetti and meatballs. The waitress recommended the sausage, so I went with it, and I was not disappointed. The marinara sauce was excellent as was the sausage. Everyone in our group enjoyed their entree, especially the vodka sauce. Worth trying.

Yes I highly recommend this place , the mangers and staff are very friendly. The waitress we had always helps us with our meals. This place is very romantic . The freshest food you can order. I recommend the green pasta lasagna. It a must to have .

A view of the kitchen. You can thank me later.

Penne Pomodoro is close to being an institution in Snider Plaza. What I mean is that Penne, if memory serves me correctly, has been in Snider Plaza for over twenty years. It hasn't been around as long as some of the other long-standing restaurants in Snider such as Kuby's Sausage House and Amore Italian, but it's longevity demonstrates that it has been adopted by the folks who frequent SP. Some years ago, I used to spend a lot of time in SP since I lived a block away for a couple of years. I never considered restaurants there as "destination" type of eateries serving dishes that you'd lobby for a Michelin star. Most of the joints were good based on "neighborhood" restaurant standards and you could get a tasty meal without a lot of reservation drama and putting on your Sunday best. The same holds true for Penne Pomodoro. In our most recent last minute, walk-in, visit on a Wednesday night, most tables were full of folks that looked like they were from the surrounding area (families, kids, and grandma and grandpa), as well as a number of tables occupied by students from nearby SMU. On that night, we were looking for quick and easy; we weren't looking for a production. The menu offers Italian-type fare ranging from Bruschetta to cripsy mozzarella; chicken parmigiana to grilled salmon; pizza; create your own pasta to lobster ravioli; and an assortment of sides and sandwiches. On our visit I ordered Focaccia bread (which they forgot until reminded), and Red Snapper Livornese. Both were what I expected; good and satisfying, but nothing out of the ordinary for a solid neighborhood joint. So if you're in the area, looking for a pleasant meal, without a 4-week reservation wait, give Penne a try. And if you're in the mood, give the nearby area a walk and guess where I used to live.

I came here for lunch and built my own pasta with penne, bolognese, and sausage. I also split the calamari appetizer with a friend. Everything was good - the aioli sauce that came with our calamari complemented the fried dish really well. The pasta was good but nothing outstanding. I do not think adding a protein on your pasta is necessary - a little pricy and the bolognese sauce already had ground meat in it. We were served quickly and offered bread and an olive oil dip, which was alright. We sat inside because it was really hot at the time we came but I would recommend sitting outside - the outdoor dining area is cute and better lit compared to the indoor seating area.

Both were pretty solid. There are several more that I would be interested in trying in the future, as well. They also offer a "pup pizza" if you bring your furry friend. We recently moved here from California, so every restaurant we try is a first-time experience for us -- and Sean set the bar incredibly high. From the moment we sat down, he ensured that we were taken care of with a level of attentiveness and professionalism that is genuinely rare to find. Sean knows the menu inside and out -- from cocktails to entrées -- and every recommendation he made was spot on. We trusted his guidance completely, and he did not let us down. Despite the restaurant being quite busy, he never missed a beat. He checked on us consistently without ever being intrusive, anticipated our needs before we even voiced them, and made our date night feel truly special. We usually aren't the type to leave reviews, but this one felt absolutely well-deserved. While the entire staff was kind, Sean is absolutely an asset to Pizzana. His knowledge, energy, and impeccable service transformed our first visit into one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. He is the kind of server who makes you look forward to returning -- and we definitely will be back because of him. Highly recommend asking for Sean. He is definitely a rockstar.

Hands down Two Guys makes the best pizza in town! They make…read moretheir dough from scratch and it's delicious. Our standard order is a large three topping with pepperoni, real Italian sausage and onions. You've got to try onions as that touch of sweet helps with all the savory flavors. We always include a side salad with their homemade blue cheese dressing for a small charge $2.55! You've can also purchase their homemade salad dressings by the pint or quart. The pizza takes a minute to get made so the salad calms our appetite. I swear it's cheaper to get a glass of their house wine than to get a glass of tea so don't hesitate to order. This place is a definite bargain on many items. Now the pizza is just spectacular. The Italian sausage is the real thing that has been sliced from the links not the sausage "turds" you get with fast food pizza. The crust is perfectly yeasty and the thickness on the medium side. They also serve on a rack at the table to keep the crust fresh. Since we order a large it is a knife and fork pizza with the heavy cheese and toppings. Another favorite dish is their lasagna. I've lost count how many times I've ordered at the restaurant and to go. It comes with a choice of salad or minestrone soup. The soup is homemade and simply the best warming dish - a hug in a bowl loaded with veggies. Service is always friendly. The murals of Italian scenes and the wine bottles hanging from the ceiling add a fun touch. Just don't forget to try the pizza and you won't have regrets. Our server, Emma, took excellent care of us and explained their authentic pizza style: a thin, crunchy crust with a perfectly chewy inside.
